This place is set in a fun summer getaway setting! It is so bright and airy! I love all the orange and summery vibes it gives! It is basically a pool, lounge, bar, restaurant. I came here in February and we sat outside along the pool area. They were hosting a dog adoption event via Take Paws and there were cute pups all around us. Brunch came with the event and I enjoyed the most refreshing brussels salad! It was so good and am still thinking about it today. That salad dressing made it. They had bottomless mimosas for $40 but felt that was a bit steep, so just ordered the one glass of cava. The service was good, the waitress was nice and freindly, and I think the dogies put everyone in a happy mood. The bathrooms are large and clean, they have to account for changing rooms. There is off street parking and it is right next door to cinnaholic! I don't know if it was special or all the time, but on the menu cinnaholic's cinnamon bun was offered as dessert. And since it was Mardi Gras time, it was a king cake version - OMG so gooood!!! This place is cute! I love a good pool party, and even though this one was in January and it was cold, they had heaters outside to keep everyone warm. The food was good, I had the shrimp roll, and the drinks were even better. I tried a few items from the menu, and the drinks were tasty and strong. The DJ was great, and they even had a sketch artist drawing portraits, which was such a fun touch. I can already tell this is going to be one of my favorite spots in the spring. Between the food, drinks, and the pool, I might just be there every weekend! read more

Stopped by Sunnie's for a Saturday pool day. I was fortunate enough to snag a table as a last minute reservation as they book up fast. Such a cute pool area. They had a nice menu. I ordered a frozen watermelon margarita which was so cool and refreshing. The service was slow so I do wish they had more servers but still a pretty good experience. I ordered the Brussels Caesar Salad which from other reviews was popular, but I was underwhelmed. The dressing had no flavor and also didn't taste the other flavors listed on the description. I ordered the lobster and shrimp rolls. I enjoyed those. The bread was really fresh but for $22 I would have loved more lobster and shrimp. The pool was so cool and although it rained the rest of the afternoon I enjoyed my pool day, would definitely come back. read more

Unfortunately, our experience here was less than welcoming. The manager in the pink shirt and hat was incredibly rude and passive-aggressive, claimed an unreserved table was reserved. We were also not informed about several food upcharges, including $8 bacon and additional charges for fries. To top it off, my friend was charged $50 despite me already paying, and when we called, we were told there was no charge despite the charge showing in her account. The fries were good, though, so I guess there's that. If you enjoy surprise fees and being talked down to, this is apparently the place for you. Waiters were excellent! read more

Listen, I love Sunnies already and it's not even summertime when I'm in dire need of a pool. At night, it's a sight to behold. You walk into what appears to be the stylish rec room of a house and it opens right out to the gorgeous, glowing blue pool. Plenty of seating inside if it's too cold (or, in July/August too darn hot) and it all looks out onto that sweet pool scene. Drinks are priced lower than hotel pool bars and I love their day pool pass situation. Very reasonable all around. We were there to just check it out and get a drink, but I could easily see myself spending more time. I do wish there were some plant-based options on the menu other than guac... but sometimes guac is all you need. I also appreciate the really nice staff here, from the moment you're welcomed in by the bartender and then taken care of by the equally generous servers. You can sit at a table inside or out, even if you're not eating. They don't throw shade (listen, it happens even in NOLA and I don't love that feeling that they don't want you taking up a table if you're not getting a full-on spread). So let's give praise to that traditional Southern hospitality that seems to be more and more rare these days. What a cool addition to Freret. And damn how this street has become the new "it" block. This place is so cute! It has a sort of vintage summer vibe. Everyone was so friendly and the food was so good. I had the Brussels Caesar and omg. It's a combo I didn't know I needed. I love a good Caesar salad but I never thought to add charred Brussels sprouts to it. I really liked the cocktail I ordered. It was called the passion project. It was sweet but not too sweet with a bit of tanginess. The outdoor pool area was so cute. They have different happy hour specials. I will be back with my girls for the girl dinner special. I went to Sunnies for a reality tv screening and it was so fun! The drinks were the best part, I thought they were so refreshing and perfect for the mostly outdoor seating/pool vibe. The food was good too, but I would say it's a tad on the expensive side. The melon salad was perfect and I want to recreate it. Service was good, especially for how busy it was. Came here for brunch this weekend. Even though it was November, the pool was still open. Good thing, considering it was 85 degrees outside. We got a few rounds of drinks. I got the Cinnamon Toast Crunch punch and it was good. My friend got the frozen coffee drink and she enjoyed it. Our last round of drinks we got the other frozen drink which reminded me of an Angel Food smoothie from Smoothie King, but with alcohol. The guac dip was a very generous portion and I loved the yuca chips. We all eventually got sliders and they were good. I got the sazerac mason on the side for dipping and my hash browns. My time here was amazing and I would 100% be back. As soon as I walked in I was greeted at the door and offered a complimentary towel. After telling person who greeted me about how I was coming back from long travels he even gave me a free shot to "decompress." I don't drink but I thought the gesture was so sweet and I gave it to the girls sitting next to me who were also grateful! My server Faust was incredibly kind and offered fantastic service. He made sure to check in on me without making me feel pressured to order until I was ready. I started off with the cold brew coffee on tap from hey cafe and it was perfect. For food I did the Brussels Caesar with shrimp. The salad was good - not the best I ever had and the portion was on the smaller side but I was satisfied. Then had two of their n/a beers which was perfect. The pool itself was incredible, the music was great and I met some awesome people as well. I will definitely be coming back again! read more

