Normally, I would not make a big deal out of an occasional extended wait time, but this has happened with this practice MANY times. Anything more than 15 minutes is just unacceptable. We DO have lives outside their practice. FYI, it was 10am by the time I was finished with my 5 minute, appointment.

He is functionally blind and deaf. Wrangling him to the different offices with different measurement machines can be quite the challenge. The entire staff in this facility is awesome. Our visits are on different days of the week and at various times of day. Very seldom do we see the same support staff. The process for the visit is well thought out and understood by all including the patients. Nonetheless, they are all always gentle, patient and supportive. In my 70 years, I have never encountered such a positive culture than I have here. Everyone is super helpful, seems to get along, and works as a cohesive team. I'll even go so far to say, that Bailey and Dylan, who share an office in Imaging, present as best friends. By any measure, a positive experience.

So, I decided to go to Carrot Lasik Eye Center to see if they can do cataract surgery on me. They did all the testing and then Dr. Hammond came in to see me. He explained the procedure and yes, he saw the cataract and he can remove it. Day 1 was doing my left eye, everyone was so nice and caring. The Pre-op area Dr. Hammond came in to see me and check my eye. Then went into the Laser room Dr. Hammond used first then into the Operating room and before you know it, he said done. Day 2 post-op checkup I had eye testing chart done it was 20-25 left eye couldn't believe I was reading the chart with NO glasses. Day 3 we did the right eye, same routine and everyone was wonderful so caring. This procedure is amazing. Dr. Hammond said, done. And would clear more every day. Day 4 post-op checkup, had eye chart test left eye was 20-20 and right eye was 20-40. Dr. Hammond said it would clear more every day and it has. Dr. Hammond and his team at Carrot Lasik Eye Center in Mesa, AZ is terrific and if you have a need for cataract surgery I highly recommend them. This is Day 7 and it's amazing to be able to see clearer, read clearer without glasses. I cry all day long of happiness . After filing a claim against him, his insurance company says he "met the standard of care in his treatment" I would says it was below sub-standard.

He said it didn't sound like anything he was familiar with. I also told him that another optometrist saw swelling in the back of one eye after she dilated it. He said he didn't see swelling or anything else wrong. He never dilated my eyes to look. He said it wasn't necessary because he uses a machine to take a picture, without dilation. Three eye surgeries later, my vision is still greatly reduced. An Opthomologist immediately saw that I had a torn retina and performed emergency surgery to prevent blindness (after she dilated my eyes to look.). I am leaving this review in hopes of saving others from having severe vision loss.

They run pretty efficiently (from our family visits) and for my annual eye exam, I was done in about 30 mins. Dilation can still be done but with my busy schedule, I opt for the Optomap imaging and pay a bit more (~$25) as getting dilated & dealing with it all day is no longer doable. We needed to get some prescription sports sunglasses for the runner in the family. They carried a few of the Prescription Oakley of interest so it was good to go in and physically try them on (unlike online). To be clear, they were not cheap, but we reviewed all the options (tint color, reflection, etc...) and I have to admit, they look pretty sweet!!
