Service writer (Randy) was nice but inept as he could not not print out my paperwork (which I need for my company vehicle) so I called back two days later. After three calls and reaching Randy's full voicemail, I still can't not receive an emailed receipt. I will not shop (I purchased a 2017 Tundra) or use this service moving forward. This is a review of the sales department, not service department. Let me start off by saying I probably would have given the sales department a 5/5. It was easy to place a deposit. I was bummed they initially offered me $5k less on my trade in then all the other dealerships, but we were able to come to a compromise and the salesman was otherwise very easy to work with. My vehicle arrived way earlier then I expected which so was pleasantly surprised. It was easy to come pick up my new vehicle and did not take long. The reason for my lower score was the financing contract. ****review your loan agreement before you sign and walk out of the door*** We had no problems with the sales contract and agreed upon sales price. The salesman gave me the financing APR for the different loan terms for a new car special through Toyota financial. Great, I told him which loan term I wanted and he took me to the finance person. I was surprised to find out that my monthly payment was higher then I expected. When asked about it they had written my loan agreement 5% higher then what I had discussed with the salesman. After pointing this out, they were quick to fix this. However, had I not pointed this out, then I would have walked out with a 5% higher APR. ***review your sales and loan agreements before you sign and leave*** read more

Today I had the worst experience in the Toyota Direct Service department over a span of 9 years as a loyal customer. I have a 2013 Prius with 75K miles on it, & have always serviced the car at Toyota Direct with wonderful customer service & great results. Their employees have been helpful, kind, respectful, experienced, patient, & most of all, thorough, until today. I arrived at my 8:15 am appointment for a multi-point inspection, oil change, & requested estimate on replacing the disintegrating weatherstripping around my sunroof, which is now letting in moisture resulting in frost and ice on the inside of my front window in the mornings. Upon checking in, the customer service agent, Randy, told me I didn't need the oil change because I only need them every 10K now. However, upon driving in, the computer noticed my tires out of alignment so I needed an alignment for $149.00 (agreed to). He also told me I should flush the brake lines for $249.00, and have the fuel lines and injector cleaned (no price offered)--both declined. I then told him I would be waiting in the lobby. After two hours of waiting with no communication from the service rep, as has always been customary in the Toyota Direct service department (usually within 30-45 minutes after arrival), I walked into the customer service area to ask him what was taking so long because I was getting frustrated with the wait. The response? ..."what was that thing called that was wrong with your car again?" I told him I was primarily there for the weatherstripping issue. "That's right", he said, then told me the mechanic literally just left after talking to him about my car, but they needed to figure out if the weatherstripping could be replaced on its own or if the entire sunroof needed to be replaced. About 5 minutes later, he came to the waiting area to tell me it would cost $2900 to replace the sunroof and explained why the entire sunroof would have to be replaced due to how it's constructed. Funny how it only took 5 minutes for them to figure that out after I complained that I was sitting in the lobby for 2 hours with no information. Obviously I told him I couldn't afford $2900 and would decline the fix. He then left without saying another word about the results of the multi-point inspection or the wheel alignment. 35 minutes later, he came back out to tell me the car was done and asked if was I paying cash or credit. Wait! What about the multi-point inspection? What did you discover? What else might my car need service-wise? He proceeded to start the financial transaction without even walking me through the service invoice. I told him I wouldn't be paying for anything until I could see what happened in the multi-point inspection and what service my card needed. I read the service report myself. He did not attempt to walk me through it, as is customary before check out. As I was reading, he told me I needed new tires and they were running a special if I wanted to replace them in the near future. What he didn't say, but I read in the service plan/invoice, was that the cabin and engine filters needed to be replaced! I asked why they would need to be replaced and he said they get dirty and affect the performance of the car. "Are mine dirty?" Yes, he said. But why did he not come to me in the waiting area and tell me this in the 2 hours and 45 minutes I was there? He said it was because he knew I was in a rush to leave. I NEVER told him I needed to leave, I only told him I was annoyed that he left me sitting there for two hours with no updates. Then, for the final insult, after I paid the invoice, instead of handing me my keys, he dangled the keys in front of my face and didn't even tell me where my car was parked. I asked him where I could find it and he said "out the side door". What side door? The entire place had been renovated and I didn't know what he meant. He then pointed to the exit door where the mechanics were entering the garage. Why would I ever go back? I've never been treated so disrespectfully at TD. Unbelievable. read more

