    Randolph Mall - 2:15 on a Monday

    Randolph Mall

Randolph Mall has plenty of parking and I bet you can find any type of apparel there due to the…read moredepartment stores. It also has Books-A-Million, which has decent coffee and plenty of books and magazines. It's really the only place in Asheboro aside from the library with that many books. Those are about all the good things I can say about the mall these days. Randolph Mall would be a Great Place for a zombie movie, because frankly, there's nobody in it. Unfortunately, this place seems to be going out of business fast. I asked one shop owner after noticing all the closed stores and he said he was moving soon too because the mall not only refuses to lower his rent, but brings less and less clientele in every month or so. The Book Store, Department Stores, Cinema, and Chick-fil-A are really the only things Randolph Mall has anymore. I walked through it last week and it was just one big vacuity. Very depressing. The barista at the bookstore even seemed overwhelmed with 2 or 3 customers in line, so I just wondered off to scan titles. I remember when I was a kid and going to this mall was a real outing. On Halloween, the pet store, Family Pets', gave out free goldfish, and in Boy Scout's we'd race our Pinewood Derby cars in the food court. We would get phone calls weekly for the jewelry store there because it was one digit off of my parent's ground line. Now even that place is out of business. It's sad to see a dying Asheboro landmark, but I guess even the pyramids at Giza have graffiti. I hope they can get their act together and evolve with the times. Asheboro is a good-sized city, it is in a good location and you have plenty of empty stores- now the only thing you have to do is sell the retail spaces and pull people in.

They renovated this mall. It is now beautiful and lots of customers come now…read more The women's bathroom at Dunhams needs to be kept cleaned and needs renovating. The floor in Dunhams could be replaced. Belk's bathrooms need to be renovated also.

I found a wonderful hooded cardigan to help keep me toasty on the chilly fall evenings in NC and I found a dress and pj's for my grandson. They were quite busy- so there was a line at checkout, that's normal for any Ross location. Best places for me to find dresses!

Honestly, not a lot to see, but we did go to Ross. Both of us found several items we liked, and I decided against trying mine on. However, my guy wanted to try his on. The back dressing room was closed, and only two were available up front, where there was a line of four-five people waiting. When I got to the register where "Cassey" was working, I asked about the back dressing room, and she smuggly told me it was closed. Really? I had just left the area, so I kinda figured that out. I also inquired about the restrooms. Again, Cassey proudly announced they're locked. Really? I said this is a disservice to your customers. If I have to walk all the way to the register and ask Miss Cassey to find someone to unlock the door and stand for ten minutes waiting, only to have to walk back to the register and ask again, is nonsense!!! Ross - consider the handicap and the mother with 3 wailing babies or heaven forbids a senior who needs a restroom immediately. It was such an unpleasant experience at Ross and Cassey, you definitely need to be trained and have a little sensitivity for people who are waiting.

For those not familiar with the area, here's the deal about this mall…read more Danville used to big a major textile city since the Dan River flows right through the center of town. When those went bust loooong ago, the city went downhill. This is the only mall in the area, and when you have a population without a lot of money, you get stores, or a lack thereof, to match. Well, there were 4 anchor stores here: Belks, Sears, JC Penny, and Dunhams Spirts. Sears and JC penny are gone. The "food court" has a Chinese food place and a cookie place. Elsewhere, there's a Chick-fil-A and a pretzel joint. The majority of the stores are gone. However, the mall is not run down or dirty. It's clean, well lit, and inviting. With the new Cesar's casino in Danville, expect some major changes to happen to this mall.

Came in here on a weekday and I can count the people that were shopping. People also come here to walk for exercise. They have the right idea. No people to bump into and disrupt your exercise! Lol The number of places to eat is very limited. By that I mean there's only 4. I'm okay with that, because all I want's Cinnamon pretzel bites at Monk's. The girl behind the register greeted us immediately plus there's no line! There's a department store (Belk) . They didn't have a huge selection. So, I didn't find what I was looking for. The prices seemed to be less than Belk's in big cities, which is nice! Hopefully, vendors will start coming in soon in anticipation of Caesars Virginia's opening in 2024. My husband and I talked about going here to start walking when weather's bad.
