Having been on the road in our RV for the last couple of weeks, some of our supplies were getting low. I wouldn't swear to it, but I think Fred Meyer stores are only found in Oregon. We've been to a few of them over the years in places like Roseburg and a few other cities in the state. They're pretty massive stores and they don't only sell groceries. If you've never been to a Fred Meyer, you'll be surprised at what you see when you get there. They have a nice deli and produce section. In addition to groceries, they sell things like clothing, furniture, beauty supplies, jewelry, toys, electronics, sports equipment, camping gear, automotive items, hardware, tools, housewares, and more. The store that I visited in Roseberg was very clean, fully stocked, and well organized. I found everything pretty well except for an eyeglass repair kit. I asked several people that worked at the store if they had them and, if so, where I could find them. I got lots of answers like: "I work in groceries section," "I don't know," "Try clothing and apparel,""I'm only in charge of putting up signs," and, "This is the employee area, so they're not here." I finally found an employee in the tool area that told me all the checkout counters have them. Bingo! Sure enough, that's where they were! Overall, I like this store. We didn't see any employees pumping gas while we were there. They have snack and beverage vending machines available as well. Overall, we got what we needed, gas! The pump we used had a crappy lever on it. It kept clicking off like the tank was full, but we only had about a quarter tank when we stopped in. We ended up putting $80 of gas in the tank, but had to hold the pump lever the entire fill-up. A bit annoying.

Also trying to buy milk and you have to wait for someone to turn in cans? This is a grocery store. Get the f out the way. I was there one day two young guys wanting to return an electronic. The line started growing and wrapped around all the way to almost the milk. A manager had to come up and help with the dumb waste of time return. Have two registers open if some idiot needs to take 10 min to do a return.

As a ignorant Californian, I didn't look at what line I was in. It was surprising when the attendant came over and asked me for my credit card so that he could pump my gas. I told him I went in the wrong line. He told me I could do it myself if I wanted. I did it myself, but, it was nice to know that he could've pumped the gas for me. This Costco had stuff that we bought because it was cheaper than at another Costco. I didn't have my receipt but, the guy was able to look up my purchase history and choose the price that my wife demanded me to get back. Other Costco's will give you the lowest return price that you purchased it for, if you don't have the receipt. Matcha Hazelnuts. I've never them at any other Costco. I glad we purchased them here. They have just enough different things here to keep things interesting. Restrooms were clean like normal Costco's. We liked this location. It had a couple of fast food restaurants nearby. We might drop by again if our travels lead us here.

Beer section had a lot of empty spots. This was a Tuesday (June 29) so that was not expected. I was surprise at how many people did not wear masks even though it was the day prior to the governors order. Yes, this means employees were not wearing them. I think the main problem is that I could not find employees in the grocery area. It would be nice to have someone nearby when you have a question rather than having to walk all the way to the register when you are way back in the paper section. Hopefully things improve before my next visit next year.
