So every once in a while, the wife and I like to go out and enjoy a cocktail or 2-living in…read moreNatomas, downtown is a short Uber ride both ways-so driving is not in play so we both can enjoy ourselves. When we do decide we are going to go downtown we usually either end our night of debauchery or begin it at this bar-B-Side on 14th and S street. This bar is truly a definition of a dive bar-dark lighting inside, they tend to play throwback music 100% of the time which is awesome-the bartenders here are always super friendly and always seem young-not always the most experienced bartenders you will run into but they always do their job with lots of enthusiasm and friendly demeanors-I think that's important. The drinks themselves are pretty inexpensive per todays Sacramento downtown standards,I think my old fashioned ran for either $10 or $11 which is pretty good and they are always solid-they make very solid get the job done keep the vibe going level drinks and at that price-that's a winning combination. My favorite part of this bar though for me is easy-it's the outside back patio. It features a few long tables and it's mostly frequented by someone either looking to smoke a cigarette or vape,I personally will go back there and light up a cigar and just enjoy the craziness that occurs back there.By craziness I just mean a lot of people socializing-laughing telling stories and getting along,u literally can strike up conversations with people you never met before just based on the fact that you know anybody who finds themselves in the back outside patio at B-Side knows what's up-nobody lands there on accident-it's a super chill spot with a never ending cast of unknowns who might sit next to you and just be prepared as your probably going to have the most random conversation you have ever had in your life. B-Side isn't a fancy bar or a place to go before a nice dinner-this place isn't for everyone, especially at my age,but if u are ever lucky enough to walk thru those doors be prepared to be transported to a time when all you ever wanted was a place you could kick back-have a cheap drink, maybe enjoy a smoke and just chat with people who don't have their noses buried in their ohones-a true throwback.

When I first started coming, they had a huge spacious outdoor space where you could sit and hang out at, smoke, drink, and play games at. But they had to close this area and it's now a parking lot, leaving a super small awkward and dark "outdoor space" that barely fits a group of people. The inside is dark and a little cramped but theres booth seating and bar space. I honestly like the look and feel of the inside. The drinks are decent and they have DJs on certain nights. My friends and I had a less than great experience once on a bar crawl when we weren't given great service and overcharged. Hopefully in the future things improve.

This is the same place I used to go to back in the '90s -- and somehow it's still here. Now I'm…read moreback 35 years later with some of the same guys I was hanging out with back then, which honestly made the whole night pretty special. The place is a lot cleaner and brighter than I remember, and there are way more beer selections now. I feel like in the old days there was basically one option. Also, no popcorn all over the floor like I remember from back then -- the whole place feels much more updated and polished now. They also do karaoke now, and apparently it's a pretty big deal. There seemed to be a lot of regulars who clearly have karaoke night circled on their calendars. I didn't sing, but my friend got up and did a Quiet Riot song... which felt appropriate considering we're all straight out of the '90s ourselves. There's also a lot more seating now -- tall tables and stools instead of the little round tables that looked left over from the 1970s. I don't know when I'll be back, but if another occasion comes up where old friends are getting together and this is the chosen spot, I'm definitely in.

Came here with some friends we ordered drinks 17.50 for two beers which i thought wasn't bad for the area. This place is the same as I remember it nice and still welcoming good mood lighting unfortunately it is not wheelchair accessible. Mike is an amazing bartender he was fast with our drinks love him. On my second visit!!! Erin the lady running the karaoke was crazy i asked her how far was i in the que and she said after 10 more singers. I was ok with that cause i wanted to go outside,so i proceeded to tell her ok good cause i was going outside to get fresh air and i only asked because one of the people i came with was called up to sing. I wasn't trying to be rude or insinuating but she got an attitude and told me i was being rude but i think it was because if you tip you get to sing earlier than most i was confused so i just walked away. I was at the bar talking with my friends and was pushed into really hard I almost knocked over my man and another friend. To my surprise it was the Dj she purposely knocked into me!!! she is lucky i didn't press charges she assaulted me and i am disabled. the only reason i didn't press charges was because of mike he said he will deal with it he even checked the cameras and was very upset that she did that watch out that girl has issues.

I'm happy to say the burgers we ordered lived up to the social media post! We tried the bacon cheeseburger, original cheeseburger, (chicken sandwich, not pictured) and spicy bacon cheeseburger, and as you'll see from the photos, each one was served just as advertised. Our meals came with a choice of seasoned fries or onion rings. The portions were generous, the burgers were tasty, and you'll definitely want to bring your appetite. The Round Corner has the feel of a friendly neighborhood bar. As you walk in, the small kitchen is located at the end of the bar, where you're greeted by the chef and his assistant, both eager to take your order. One thing to know before you go: the kitchen accepts payment by cash or Venmo only. The bar itself is spacious, with two large pool tables. The dining area is toward the very back and is basic but functional. Dim lighting and neon bar art give the place that classic neighborhood-bar atmosphere. Overall, the food was plentiful, tasty, and exactly what caught my attention on social media in the first place. Definitely come hungry!
