Took the train in from NYC while we were visiting from California just so we could say that we've been to Connecticut. Walked to the Bruce Museum and then afterwards walked through town and ended up here because it had the best reviews in town. Based on the reviews we weren't sure whether or not there were any good restaurants in town or the locals are just especially harsh with their reviews. It ended up being a long walk from the train station but was totally worth it. It also allowed us to see a lot of the downtown on foot. Damn, this town has the largest YMCA ever. Anyways, we ordered the prix fix menu lunch for $35. Everything was delicious and the price was a steal. I can without a doubt say it was the best meal that I've ever had in the state of Connecticut hahaha! read more

My family and I often go to Townhouse and we have had fantastic experiences. Food is superb, very well cooked and fresh. Waiters are super nice and kid-friendly. Atmosphere is chill/ very relaxing but at the bar it's quite a scene! Mock tails are good and refreshing. Dinner here was awful. Not sure what people rave about. My fish must have been delivered last week. My friend's steak was tough and salty. I had my silver anniversary party here for 33 guests. We had a 3 course dinner in the Atrium room. The food was delicious, the room and decor were stunning, and the service was impeccable. This place was awesome. We heard connecticut was opening outdoor dining during this pandemic as of Wednesday the 20th. The food and drinks were A+ ! They just opened up outdoor dining. I'm reading through all the reviews and can't help but wonder if it's the same restaurant my partner and I just dined at. The food was simply dreadful, and we should have left immediately after being served stale bread. If the restaurant can't even get the bread right, what does it say about the quality of their ingredients? We made the mistake of trying a few items from the lunch menu--tuna, scallions, bass--and the only thing with any semblance of taste was the tuna. As for the scallions and bass? Date night. Sat in patio out front. Gin cocktail and white wine (*, see below re: latter). Mezze dip platter a really nice start and it helped remind me subtlely that this was a middle eastern influenced place. My lamb chops were perfectly cooked medium and the coconut sauce was excellent. The one ordering mistake - and I blame us, not townhouse - was augmenting w/ a half portion of the kale, mushroom gnocchi with goat cheese. The 80s called and they want their dish back. Remember they used to throw goat cheese on anything and everything back in the day, back when goat cheese was newfangled ingredient in its brief meteoric rise? An Italian grandmother or a Stanley tucci would have words with us for ordering this heretical perversion of potato pasta. Again, our bad. I said I would circle back to the wine - the menu stated Sauvignon Blanc was $13 but the check said $16. Wasn't big enough for me to mention to the waiter, but nonetheless it was annoying. I ate dinner tonight, Tuesday, November 17, at Townhouse, and it was terrific. This is my fourth time dining there, and what I appreciate, besides the delicious food, the attentive service, and the lovely setting, is the adherence to COVID-19 protocols. I work in healthcare, and the Townhouse is exemplary. Tables at least six feet apart, waiters masked at all times, one-time-use paper menus, spotless surroundings, and squeaky-clean bathrooms. This is the place to really relax and eat sophisticated cuisine in Greenwich. Great cocktails too. I will continue to return to the Townhouse! read more

