I used to bring my Mercedes here years ago and after having gotten a new car, I almost forgot about this place and what a great job they always did for me. Today I'm glad I remembered them. Had a knocking sound in my daughter's VW Tiguan this morning and he was able to diagnose it and repair it quickly at a reasonable price. She was on her way to work only slightly delayed. I went by one day Danny said to bring it back 8am in two days for drop off so I did , Than he said he will call me to let me know what's up I called back to ask to send me an invoice that I dropped the car off he said no need to he would call me back I called few hours later he never called me back and said it needs more than what he can do , he is not a qualified Mercedes Mechanic in which he did not tell me I don't know if he really even looked at my car . After spending half of the night with AAA and limping my precious Benz home, I made a couple phone calls to see about getting my alternator replaced. On a recommendation, I called Broadway. Danny was very kind and patient and ordered the part to have it ready for me by the time I arrived. He quoted me a price which was $600 less than the cheapest dealer, and he said he'd have the entire job done in less time than anyone else. He promised four hours, and had it done in three. If you're looking for an honest, knowledgeable, affordable, reliable, and most if all, compassionate and kind mechanic that services BMW and MINI, you should definitely consider this place. The ambiance in the shop is something else, and immediately feels like you've entered a damn airplane hangar. Danny is incredibly knowledgeable and gets the job done right every single time. My aunt takes her BMW 325i that has over 190k miles here and it has absolutely no problems whatsoever. We just had a fuel injector replaced which was like $450. Way better priced than BMW dealership. 1. Frustration: I work from home and ordered a left shock and 2 brake rotors online. I wanted to prep our car to go to Vegas for my birthday. This place is in the middle of nowhere Broadway, and opens 8 am kind of late, and no Saturday or Sunday hours. So if you work stay away. If you are alone this place is a nightmare to park your car, or to drop it off/pick it up. Almost got run over by oncoming traffic and had to make a dangerous U turn. I work at 08:30am from home, and my taxi did not pick me up from there even if prebooked. They did not even offer to drive me home or pick me up. So go to a chain store. This one had no waiting room, no coffee, no reception, no smile. Just some guy guesstimating your bill too high just a hand Witten invoice to cheat you. Also if you call after hours all you have is old school voicemail, so Mom and pop bs is overrated. 2. Surprise- No taxi came! I had to cancel my Taxi that never came at 8 after, then call a non human taxi operator that also could not send me a taxi to this location. Uber was $60 if prebooked. Luckily there was a Bird scooter $13, and I frantically had to download and configure the payment, and barely made it home using 2 Bird scooters. I was lucky to get home on time so 25 minutes wasted. 5 min to spare and sweaty/dirty/stressed. 3. Aggravation - Work day already ruined - I even told them the car was for a teacher(you would think they would go easy on the price), and that we were going to Vegas, and they still did not give a crap. During my workday spent another 38 minutes driving there and back to drop off my partner to pick up his car. I put the locking wheel lug nut key by the shifter in the cup in the morning, and it was not there in the evening. When the car got back it ruined my day when I had to spend 30 minutes tearing the car apart to find a part that came with the car, you need it with every flat, or tire change, or going to Vegas. Even 10 other shops never forgot to give me this part back. Fail! 4. 2 Young guys do not care about quality. 5. Bad phone manners - They really sucked on the phone, and never called me back at all. No info that the car was ready did not give any update. No one gave me a list of charges. 6. So my partner was bugging me all day when is the car ready, I had no answer and had to call them. Interrupting my work day. They should have called him or me, but no. 7. Not a single wow factor nothing! - I dropped off car at 8 was hoping to pick up 11:30-12:30, (my lunch break) (not working man/woman friendly), but no it was come after 4pm this is with no cars that they actively were working on, so not even one thing to impress me for that high price, $186 for brake fluid change rip off. If you work intense like I do this place is a headache avoid it! I barely made it to work on time 2 days in a row because of these people. 8. Garbage Area- I even took everything out just in case because of the sketchy neighborhood, but they still managed to steal my tire tool. 10. Not Dependable -This place is not gay friendly and they sent my partner a teacher out without tire tool on the road. I even told them he uses this car 24/7, and we barely have time for maintenance. They might do something like this to you and you end up stranded on the road. That is no excuse to charge us all that money, and then f up something like this. So they worked on our brakes too guess I will have to check that they did not forget a bolt or a pin. Or if our axle or shock is not bolted down. 11. Overlooked - So if we had a flat on the way home be would be SOL, and would not have known until it is too late. 12. Dishonesty and bad customer service. First the guy said repair was $500 but turned into $678.48. I had to beg for my own return the parts they took off so I can recycle them only made $2.35. 13. Unpleasant Surprise - When I got home one of the tire emblems was missing and it took me 30 minutes to pry it off and replace with a new one had they took it off I could have glued it. The OEM part is over $50 at the Dealer. They probably banged mishandled the tire to get the emblem to just fall off like that. Again did not give a crap. German cars equals attention to details they could have glued/saved it. 14. Blah -They just treated us bad because we're a gay black and Hispanic couple in a gay neighborhood no less! 15. Inconvenienced after service - I have to get up early tomorrow morning on my trip day wasting another hour of my day to pick up my tire key that should have stayed in the car. The tool has been with the car since 2004, and these I guess they treat black and gay people like crap regularly, and literally told me f u by doing this to me maybe on purpose you know (dumb black guy), so I do not recommend black or LGBTQ people to go here based on my experience. Did not respect me, my car, my partner, or my time at all. We expect a discount! read more

