Used Yelp's business finder to get a few quotes for my two non-working low beam headlights, and…read morethis shop stood out right away. They responded quickly, were courteous, and didn't try to tack on a diagnostic fee just to take a look. When I dropped off the car, the technician walked me through their process, starting with the bulbs before moving into any potential electrical issues (which I really appreciated.) It ended up being the simplest fix: both bulbs were burned out. They had everything replaced within a few hours. Fair pricing, clear communication, and no upselling. I'll definitely be back for future repairs. Side note- they have the cutest shop kitten. ‍

I had been here once before and had a great experience, so when my car's AT light went on…read moreunexpectedly one night I called them first thing the next morning to see if they could get it in. They said they could and gave me a timeline for working on the vehicle that matched my needs. While I appreciate them getting me in on short notice, they consistently over-promised and under-delivered on when they would be able to work on my vehicle. They were able to diagnose a couple of leaks that they thought were the problem and sent me photos to show me what they were looking at. In the past when I've left my car at this shop for work they sent over a detailed estimate before starting the work, but this time I only received the verbal estimate over the phone. I drive an old car, which isn't worth much, and I did let the person know that I wasn't interested in investing more in repairs than the vehicle is worth. As it was, the two leaks were just over $1K to fix, and I OK'd the work to begin. After fixing the first two leaks, they then came back and told me there was a third leak, which would require a more major repair to the transmission and they would have to have their transmission person (who wasn't there that weekend) send me an estimate the next day. While I understand that it's plausible that the third leak wasn't something they could have originally diagnosed, it felt a bit weird that the photo they used to show me the leak was one of the original photos they had sent before starting any work. If the leak was visible in that photo, I'm unclear why they couldn't have diagnosed it earlier. The added cost of this additional repair definitely tips the scales of worth-it/not-worth-it to repair vs replace this car, so I wish I had had all the information before deciding to make the initial repairs. Unfortunately, despite stabilizing the ATF level, fixing the leaks did not resolve the transmission issue. On a smaller scale, they didn't check or top up the tire pressure, which most mechanics I've gone to have done as a courtesy when working on my vehicle. The day after I picked up my car the tire pressure light went on, and when I checked my tires all four of them had low pressure. It's a small thing, but especially when dealing with expensive mechanical items like cars, the small things matter a lot in creating a sense of security and trust with your mechanic. They did mention that they were under new management since the last time I had been in, which may account for the different experiences.

Brought my car in for service at 8 AM and Betty was delightful and customer service at the desk…read more Their computer was down but still didn't let her stopl heard from providing good service and helping me! I usually take my car since it's a Mays Miata roadster to Browning Mazda Cerritos but instead I tried them and I'm glad I did. I got front brake pads and got the rears done because they had my car up on the rack and showed me and I just only needed the front but I thought let me get it done since I'm going home to New Orleans on a road trip in December once semester ends I am a nursing student. I'm poor and I watched the budget and Browning Mazda was to charge me several hundred dollars and then some for a break job. I will be back. They just texted me and said that my car is done.!!! The price and the value here and the service was unbeatable $269 for my brake pads which included everything!!! Rich the tech was efficient and friendly when my car was up on the rack inspecting my brake pads!!

Take your money somewhere else!!!!…read more Went for some repairs on my Kia soul just needed a camshaft sensor replaced but over the next few day my check engine light kept turning on. 1st day camshaft sensor replacement $200 - second day light came back on took it back needed some more work $700 - third day got it back my entire engine went out quoting me $7k. Not once didn't anyone mention "hey your car might have some bigger issues". So basically I took it in to get fixed and it came back worst then I gave it to them. Everyone was "nice" but definitely felt like they were hiding behind a smile. No one explained to me that engine failure was a possibility... it definitely seems like some shady things go on here. I took my KIA to them after giving them a second chance because last time I went there for repairs on my Nissan THEY CRASHED MY CAR. (They paid for repairs but still). In short try anywhere else!!

WOW! Truly impressed with this location…read more They verified the brake caliper on my girlfriend's vehicle was not truly seized. Downey Car Care Center was going to charge an additional $289.47 for a brake caliper that was not needed and an additional $152.10 for a brake fluid service had we replaced the caliper. While Downey Car Care Center highly recommended the caliper, Alex's Auto Repair stated they did not want us to waste a lot of money if the calipers were not the problem. Truly grateful for Alex's Auto Repair prompt responses and amazing customer service. They verified the caliper did not need to be replaced. They simply lubricated our caliper. We were able to save over $400 and we are grateful. Thank you for your ethics, honesty, and time. It truly makes a difference. (photo on the left is from Alex's auto repair; photo on right is from Downey Car Care Center). So glad we got our brakes and rotors replaced by Alex's Auto Repair. We have not had any issues and we are even granted warranty. Thank you for your integrity!

I have no issues with their workmanship but would never go back due to their dishonesty…read more They said I need to change all four brake pads because they were all at 3mm. I went to another shop and they measured it and showed me that the front brakes were at 3mm but the back brakes were at 7mm and could go another 10k miles. Edit: Due to the gaslighting, I uploaded the picture of the measurements clearly showing what they told me.
