We had a mini-split installed July14th of this year. I reserved our review until now as our installation experience was not positive. We had our electrician present doing remodel work during Trademark's installation. Short version to a long saga was that the technicians DID NOT communicate to our electrician on the surge protectors to be installed. I discovered 1 surge protector on our back porch & the other on cement wall next to the outside unit 2 days later. July 18th I called Trademark thinking they left behind these parts. I was told the electrician "...was to install & he wasn't present." After phone tagging with Joy, office manager, we finally get a callback July 18th. Bottom line, due to us having our own electrician it is the HOMEOWNERS responsibility to bridge communication between contractors, REALLY??" I ended the conversation with Joy with this statement, "....guess customer service does not include communication skills?" HOMEOWNERS be aware that you need to be vigilant with communicating if you have contractors involved. The only redeeming factor is having Cody Poppleton, a service technician, giving us hope with a possibility in changing our opinion of Trademark. December 13th Cody Poppleton arrived to do maintence & follow-up on the July 14th installation. He was professional, knowledgeable, & wonderful listener. Due to not receiving orientation in July Cody took the time to run use through the indoor & outside units. This employee deserves to be in a management -customer service position. They put our hvac system in less than 5 years ago and it has already leaked the coolant completely 2 times, which costs hundreds of dollars to fill. It would not be leaking if they would have installed it properly. We have had other companies come out to take a look and they have all told us it is leaking because it was not installed properly, Trademark refuses to fix what their poor work. They have also been extremely unprofessional with the whole situation. We will be contacting the Better Business Bureau. read more

I found these guys on Google cause they had five stars and many reviews so I thought it was going to be a great company. He respond fast when I call them to come out to give me a quote. He came out Friday. Said I should have a quote by the end of the day or early Saturday morning. I called Saturday afternoon asking if there is a quote coming. They said they are getting in contact with the electrician and he should be getting it to me soon. Monday comes around. I get a text message from the company asking how I like my quote and if I have any questions. I responded saying I don't have a quote. They said they will get in touch with the electrician. It is now Wednesday I still don't have a quote and they are asking the size of the generator that I personally showed him. It's like he came out didn't take any notes. I have not been very impressed by this company. I will be searching around for another electrician company. so much for their five stars. read more

Trademark in the past has been great for us, even installed a new A/C unit. Surprisingly this last experience of trying to purchase a new water heater and have it install went south. Price seemed excessive but I know the quality of work they do and they tend to use better products. We also elected to install a pre-filter due to the hard water. Day of install arrived and the guys only had the water heater and no pre-filter. Come to find out they use a third party for their pre filter. Question came about and the poor install team had no idea about any of this. The company had no idea who the sales guy was and in the end we pulled the plug on the situation and told them let's sit down and renegotiate a sale. Never happened. We got a call two weeks later asking if we were ready for install after explaining we were not moving forward. Today we received a form asking us to sign so they can pull permits for the install. No one has ever followed up about the initial problem and their sales department seems to not have any recollection of the past two conversations we have had with them. Bottom line, they blew the sale, we're not transparent, and failed to even make attempts to make things right. Like I said normally these guys are great, but they missed the mark on this one. Only reason it's not one star is because the install team and their install manager have been excellent. Guys need to do something about that sales team. Oh and I installed at 1/2 of the price with another reputable company and a better warranty. So prices are a bit out of sync. read more

I had Trademark install a Carrier AC and upgrade our HVAC system about 2 years ago. At that time service was great, perhaps it was because they were selling $$$, not servicing. About a week ago the system stopped, the thermostat went blank. Called to schedule an appointment and it was several days before they could come out. The day of the originally scheduled appointment I received a call that they had too many technicians out sick and would need to reschedule for two days later. They promised they would be here. Today I get a call and they are "short staffed" and the next available appointment is "June 21st." They apologized but that was the earliest they could see me. I guess I am supposed to suck it up and be without any heat or AC for over a month. Called Bill's heating and Air and they could come out today. Something happened at Trademark that has caused their employees to leave. I will never use them again. As one reviewer has noted, perhaps their service declined when they changed ownership. Disappointing for me. Don't give them the opportunity to let you down. read more

