What an excellent dining experience! As soon as you get in your car it's valet parked. The dining area is dimly lit to set a very romantic mood. The hostess and waiter did a phenomenal job of getting us seated and taking care of all of our dining needs. For starters we had the octopus which was absolutely delicious, a big enough portion to share. The bread service was delicious, the bread was warm and paired with olive oil. Four our entrees I chose the double cut pork chop served with asparagus and my girlfriend had the roasted chicken. Both entrees were so good. The double cut pork chop was cooked perfectly. To end the night we had the blueberry strudel which were served with ice cream! Amazing!!! We definitely enjoyed our dinner and will be back to try other items on the menu.

I enjoyed my dinner here! It's a very upscale restaurant but not crazy expensive. Highly recommend their spicy tuna here. Our food was delicious. Service was excellent. They have free valet parking here too. It's perfect for business dinners and romantic dates.

Loved the octopus appetizer, and enjoyed our fish and pasta. Contrary to some other reviews, if you're just in town in Greenwich for the evening, this is not where I would go. Quite high prices for food that is good, but not what I'd write home about and a bit of a stuffy vibe in the main dining room. Excellent service and a nice experience overall.

First time here! Drinks at the bar were excellent! Table service was amazing. Every bite I put in my mouth was excellent!! The crispy tuna was to die for! We had fried calamari, crispy artichokes, the crispy rice, lamb chops and pasta tagliatelle with the ragu sauce! Everything was truly superb!!

Upscale dining room with comfortable upholster seats and a few private recessed tables behind curtains. Weekends are the only time I can dine out for lunch and it's becoming increasingly difficult to find a restaurant serving a lunch menu on Saturdays. They are either not open for lunch or only serve brunch. Both my friend and I wanted more than eggs and pancakes, so the Townhouse fit our requirement. Also was swayed by the easy commute and free onsite parking which is rare in Greenwich. Service was attentive without being intrusive. For most of our dining we were the only ones in the restaurant until midway through our entrée a table of three entered. Saw wait staff setting up large tables for dinner service. They offer ala care or 2 or 3 course prix fixe menu. For the 2 -course meal the first course offers 2 different salads and the main is either a fish, pasta or steak dish, none of which appealed to us. If you choose the 3-course meal a selection of two desserts is available. We both opted for ala carte. A pasta and a fish dish with us both starting with the Caesar salad. The salad dressing was creamy and tasty. A large focaccia crouton was placed on top of the salad. While the salad was good, I noticed a few leaves that had brown spots down the middle of the leaf. I pushed those aside. Not many but I noticed them. My friend had the Oreccheitte short rib ragu, pancetta, broccoli rabe, grana padana ($29). There was no broccoli rabe in her pasta bowl (zero). She did enjoy her dish. I ordered the miso marinated cod accompanied by several small slices of shiitake, bok choy and shishitos peppers in a soy beurre blanc sauce. I eat a lot of Asian food so was surprised that the sauce tasted more like a Marsala then Asian which would have been my preference given the dishes description. The three pieces of cod were flaky and moist. There were a couple of salads that you could add protein at an additional cost and a burger for $24. Otherwise, in my option the menu swings more to dinner options and pricing. The Cod was $41and Caesar salad was $15 which is the same price as dinner. We enjoyed the ambience and service. The food was good. A menu with more choices or a couple of weekend specials would entice me to return for lunch.

Dessert. It's a chocolate tart of some sort with cherries. Yum!

What a hidden gem this place is!! It's classy with a small menu, excellent service, and delicious food! We got there late on a Thursday night so it was not very busy. We had Sauvignon Blanc (should have gotten the bottle for a better deal) with some appetizers and mains since we wanted to focus on the seafood options. We started with the spiced lamb meatballs which were SO delicious; creamy yogurt with a kick of harissa, not gamey at all. Must have. We cleaned the plate! Then we had the arugula salad with peaches and goat cheese which had a nice crunch with the granola bits. Next we're the scallops, crab cakes, and salmon. The crab cakes were my favorite; crunchy exterior with lots of delicious seasoned crab inside. They may be the best I have ever had. Scallops were beautifully plated with a variety of roasted veggies. The salmon was my least favorite but I'm also not a big fan of salmon. It was nice and crispy, and I liked the lentils and veggies it came with. Truffle fries were amazing!! I don't ever pass them up on a menu. The service was attentive and professional. I like the booth seating with the adjustable lighting. Very romantic so a great place for a date or celebration. I like the amount of options on the menu; not too little and not too much. They also gave us some port wine with our dessert which was nice of them. I highly recommend dining here! I will be back again for sure!

