This hotel is conveniently located near several restaurants, Utah Tech University, and other businesses so you can't go wrong staying here. Parking is free, and the service is fantastic and helpful. There is a pool, BBQ pit, and other amenities behind the hotel. As for the rooms, they are comprehensive and include a small kitchen, pots/pans, dishes, and other kitchen basics. The wife and I drove from SoCal to St George on our way to Park City and stopped here for a couple of nights to check out the city and things to do. We checked in with no issues even though it was around noon. Hotel lobby was fine and our room was adequate. I was a little surprised that there was no in-room safe. While I know these are not high levels of security it does stop a crime of opportunity in case someone finds their way into our room. I have used them in any hotel I have stayed in while on business or pleasure. It is one of the stars I left off due to this. It was quite warm in St George, hovering about 93 degrees, so we were happy that the AC was working and pumped out cold air right away to try to cool us down after dragging our luggage and stuff up to the room. The available luggage carts were great to have. Went to sleep early due to our long drive and a couple glasses of wine. The bed was OK, nothing to brag about. Worked for me as I was pretty tired. I woke up early the first morning and to let the wife get some more sleep I slipped out of the room and down to the lobby and breakfast area. The breakfasts are included with the room charge. Not always my favorite thing to do, but it's nice to have the option. I did some YELP reviews while the wife slept some more. The wife woke up and came down and we decided to give the breakfast a try, since we wanted to get out early to beat the heat to hike around Snow Canyon, see my review of that for more info. When I opened the warming dish to reveal our breakfast treat I saw what appeared to be something similar to the egg bites from Starbucks. My wife loves these and I tolerate them as a quick bite while on the road. Well, after a couple of bites of the TownePlace version, I thought to myself that the egg bites from Starbucks were pretty tasty after all. These had some egg-ish top, with a nice bite of jalapeño but through the center and all along the bottom was some thick breading something. I am not sure if mine was cooked all the way through. I did not finish and was OK with my cup of decaf coffee which was freaking hot. Perfect start to my 90+ degree day ahead of us. Ha! Had a great day in St George and after getting back and freshening up, we walked to the Buffalo Wild Wings nearby. St George has every chain restaurant known to mankind and every corner has some fast food joint. Came back to the perfect cold room and had a good night's sleep. Next morning we explored the breakfast again, since we wanted to get on the road to Park City and did not want to have a sit down breakfast. Also, there was a Starbucks on the way to the freeway, so that was a possible option. Breakfast was much improved over the previous day. It was a English muffin, round egg slab, sausage and cheese. It was pretty good especially when I took two of the sandwiches back to my table and took the insides out of one and added to the other, tossing the first English muffin. My version of a breakfast double, double. Overall, pretty average and nothing crazy outstanding. Place to lay your head down and head out on your way to explore Utah. Go, Have Fun! read more

Their breakfast was a joke. My husband went to grab a milk and it was rotten. Frozen Jimmy Dean sandwiches that were very old. Also, the next day I woke up to nasty frozen miniature quiches I do not recommend this place at all. We will not be staying here ever again $216 a night you would think you'd have a better breakfast. read more

wanted to stay in a Marriott, ya, because marriott is the most trusted brand - legitimately. But not this one. needed to come in late and leave early to make it to a soccer game. staying with wife and daughter. booked my room. came in hot at 10:30pm. only room left was a king with a sofa pull out - but that is what we booked. hotel was sold out. get to our room, to find out the bed was broken and literally slanted 12 inches from side to side. nothing the front receptionist could do - couldn't fix it, didn't have any other room available. We left the hotel searching for another hotel at 10:45pm. this hotel operator is clearly beneath the standards I expect at a Marriott. Hate to pile on, but the cleanliness was also substandard to a Marriott. Shortcuts seem to be the norm from this operator. caution staying here... read more

For those who don't know, Utah hotels have been open....so i took a trip! I booked this hotel in hopes for a restful get out of town trip. Towneplace Suites was nestled back along the cliffs, driving up you'll find that the exterior looks very home-like. Check in: Quick and easy! Hotel room key in hand very promptly. The ROOM: or shall i say the suite i booked was very nice. You'll notice the the space in the room was used very very well. Everything was compact and fit perfectly. The bed had a textured comforter and was exceedingly comfortable. Next to the bed was an in suite hot tub! The bathroom was adequate and had an in shower dispenser with shampoo, conditioner and body wash. The shampoo was a tea tree based product which was amazing. HOTEL: Around the hotel property was a large outdoor hottub, pool and gas grill area. There was also a laundry facility and fitness center which is currently closed. The lobby has a small market, but also in the lobby is a breakfast area. The breakfast was a great amenity, Bagels cereal and things of that nature. The hotel is QUIET. Even outside you don't hear a peep. What an excellent stay! read more