On February 10th Trademark came in to install a tankless water heater. We were told this job would take up to 8 hours, however likely not more than 4 hours. They were at our house just shy of 12 hours and left a huge dirty exposed pipe coming into the garage with a hole that was incorrectly cut into our drywall, it didn't look professional at all. The next morning we awaken to a very strong smell of gas and had to evacuate the home. Avista shows up to confirm the gas line that they tapped into in the ceiling is leaking heavily as well as a second leak at the unit itself. Avista also pointed out that the exhaust pipe on the water heater was not in a sufficient space for air intake as it was in the utilities closet. They had to red tag our house and shut off the gas.  Had to miss four additional days of work due to this, both them to fix mistakes in the original install and come back 3 times and fix cosmetic mistakes to cover the shotty workmanship. Went to meet with them to discuss the price since I don't believe I should pay full price due to all the missed work, was basically to get lost. They do not care about quality work or customer service. I would highly advise looking elsewhere. read more

We called for our annual furnace service a couple months ago and were told they could not come out until Dec 13th. After they serviced the furnace I asked how the unit looked and the tech said really good. All they had to do was do their routine cleaning. The service took about 30-minutes. I asked them what the charge was and they said $195.00. They tried to sell me a yearly service contract which I declined. After paying the bill I called Trademark Mechanical in Sandpoint, ID and asked them what they charged for a routine gas furnace service and they said $59.00 so I asked them why we were charged $195.00 and the lady said she would have to call me right back. After she called back she informed me that the price they charged me was the price from when I called in 2-months ago and that they were now running a special. Not the way to treat a returning customer who now is not a customer. read more

My father passed away in March and had two commercial buildings in Spokane, the HVAC stopped working in one building and because the building was so old we had trouble finding someone to come out on a weekend to address the problem. I called Trademark and they promptly retuned my phone call and came out the next day. The system was nearly 30 years old and needed to be replaced. A rather stingy organization. I had called them to do a service call on a furnace for one of my rental suites about a mile down the road from them which they did. It was a minor issue and in 15 minutes or so the tech was on his way. The fee was $125 which I had no issues with paying. Two days later the tenant called stating the furnace wouldn't cycle so I called them again (I was out of the area). The tech came over and recycled the thermostate and it fired right up. Another $125 charge. Pretty steep for a 3 minute drive and a 2 minute sevice call. read more

July 31st I saw David, who came out to clean out our boiler for our radiant floor heating system. I also asked that he explain a bit of what he knew for my husband and me, because it was our first time owning one. He agreed, and I was told it would be $90. Eventually I asked them to provide their boiling maintenance/flush service, which was quoted at $150. When he came out there was a bit of a scare tactic on how bad my system was and how it wouldn't last. "I needed to upgrade!" I had already wanted to get a quote on upgrade options, and it wasn't necessary to act like it was going to fall apart instantly. Bottom line is I have a non-traditional system, set up with water heaters rather than a true boiler. Instead of flushing out and doing maintenance on the water heater, he said he couldn't because the emergency valve was fused. I was quoted almost $300 to replace the valve. Okay, that's fine. In the meantime, he noticed we had an older freon air conditioner. He said since he was out here, and he couldn't do anything with the "boiler", he'd clean the coils and filters on the air conditioner. He used the opportunity to upsell more HVAC stuff. He took a spray can of coil cleaner, and couldn't spray the coils because they didn't need it. He took out the filters and washed them in the sink. Then he said "okay now it's $150". Seriously? Not to mention the way he had gone about it was more like he was exploring the unit, and was just rinsing off the filter in the sink as a favor to show me how to take care of it. I was really surprised he had the nerve to charge me the whole price for a flush rather than the $90, since he did spend time explaining the system to me. The other problem I've had here, is that I never got any quotes on the upgrades I asked about. I said we wouldn't be doing them this winter, but wanted options to save for. I was blown off. I assumed it was a mistake, and called back and they wanted to send someone else out to look and give me quotes. Okay. Second guy came out, and we saw there was a broken valve on the "boiler" heater, and that wasn't even addressed until this visit. Again, I was never quoted on the upgrades I asked for. I called a third time, and they wanted to send someone else out! I just don't have time for that nonsense. Apparently my system was set up by a company that was bought out by Trademark. I got the impression that they knew it would be such a mess to upgrade by bits, that they just wanted me to hire them to redo the whole thing. If David had notes, and the next guy had notes...why did I need to waste my morning with a third guy?? . Anyway, David said he was going to write me up a whole explanation of the system. He did write what he did, but the main function of the call was to provide instruction on my system, and directions on using it. I didn't get that, or help with this system until calling Apex Plumbing and Heating. They actually explained it, quickly, and gave me a quote on installing a shut off valve, a new gauge, and now I understand there is two tanks of propylene glycol used for pressure, and that some of my problem is the pressure is low and I need a glycol refill. We also addressed a simple fix like replacing the pump to something stronger, as well as troubleshooting on finding where in the floor the different pipes are routed. He added some water to the closed system as well. For the same fee I actually got help. So, yeah. Trademark was pretty far off the mark, for me. read more

