I have not had our Toyota's serviced at this location for quite some time due to the poor quality of the service personnel, and we bought two Toyota's from this location in 2020. Since the ownership changed, I wanted to try this location again. I was disappointed that the $29.95 oil/filter change standard was replaced with an 80% higher price. Also, it took almost two hours to finish a 60k mile oil/filter chang, tire rotation and inspections. The service advisor apologized for the delay and indicated they were trying to hire more technicians for more timely service. They did fix a small dent in my plastic rear bumper, which was great (the Ann Arbor Toyota dealer told me that they "don't do body work" and dismissed my request, so I'm not going there anymore). read more

I honestly do not think I have ever interacted with such an incompetent, dishonest group of people in my life. Friday night: car dropped off for service to fix whining sound when AC is running. told it would be ready by Saturday evening. Less than 30 min after drop off, i recieve a call saying it would not be ready till monday night. Inconvenient but whatever, expected from a dealership. Monday night: I drop off my rental, and get back in my vehicle. Of course the first thing im going to do is run the AC, and the sounds still very much there. No help from any service advisors, basically telling me all these different things the sound could be, and that i could leave my car there to be "fixed" again.... Long story short, my car sat for 3 days and im convinced that they didnt do a damn thing except drive around in it because my gas tank was almost empty when i picked up. read more

I had an awful service experience with Toyota west. I was charged $180 by the service team to confirm that my alternator was in need of a change. The only reason I brought the vehicle in was to see if it was covered under my warranty, I told them it was an alternator when I got there but they insisted the mechanic needed to do a diagnostic. Okay that's fine....turns out it was not covered (fantastic!) still have to pay $180!! Oh well, shouldn't be an expensive fix however....unless, you're at Toyota west. I was then quoted $2300 for the repair. (Rip off!) I took it to a family friend and had a lifetime warranty alternator put in for $450! Including labor and parts. Crazy how the quotes can be almost $2000 apart. I had been servicing my vehicle with toyota west for the last 2 years and I will not be back. read more

Very unhappy had an appointment sat there for 2 hours for an oil change ask them to look at a spot on the carpet that my clutch was causing a wear mark and was not told that they pulled the extra pieces of carpet I had to protect the main carpet out asked to have the vehicle washed and when I came out they could not even get the bugs off the windshield or off the grill their customer service really sucks read more

Took about a million years to get anything done, getting info out of anyone was like pulling teeth. The entire experience was painful and took all the fun out of getting a new car. Not to mention some of the things I wanted were still not done once I FINALLY (4 months later) got my car, but I didn't have the time or energy to continue the back and forth. It was unorganized and an overall negative experience for me personally. All the employees I interacted with were nice enough, just not overly helpful in the ways I needed them to be. I went to Toyota West to get the oil changed on my 2011 Avalon. I made a 7am appointment and the staff was ready for me. They took a little over an hour to change the oil and to check the car over in general. They found that I needed a new battery and brakes. I got the battery and said I would get the brakes later. They did a complimentary car wash and had sent me a coupon to get 25% off the cost of my service. It was all good. They followed up with an email thanking me for my patronage. Definitely going back. I rated my service as "good" only because, although the service contact, Lisa was awesome in explaining the issue that I brought my car in for, tire sensors. She explained how it works in detail, something I would like to have done on each visit so I can better understand my car. But when calling me about what else needed done that day, and I'm sure the Technician had told her this, but it was told to me that I needed my coolant and transmission fluid done. I agreed to the coolant and said I would do the transmission fluid later on. I partial blame myself, because I should have looked at my notes on what I have had done on my cars. I looked the following day and noticed that I had already had the coolant and transmission fluids done 3 months ago! So explain to me why I was told they needed done again when coolant does not need done for at least 2 years or every 30,000 miles! I have not gone 30,000 miles in 3 months as I drive two cars to even out my mileage. Moving forward, I will be looking at my notes before agreeing to any type of service on my car. As a first time buyer and having several people in my family owning Toyotas. I went into this dealership thinking I would have a good quality time. However, that was not the case. I was told by a gentleman named Steve, who contacted me the day of my appointment, that I was confirmed to have my meeting with James. I talked to James initially to set up a time to come in. But, when I arrived I was never approached by James. I dealt with a lady named Carmen. I sat down to ask questions, as a first time buyer should. It's a car that cost a lot of money...I should be able to ask questions. Carmen was very short with me because of this. Didn't give me the time of day I thought she would. I was there to look at 2023 models of the RAV4. When I mentioned that, she only offered me to look at a used 2021 RAV4 with 13,901 miles. After telling her I wanted to look at new. She then told me 2023 models were made to order and that they had none on the lot. Which could be true with product shortages like everywhere else. Then I finally asked to get the value of my car I wanted to trade in. After about 5 mins of looking she came back in and offered me half of what a used car dealership did. I left unsatisfied and for my first ever car shopping experience at a dealership it made me think twice about who Toyota has working for them. I cannot say enough good things about the experiences I've had here. I've purchased several vehicles here and all of my experiences have been great, but this last experience with Sal was easily the best. I've been super sick lately with an ongoing illness and he worked with me to get all of the paperwork done for my lease buyout over the phone and through email so I only had to go in to sign with the finance guy. He even offered to bring the papers to me if I wasn't able to make it to the dealership. I was SO impressed!!! I was in and out in 30 minutes when I made my purchase! Tl;dr - this dealership excels in neither diagnosis nor fixing of car problems nor customer service. They were wrong multiple times and they were downright rude about it. We bought a used Toyota from a local dealership in Philadelphia and drove to Columbus for a family event only a few weeks later. The car died a few minutes from the destination, so we had it towed to Toyota West. Toyota West diagnosed it as a snapped shifter cable, due to the car being driven in first gear at highway speeds. This is ludicrous, not just because a car would scream at such treatment, but because my husband has been driving manual since he was 15. He's the last person to make that kind of error. They said it would be $1,000, and fixed it, and then tried to test the car, and discovered oops! Wrong diagnosis. The entire transmission was dead! They'd be happy to replace it for another $6,000. At this point we were approaching the purchase price of the car, but it was within the warranty period, so we put them in touch with the original seller dealership inPhilly, and let them sort it out. It took no less than 2 weeks for them to do so. I kid you not. It took 2 weeks before Toyota West called us and said our car had a rebuilt transmission, but we *could not* come get it because our local dealership hadn't paid yet. Since they had no plan to inform our dealership of this, we had to relay the info back and forth for them, until the payment was processed. Then my husband headed out to get the car. Right outside Pittsburgh, the car started making a familiar noise. Luckily, he was right uphill from Spitzer Toyota, and was able to coast the car downhill to the service department there. The Spitzer Service department ran the engine codes and discovered that the solenoid that communicates with the transmission had an error. This solenoid had probably killed two transmissions. But Toyota West hadn't even bothered looking. We called Toyota West to inform them that their work had failed under warranty, and the response from Toyota West was "Well if you want to use their diagnosis instead of coming back here, you'll have to cover the $250 fee for it." At this point, Spitzer, who exceeded Toyota West in both mechanical acumen and customer service, told them to STFU and they'd work this out without charging us another dime. They put my husband in a brand new truck and sent him home. They fixed the solenoid and the transmission in a couple of days, and once again my husband went out to collect the car. The car hasn't failed since, and we never saw a bill. In short, Toyota West was both rude and wrong multiple times, and I would never recommend going to them unless you are as desperate as we were. read more

