Shitty story but must be told. Me as well as dozens of other people preordered from Toys N Motion a month or two ago. Came in today to find out that they were selling etbs for 100, pin box for 25, pikachu box for 55, and tins for 50. I told them I did a pre order (which was told I was paying 50 a box) and they told me that they cant do the preorders bc they are still waiting for more shipment. So to not bitch I waited in line to buy a etb box for 100 bc it's still lower than market. Right when I get to the front of the line, the worker shuts off the register after getting a call from the boss. He then tells me boss will be here in an hour to fix the register. I wait another hour and the owner walks in with 5 more cases. Checks off my name on the list and says I can only buy one etb for 150*** like I was getting a deal or some shit. I shit you not, he changed all the prices right in front of me telling me the other prices were messed up and wasn't suppose to sell for 100. He then changes all the other prices. Etbs- 150 Pin box- 35 Tin - 60 Pikachu box - 55 He goes on saying he only gets 10% of the profit and that the are low on shipment. Which is bull shit bc he gets it straight from the vendor. Wow! What a mistake coming here! Prices here are way over retail and they add mark up too. It was end of the day and the kids were getting antsy. They wanted a toy. I didn't read the reviews and just happen to stumble upon it. I bought my little pony for my daughter $34.99. At best at target or Walmart probably worth $12.99. For my son, faux lego blocks, quality was poor for $19.99. Also, 2x kids mask $4.99 and water bottle $7.99 I think these small items you can get them at the dollar store. At the end, it was a shocker when cashier say $80 and I was floored. I was preoccupied and kids were going bananas. My fault for not looking at the prices but I just assumed they were on sale and comparable like other stores in my head. In conclusion, AVOID, AVOID and AVOID. In January I called into Toys n Motion to pre-order a Pokemon set (Shining Fates) that was coming out in about 1 months time. They quoted that products would be at "msrp" and took my information down, and number requested. Well, come 2 days ago I find out from others that got a call (I didn't even get a call by the way) that the price was $135 for something that retails for $49.99 (cost from distributor must be lower than this as well). This means that they're literally operating at 2.7X the price of a regular store. I understand "SF Bay" pricing and slight markups especially during Covid... but they're price gouging and not honoring prices they've quoted new & loyal customers. This is the worst place to buy any toys from. I bought a $163 drone from Toys N Motion on Oct 1st. While I was finishing the purchase, I asked the cashier whether they have other stores in other malls or their return policy. the cashier told me that this is the only store and there are no other sister stores. They have 30 day return policy. So as the transaction was going thru, i asked them to cancel the transaction, in case if the product malfunctions or my cousins may not be able to return in timely fashion given they have only 30 days to return. the indian cashier was very rude, and almost started to get hostile with me, and did not return the product, rather she had me speak to her owner on the phone. The owner on the phone said, that if anything goes wrong with the product, she takes guarantee and will allow up to one year to exchange the product, but will not refund at any cost. Any how, unfortunately, I had to purchase the product for my cousins who live in Dublin, which is an hour drive, just to find out few weeks later that product was already malfunctioned. Due to the holidays, they didn't get the opportunity to return the product at the said store in Milpitas. They went back on Jan 11 to exchange the product, and were told that the product neither can be exchanged or refunded as they are returning after almost 3 months. My cousins had me talk to the cashier as well, and it was the same indian cashier on the phone, whom I purchased the product from. When i told her that if you can have me speak to the owner who had advised that we would have one year to return or exchange the product should anything go wrong, but the cashier refused for me to speak with the owner and again became hostile to me over the phone, and extremely ill mannered to my cousins who went to exchange the product. She kept the drone, and my cousins are told that it can not be fixed, and money cant be refunded, and they can't exchange it for another drone or any other toy in the store either. Well I lost $163, and my cousins couldn't even get to enjoy the birthday gift. My advice...Please don't go to this store ever. read more

TL;DR; Attempted to exchange brand new, defective drone and controller. Received used replacement controller. Rude customer service who don't understand the meaning of racism and the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution. Received a defective Syma X13 drone. Attempted to return the drone and found the policy was no refunds except due to manufacturer defect and with a 30% restocking fee (is this even legal?). Also, no exchanges as they expect you to leave your brand new defective purchase with them for 7-8 days for repair (you're expected to pay for any necessary replacement parts). This is their store policy. My mother purchased the drone and gave it to my daughter for a bday gift. Just to be clear, she was with me when I brought the drone in, but she wasn't entirely clear on the policy, either. When first approached the two employees (names given were Adam Nader and John), they attempted to test the drone with their controller and showed us that it worked. Of course, they didn't bother asking us what the problem was. It was the controller. Adam then made a remark to me stating that I should have brought my own batteries so they could test. I replied that they should have their own batteries to test with. He proceeded to test and found that the controller didn't work. Since the drone worked with their controller, they decided to give us the working (possibly used) controller. I stated that they should give us a brand new drone, since we bought the drone new. He then referred to their policy, stating that he was being nice to give us a controller rather than make us wait 7-8 days for a fix and by not making us pay for replacement parts (WTF?). We bought it new. We should get a new replacement. My mother pushed me to take what they were offering, and I reluctantly did. I then asked them for a card and it only stated Toys N Motion Inc, with no specific individuals. I then asked for the first employee's name and he stated it was Adam. I thought that was unusual because he was possibly of Indian or Middle Eastern descent, and was most likely not a native born American. I then asked for his last name which he stated was Nader. Then, I asked was his birth first name was and he then got offended and called me racist. Honestly, if he asked me my first name and I said Mohammed or Navjeet, would he think that was unusual? In any case, I didn't believe him that his real first name was Adam. I then asked the other employee his first name and he hesitated before he said John. Adam threated to call the police on me because I questioned his real first name. I called his bluff and swore at him. He then proceeded to tell me I couldn't speak to him that way. They have a no refund policy, which they do not communicate at the point of sale, and which is not clearly posted. (We attempted a refund within an hour of the purchase, before we left the mall. No flexibiity, no acknowledgement that the policy was not communicated other than a very small, partially hidden paper on the kiosk). This place sells overpriced drones sells for $30 elsewhere and $$100 at kiosk. They spend a lot of time setting there's sample grown-ups to fly correctly and they don't tell you that it takes forever to get it to fly right and then every time it crashes you have to reset it again this thing is a pain in the ass and I'm pissed off they only give you a few days to return it and I live 50 miles away from them. It's a game don't buy from them if you're going to buy this drone go online and get it for 1/3 the price. Also when I went to download the software so I could watch what was on the camera on my smartphone it said basically dangerous do not download this software it could harm your phone. Great read more
