Perhaps he was overwhelmed due to the holidays but I hope if I decide to go back, things will be calmer. I was told that my diagnosis needed immediate attention and was told that my car could be serviced. However when I called the next day to set the appointment, the same person was very rude and short with me, telling me that it would be February before I could get my car serviced there. Took our GS350 to the Toy House after becoming frustrated with the local Lexus dealer's lack of follow through on a diagnosis. As it turns out, their diagnosis requiring a $2100.00 repair would, in fact, not have fixed the problem. The issue, as diagnosed by the expert team at the Toy House was a loose wire in the wiring harness. Suddenly the parts that allegedly needed replacing per the dealership are working fine. This is a family owned and operated business, and they could not be nicer, more efficient, and far more trustworthy than any of the dealerships I've experienced. I made an appointment for a Friday, got there early, and they took my car right back to get started. I had my wheels rotated, oil and lube, changed all filters, new brakes, and brake fluid flushed. They took the initiative to blow the five-year old leaves out from under my hood, and clean my engine. They also buffed out my headlights, which had years of haze built up on them. They only work on those three types of cars, so the rest of you are out of luck. Shop is only open Monday through Friday. While Traveling from Las Vegas, Nevada to Tampa Florida my dad's 2005 Toyota Prius had some red lights pop up. I normally like to get A few different opinions and the first place told us we needed without a doubt a new inverter at a cost of $1200. After calling a few more places I decided to send my dad to the toy house and I couldn't be happier with our decision. Charles took care of my dad unbelievably well he even stayed open later to make sure he got back on the road. The car ended up only needing a new coolant pump for the inverter and at the end of the day the bill was only $400 including an oil change. Thank you Charles. read more

This place is incredible. I as been to 5 different dealerships and mechanics and they all had bad attitudes and wanted to charge me $3400 for a pump that you don't even need. I just walked in here after being referred and Charlie welcomed me, was positive and eager to hear my issues and see how he could help. Before I even got done explaining he already knew the problem. He gave me the exact issue and two different ways to fix it: the expensive Toyota recommended repair or the Toy House honest special. My car was stalling on and off. I took it to toy house. Upon inspection they find out that a air intake hose had become loose and no longer was attached to the engine and was creating the problem. They put the hose back on and my problem was solved. They didn't charge me for that. I appreciated their honesty and their friendly and professionalism. I took the vehicle to another shop a day earlier in Brandon and they wanted to charge me $125 just to tell me what is wrong with my car. I have been back to Toyo house for oil change and I am very happy with them for their great work and their friendly attitude. I will definitely recommend toyo house to anyone. Lexus, Toyota or Scion owners...the saying goes "the best compliment you can give is a referral." I am absolutely referring Toy House for any service or repairs on your car! This is a family run business and they are always extremely honest, friendly and competitive in pricing. They tell you like it is and I am confident in their skills and service. I go there for everything, even a basic oil change. It is almost 10 miles each way, and for S. Tampa people that is really far! But that is how much I value their service. I love my GS 300 and after 10 years and 156,000 miles I'm thankful to have only needed the typical maintenance and service you would expect with the age and mileage (oil change, tire rotation, brakes, starter...) I normally go to the dealership for service on my Rav4, but now that it's out of warranty I was open to alternatives. My sister suggested I try this place out and I was not disappointed. The brothers that run the place are warm and welcoming. Matt, handles the front (from what I could tell) and did a great job of communicating expectations. I expected it to take all day since I walked in without an appointment, but the team had it done before we finished lunch. Last week the most recent. Toyota wanted $954 for parts and labor for repairs I didn't even need. I brought my car in to Matthew and Charlie... $124! It only needed some maintenance, not expensive repairs. Great guys, honest guys... they won't charge you for repairs that aren't necessary and they won't over-charge you. These guys are the best. They have done work on both of our prius Toyotas. Took my car in the morning around 9:30 and they had it fixed and I was back on the road in just a few hours. And I had an unusual problem, someone used a battery that was not made for my car and the harness terminal would not fit on the battery that is meant to be in my car. Not a problem for the guys. They got me the terminals I needed and replaced my bad battery with the right one for my car and did some other work I requested to be done. These guys do not over charge. I have been going here for service for our 2002 Lexus es300 since 2012. This is a highly honest and trustworthy family run business, and they do excellent work. Matt and Charlie and the rest of the staff are great easygoing people. There is no slick salesman song and dance here. I moved to Spring Hill this past year and still make the trip to have my car worked on here. Its worth the extra drive for me to know that they have my best interest in mind for my car and they would never recommend unnecessary service for my car, just to make a buck. We may be replacing the Lexus this year , but I am looking at buying another Toyota product in order to be able to still have my car serviced here. Not sure why there is the one negative reveiw. Maybe the gentleman did not like hearing what was necessary to correct his problem the right way and wished it was a simple fix. read more

Beware of this shop. A 10 minutes job will costs you a 2 hours charge. I was quoted $200.00 for assembling the coil spring and front shocks together. This will require assembling the coil spring and front struts together. I was told it will take 2 hours meaning, 1 hour per strut just to assemble? I asked them do you do it manually? the guy said they have the machine to compress the spring, but I was still baffled me that it will take them 2 hours? I do understand the economics of business but this is over price. Guess what? I found a shop that compressed the spring and assembled it in 10 minutes. for $60 for both. Yes folks. it took 5 minutes each to assemble and compressed the spring. I was watching him do it. So telling me it will take 2 hours is wrong and misleading to the customer. Well I guess If you have expendable money and rich, go ahead and use this shop. read more

I drive an old 99 Avalon and they work on my car my husband drives a 98 Corolla they work on his car my mom Solara is a 2001 and they work on it. Matt is the owner and he has quite a few mechanics and workers and they are all super super nice and understanding. And for all you women who are afraid that a mechanic will screw you or try to get something over on you that will not happen here. Matt himself is a family man and he would never want that to happen to his wife or his mother. and if you have to drive a little further to get to them believe me in the long run it will all be worth it.