Toyota West consistently performs in their service department. I purchased my 2016 4Runner here and have taken it for service here every time. They are really good at telling me what needs done now or what can wait. We will likely purchase our next vehicle from them as well. I do think they could do better at wait times. My last service was for an oil change and tire rotation only but I had to wait about 2 hours. It's much longer if other things might need done. However, they are all friendly and professional. I was taken back by the amount of patrons and staff who were not wearing masks inside the building. We are under a mask mandate with the highest number of cases seen to date during the COVID 19 pandemic. I think Toyota West could do a better job of enforcing this. read more

Once again, if you are alleging to be focused on correcting an issue or wanting to hear about customer service failures, then don't have the extension dedicated for this to not accept messages. My airbag light has been on for about 5 years or so. They were able to get the part in overnight at no extra cost and fix the car within 48 hours. All for a repair that most other shops told me they wouldn't even touch. I was treated fairly and honestly throughout the entire process, and got a run down of the status of the car to boot! TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE I called Toyota west and spoke with Andrew 3 different times about prices for a RAV4 limited. I live 2 hours away from Columbus and we found a Toyota RAV4 limited we loved locally. I was calling to price check. Andrew gave me a price of $45 less per month than our local dealership. So naturally I drove the 2 hours to get this amazing price. I get there and I am greeted by Bob. We go look at the Toyota RAV4 limited I had called about. Go in to run the numbers and the price is more than our local dealership. Not the $45 less that Andrew told me. Bob gave me attitude and acted as if I was stupid for having that price. He went and got Andrew and Andrew just said he must have made a mistake. I then spoke with Nick the manager and he just said they couldn't possibly reach the price I was given on the phone. No one apologized, the deal was not honored and my sales rep Bob was very rude. I think they told me the wrong price to get me up there so I would buy a car there anyway. It was a complete waste of my day. I would under no circumstance shop here or recommend that anyone else does either. UPDATE:it is now the end of March and I have heard nothing from them. They responded to the review saying they would contact me. That was a lie. Nothing was done in an attempt to make this terrible experience better. read more

When i bought the car there were a few thing to fix on and they didn't detail it before putting it out on the lot. They called me the Monday after I purchased the car saying they had all of the parts to fix my car. I arrived Thursday expecting everything to be fixed. Was there from 12-3pm. When I got to my car nothing on it was fixed and they didn't bother to clean it. I called them on my way home asking what they actually did to my car for 3 hours, all I got was a "sorry". I got a new appointment about a week later. The parts that were broken, were fixed. However, the car was still dirty so they still didn't bother detailing. JD, the salesman, was very pleasant and I had no issues working with him. My issue strictly involves the service department. read more

