I said let me see the kitten. She rolled her eyes and made a rude comment. I said why did you say this. She rudely said you came in to buy a bunny now you wanna see the kitten! I'm like AND!?! She walked away and the Assistant Manager helped me purchase the kitten. That rude, unprofessional, bully Manager doesn't need to work with humans or animals....I will now start shopping at the Burlington or Chapel Hill pet-stores in the future. Sometimes you're so overwhelmed by the number of animals in a shelter you want to cringe or run back out. You might be tempted to do so here at CARA, but you'll be missing out. CARA is small brick building housing some of the nicest volunteers you'll meet anywhere. And they know how to have fun with all their animal residents, dressing them up in festive attire for their holiday pictures on the website, for example. It doesn't matter whether the volunteer is a dog person or a cat person, he or she will spend time with you visiting and interacting with the animals, answering questions and helping you find the perfect friend. On Thursdays, Cara stays open a little later so there's time for you to stop by after work to pick up your new friend, or visit or meet with the cats or dogs. When you stop in, you won't be required to complete paperwork or answer a million questions to get past the front door: the staff will take you right in to meet your (hopefully) future pet companion. The paperwork comes later, but it's a no pressure, stay as long as you like, environment.

I honestly never heard of taking a cat to a groomer, since they groom so much for themselves. But this cat has longish fur, and it had gotten in a mess. He was having trouble with hairballs, and I blamed it on his hair! They do cat baths! So I took him. Coming from out of state, I am very happy that they carry Fromm! They're decently priced (for…read moreFromm) with the same 12 bag get your 13th free plan at the store (via manufacturer). For our cat, we get the wet food brand Weruna - and although I'm used to a very similar Fromm purchasing plan of the bigger cans (per store policy at a different store), Pet Mania unfortunately doesn't do that here. However, there's a very huge flavor selection of this brand (that comes in the small cans), so I'm pretty happy with having many choices. Finally, my cat also loves a stuffed animal brand called supercat (mainly the dinosaurs though), and this store carries this with a price pretty competitive to that of Amazon. Very well stocked for being a fairly small store, so I come here for most of my pets' needs. Fair warning that compared to other commercial stores, some may think this is pricey; however, the selections here tend to be the higher quality brands overall.