Needed new brakes, so I called Danny. I also called around and discovered that he offered the best price. I told him I had to work in the afternoon and the weekend (we spoke Friday morning) thus I needed my car. Danny said he could get it done in time unless something unpredictable were to happen. Daniel saved me close to $2000. My 2009 C350 air conditioning never really got cold since I've owned it these past 2 years. I finally wanted to get this issue fixed. Initially I took it to another car "doctor" in the area and they took the car for a day to figure out what was wrong with the AC. They came back with saying the evaporator needed to be replaced and quoted me over $2000 for parts and labor. Obviously I wanted a second opinion. I took it to Daniel at t Broadway German Service. Immediately he told me the previous diagnosis is highly unlikely for a car this age. He got in the car and smelled the air coming from the air vents and confidently told me that he did not smell any refrigerant and that it was definitely not a broken evaporator. He cleaned the AC system refrigerant and refilled it with new refrigerant, the car has been blowing colder than ever. He charged me a fraction of what the other shop was asking and the issue is fixed. Overall honest shop. Very valuable to know a good and honest shop these days with complex newer vehicles. read more

I am new to Long Beach from San Francisco. I recently gave this store a 5 stars for fixing my 2004 Mercedes roof top for 2000$ plus other car maintenance. A week after the roof-top was leaking a nasty oil all over me and the car interior and eventually the hydraulic part stopped from working again. I went to Dany, he requested about another 2000$ to fix other parts of the top. At that point, I was frustrated because the car is old and it doesn't even worth that much money I am spending to fix it, but I love my car and I tried to fix it and to keep it polished. I also did the yearly tuneup which costed close to 500$. I found out another place in 16th and Long Beach who does the same work for half of the price. read more

I own a Mini Cooper bought it new with an added warranty with the dealer so for the first 5 years most expenses were under my $3000 extra warranty. This is my second mini. Overall it's a reliable car until it's not when it's around 8 years old. Then the big expenses come. Basically I was used to getting repairs at the dealership but I noticed the last few times their repair fees were inflated. They charge $180 to diagnose when I brought the car in due to warning light for overheating came on. They said thermostat was leaking and hose also needed replacement and their quote was $1,600! No lie. I Googled and it should be around $650. I called around Long Beach to see what repair shops charge knowing that if I went elsewhere I would have to pay the dealership $180 for the diagnose. Danny quoted me half the quote at the dealer and he could get it done in the same day as drop off date. Everything went as discussed and I think I found myself a new car repair shop to go to. The car drives nicely and I would recommend this shop. It is nice to feel like you're not being taken. read more