I was fortunate enough have Fadi Hamid as my salesman. Just down to earth and super cool guy. I never once felt pressured the whole time and he was just a overall great guy to talk to. He went above and beyond from me and I buy a brand new car every year so I know and met them all. He was hands down the best guy I have ever worked with. As a matter of fact I didn't buy my truck that day but it was the next day and never once did I feel uneasy about the purchase. TLDR: Don't come here if you actually want your problem diagnosed correctly. Karley has a long way to go with courtesy and customer service skills, Mindy inserts herself into conversations. Cliff is the only guy at the place who cares about anyone or anything. Every time I come to this place they can never correctly diagnose my car. At this point I should learn my lesson and not come here. The staff are pretty rude, specifically Mindy and Karley Bowers. Karley will try to replace things in your car that do not need replaced and is very condescending in her customer service attempts. The girl employees stand around the desks and talk about customers in a negative way and it made me feel uncomfortable knowing that they probably talked about me like that when I left. Jeremy tried to care as a manager, but did not succeed. I came in March for my AC and they made me replace the dials (didn't need replaced) but it turns out my compressor was bad the whole time. He couldn't do anything for me bc he didn't know why I didn't come back immediately. Maybe bc it was March and I didn't need my AC/ couldn't tell if it was working? What a cop out answer for someone who doesn't want to take accountability for his employees poor judgement. Well I had to pay 1300 for the dials that didn't need replaced and 1500+ for the compressor. The only nice guy who cares about customers that works here is Cliff. When you purchase a brand new Rav4 you would think that the company you purchased from would give you great customer service. I setup an appointment online for 530 pm to see what's wrong with my heated seats and do an inspection before my long road trip. I arrive early and meet with the service desk to describe the issues with my car. First response is "you are dropping off the car overnight correct". Ummmm no, and I selected that when I setup my appointment online. Then I proceed to explain the issue and I get a reply that if the heated seat is working now but wasn't working the other day, there's nothing we can do. Ummmm No, that is a horrible response. If there is something wrong with my brand new 1 year old car, you should look at it and do everything you can to ensure it's in good working order. I did not like the interaction just because they are short staffed or busy. Not my problem. You are a huge company and I'm the customer. Your excuses or reasons is not my concern. I pay for a service and that's it. Not professional and Toyota should do better with their service or cars if they can't fix things potentially wrong with the car. read more

If I could this would be a negative review. Went in for service on my 2016 Camry and had a long wait. Decuded to look at a new Rav 4 Hybrid. Worked with a lovely salesmen but stock was low so he looked to see what was coming in that for my criteria. Found something was told to come back in a month. Was told the only way I could buy a new car was if I had a trade in since stock was so low. We came back with 2 cars to trade in. Both in good condition. KBB valued them at $20,000 conservatively. The sales manager Phil Ennis looked them both over and proceeded to tell my husband our 2013 Camry was in an accident and we were hiding it. That was not true. He offered us $12,000 for both cars non-negotiable. Even our salesman was mortified. I wrote a letter to Toyota corporate who proceeded to send it to Toyota direct to call me. To say they were unhelpful is kind. They could have cared less. The GM was suppossed to call me and never did. DO NOT USE THE DEALERSHIP THEY ARE RIPOFF ARTISTS. Worth driving a little further to a different dealership. I would not buy a car from this dealership if they were my last option. I spoke with the salesman Thomas Wiley originally in October to buy a Corolla. We were wanting a hybrid but none were available. He stated he would watch for me and let me know when one was available. I found one available on their website so I called the dealership. I again was sent to Thomas. I asked him about the car. He asked if I had a trade. I said no. He said the car was available but was very flippant in his attitude. Now, I personally don't want to give commission to a person who could care less about me as a customer. So I called back and asked to speak to the sales manager. Malick the sales manager came to the phone and I explained the situation. He said that he will not sell me the hybrid model without a trade in. Been using this service department since 1984 and until now have received excellent service. I scheduled 2 cars for service and brought in a 2012 Camry first. The place has been renovated and expanded to 6 garage doors and several more service writers desks-none of whom I recognized when I arrived-all filled with new people. I have never complained about anything in all of the years I've been coming for service, but let me tell you about my experience. I brought the Camry first and met with a young service writer. Immediately she tried to sell me an engine decarb and a coolant flush which I declined and then asked for my serpentine belt to be replaced. She told me that they would check it out and see if it needed replaced and if not they wouldn't do it. You want to sell me services that aren't critical at the moment but don't want to replace a belt that should have been recommended to be replaced long before it reached 181,500 miles. I told her I didn't want to wait to be towed in to have it replaced. She conferred with the young man sitting next to her who told her to write it up. I was handed a quote for $120.00 which seemed reasonable. When she came to have me check out, the new price on the invoice was $238.49. She told me she made a mistake on the original quote. Would I have approved it had I been approached and asked if that was ok? Definitely not and would have been given a lower price like I've seen happen so many times before while in the waiting area. But I was never asked. My wife brought my 2019 Rav4 in for a multi- point inspection. I met her at the car with a different young service writer who asked what we needed. I told him that car was in for a multi-point inspection. He looked puzzled and asked if I was buying the car. I then explained what the multi-point inspection was. He took me past the desks and told me to wait in the waiting room and he'd come and get me when it was done. About 30 minutes later he came and got me telling me my car had a "clean bill of health". I received no paperwork with this visit for this car (no checklist) or anything which made me believe the car was never looked at. I received an emailed survey only for the Camry which confirms the Rav4 was never looked at-just parked around the corner for a while. That is extremely concerning. Both cases have severely damaged my trust. I mentioned my dissatisfaction in the Camry survey and expected someone would be contacting me but that never happened. So, the after-service surveys are useless. Unless I can receive assurance that this won't happen again, I won't be back for anything but parts. I sent this same message to a service manager and got no response. Clearly Toyota Direct doesn't care about its customers anymore. read more

