These people are rude and doesn't seem to care if they have business or not. I made an appointment for FOUR manicures and pedicures. When we got there, they only took ONE of us and made the others wait and wait and wait. Finally, we walked out and said we are going down the street. They didn't care or even look up. We went to THE LOUNGE NAIL SALON and they were excellent, cleaner, cheaper and more friendly. Don't go to Traci's nails. read more

They are fast and the wait usually is not long. They use old nail files on you and use a power grinder on your soles while they look at everything but what they are doing. The "massage" consists of bashing your shins and heel with their fists. There was a little middle-aged guy there who spent a good 20 minutes lovingly applying 2 coats of polish and a top coat to a young woman's feet. He then spent time making sure that there was no polish on her skin...I think he should have paid her...they charge you extra if you don't pay cash. read more

I've been here many times, cleanliness is great. The first visits, I was happy with my nails. Cute designs and nail techs were concerned with my happiness. Lately I feel like nobody cares if I leave happy. I like designs. Creativity. The designs are always the same and they never are able to do them in the colors I want because they 'don't show up'... but I just know other salons can do designs in fun colors.... I guess it's time for a change. I was looking for something special tonight for a special night out, and I now feel bummed when I look down at my hands and feet. Not really impressed. The staff was nice... They were out of the first 2 colors I choose. The nail polish from my manicure wore off in 5 days. The water for my Pedicure was not really warm. I asked them to turn it up, but they didn't seem to understand me. Was going to get nail art done, but there isn't a list or display of samples. Most horrible experience! This nail shop happens to be a few blocks away from my house so it's always been the most convenient for me., But lately I've noticed they're refusing to take some people of color. I just walked in while they hardly had two customers and they refused to do a simple manicure! Customers were also getting mad as the lady kept trying to justify why they wouldn't take me but I told them it was fine I'll never come back here again! I've been coming here for the last couple of months, after my favorite manicurist near my house moved away and I've had trouble finding anyone else who can deliver a gel manicure that really lasts and actually get rid of my calluses. I'm happy to say that I finally found my spot! And even though I live in SF, I now take advantage of days I'm in Oakland to get my mani/pedi done. The first time I thought maybe it was just that particular manicurist, but I've had different ones almost every time and they've all been excellent. They do gel superbly--each time I've had it done there, it has lasted well over 2 weeks (as long as 3 weeks) and still looked good other than the nails starting to grow in. But the reason I really come back here every time is for the pedicure. I get the deluxe, so I don't know how the regular one is, but I know that at least with the deluxe, they really put some elbow grease into it and obliterate your calluses. Most places seem to just do a quick buff with a pumice stone or file, and for people like me whose feet are always dry and rough, that just doesn't cut it. I've left some places where you could still see and feel big calluses even as I left the shop. Um...for me, that's kind of the whole reason I even get pedicures...I hardly ever wear open-toed shoes around here so no one sees how pretty the polish is, but I hate feeling like my feet are dry and rough! Here, they are almost OCD about getting rid of the calluses, and will keep going back over them over and over until they're satisfied they're gone--which is EXACTLY what I pay for a pedicure for. And that's EXACTLY why I will keep coming back here!! read more

I am so enthralled with Traci's, I am so happy I found this place! I am a defector from The Nail Shop, where I had been a regular for eight years. From the first time I walked into Traci's they were very genuine and excited to help me out. The arm and leg massages are worth the time, I feel completely refreshed when I leave. I had nails put on for my wedding, and they talked to me about the different kinds of fake nails before I went with gels. This place is cool. I have been a million times and I love the way my nails and eyebrows look each time. They really try their best to accommodate you and give you the best service possible. You may have to wait a few minutes but once they start working on you, its worth it. I often get gel nails and what I love the most is how they teach you how to take care of your nails in between gel treatments. Its pretty clean and they try their best to keep a sanitary environment. They really take care of their customers. PS. They prefer that you tip them with cash. They do not accept a tip on a credit card. read more

I will say the only thing that bugged me was just how cold it was!!! My nail tech was absolutely amazing and sweet. i will def go back and see her when my nails need to be filled again. Everyone was very sweet and my nails didn't need a ton of work but i needed them cut down for work. I don't feel like they rushed anyone which some people don't like but it does make for a nice experience when you feel like they are not rushing to get you out of the chair and onto another person. The staff is always accommodating to me, even when I bring my daughter and other family members visiting from out of town. My daughter has special needs, and they take special care to provide her with the best of service. My mother who was visiting said it was the best experience she had, receiving her first mani/pedi at Traci's. Now with Alzheimer's, she still remembers her time there. I've had more expensive mani/pedis, but none as good. I always tip well because of the quality of the service, which probably makes me a popular client! read more

