Recently came here with some friends while exploring Old Sac and wanting to try a new spot. This lounge is tucked away in an alley across from Firehouse Restaurant. It is small inside but has a surprising amount of seating they were able to make fit. It is dark, intimate, and romantic. The vibes I was getting was a mixture of burlesque snd dive bar. The bartenders were super nice, the drink prices are very reasonable and cheaper than some midtown bars I've been to, and they have a touchtunes like machine you can play music on, as well as two pool tables. I really enjoyed our time here and would come back.

Charming bar with a lot of character. Visit early on a friday night. Not a whole lot of people. There and one person manning the bar. He was in charge of drinks and food. Hughes also asked to play pool with one of the other patrons. He endeavoured to help everyone and was very friendly. Found this a very nice and relaxing place to have a drink. And at this time, we were able to sit down and have a nice conversation. Unfortunately, on this visit, the Pizza dough wasn't ready, so we didn't get food. However, I'm anticipating that next time. When we get a chance to try it.It is amazing. They have a full bar and bartender is very experienced.

The drink menu! They offer a Gibson Martini which is really easy to make but many bartenders confuse with a gimlet. Nice!

The Back Door Lounge is a classic Old Sacramento spot. It's been there as long as I can remember and hasn't changed much in all that time. It always reminded me of an old Rat Pack hangout even before I found it there's a lounge singer on the weekends. Maybe it's the wallpaper, or the wrought iron railings, but I always think of New Orleans when I walk in the door. It's dimly lit, has comfortable seating, a great jukebox, and lots of character. They staff is always friendly and happy to mix up a cocktail, pour beer, or serve a glass of wine. I'm not sure if they've always served food, but there are some hearty breakfast and lunch options on the menu. I can't say I've tried the food, but it sure looks good. Weather you stop in for a drink, or for a meal, you'll like the Back Door Lounge, cause it's the real deal!

You think of Old Sacramento as more a tourist area, but there are a lot of bars that cater mostly to locals. I visited "Back Door Lounge" for some day drinking after watching games at another place nearby. It was slow; but the bartender was hospitable and a good conversationalist. Drink prices were reasonable. The place is too neat to be a true dive bar; but it's got a little grit, just because the building is old.

This would be my second time eating here. For breakfast we got the back door breakfast with bacon. We also got the chicken fried steak with eggs. I've got to say that the chicken fried steak is incredible. So good. The potatoes had a good taste and the bacon was nice and crispy. All around a very good breakfast. I'm surprised more people don't come here for the food. It's a dive bar. Not huge inside but has lot's of tables and places to sit. It's in a alley near firehouse restaurant. The bartender was nice and the cook has skill. Whenever I go back to old sac this is the place I'm eating at or even to just get a drink. I hope more people give this place a try.

We were told this was a good breakfast spot. So we gave it a Ordered chicken and waffles, single waffle, biscuits (cheddar bay biscuits) and gravy, country fried steak, a couple more side of French toast and eggs and bacon meal. This if all for family of 6. Chicken and waffles were good. The chicken needed a little more flavoring. The breakfast combo was really good. Eggs cooked perfectly. Biscuits and gravy were pretty good, again gravy needed more flavoring. French toast was really good. Onion rings were good and so were the fries. Service was nice. The price was good. Nice hidden spot. 3.5 stars

Excited to try their menu items!!

So many updates from the old days but keeps the original flavor. They've added pool tables. And, best of all pizza hot from the oven.

This is my first classic martini (unlike lychee martinis I've had before at other places). My server asked how I like it, with olive juice or with lemon twist or another option I don't remember. To be honest I don't know how I like it because it's is my first classic martini. So I was honest with him. I said I'll do whatever you recommend because I wanted to try a classic martini cuz I've been watching Gossip Girl. I felt silly admitting I wanted a martini because of a tv show. But my server actually did his research and found that Blair (a main character in the show) likes her martini with a lemon twist. And that is the martini I got. He brought frozen glass and poured the drink on the spot. It was such a vibe and a great drink. For food I got the grilled prawns. This dish is delicious and goes so well with my martini! For my second drink I got the shiso fresh. I was debating between two drinks and asked my server for suggestions. He is absolutely right with this recommendation. Shiso fresh is refreshing and sweet but not too sweet. I loved it. Service is wonder and drinks are tasty. I can't wait to come back!