As said in most of the reviews, Danny and Ethan are exactly the people you want working on your car. They were extremely friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. They delivered on everything they said they would do, were two hours earlier than promised, and actually went beyond what I went there to do at no charge. They buffed out a large white paint spot from a car that swiped me and reinstalled a gas cap cover. The maintenance cost was substantially less than what I guessed it would be. It was my first visit and I left feeling really good about the experience and confident that my car was well cared for. All around great shop. Was looking around for a local shop for my VW Golf instead of the dealership. Used to go to a guy in Studio City for years, but I've moved down to Long Beach. Danny was very helpful when I called for a quote for some repairs (brake pads, CV boot, and brake fluid exchange) and to inquire if they even serviced VWs (they do, some of the reviews said they don't, but in fact, yes they do). Prices were very reasonable - saved me a couple hundred for what I was having done compared to the dealership. I work in LA, so wasn't able to get my car by the time they closed at 5pm, but was able to come by the next morning when they opened to pay and get my car - no problem at all. My 2002 BMW 325CI has almost 205,000 miles on it. But I still really enjoy driving this car and also really enjoy not having a car payment! Recently, I took the car to the dealership where they quoted me an outrageous price. So, I postponed doing the work. Unfortunately, just a few days ago, I tried to start the car and it would die when attempting to accelerate. So, I used YELP to help me find a good BMW service center. I had the tow truck driver take us here. Dominik and his associates could not have been more helpful. He told me what was wrong with the car, what needed to be done to fix the problems, and also gave me a heads up on things needing attention over the next 6-12 months. He quoted me a fair price and, to my pleasant surprise, said I could pick up the car later in the day. Sure enough, problems fixed. When I returned today to have the AC system checked, Tony suggested confirming the AC system had sufficient coolant and, if not, filling it up and seeing if the most simple solution would solve the problem. The local dealership quoted me $3,000 to replace the evaporator. To my pleasant surprise, Tony called back about three hours later, said the AC system was about 65% charged, but he brought it to 100% and felt the AC was running cold now. Sure enough, problem solved. And he DIDN'T CHARGE ME!! You bet I'll be back for the brake service and any other repair needs. Ditch the dealership and spend your money locally with an honest small businessperson! read more

I took my 2006 BMW here a few months ago on the recommendations of Yelp and a friend in real life, who loves the place. They were super nice when I took the car in, I will say that. Anyhow, they did some work, and the next day, the oil light came on. I called in and spoke to the owner, who told me that they had checked my levels, and that the oil levels and such were fine, maybe they hadn't reset the sensor probably, it was nothing to worry about. Fast forward two months, oil light is still going off like crazy, and I bring it to another people love us on Yelp shop (this time in Santa Monica, near work). Turns out, Broadway German Service Center didn't replace the oil filter when they removed it, and luckily the damage wasn't too extensive, since I've been driving it like this the whole time. Before I start you should know I am the kind of guy that won't hand over my keys to a valet. I let my engine fully warm up before heading out, park in the furthest end spot in the parking lot and lose sleep if my car is not spending the night in the garage. Now that that's out of the way: 4 months after my E92 ///M3 warranty expired my battery decided to just go out one day. I jumped the car and headed to the BMW dealership where I was quoted $780 to replace and register the new battery. I swiftly canceled that and headed to Broadway German Service Center. I remember driving by on Broadway and decided to go check it out. I was welcomed and greeted warmly despite noticing they would be closing in 30 minutes. I told them I needed a new battery and they double checked and inspected the vehicle to ensure that was in fact what was wrong. I was quoted $300 for the battery and registration which included a 36 month free replacement warranty. Needless to say I happily authorized the work. After the replacement and registration of the battery the technician realized there was a fault code on the dash. The Scan Tool read back with "Passenger seat belt resistance out of range". I was asked to bring it back the next morning so that they'd have more time to work on it. I explained this was my only vehicle and that I needed to get to and from work. This is where Broadway German really stepped up: The shop owner promised to give me a loaner to help me during their resolution of what should have been an in and out job. The next morning I came in and the owner handed me the keys to his personal E46 ///M3. He said come back when you finish up with work and we should have your car all squared away. This kind of support can ONLY be had from a mom and pop shop. He went out of his way not just because I was a fellow ///M owner and auto enthusiast, but because he genuinely sympathizes and cares about his customers. Needless to say, that afternoon at 4pm my car was ready at no extra cost to me. Broadway German has made a lifelong customer out of me.
