We stopped by here on a Wednesday night and had the back patio all to ourselves. When we walked back inside to close out our tab, we saw a full-fledged bingo night underway. It looked like a lot of fun. This place definitely feels like a local hangout. There's a decent selection of beer on tap, of course. There's also a bar bites menu. We opted for the coney dogs ($12), which were huge and were smothered in a sweet chili. Very good. We also shared a plate of the dirty chips ($12), which are basically nachos made with kettle chips instead of tortilla chips. Also a good choice. If pub fare isn't your thing, the bartender said they don't object to you bringing your own food. It might not be 5:00 here, but it's 5:00 back at work. I'm still working every day as I drive my Sprinter van hither and yon across the USA. It's quitting time and as such, beer o'clock. The nearest dispensary of frosty adult beverages was Trade Brewing where I found a decently comfortable space, free wifi and a tasty brew. I was here for 90 minutes and in that time, I participated in two Facebook arguments and wrote four Yelp reviews while sipping away at two of Trade's delicious beers. Good stuff! This is a busy neighborhood and I was very fortunate to find a street parking space almost right in front. As the day moved into dinner hours, it got packed. We didn't expect to find ourselves in a taproom while in Napa, but Trade Brewing by the Oxbow, is so inviting, we couldn't help it! Sam was so welcoming, we felt like he'd been waiting all day for us to stop in by the way he greeted us, and made sure our time there was amazing. From the game nights to the food trucks, this tap room hosts a calendar full of fun sounding, community building events. Oh, and they have a menu of award winning beers! The bartender let us try a few beers without us even having to ask, which was so nice! We got the 220 Volt and Comfortably Plum. We really liked both! Place gives some chill vibes when we came by on a Sunday evening. The staff was friendly and they have about 8-10 different beers on tap. The beer was fine just nothing too special and most were IPA-esque so not much variety. Wanted to enjoy a beer on a quick ride break and made a pit stop here. Nice cute spot across from Oxbow. We came pretty early so we were the only guests inside. They had music playing and noticed a few game boards for entertaining which I thought was cool. They normally serve food, but the day we visited their kitchen was out of service although they did invite us to bring outside food if we liked. I had one of their ciders which I thought was okay, my husband and enjoyed his beer. I walk in today I ask to used the bathroom and I was told where it was the my friend walk behind me and ask if they were still open they were told for just a bit. I heard that and it was just 7pm I thought it was weird. Because it said at the door they close at 9pm My friend went to the bathroom after me and when she came out I told her that we need it to go she ask me why I told her we are not welcome here. She said what happened I told her what the bar tender said she got mad and said what I said let's just go. I apologize because she was mad I fell bad because they said we were intoxicated. But we were not we were very cold today was a nice sunny day I had a summer dress but it did got chilly and we were shaking from the cold and they saw the complexity of our skin. Made a quick stop into Trade Brewing on Thursday evening. I am always looking to find reasons to praise smaller breweries, but I struggled here as the prices, beer, and simple location did not offer much to love. Quality: During my visit to Trade Brewing ordered a Flight with What The Funk, Comfortably Plum, 220V, and Eighty Acre. I wasn't particular excited about any of the beers and the price for a Flight was high. I felt the flavors for the more unique selections were difficult to get into, and 220V was simply not a very good IPA. It was not juicy as described and had a rough after-taste. Quantity: Four 5oz pours for a typical Flight size. Value: $15 for a Flight. Ambiance: Trade Brewing is located in the Napa area, very close to Oxbow Public Market. It appears to be a converted house, right off the main street. There is a small partially covered outdoor area out front, then a small indoor space with bar and several tables. Simple and casual, with a few televisions showing playoff basketball. Crowd: Extremely busy on Thursday evening. Service: Friendly and efficient bartenders. I cant believe how Napa is coming along with regards to beer. This is wine country but a person can't live on wine alone; enter Trade Brewing. Located in the first house on the south side of 1st, if you blink you'll miss it. So don't blink, you won't want to miss visiting Trade, it's a welcome addition to the off-to-a-great-start beer scene in Napa. First off, from the outside you think you're going to be entering an old farmhouse until you get inside. Soaring ceilings, concrete floors and plenty of seating makes for a gorgeous well planned space. Then you have the bartenders, what a great and friendly bunch. Super passionate about that they do and their love of beer and Napa, I can relate. As for the beers, you guessed it, great! They do offer flights but I went for their double IPA, Pile Driver. For a double IPA with an IBU of 115 I was expecting a really long bitter finish. Nope, I was surprised by the short bitter finish that clears your palate and leaves you wanting more. I could drink this IPA all night long, well, it's 8.9% ABV, so I thought better of it. Trade also offers food which include bar snacks, salads and panini. We already had food plans but next time I'm totally ordering the charcuterie board. Nothing like salty pig parts and beer! There are plans to open up some outdoor seating around back next year. Went there today and I really liked the place. We had a Kolsch and it was very good and I am not a Kolsch guy. Today was soup and we had the flight. Every soup was delicious and reasonably priced. The bartender was polite and so were most of the customers. Place had tons of seating and a good variety of beer. I will definitely go back again and have more then one next time. The best--imo--brewery in Napa, Trade is a nice little spot off the beaten path. It's near oxbow, but is a stand alone walk down tap room with a relaxed vibe that many micro/craft purists enjoy. Take a look at the menu and you'll see they have something for everyone, and if you try something you wouldn't normally look for there's a good chance you'll be impressed. There are daily specials- Friday's are $5 paninis, another day is a couple bucks off some booze and so on. I heard they just opened in October so it was a little quiet when we came on a Friday night around 5:30, but stick around and the crowd comes in about an hour later. Napa may be known for the wine but I'm glad we stopped by Trade Brewing for the beer. They had a great variety of beers so we decided to go with a flight to try multiple. The eighty acre was my fav! The customer service here is awesome and the staff had great recommendations for us. We stopped by when it wasn't too busy so we were able to relax and really enjoy the atmosphere. Really enjoyed the visit to Trade Brewing. Unfortunately, did not plan well to visit wineries at Napa for the long weekend, but glad we found a respite at Trade Brewing. It was a very inclusive place, with many dogs and pets being allowed as well. You don't come for the food but those sliders are nice to coat the tummy while wetting the whistle with tasty brews. My favorite is the 220V, but I also really enjoy the 110 when I am looking for something a little lighter.