Townhouse in Greenwich hits all the marks, especially in the bar. Moody bar, fireplace for these chilly fall nights, great drinks, and our meals (halibut and scallops) were delicious... but what truly set it apart from all others, was the service which was on a level we haven't seen in Greenwich, or many places. Even the valet service was outstanding. Fernando, the manager that evening, was checking in with diners throughout the night , as was the bartender (didn't get his name) who made perfect drinks, took our order and made sure we had everything we needed . Best Restaursnt in the metro area, and I don't give this review lightly. I chose this restaurant based on positive Yelp reviews and the photos suggested a great atmosphere for a special occasion. It exceeded in every category. First, the food is spectacular. I ordered the lobster salad and my partner the tuna Crudo. Both were terrific. I chose the crab cakes for the entre. Not a speck of bread in it. Wonderful seasoning. My partner had the delectable papadelle. Second, the decor knocks one's socks off. Classy and intimate in a large space. Not easy to achieve. Third, the manager and waitress made us feel like family. Extremely professional. Finally a good value. I expected a place in Greenwich like this to be outrageously expensive. I hosted my micro-wedding at Townhouse in October 2020. We worked with Dana Cifone, the Director of Operations, to plan the event. Dana was wonderful to work with -- she helped with every detail from planning the food to the decorations and she ensured the event ran smoothly. The venue is really beautiful - we brought in centerpiece flower arrangements and Dana placed tea light candles up the staircase. The food and service were excellent! Everything from the appetizers to the plated dinner was delicious - we received so many compliments on the food! The waitstaff was so attentive and very professional. I say this from the bottom of my heart, if you're looking to host your private event- look no further. To begin, planning any event during covid is a nightmare. Let alone a wedding. I never thought about using a restaurant but Dana Cifone made it impossible for me to want anywhere else besides Townhouse after we met with her. She was professional, available and timely with EVERYTHING. Phone calls, tours, meal plans, bar packages, floor plans, etc- she was exceptional. Townhouse is beautiful with the light and airy atrium we used for photos, we also toyed with using it for cocktail hour but it was too good for a room to pass up for a photo opportunity. Upstairs the penthouse room (ball room with dance floor, stone fire place and massive marble bar) is where we had our guests all night. The selection of hors d'oeuvres were awesome and the bartenders were quick. Dana was SO flexible literally until hours before with our guest list because of Covid and we had flight issues with the storm/flooding the week before Labor Day. I don't think anywhere could do this but Dana assured us it was ok to be flexible with a few guests because they are a restaurant not a catering hall which makes all the difference with having supplies already on site. For this I will never use a catering hall/venue in the future and always use a restaurant for any private event. We didn't have a DJ she was flexible with us sending our Spotify playlist we curated to her along with our first dance and final closing song. We had a gluten free guest she was able to accommodate as well and helped us with our outside decorations and worked well with external vendors. The pricing is fair and the fact that she was willing to work with us on exactly what we needed set her and Townhouse a part from anywhere else we toured. I'm writing this on my honeymoon and we are still getting bombarded with texts with how good the food was (and we all know wedding food typically isn't) and how beautiful and smooth the day was. Dana- THANK YOU so much I am so grateful for all of your work, effort, energy and flexibility with us. I couldn't be more thankful we chose Townhouse and to work with you and I will certainly be recommending it to anyone in the future. I ordered a pick-up Christmas Dinner and we were so happy with our order. We picked it up the 24th (Christmas Eve) & the food stored well, was easy to reheat/prepare. The salad, soup, sides, beef tenderloin, salmon & cake were enough for a family of 6 with leftovers. Everything was delicious and cooked perfectly. This was the best catered meal ever! The food here is excellent! The toro tartare is very large, especially for the price. The mezze plate also has healthy and tasty portions with cumin - heavy hummus that we liked. My pasta was very large, and my husband's rare steak was cooked perfectly. The waitstaff was very friendly. A few reasons why this place loses a star; there was an overly fishy smell in the entrance way and the bar room; loud music and TVs with sports detracted from the bar room ambience; clownish pink - inflected splatter paintings detracted from the main dining room ambience; and when we were sited there was a large wine stain on our white tablecloth. Shouldn't take much for this place to iron out the kinks although they probably spent too much on the paintings! read more

After hearing friends rave about a Townhouse, I was so disappointed when I actually ate here. I was really looking forward to it. The outdoor dining area is terrible, sitting at a table in a parking was not an ideal backdrop for date night. I ordered salad with shrimp, a few bites in I realized they had served me shrimp that must have been extremely far past it's expiration. I didn't finish my dinner, and admittedly should have sent it back but I never feel comfortable doing that. My boyfriend was also not impressed with his meal nor did he enjoy his appetizer. There are several other spots in Greenwich with superior ambiance. This would not be a place I would try again soon. read more

My fiance and I decided to do a last minute weekend getaway to Greenwich CT. We had just searched the closest restaurant to our inn and came across Townhouse on a whim. We are so glad we did because the food was AMAZING!! The atmosphere was great and the tables were set up at least 6ft apart and were COVID friendly. The staff was great in accommodating us and giving us different options to try the food we wanted. We decided to go with the half dish of the Pappardelle for our appetizer which was very tasty! But the entrees were the star of the show because we could not stop talking about how delicious it was. My fiance got the Prime NY strip and I had ordered the Seared sea scallops. We usually like to share and try each others dishes and the waiter had suggested that the chef could split each entree so we could each have a sort of surf and turf entree. Both dishes were so good, we could not stop talking about it even after we got back to our room. We also got a side of truffle fries so we could take leftovers back for a late night snack (yummy as well!) For dessert, we ended up going with the creme brulee which was good, but nothing out of the ordinary. We kind of wished we followed the waiters recommendation to try the popular dessert options such as the chocolate tart or the churro.