Stay. Saturday April 6, 2019. One night to attend Tuacahn PBR show. Hotel exterior looks great. Parking was totally full on Saturday evening. Smaller breakfast area. Breakfast Sunday morning had only fried eggs, yuck. Turkey sausage, that MARRIOTT serves is gray and awful in my opinion. Our room was a huge disappointment. 336. King bed. Tiny bathroom toilet, tub area. Barely useable. Toilet paper hanger had clearly been off the wall a very long time. Peeling paint. Tile floor doesn't look very clean. Bed firm and ok, it's a budget Marriott after all. The Tiny TV was mounted so you could not see it from bed or sofa. It faced only window. It was Not mounted on a swing arm pullout. It was a fixed mount. I verified this with front desk. It's about. 22" tv. We were going out to watch bull riding anyway so we didn't need tv but it would not be an option in these rooms. Plainly stated, this location is below-average for the Towneplace suite franchise. There wasn't anything glaringly wrong with the place but there definitely was an air of indifference. The check-in was smooth, as expected. The complimentary coffee was barely lukewarm. When I notified the clerk that there wasn't enough hot water to make a cup of hot cocoa, she just looked at me and said OK. She did not take any action towards refilling the hot water or indicate that she would take action later. After an awkward few moments, I decided to forgo the hot cocoa. The free breakfast was OK. They did have a decent selection of continental breakfast items. Though they only had 1 hot item. First morning was a biscuit sandwich, second was quiche, and third was english muffin sausage sandwich. I have to say they had only one woman working there they worked her pretty damn hard. She prepped the hot foods, kept the other items stocked on the counter, kept the counters clean, refilled various beverages, took out the trash and bussed the tables - entirely by herself. Housekeeping schedule seemed spotty. They didn't clean on the second day but did on the third. Of course they took away our 5 towels and replaced them with 3 so that was another trip to the front desk. The morning we checked out, we had gone downstairs for breakfast. The good: - Hotel is in a wonderful location, very easy access to the rest of town and all destinations. - Decent swimming pool. - Good excercise and laundry facilities. - Great front desk staff and housekeeping. All very nice! The bad (reasons for 2 stars): - The hotel skimps whenever possible. The pullout bed it cheap and uncomfortable and the little things are skimped on. - Breakfast is not good. Mediocre would be generous. We literally saw them take the fried eggs out if the freezer and warm them up. That's what they taste like too. Selection is substandard compared to other TownePlace brands we've been to. - The gap under the door was huge. I could hear everything going on outside my room. I wanted to travel after being locked up in Vegas during Covid 19 for 2 months. I usually visit St. George twice a month for a Vegas break, so when Utah opened, I headed out there. I am a Gold member at Hilton but their St. George locations are pretty bland and terrible, having tried all of them, I can say, this location blows all Hiltons out of the water. PROS * Very kind, friendly and accomodating staff, honestly made my check-in very smooth and got me a great room! * Upgraded room has a whirlpool inside the bedroom (AMAZING!) * Cost effective * Almost walking distance or a short drive from a plethora of restaurants and a Target. Fantastic location! * Fully equipped kitchen! A huge pet peeve of mine when staying in hotels is that when ordering food, restaurants won't even include a few packets of salt, plates or silverware, even if you request them. This place had all you needed! Glasses, Pots, Pans, Plates, Silverware, a burner....very useful! CONS *It's very old. Old carpets, old decor, old furniture, old room styles. *Tiny windows *No balcony *Complimentary Breakfast is very underwhelming (but you're really close to a bunch of breakfast spots so it's no big deal) OVERALL Although I would glady come here again, although because the room is so old, I will try other places when I go back to St. George, I really wish they would renovate some of their rooms, they could charge more and would most likely be the best place in St. George. read more

After spending two weeks on the road this was the least expensive room and surprisingly it had the absolute best bed ! We had a two room suite with a kitchen and a corner room view. I have a future stay here, I will be updating. I inquired about different discounts available through Marriott but apparently they either don't offer them or say they are no longer available. Which is funny to me because when attempting to book far ahead there still are no rates available. But the one that really got me upset was the discount code Marriott offers for First Responders, they will not honor it at this location. I called corporate and they didn't have an answer as to why they are not honoring the first responder discount. Kinda late for me to find a different location now. Stay tuned. read more