Very good food subpar service and I will tell you why. The portion sizes were appropriate and delicious ; upon sitting down we were never told the specials by our waiter. We were upset because the specials sounded delicious when they were read to the table next to us. After that, and dinner was served , cooked extremely well and seasoned beautifully. We paid 300$ cash and didn't get change . On a 230$ bill. We demanded the bill they took 30 minutes to bring us our change cause they assumed 70$ tip was theirs. We tipped them 50$ and the valet 10$ Greedy and stupid tbh. Ambiance is okay. Should have mirrors instead of paintings .... Can't treat people with a presumptive attitude.. sucks ; don't know if I'd return because of that ... Plus as a young 30-year-old woman, with my mother I don't know why I was treated like I was going to skip out on the bill, and hounded constantly about payment and then goes and steals my $70 Horrible disgusting

Came here based on Yelp reviews and made a reservation for 3 on a Thursday night. The bar and library rooms were both reserved for private events so we were seated in the main dining area which was very pretty and spacious. We learned there are 5 different sections of this restaurant each with their own vibe. We started off with the complementary bread which was a bit of a curveball with naan bread, but was warm and tasted great especially with the provided aioli. I decided to go with a cocktail for a drink and went with our servers recommendation of the Macleod which was very smooth. For appetizers, we ordered the Mezze which also came with naan bread that paired well with the tzatziki, baba ganoush, and the hummus. This was a much bigger serving than expected, but tastes so good that we were happy about it. We also ordered the Burrata which was delicious! For my entree, I ordered the Pan Roasted Black Bass per our server's recommendation and it was perfect. It would not have been my go to fish, but I'm very happy it was recommended to me that evening. For dessert, we ordered the Tahitian vanilla crème brûlée and the mango sorbet. Both were great ways to end the meal, but I will have to admit that crème brûlée was probably the best one I've ever had. I'd have to say this is the best restaurant in Greenwich. The ambiance, the food, the service. Everything was excellent. I look forward to checking out other sections of the restaurant in the future as well as to future meals!

I have been to Townhouse many times since it opened. Tucked away, just north of the Avenue allows this place to avoid the overcrowding of inferior places that dot the Avenue. The rooms are beautiful. The food always good - has progressively gotten better resulting in an incredible dinner just the other night. I started with Cucumber gazpacho soup - phenomenal - followed by one of the best cacio e Pepe I've had in my entire life. A friend of mine also had the soup followed by the salmon which she adored. The other had an excellent salad with a short rib burger. Adventurous and interesting food with all the classics to please most anyone. They also have an amazing brunch.

We came to Greenwich today so had to try it. Again reserved this on Tuesday! Right off the bat knew it was pricey. No prices on the menu. Service very impressive though. They knew from open table I was gluten free and can't do onions. Usually restaurants don't pay attention to that. We had a waiter. Manager. Water person. Incredible service. Ordered tomato salad. Incredible flavor but very small. They poured "tomato water" onto the salad for us. Loved that. Super bougie. I was into it. Salad great but could have ordered two. I got the spicy shrimp fried rice. Good portion but incredibly rich. Brought half home. Comes with fried egg on top. Bf got the salmon in paper and he thought it would be served wrapped in sort of parchment paper or something like he's had at French restaurants in the past (Le Mazet specifically in West Hartford) but it was just a piece of salmon and couscous so kind of unimpressive presentation, but he said it was very good. He was just expecting it to be what he had somewhere else basically. Again was very good but also expensive for what u get. Overall. Impeccable service. Food good. Not over the top great. Very pricey. Small portions for the most part.

Our server was very friendly and attentive, and both the drinks and food came out quickly since the kitchen wasn't too busy. We ordered several appetizers to share, and my favorite was the grilled octopus--it was perfectly seasoned and incredibly tender. Overall, the drinks were strong and the food was delicious. Would definitely come back!

Amazing place to get dinner in Greenwich Avenue!…read more My favorite appetizers were the mezze plate and the burrata toast. The mezze plate came with small bowls of hummus, baba ghanoush, tzatziki, and roasted pepper dip, as well as pieces of pita, cucumber, carrots, celery, and olives. All the dips were delicious. The burrata toast had roasted squash, apples, maple walnuts, pomegranate seeds, a little bit of greens, and a balsamic glaze. I'm a burrata lover, and it's usually served with tomatoes, but I loved this unique blend of ingredients. For my main dish, I had the Maine lobster roll. This was served cold, with mayo, on a potato roll, with a side salad. The portions were huge and the lobster was so good. For dessert, I tried the skillet chocolate chip cookie, the chocolate lava cake, and the pavlova. Everyone at my table agreed that the chocolate chip cookie was the best dessert. It's served warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and drizzled with chocolate syrup. In one word, heavenly. For drinks, I had a yummy lychee martini. My dad had wine, and he asked me to add to my review that he thought the wine markup was very reasonable. It's a beautiful restaurant, and service was great. Highly recommend stopping here for dinner.

"Dessert made the night."…read more La Bistro delivers a solid, comfortable dining experience, even if it does not quite separate itself from the pack. I ordered the 1930's Rachel sandwich with pastrami, Swiss, sauerkraut, and thousand island on rye, served with a side of fries. The sandwich was well balanced and satisfying, with the pastrami bringing a good depth of flavor and the bread nicely toasted, though nothing about it pushed beyond what you would expect from a reliable local spot. The fries were crisp and did their job, but again, more supporting act than standout. Where the meal really turned was dessert. The Tangerine and Ube mousses were easily the highlight of the night. Both had a clean, refined presentation and a smooth texture that felt more thoughtful and elevated than the rest of the meal. The tangerine was bright and refreshing, while the ube brought a subtle richness that rounded things out nicely. It was the one moment that felt memorable. The ambiance leans warm and relaxed, making it an easy place to sit and talk without feeling rushed. Service was steady and unobtrusive, fitting the tone of the restaurant well. Overall, La Bistro is a dependable spot that gets the fundamentals right, but it is the dessert that gives you a reason to come back.