My wife took our Highlander in to check out a grinding noise and was told it needed a new rear differential, at a minimum of $5800 for parts and labor...and the quote said, "will still need rechecked for any other noise after replacement." I took the car to Harris Automotive in Westerville for a second opinion. It wasn't the rear differential, it was a wheel bearing. Parts and labor $750. I've finally had it. I have been taking my 4runner there for over six years and in the past two years I have seen the dramatic decreases in the craftmanship of the work and their attention to detail. For the past 5 services I had them perform, I've needed to take my truck back for three of them. If you do elect to take your car or truck to them for service, plan to do a post-inspection before driving off. Also, know what services are due to prevent being sold unnecessarily ones. Reasons for my rating. -Had new wiper inserts installed. The tech did not tighten the bolt for the rear wiper and the wiper failed to fully retract potentially burning out the wiper motor. - Had front breaks replaced and they squeaked for months afterwards because they were not properly greased. -Being told I needed unnecessary services such as "pre-emptive" alignments and services that had already been preformed within the past 12 months. - Valve caps not being installed after getting new tires. - Being asked to come back because the tech left a tool under my hood. - -Missing key to wheel locks after a tire rotation. I've given them many chances because they are literally 5 mins from my house. However, I just bought a new truck and will drive an extra 30 mins to take it to a different dealer because I don't want them to lay a hand on it. read more