Marriott advertises how careful they are being regarding COVID. But the employees at TownePlace Suites in St. George aren't wearing masks, including customer-facing roles such as check-in. (There is no plastic barrier or other protection from airborne particles at the front desk.) I don't know how I can trust Marriott to be carefully cleaning the rooms and public spaces, if they can't even ensure that their employees are taking THE SINGLE MOST EFFECTIVE MEASURE against spreading this disease. I brought this up upon check-out, with the employee who also wasn't wearing a mask, but she turned out to be... the manager. She told me that she "understands my concerns" so take that however you want. I no longer trust Marriott and will avoid booking their properties in the future. As an aside, the free breakfast has been canceled entirely. While I understand concerns about buffets, other companies are offering bagged breakfasts to-go. It's pretty cynical for Marriott to cancel the breakfast on account of health concerns if they aren't going take the one super-easy, low-impact, almost cost-free way to prevent the spread of disease. read more

We stay at this hotel with my in laws b cause it has two room suites that are pretty nice. The service has always been good, never had a problem. In fact, when we checked in we found that our bathroom sink had a broken faucet handle. We called down to the front desk and told them and it was fixed not even an hour later. Weird that it was broken in the first place, but we appreciated them rectifying the situation as soon as possible. The pool is really nice, and is accompanied by a giant hot tub, which is a nice bonus at night when it gets a little cooler. It has your average hotel breakfast. Uninspiring at best, but edible nonetheless. I will say that their interior decorating choices are a bit strange. Pixelated and simply bizarre pictures, weird furniture. If that's going to bug you then reconsider. It doesn't bother me that much, I just want a comfortable place to sleep and it's definitely checked that box. read more

We have stayed at this hotel twice and have gotten tricked by the reservation wording twice. Our bad. What they advertise as a king suite with sleeping room for 4 is a teeny tiny room with a king bed, kitchen, and sofa bed (for 2) all within a 10 by 10 room. We paid almost 300 bucks a night for what should be about 79.00 This trip we unexpectedly ended up with 2 extra kids due to family emergencies... when we asked to add an additional room to accommodate the situation, the only solution offered was to put some of the children (age 10 and under) at the other end of the hotel in their own room. We obviously weren't comfortable with that arrangement and were surprised the hotel was. They would not let us cancel or alter our reservation. They apologized but never asked a manager, or actually worked on a solution to our problem. Stay somewhere else for hospitality and for comfort for sure read more

The customer service is great here. I was presently surprise the way the front desk went out of their way to make their guest happy. The room was upgraded. Almost always travel at home and had a two bedroom. Was a bit much however I won't complain. Out side there were seats to relax and on nice warm nights always to relax over fresh air. Free parking or included. The only thing couple things: would love a little update to the rooms and seating outside did not seem intimate due to sharing with front entrance and parking lot. Room was small, bathroom even smaller and tv was small and very poorly located for viewing. Kitchen, though, was well outfitted. Apparently breakfast was cut back from the pandemic and was totally insufficient for how they market it. Had to leave to get a good, hot cup of coffee and eggs that weren't hard boiled. First two nights I was awakened by squeaking floors from above. But after unpacking who wants to repack and change rooms. Location is good but hotel needs a complete makeover. Well I'm here but I really don't get this concept. A hotel room where I can cook on a 2 burner electric cooktop, equipped with dishes, utensils and pots and pans. I mean for $160 per night - yep, that's only $1100+ per week or $4800 for 30 days, is this really what I would do if I want a place to cook in? Oh and they will "refresh" your room daily or if your crazy enough to stay for a week, then they will do a "full clean". What ? I get a full clean at Motel 6 daily for $59! Skip this place, save money and get new towels every day somewhere else - for less. And oh yeah , 5 pillows on the bed and they all suck. read more

First of all, I am a tough hospitality grader. I do that for a living. I have stayed in Marriots in a few different countries and states. I have to say, I have very rarely been disappointed at these properties. This Townplace is wonderful! From the moment we walked in we were impressed. We were offered a free upgrade, without us even asking. I had two pregnant women in my party, and an upgrade made a world of a difference for them both. That way one couple didnt need to stay on a pullout bed. Although I tested them, and it was still very comfortable. Oh and 'them' means 2 pull-outs! The red chair/love seat pulled out for a single as well! The facilities were nice and clean. All staff was friendly. The complimentary breakfast buffet was pretty good as well. The shower was instantly hot, and stayed that way for 4 guests showers in my room. The giant hot tub and pool are very nice, and made a fun little getaway for my pregnant wife and I. Final words: Well done Townplace Suites! This new Management has got this building running smooth! My party and I were very impressed. A big Thank You to all the staff and GM Zac!!! read more

