Thai Milk Tea and Strawberry Milk Tea with mango and strawberry popping boba
    Kade H.

Super cute place. Friendly service. Menu describes what's in the drinks. I got the Thai milk tea. Delicious. Friend got strawberry milk tea with mango and strawberry popping boba. Also really good and I was skeptical of that one. If I wasn't from out of town I'd definitely be back. My friend has found their new boba place.

Cute new boba shop near cole and overland! Sounds like they just re-opened two weeks ago. Family owned business. My friend got the Trapioca and I got the Strawberry Milk! Both were very good and made with care! I got half sweet for the Strawberry Milk and I am glad I did as even that was pretty sweet. Owners were helpful and answered all our many questions about all the menu items! They also have alternative milks if preferred.

SO GOOD! We came when the power on the block went out and are so glad they were still able to serve us ---lucky peach: green tea with lemongrass, peach and kumquat, such a unique combination of flavors and so refreshing, wish we had this near us so I could order it again Definitely coming back if we are back in Boise

Customer service 10/10 and the drink was the best boba I've had in the treasure valley. Definitely coming back, the place is SO CUTE inside.

Very good boba! I usually ask for half sweet but I forgot this time. Still delicious.

I ordered a couple of the passion fruit tea because I enjoy passion fruit drinks. The staff were great! Order was correct and prepared in a timely manner. The drinks were not good. The drinks tasted watered down with sugar. The jellies had no real fruit flavor. I wanted to like this place, but sadly, the drinks were disappointing. The place is nicely decorated.

Everything it was easy to place your order. They have 2 kiosks to place your and you can customize your own order. The lady was really nice as well the place was nice clean.

The place is super cute inside but had a funky smell. Drinks were all pretty good but WAYYYYY too sweet..

Tra Boba Milk Tea Cafe Tra is a wonderful new Boba milk tea café that recently opened in Boise. It is conveniently located in a strip mall near the Boise Costco, right next to The Tortilla Factory. In addition to Boba teas, they have flavored teas, iced Vietnamese coffee, slushy's and smoothies. They also have a small food menu of Bagel sandwiches and Bánh mì. I visited for the first time on 10/28/22. I knew this place was legit when I asked where they get the tea they use for their signature Boba milk tea and the answer was "Taiwan." I appreciate that the drink prices include Boba. I ordered a large Signature Milk Tea ($6.75) and a Grilled Pork Bánh mì ($6.75). The Signature Milk Tea comes with the inside of the cup lined with brown sugar syrup, which makes it extra delicious! My drink was excellent! Because I was taking my bánh mì to go, the owners thoughtfully put the vegetable garnish on the side so the heat of the sandwich wouldn't make it soggy before I got back to my office. My Bánh mì was excellent too! Vanessa wanted me to try their Winter Melon Tea, and gave me one on the house. I have never tried Winter Melon Tea before so didn't know quite what to expect. It had a mild, light, refreshing, sweet flavor that's been compared to fresh cucumber, as well as watermelon rind. I thought it had a slightly caramel flavor too. Winter Melon Tea is high in vitamins and antioxidants. Many drink it for its health benefits. It was a little too sweet for my taste (similar to Sweet Tea), but I enjoyed getting to try something new. To the best of my knowledge, there's no place else in Idaho serving Winter Melon Tea. Owners Kevin and Vanessa are very kind and helpful. I love that this business is open seven days a week. Can't wait to return! Highly Recommended!!! -- at Trà Boba Café Boise.

Quick take: Yes, decent espresso…read more Coffee Snob Version: First some background to be fair. I buy and roast my own beans and tried beans from all over the world. I have an Excel file full of roasting profiles per bean with what worked and what was less good. I tend to like African and Asian beans. I have use the same Breville machine for 15 years, drink espresso and espresso based drinks exclusively. Yes I would consider myself a coffee snob. I live around the corner from here and have meant to come try them for a while. I was sick a few weeks ago so missed two roasting Fridays, I roasts every Friday and ran out of my own beans. As you know if you are reading the Coffee Snob version, Sbux disappoints, so hey... perfect opportunity to try here! What to try... curious to know about their beans, I ordered a Dopio and an Americano. The Dopio lets me experience just the bean, the Americano what it tastes like dilluted, the flavor can change a bit. The Americano also tells me how much water they add. I tend to make mine with equal parents espresso and water, there is an actual name for this that eludes me at the moment. What was odd was that as they pulled the double espresso shot, there was an unusual volume of crema on top, I actually saw the Barista dump some of the crema off before pouring the remainder in my cup. This is caused by a few things but beans that are too recently roasted is a primary cause. Freshly roasted means usually need at least a week to off as the carbon dioxide in the beans. All that crema was likely CO2 relates, so if anything would have made the shot undrinkablly bitter... And the Barista seemed to know this! I have had beans that needed a month to stabilize. One day it's sharp and bitter, as if by magic, the flavor has changed entyrly and is wonderful! The flavor of the Dopio would tend to support this as it was on the sharp side. That sharpness came through in the Americano which was full to the brim. The fix is simple, I add a small amount of whipped cream and swirl it in. When I get a less than ideal roast at home, this is the fix. I'm certain milk based drinks, cappuccino, breve, etc would overcome this easily. Will I go back, if I am out of beans, definitely, but now I know to add a bit of whipped cream!

I was trying to kill two birds with one stone. Get my afternoon caffeinated beverage and check out this new local coffee joint. Walking in, this place is bright and inviting. I was instantly greeted by a beautiful smile and hello. I headed to the counter to check out the drink menu. I told the gal behind the counter I wanted to wait for my daughter to come in so we can order together. She was chill about it and let my daughter and I take our time. After we checked out the menu, I got myself my normal afternoon drink. An iced americano with sugar free vanilla and room for cream. My daughter got a peach and strawberry lotus energy drink. While our drinks were being prepared, I got to check out the venue. They have yummy looking baked goodies in the display case. A shelf filled with vintage coffee cans and plants. I adore the creativity they put into the shelf. The back wall is a stunning painting of a coffee plant. Whoever painted that wall did a fantastic job! My coffee looked dark and rich before I added my half and half. I knew that drink was going to be strong and flavorful! The espresso wasn't watered down at all. I added my half and half and a packet of sweetener. Taking one sip of my drink jolted me. You can taste the bitterness of the coffee. But it also had the right amount of sugar free vanilla in it as well. With the cream and sweetener, it was absolutely a great cup of coffee! I never caught the barista's name but she was super sweet. We talked about my transplant and my recovery from it. She was engaged and genuine. I appreciate that she was real and honestly involved in our conversation. It wasn't generic small talk. I wish this coffee joint is closer to me. Unfortunately they are on the other end of town. I would stop here every morning if I could. Everything about this shop is great. Plenty of seating, chill vibe, big windows for lighting and a dope barista behind the counter. If I'm ever in the other end of town, I most definitely will stop in top grab a drink.
