I attended an event in V Wine Cellar located inside of V Marketplace in Yountville. They do have an outdoor and indoors sittings surrounded with great quality wines! Shafer was one of them! I believe it is a family owned. Servers knows most of the people that walked in. I felt a good vibe being here. Btw, owner of the Shafer showed up too. Just didn't get a chance to take pictures. Make sure to stop buy if you're around Yountville for tasting!

I learned to saber here. If you book directly through v wines, they charge you $25 plus the bottle. We were taught how to do it and then we chillaxed on the back patio and sipped the whole bottle. I highly recommend if your looking to do a little something different in the area of Cabernet.

They have a great selection of wines especially California wines and lots of hard to find wines from the area. Also cigars and some nice wine gifts.

The ambiance of the restaurant was cozy, relaxed, and intimate while still feeling elevated. The menu for the day included: * Charred Corn Salad * arugula, pickled red onions, piquillo peppers garlic croutons, romesco * Grilled Flank Steak * roasted brocollini, rancho gordo pinquito beans spring onions, chimichurri * Point Reyes Toma * picholine tapenade, fruit bread * Silverado Trail Strawberry Panna Cotta * pistachio brittle, garden mint and we opted for one of the add ons: * Garlic Baked Gulf Shrimp * parsley, crispy breadcrumbs lemon butter Overall, everything tasted great and my favorite was the grilled flank steak and the strawberry panna cotta. Loved the hospitality and service, the pig designs (pigs are my favorite animal), and the beautiful location of the restaurant in Yountville (just across the Napa Valley Trail).

We ordered a couple drinks from the bar which were brought over to our table, our waiter went over the menu and how the pre fixe meal would proceed. For our starter, we had the Garden snap peas salad. The idea of fresh ingredients of carrots, frisee, arugula, and the Hobbs bacon was going to create a bounty of flavors, but fell short as our salad was doused heavily with dressing. The dressing completely overpowered the vegetables, did not compliment them as anticipated, leaving a very sour/bitter taste after every bite. Even the table next to us felt the dressing was overpowering. For our next course, we ordered the French onion dip and kettle chips appetizer, this was a solid pick! This appetizer was more than enough for two people, actually way too much for both of us, but enjoyed the dip very much. This is where the service began to slow down. We were almost done with our appetizer platter, needing some water refills and a fresh beverage, and felt like a very long time from when we received our appetizer until our waiter came back to us. For context, it had been almost an hour since we initially sat down, ate our salad and appetizer. I know this may be a slow paced meal, but felt overly long before we even got to our main course. For the main course, we had the pork chops. Well portioned for both of us, very tender, but lacked that nice grilled char we personally like. I assume the pork chops were sous vide and then finished lightly on the grill top to give the char and grill marks. Overall good, but not the wow we were anticipating for tonight's meal. Next up was the apple, crisp, dessert, which was OK and underwhelmed. We skipped the cheese and pretzel plate and asked them to put it in a to go box as we were already approaching two hours into our meal. Our experience may not be typical, but for a very expensive Friday night dinner, we felt it could've been spent elsewhere and would have had a better value overall.

The fish tastes so fresh and their ikura is not overly salty and smaller than other ikuras i've had. The best part though i think is the seasoned rice. The rice is so flavorful yet doesn't take away from the fish. You don't need to add additional soy sauce or wasabi either. The caviar tasting is pretty cool. Feels like a good deal since you get to taste 6 different caviars. Another highlight is the oysters. I was a bit hesitant about ordering the oysters at $6ea but definitely don't skip on it. They use ichiban ousters from skagit bay and it was so creamy and light tasting. The yuzu mignonette went perfectly with it as well. One thing they do really well are their vegetables. Everything was so flavorful. I can just keep going on about how wonderful everything here is. The service is fast, we were just finishing up the bellinis from the caviar tasting and a new set of bellinis arrived at my table without having to ask for it. The interior and exterior are all so pretty and make you feel so relaxed. Definitely stop by for some great food! Chef Thomas Keller is known for precision, discipline, and an almost obsessive attention to detail. His style is refined, technical, and rooted in classic French technique, elevated with modern creativity. Every course reflects that philosophy, clean flavors, flawless execution, and zero shortcuts. The restaurant holds three Michelin stars, the highest distinction, and has been considered one of the best restaurants in the world for many years. We secured a reservation for four at 7:00 PM, which in itself feels like an achievement. There are not many tables for two, so getting a reservation for a pair is extremely difficult. The best approach is to try for a reservation of four or more for the main dining room. Larger groups may find private dining easier to book. The evening runs long, over four hours. It is not rushed at all. By around the sixth course, I was already full, but the progression keeps you engaged. Each dish is small but rich, layered, and intentional. They add additional complimentary courses to the experience! The experience starts in the waiting area inside the restaurant with a welcome toast. Once seated, you are given personalized menus, which adds a thoughtful touch. At the end, they send you home with custom cookies and a chocolate bar, small details that reinforce the experience. For my birthday, they went further, surprising me with a bottle of sparkling wine engraved with my name. That level of personalization felt genuine. Logistics were straightforward. Parking was easy, we parked across the street. The dinner was prepaid through Tock, which simplifies the process. There are also optional add ons to the tasting menu, like truffle mac and cheese and wagyu beef. Tip is already included and you can add additional tip if you desire! They are also flexible with dietary needs, one person in our group was vegetarian, and the kitchen accommodated seamlessly without compromising quality. Overall, it is one of the best dining experiences of my life and I will definitely go back again. I would choose an earlier reservation next time so dinner does not run so late into the night. Everything is exceptional from start to finish. Cool fact: Governor Gavin Newsom was caught eating here during the COVID lockdowns! You will see many celebrities dining according to our hostess, which is no big deal for someone from Southern California!