I was extremely pleased with my experience yesterday it was great! I was originally going to go to another shop that happened to be across the street but they didn't have any openings until a hour afteri checked in. So I walked around for a second abd fund this nice little place. The decor is not overly fancy or something you would expect knowing the location but I'm not put off by it. When I walked in I was immediately greeted and seated. After a mix up (the ladies mistook me for someone with an appointment) a woman came over and got straight to my nails. She did everything really quick but didn't make any mistakes. Once she finished filing and everything I went to wash my hands and noted that the break area behind the wax room was quite messy. I went back to get my pedicure finished but I sat for about 5 minutes but by this time everybody's appointments had arrived so it was a bit busier by now. So free little lady came and got right to my feet and handled them the right way. I later find out her name was Ann and when we got to taking about where I parked abd the fact I forgot to pay the meter she moved with the swiftness of I don't know what. One thing I can say I was thankful fit I'd the fact that all the technicians make sure to tell you the price of everything before they start so there's do surprises when it comes time to pay. I've been looking for a new shop and I think I found it. I'm changing mainly for sanitary reasons (tired of dirty nail shops that fake sanitation). Here the tools come out of a sterile pouch, the tub is lined and the buffer and files are brand new for every client. The design of the shop is also simple and clean. The massage chairs are good as are the leg massages. So far only two pedicures but I plan to try their other services. read more

I have come here with my mother & sister many times in the past couple years. When we first started coming, their customer service was good/ moderate. But we always had to ask for the same people to do our nails because other techs didn't do as good a job. My mother & I would only allow one women to do our eyebrows because she was the only one who could do them well and give us what we asked for. The last couple times we've been there, their customer service has been awful. During our pedicure and manicure the women kept pausing to speak on the phone taking personal phone calls. One woman blatantly ignored me as I was speaking to her. I should've chosen a different place to go to a long time ago. read more

I've been coming here about a year. And I've noticed they've done a little bit of bait and switch. They will do an excellent job for a while and then start doing crapy jobs to get you to come back sooner. Is really disappointing if you're a busy person and can't get back every 2 weeks. My nail job used to last at least 3 weeks with the normal growth, But now I have to go back in a week because one of the nails have broken or cracked. So now I'm looking for another place. read more

Why do I always expect great things from nail salons when I foolishly defect from The Nail Spa on College or on Telegraph? They do seem to really know their regulars at Traci's, and I got a good "emergency" gel fill (really nice and really cheap) here, but... 1) kind of a dirty salon. When the baseboards and the lampshades are covered by a thick coat of dust, you kind of wonder how good they are with cleanliness and hygiene overall. 2) my nail tech went straight to her little pink box, clearly labeled "soiled" for the clipper that she wanted to use on me. I protested -- loudly -- and she tried to convince me it was clean and/or that I didn't need to worry about a clipper. 'Nuff said. 3) "Do you have time for a walk in?" Nod, nod, nod, yes, yes, yes. Please DO NOT spend your money at this salon!!!! They treat the elderly and dark skinned people differently than young white people. I hate to admit it but It took me too long to figure this out, I'm white. My daughter who is mixed, and I don't go there any more but she went with a white friend the other day who wanted to go there. Once again, as had occurred in the past, her friend was taken first and she was made to wait. When I took my mother (in her 70s) and my mother-in-law, they were treated differently than I was. I am not one to take to Yelp but when I tried to find and talk to the person in charge to tell them in person, the staff played dumb and said the boss lives in another state. We don't need businesses like this in Oakland!!!!!! WE NEED TO FIGHT RACISM with our dollars!! Please find another salon like Femimacus on Park where they have leadership who can train the staff and who is ever present to ensure everyone has the same service. read more

Stumbled upon this hidden gem, which was literally hiding behind some sidewalk construction. These ladies went to town on my calluses. Haha. I know, gross, but I get semi annoyed when you go in for a pedicure and they don't even try. This was not the case here! I would've given 5 stars, but my lady was a bit overzealous and took too much cuticle off my left big toe. My feet are a bit raw today, but will definitely come back here and update my review. since i no longer work in berkeley and the place i used to go to get my waxin' jobs is near campus, thus highly inconvenient for me (side note: shadia @ uc hair salon - she is great! and whenever i am in the area and need a wax i will continue to see shadia). anyway, i needed a place closer to home for those last minute and emergency waxings. i randomly wandered into traci's nails one friday afternoon. i didn't have to wait long at all (though the place was hopping! always a good sign!), and they took care of me. they did a great job on my eyebrows, and since then i go back to them for the majority of my wax needs. ;) the prices are reasonable. be warned though, there is a minimum amount you can put on a credit card. and as per someone else's review, i want to reiterate that you can't put a tip (any amount) on your card. so bring cash! read more

Came in here on a Sunday with my girlfriend. This was the only nail salon open, plus they are open EVERYDAY! The staff are really friendly and do an amazing job. I will definitely come back to get gel manicures and pedicures, as they hace reasonable prices. The wait was about 5 minutes as I see they get pretty busy quickly. My friend is 6 months pregnant and has never felt more relaxed with their massages. I highly recommend this place to anyone. read more

If I could give Tracy Nails 10 stars I would! I absolutely love these ladies here. I have been coming for 9 years now. They are sweet, accommodating and give the best pedicures ever!!! They work hard and they scrub the crap out of your heels to make sure they are smooth and brand new! So many places I have tried before have gone thru the motions or steps of a pedicure but didn't actually do anything to scrub the feet smooth and I would be in and out in 25-30 min. I am a cosmetologist so I know how it works. I have been disappointed at many places but Tracy's is still my favorite spot. I live 45 min away and still make the drive every two weeks to get a pedicure. They take their time on you so you can relax. I'm never rushed. Would highly recommend them to everyone. read more