The four of us are staying here right now and this is the consensus as said by the 10 year old: The pull out mattress in the couch has weak to no springs. The service however is excellent with free coffee and tea. The breakfast selection leaves little to be desired. I guess we should use the kitchen. Although the pool is outside the indoor gym is rather small and gives a good workout. The Jacuzzi tub is awesome. They gave a nice addition to the room with a kitchen, and the heater in the room is a bit weak, it was 25 last night and it would only heat to 72! Ayee... We prefer the Courtyard, but the included amenities here make it a good spot for 4 people as opposed to two or one. There is a somewhat comforting little hotel suite. read more

My key didn't work for 2 days after asking multiple times to have it fixed. Was told each time maintenance will take care of it. After 3 days they had to call him in after hours to only find out it only works if I try and open my door and outside door for 3 minutes. Was told the door locks are 10 years old and needs to be replaced. There are plenty of other hotels to stay in, which I will most definitely do next time. Very poor service...... read more

I spent many weeks at this hotel, and there are just too many misses to give a positive rating. Overall the attention to detail is in place, but the many horrific surprises overwhelm the good. "Keycards" for room and entrances DO NOT WORK. The magnetism of the keys deactivate, and the side doors and rooms, will not open. The worst part, is the sewer gas that seeps through the kitchen sick, bathroom sink, and shower/tub. Water backs up in all places and the SOUR smell is incorrigible!! Staff is the ONLY thing holding together this establishment, please fix issues ASAP. read more

Here's the whole story...a friend gave us a free night's stay at any Marriott we wanted. My husband and I decided to have a night out of Las Vegas over Memorial Day weekend. We decided to go to St. George with the intention on going to Zion the next morning. We got sidetracked and went to Snow Canyon National Park instead. Really beautiful! We originally were all set to check into the Courtyard Marriott, which is next door to the Towneplace Suites by Marriott. Our dogs were with us and the Courtyard didn't allow us to stay there. (By the way, that's the first Marriott I've ever been to anywhere that didn't allow dogs). However, they were kind enough to transfer our reservations to the Towneplace next door. Something was lost in translation because we got there and the girl told us we couldn't check in. After giving her all of our information and our friend's information, we finally got everything straightened out and got our room key. She was very nice and suggested some steakhouses for us. What started out as a cluster, turned out fine. The rooms are nothing to write home about. However, the dog run and pool area are beautiful! The next morning, we enjoyed breakfast there and went back to our room to pack. Checking out is the part that honestly upset me....We have 2 dogs, who were on leases. Some idiot was sitting in the lobby with his dog wandering around off its leash. One of our dogs ends up getting in a fight with this wandering dog. It began and was over in less than 10 seconds. The other owner was upset but disagreed with me that his dog should've been on a leash. THIS IS A HOTEL...NOT YOU'RE PERSONAL HOME...AND YES, YOUR DOG DOES NEED TO BE ON A LEASH. Nothing would've happened if his dog would've been on a leash. I wouldn't have even mentioned this story....however, the hotel manager was standing behind the counter and saw the entire thing happen. Didn't say a word. I think everyone was responsible in this situation. I had my dogs on a leash. The other guy should've had his dogs on a leash. And lastly, the manager should've told the man to have his dogs on a leash. This was probably my least favorite stay at a Marriott. I am going to give it a 3 star rating because I feel like it's St. George and I shouldn't have had such high expectations. Won't stay there, if or when we go back to St. George. read more

My work and occasional vacation plans have taken me to the Towneplace. Have to say for me it's the best place I've stayed in St. George. Clean, big rooms, nice workout room with weights. I've stayed here maybe 5 nights minimum over 4 stays. This is the best Towneplace I've stayed. The front desk staff are also very accommodating and helpful. I have to say on a reward stay a while ago the General Manager helped us out with a misunderstanding. Bottom line they made it right. This place was way nicer than the hotel we stayed in prior to checking in here. We lost our home due to a fire and or insurance is currently paying for us to stay in hotels until we find a new place. It had been a week and a half and we love it! We have a seven month old daughter Arya and our dog Ripley. The bed is a king and we also have a queen sized sleeper sofa which is very comfortable! The pillows are very soft and the king sized bed is comfortable as well. We love that we can cook in our kitchenette and our room has plenty of closet space. My dog is much calmer here than the previous hotel, she doesn't bark at staff and just wants attention. I wish they had a fenced in dog area so my dog could run but other than that we love it, we enjoy the free complimentary breakfast buffet. read more