We were told after our quote to call to make an appointment and were guaranteed to get a call back that day which we did not, nor the next day after we called back and were guaranteed again, finally we were able to make an appointment on the 3rd day. We asked that they call us about the unit placement before our schedule appointment and they failed to call us again and the tech showed up to do the install and I had to take time out of my work day to deal with this. Lastly, when we received the invoice to pay, it was wrong and we were trying to be overcharged for what was installed, so there is obviously no communication along with poor customer service outside of the technicians. read more

Last year Trademark Mechanical installed a new central air conditioner. Last week it failed. We called them and were told that the compressor was under warranty and would be installed in two days. The next day they informed us that the compressor would be free but that labor would be about $600.00 since it had been 15 months, three months past the warranty's end for labor. They said the compressor would be in by the middle of the following week, which is tomorrow. Today we called and were told they didn't know where the compressor was. Later in the day they informed us that it was a week out, and they will try to schedule it for next Wednesday or possibly Friday. This is during the hottest part of the year with temperatures predicted past 100 and small children in the house. It is hard to understand how in this age of being able to trace packages from beginning to end they could not know where something this important is. It is also hard to understand why we had to call them instead of their keeping us informed, especially during such dangerous weather. Their initial assessment of two days has so far turned into at least two weeks with no guarantee of that being the end of it. read more

I have a Fujitsu heat/cooling pump. I had red and green lights flashing and was afraid I would ruin the unit if I didn't shut it off. Trademark was prom[t in letting me know when the technician would be at my house. He had to call the maker of the unit. Michael returned a call before 9:00 am the next morning telling me it was not critical and the unit would still run fine to heat my condo. I feel he was very honest and the fee for coming to the house was minimal. read more

Would NOT recommended or use them. I was very disappointed in how Trademark re-routed the gas line at my house. It looks very unsightly on the side of my house. Trademark did a great job installing a new Carrier furnace for us along with a better filtration system. The furnace appears to be much more efficient than the old furnace. During installation, Trademark Techs were very careful not to track any debris on our light colored carpets. They put down drop cloths everywhere they would be walking. We were new to the area. Looked at reviews and called Trademark Mechanical. Just seemed like a good choice. Tom came out and he spent over an hour looking at our house, listened to us and made recommendations. Tom is pretty awesome at his profession. In the end, three other companies came out and spent no real time with us and couldn't really give us an estimate. The guys from Trademark Mechanical came in and did some really difficult work and I was pretty impressed. At the end of the day, they did a great job installing the ductless/heating system and it was everything and more that Tom said it was. We could not be happier. We've tested the system and it can be as cold as a freezer and hot as an oven. It is no joke. Anyway. Call them and have Tom come out. You can decide for yourself. They did great work, they cleaned up and were just very polite. Gave me the impression they really appreciated our business. read more

Just spent $285. for nothing. 2 servicemen from Trademark Mechanical came out to fix our Mendota stove, spent 3 hours working on it, thinking it was fixed, but turned it on and it didn't start. Neither really knew what to do next, because they need a repair manual or advice they could not get. I wasn't charged the full amount that could have been charged, but paying for a failed service, or a prolonged service from servicemen who are unsure about what they are doing seems foolish, not to mention expensive. Maybe this company is good on certain brands, but don't get them working on a Mendota. read more

I got their postcard in the mail for a summer check up for my air conditioner. I know from living in TX that routine maintenance is key to AC units. Perrin called and asked if he could come early. He arrived and did a complete inspection. Perrin told me that the capacitor was border line but that it should work for a while but that he would replace it if I liked. I plan on switching from an electric to propane furnace in the near future so I opted to take the chance. He checked the temps and my unit was functioning properly. Perrin left me an air filter for the next change. This area is getting busy for the trades, often times it is hard to get somebody to even call you back much less show up.