I had to file a lemon law claim against this dealer. When I took it in for service the 3rd time they didnt document the service making it harder for me to file the claim. I was just at this dealership Toyota Direct this past Saturday 3/16/24 for service maintenance on my car and I thought I was only getting an oil change, and getting my windshield wipers replaced and also discussed having a wheel alignment done and to have them set tires to the proper inflation. My appointment was set for 9:15 AM and I got there around 9:10 AM and when I checked in I swear they didn't say anything to me about any tune up or that this tune up was going to cost me like $500. I was only expecting to have maybe $200-$300 worth of work done not spend over $800+ dollars and I was there for over 4 hours to top it off. Even after getting my car back the tire pressure light is still on which makes me even wonder if they did add any air in my tires. Needless to say after seeing the bill I don't think I'll ever be bringing my car back there to have it serviced over priced and they added services that I don't remember them ever really discussing with me had I know they put down a tune up that was $500 I would have told them no that I didn't want it. By the time it was all said and done I had to finance the services because the amount they charged was so ridiculous over the top $819.33 in total and out of that they charged me $621.74 in labor and I didn't get out of there until after 2:00 PM. I'm totally pissed off on this. Warning!! To other customers beware of being taken advantage of that's all I can say. I bought A 2013 BMW X5 at this place and was told they performed an oil change on it before I took it. 3 Months later It starts driving funny so I take it To Kelly BMW and they tell me the oil has Metal shavings in it and the engine needs to be replaced because there wasn't any oil in it or lubrication for the engine to run normal. They also told me there wasn't any oil leakage which means there wasn't an oil change done when I bought it. So I call Toyota Direct and they basically told me its not there problem and was very rude. Mind you I just bought this car with my hard earned money and was expecting to have this car for years. they had no compassion or understanding about what just happen to me and my family but when I was giving them the money everybody in the build was extremely nice. i had an appointment scheduled today. I showed up on time. The man who took my keys told me to go through the double doors. I walk in and no one helped me. i approached someone at the desk and he avoided looking at me. Then I said, "hello? can I get checked in." He said someone else would be with me in a moment. Then I stood there for around 20 minutes and no one helped me, looked at me, or even explained to me why it was taking so long. Then one of the staff suddenly pointed at me and said, "you." Then shuffled me to a desk at the end to finally be checked in. When I have come in the past, they person I worked with always applied a coupon to the service I needed, whether I had a physical coupon or not. That is what is called good customer service. This man said he doesn't apply anything unless i have a coupon and I could try to find them online myself. He knows what yhe coupon codes are, he just wanted to be a jerk. The sales person proceeded with his sales pitch to try and get us down there tomorrow and the sale pitch about financing and trade-in will determine the overall initial price of the car. When I informed him we are not trading in a vehicle or using his financing and wanted his best price (now after closing), he wanted to speak to his manager and call us back. 17 minutes later he calls us back from his car to tell us (rudely mind you) that the car had been sold, which he had already told us he had it prior in his initial call and in a confirmation of availability email we received prior to his call. Based on how he acted, his attitude, how the whole thing went down, AND the car still being listed on the site, I highly doubt that the vehicle has been sold and that he simply wanted to go home. I was not willing to drive 3+00 round trip to go up there if he was not willing to discuss pricing. EXTREMELY disappointed in the salesmanship and customer service. For the Collision Center. This team was on their game. I wanted to come in for an estimate, but they told me to wait on the adjuster to get me an estimate first. I wanted to drop it off on a Wednesday, but they said wait until a Monday. This may sound like they kept making me wait. The truth is they deal with insurance companies daily, and there is a process to follow. They were merely saving me precious time by not getting held up. Drop offs are after your ordered parts are on site. Rental cars must start on a Monday so as to avoid paying for an un-needed weekend. TD will update you along the way by Talk or text. TD will guide you through rental car service. Payment was simply handing them the insurance check, and they would collect the remainder. Since there was hidden damage that required more parts to be ordered, I asked TD for a favor. Could they please ask service to evaluate my vehicle for all current recalls. Since the vehicle was drive-able and waiting on parts, it was no problem at all. That was another time saver. When the vehicle was ready, the rental was left at TD for pick up. There was a walk around and detailed explanation of the work done on the vehicle. It covered things to watch for or listen for. Nothing was anticipated but he wanted me to be assured. I was so happy for factory parts instead of replacement parts. No "buffing out" or "over-sprays". 2 weeks later now, and not a single creak or groan from the area. I will definitely return if a future event should dictate. read more

I take my 04 Toyota Sienna in to have the starter replaced, since the AAA driver confirmed that it was a defective started. At the service department, I explained all of this to the associate and she said they would want to do a diagnostic on the vehicle to confirm. After finding out to perform a simple starter replacement would cost me $698, I decided to take the van elsewhere. I was then told that since the repair was not done, I owed $147.20 for the diagnostic I did not approve. (By the way, the diagnostic is a guy standing with a camera pointed at the engine explaining the head gasket has some leaks, power steering fluid is low, and some axle issues. All of this the oil change service at Walmart has already told me at no extra charge!) They also took the liberty to delay the repair process to address outstanding service bulletins without my request, consent, or approval. This department has definite communication issues, however they pale in comparison to the greater lack of morals and business ethics. I will never return to this dealership! read more

If I was planning to buy Toyota vs Honda, Toyota Direct's service department made the decision easy for me. Sorry to say, they have the worst customer service I had ever seen. I lived in Iowa, Michigan, Texas and always had a nice experience dealing with Toyota's service department. But Toyota's Direct in Columbus OH, John, the person I talked to, even cut our conversation short and refused to service my car because I wanted conventional oil instead of synthetic. While I understand that synthetic is recommended and has its advantages, as a client I have the right to choose whatever I want on my vehicle. I tried to talk to the manager, he has not return my call. Conclusion: Since Toyota makes great cars they still to be serviced, I don't want to deal with Toyota's Direct anymore.