I usually don't have a very good experience when I visit a dealership, so I was surprised when I walked in and was met by Rawinder Singh. He was so kind and helpful from the get go. He was completely honest and straight forward about everything. From the test drive, to negotiating in price, and getting the number we wanted it was a pleasant experience. The finance gentleman(I'm drawing a blank on his first name, but his last name was Humphreys) was so helpful and understanding and he made signing all the paper work less daunting. Took my Tacoma in today. And when I arrived they knew nothing about the vehicle when it's been with them before. I was asked for a wheel lock key. And while doing so the advisor said I'm going to automatically decline these services with out telling me what they are or the price. And when asked he says uh uh uh 80 uh for each one. Then I asked how long for the service he said 45mins to a hour.A hour rolls around nothing two hours rolls around I text the service advisor he said it was done. All the other advisor's went and told there customers I had to look for mine after two hours . Then reviving the paperwork it's been done for 30 mins. They didn't offer to stamp my Toyota service booklet. Didn't go over my service. Failed to tell me I have a open recall on my truck. They didn't even reset the service required light.... read more

The main service technician said that I needed new brakes, and when I asked for the measurement details, it turned out I did not need new brakes. I bought a used car (pick-up truck) on 5/12/21 from Toyota West and it's been quite regretful. A week after the truck was purchased we had issues. It has been taken to Mark Wahlberg Chevrolet for the majority of the services because in June when taken to Toyota they could not find the leak that was causing water to get inside and all over the seats, doors, windows, it was a mess. After $550.00 the Chevrolet dealership was able to figure out the root cause of the issue. Mind you this was just a month after purchasing the vehicle. It was taken again in August 2021 for other repairs and in January 2022. In February 2022 we noted a loud noise from the engine and scheduled with Toyota West. As of 2/12/22 they confirmed the engine was bad and it needed replaced. Thankfully we bought an extended warranty that covered the engine with a deductible of $250. During this time I had to call numerous time just to get an update because the app to track your vehicles repairs provided no real time update to our truck. I had made complaints due to the lack of follow-up and lack of returning our calls. The service advisor notified us there was a delay with the reman engine and it would take a few more weeks, additional costs were added because they indicated the extended warranty did not cover it , which I agreed because I just wanted my car back. The total to pay was $688.59, though in reality I didn't believe I should have an out of pocket cost for an engine that went bad and all of the additional add on because it should have been covered by the warranty. I finally got the call it was ready and I picked up the truck on 3/29/22 almost 2 months after it was taken in. I was charged $988.59. After realizing I was charged incorrectly this amount, I went back to service, I informed the representative and requested a refund, which was later issued for $300.00. On March 30th the check engine light turned on and the vehicle was taken again to the dealer on 3/31. The lack of communication and follow-up has been mediocre. It is absolutely terrible. The fuel injectors needed replaced and we have to dish out an additional $1200.00. My husband visited the service department on 4/25 and after meeting with what appears to be the service manager they assured him that they will take care of the repairs and we would have the truck no later than Wednesday or Thursday of that same week. It is May 3rd and not one person has called us to update us or returned any of our calls. The lack of communication and responsibility leaves much to be desired. They have failed to deliver on a promise and it speaks volume of what you word representS. Not even a year has gone by and the amount of money I have paid on repairs and service exceed over $3,500. I'm seeking help and to be heard. I have been patient enough. this has been such a vitter experience and Im still without a vehicle and not one person has returned my calls. read more

I am just new to Columbus and try to find a trustworthy car dealer to purchase my first car in the states. I believe Toyota should be a good choice and I made a trip to Toyota West on Nov 8th, 2021. I made my decision quickly since the salesperson (M.W) kept telling me the car is on its way here in a week. So, I paid for the 2021 RAV4 Hybrid XLE just to try to assure the quality and services quicker and better from them. I did not receive a call until I start to notice that the car sales start giving excuses for delivery time. Firstly, he could not keep as said delivery time on Nov 12(Fri)-13(Sat), he said he couldn't access the delivery schedule only management does. So, I mailed to GM Aaron, and the salesperson called me for confirmation of Nov15-17 and he gave an excuse that Toyota made no promise for delivery time. Okay, by chasing the salesperson every other day, finally it's 17th. I've messaged him a couple of times for reconfirmation and to meet before noon on the 17th. Guess what? No Show again!! No response to voice messages. No return calls. I've called customer services trying to get an explanation. Until now, I still waiting for their customer services to call...After five hours of waiting, no surprise the salesperson messaged me that he can not control shipment and it happens...ooxx. It delays to 21st-23rd, I am so depressed and lose trust in anyone now. If there is an option to cancel I won't regret doing it. I have to ask for a car rental to commute and drop off/pick up my kid. I knew the car market is in high demand. I paid for a car as a customer not begging for it, why not just give me a time that you can keep your promise "Toyota". read more

I had my car in for service for a recall and when I got it home I found something on the passenger side door. It looked like something had been sprayed on it. I took my car back to.the dealer and he offered me a mini detail which said included inside windows. They did not do the inside windows or at least the front one because the film inside on windshield was still there. Also my rubber mats were not locked down in the front causing them to slide up causing the driver side one to slide up under the pedals.