My first experience here was unforgettable -- my class rented out the rooftop for our master's degree graduation party, so I really got to see everything they offer. Outside of that event, every time I've come in as part of the general public, it's been a positive experience too. The crowd is usually full of young professionals, and it definitely gets packed -- in a good way. The vibe is lively, stylish, and social. Fantastic Spot To "Pregame" Shows @ Goldfields Next Door…read more SITREP We descended upon the Tack Room an hour before our show for "Ally The Piper" (both the classical AND heavy metal bagpiper extraordinaire) began her show! THE SETUP Goldfields is a charming, rustic country-western stylized saloon that serves up beer at good prices. But we weren't interested in beer and wanted quality cocktails. The Tack Room specializes an amazing array of martinis, bourbons, and other deLISH cocktail drinks at really really reasonable prices! I remember seeing it mentioned on the news too. I got there when it opened at 7pm so it was pretty quiet, but I got a good feel and vibe from the place. The manager also interacted with me and told me that just last night, the place had some popular DJ and packed the place in. He showed me a video of what the scene looked like and all I can say is wow (in a good way). The best way I think I could describe this spot would be a more intimate Las Vegas night club on the strip while not compromising the quality of cocktails and providing a multi-sensory experience of lights, sounds and energy. I left when things started to get busy but I am confident in saying that you won't be disappointed and feel like you got your money's worth for sure.... especially when they will be having events there. If you get there shortly after it opens, I think you can count on more of a lounge sort of vibe. When it starts getting later or there's a DJ spinning (especially a well known one), then the place turns into an upscale nightclub. Circling back to my experience, I tried their "Plot Twist" cocktail which consists of things like bourbon, lemon, honey, fig jam and walnut and it was one of the best cocktails I've had in a long time. Nicely balanced, smooth, inviting and little to no bite. Just a damn good cocktail that I really enjoyed. There were three bartenders there which were Karla (who made my drink), Ian (who made my second drink that I can't remember what the name was), and Danny. They were all really nice, fun and outgoing bartenders that made me feel welcomed while also maintaining a fun demeanor. I asked if it was ok with them to take their pic since some people don't like that and they were cool with it. The bar seats being a little small were surprisingly comfy and tested out the lounge seating which is also comfy and provides perfect views of everything going on (in case you ever want to reserve a spot). There is no bad seat in the house, the music system is very clear with high end audio, and overall you can tell that a lot of thought and effort was put into this place by people who know what they are doing. A couple of other things to note is that the menu they have on their counter does not display all of the cocktails. There are more on their website which you can look up by going onto their website. When they are in their busy hours, you can reserve spots and get bottle and I think that if you know it's going to be a busy night, it will be worth it to do with a group. There will probably be a door charge later in the night so be prepared for that, however I did see on their website that they do have a guestlist so take advantage of that! They do have a dress code so when in doubt, just dress to impress and you should have no trouble getting in. The average cocktail is around $15 and think it's reasonable for the kind of cocktail you will be able to get. Archive is open on certain days so be sure to double check that they are open before going. Ultimately, if you haven't been yet, this is one place you should definitely check out at least once. If you're more into the lounge vibe, get there early. If you're more into the clubbing vibe, get there a little later or check out their events for the ultimate experience. I will definitely be back and this place is raising the bar on K Street and whole area. Oh yeah, and lastly, they do accept tap to pay including Apple Pay, Samsung Pay and Google Pay as well as credit/debit cards and cash. Thanks for the great time guys!