I would give Sunnies more than 5 stars if I could. It's genuinely my favorite place in NOLA. First- it's a pool. So obviously we're already off to a strong start But beyond that, the frosé is dangerously delicious, all the cocktails are great, and the food is SO good. My personal favorites are the sliders & the burrata plate. And if you happen to catch one of the grill pop-ups, GET THE LAMB LOLLIPOPS. I cannot stress this enough- they are out of this world. The staff are always incredibly friendly, the music is on point, and the vibes are immaculate. It's one of those rare places where I can show up alone and somehow end up making new friends basically every time I go. They're also constantly doing cute/fun stuff like Take Paws events, night markets, DJ nights, Latin nights, & Love Island watch parties; so, there's always something going on without it feeling like they're trying too hard. And Wednesdays are family day, so kids can come enjoy the pool too! Basically, Sunnies has somehow managed to combine everything I want in a place- pool + excellent drinks + delicious food + great music + fun events + lovely humans. 10/10, no notes. From the time we walked in we were greeted with the nicest man who gave us a little tour and we decided to stay and eat outside by the pool to catch some vitamin D. Our server Katie was the nicest! It was such a vibe near the pool. Sun chairs, music playing and good drinks. They did offer bottomless mimosas but for $30 I decided to pass. (Only needed one) The breakfast sandwich was delightful but I took a hash brown from the other dish, place in on there and then it was fire! The 3 sliders were everything I was hoping for. I'm glad there were 3 for the price (I didn't ask, I assumed 2 so that was lovely when it also came out with 2 hashbrowns) The pool is also heated so any day is a good dip in the winter! I had an amazing fall evening at Sunnies. I sat by the heated pool, next to the fire pit. The vibe was chill and the playlist was a nostalgic good time. The service was outstanding, from both the bartender and the waitress. I had red wine, deviled eggs and the lobster rolls. The value on the lobster rolls were amazing and it was one of the best I've had in New Orleans so far. I believe I overheard someone saying this spot opened just 6 weeks ago. We were in the area for the Freret Street Festival and we stopped by to check it out. So eye-catching from the street, and when we walked in, we found such a cute and refined setting with a pool and seating outside. There was a bar and dining area inside, too. I read online that you buy a day pass to swim in the pool, temp controlled salt water pool. They had bites to eat and of course a bar for drinks. We just popped in to look around. This place is run by a very rude manager who has no respect for anyone nor their reservations. DO NOT COME HERE to watch love island be prepared for them to tell you they are at "full capacity" even if your friends make reservations, they do not care. The manager "Jeff" proceeded to call me a "karen" and would not allow me inside while my friends who had reservations were already there. Most unprofessional and disrespectful service I have ever experienced in my entire life. The "manager Jeff" needs to learn how to respect women and have some professionalism. Calling someone a "Karen" for simply explaining a misunderstanding because they have friends there with a reservation is just beyond rude. What is the point of making a reservation if you will not honor it? They claimed they were at "full capacity" but you can see from my picture they clearly were not. My friends also said the food here was not even very good and the pool was dirty. Highly recommend going to other places uptown to enjoy a nice pool day like the Chloe. read more

Possibly the most disappointing meal i have ever had. the guacamole had no seasoning and no diced onions or tomatoes only whole grape just thrown on top it was just mashed avocado not guacamole. and the chips weren't tortilla chips they were some weird fried flatbread which wouldn't be a problem if it tasted good but it was gross. the steak was well done and i ordered medium rare. it was unseasoned and they drizzled the sweet glaze from the brussels sprouts on the steak so i was served a well steak topped with syrup. totally disappoint one star. read more
