There are so many things that I love about Trader Joe's... I tried to add these suggestions to my last review but was notified I exceeded the max word count DOH! My favorite thing I've had recently is the portobello mushroom truffle ravioli... (I was trying to duplicate the most wonderful appetizer they serve at Little Italy, my favorite go to romantic place for a dinner in Bako ). I bought two packages of the ravioli, and made a simple Mario Battali butter and sage sauce to top the ravioli . It was sooo easy and delicious, and my friend loved it too! The next day, when heating up the leftovers, I added some of the packaged fresh organic baby spinach. The butter sage sauce was delicious on the spinach... There is something about adding vegetables to an otherwise decadent dish which makes one feel a little less guilty, as if adding the veggies somehow subtracts calories. Snacks: My friend turned me on to the the rosemary marcona almonds, and I served those with some of the TJ sliced assorted meats (salami, prosciutto), and truffle cheese and it was a huge hit. Tonight I made a pizza myself with the cauliflower Pizza crust - it was so delicious! It's easy- you can get all the ingredients pre - chopped, cut, made, peeled... of course it's not as quick as ordering g a pizza to pick up, but it's just as delicious! I took some of the pre-chopped onion that they have there, put that in a pan with some peeled garlic cloves and grilled that. I added mushrooms after draining the excess water, and mixed all of that with the wonderful bruschetta sauce (olive oil, basil garlic and tomatoes)they have at TJ's. (I discovered this sauce at a friend's party, where she served it with some crusty Italian bread. I thought she had made it fresh. Genius). I spooned this "sauce" on the cauliflower crust, and added fresh basil and sage. I drizzled some of the lower in fat mozzarella TJs sells, and broiled The pizza until the cheese was bubbly and slightly browned... It was super delicious, and not as heavy as regular pizza. I think it's helpful to make the crust as the instructions direct on the box but also brown it a bit under the broiler to get it crispy; doing so will prevent you from getting a soggy crust if you weigh it down with a lot of fresh veggies and herbs as I did. Finally another easy super delicious easy thing to make is deviled eggs. TJs makes it easy. TJs has hard boiled eggs- and that saves a lot of time. I used a recipe my friend got from the cooking channel for some deviled eggs she served at a holiday party last year- it merely involves mixing some sour cream to the yolks and topping the simple mixture with bacon bits and chives. TJs has partially cooked bacon which you easily finishing cooking in the microwave until you get the desired crispiness... sooo easy! read more

My family loves the frozen Mandarin Orange Chicken from Trader Joe's. I serve it at least once a month. Over the past few months, I've noticed the chicken pieces are getting smaller - some of them could be described as "crumbs". About a few months ago, the price went up $1 a package! This week, I bought my usual 3 packages, and as I opened each one to place on a cookie sheet, I noticed there was a noticeable difference of how much is now in each package. I can spend an hour here easily just walking the aisles. The staff is always so helpful and the cashiers keep the line moving. It is a small store, but I can usually find my favorites and new products. I came in with my husband on Friday night to restock our freezer. We got the chicken gyoza and cilantro chicken mini wontons. They are perfect in soups or with curry. I wanted to try the soup dumplings and was lucky to spot the last two boxes. We couldnt forget about dessert so we grabbed a box that has 3 varieties of cake bites. I did spot, a new to me, salmon seasoning. I decided to pick up a ranch seasoning for potatoes. We also picked up some lambic beer, truffles, and other sweets as gifts. My husband treated himself to some boozy egg nog. He loved it! Trader Joes somehow always pioneers the greatest & my most favorite grocery items all throughout the year! While the set up of the stores are always so organized, there is always polite staff there to help if I need assistance looking for a product. I personally love that Trader Joes sales a wide selection of delicious ingredients, but also the store also provides great convenient meals that have 5-10 minute cook time! I am able to purchase all my fresh herbs, cabinet spices, produce, delicious desserts and so much more! I have been a loyal Trader Joe's shopper since 2006 and have never been disappointed by a single product from them! read more

This is a spacious location with helpful service. I haven't been in for sometime since I'm usually here when visiting my sister, but love how well stocked everything is. The parking lot is fairly easy as it's encompassed by several other shops and businesses off Stockdale Hwy... Very walkable distance CSUB students. They are doing an excellent job with health and safety practices... The wait in line is fast regardless of how many people they allow in store at a time... Probably one of the best locations in the chain practicing at all hours of operation. I come here for the soy chorizo, $1 chocolate raspberry bars and leave with a lot of wine and then some... Gotta love TJ's. read more

Last week, I went to a Trader Joe's in the USC Village and I came across the Mango Tangerine candle. I sniffed it and it smelled soooooo amazing. For $3.99, I HAD to buy it. I've been having it blaze so much that I already used up all the wax. Now that I'm back home, I went over to my local Trader Joe's and went straight to get this candle. Thankfully, they had a large supply available so I'd probably be able to go get more by the time this burns out. While I was there, I also picked up these Sour Cream & Onion corn puffs that I absolutely love. They taste great and they're only about 2 calories a puff according to the nutrition labelI also saw this pickle-flavored popcorn that my sister had mentioned seeing in a Tik Tok a few weeks ago, so I also made sure to snatch those up for her. 3/9/23 Great food, great selection. Unfortunately I was unfairly profiled by the lady cashier. She gave me an odd look, then asked my wife if she knew me, my wife said yes that's my husband, and the cashier said "ok I wanted to know if I should call security." That's one of the many problems we have in this country. Why would she need security? What's next, the cops? And for what exactly? Lets try to change. Favorite place to shop of all time! I am a busy mom of three so it's challenging to sometimes get to this store and really wish they would offer curb side pick up or grocery delivery. Trader Joe's is one of my favorite spots it's convenient and economical. The staff is always chipper, friendly and ready to assist. If you know what you want you can easily run in and out without the big grocery store hassle. The wine section is great they have amazing local wines and from what I hear a great 2 buck chuck variety. I like the fact that the eggs are cage free the chicken and beef are antibiotic free. This Trader Joe's is a little smaller than most of the ones we shop at in Northern California and Nevada but has the same outstanding service you expect from Trader Joe's. They have the friendliest most helpful employees around! I love this store! Everytime I walk in they have something new that I want to try out. The employees are such a pleasure to talk to. I have been coming In every now and then to ask if they have this Green Juice in a glass jar my friend got me hooked on. Of course the manufacturers are having some kind of shipping issues with it and I haven't been able to get it but the employees are always checking for me. The grocery selection they have here is great. I love the pesto marinated chicken. They carry a good selection of produce as well. They have a good GF selection including frozen items. Their ready made salads are so delicious. They have a great selection of fresh flowers. I like to come and pick out flowers to make my own bouquets but they also have ready made bouquets too. My fiancé and I used to love coming here, we always had great experiences until 4/7/25 at 6:20pm. The cashier we had was extremely rude and made us feel so degraded. I truly pray for whatever is hovering over her and her cold heart, so she learns how to treat people because the way she treated us was not okay at all. She should not be working in customer service when she clearly has no customer service skills. She was constantly giving us dirty looks and huffing and puffing because the card reader wasn't reading the chip on our card and said some very rude things and things that are not only very disrespectful, but very unprofessional. She was rude to us at the very moment we came to the register and as soon as she saw us use our ebt card she was even more unprofessional and made us feel like we were less. So degrading and so upsetting. This cashier's attitude was truly disgusting and makes us not want to go back to Trader Joe's again. I'm not able to find the id number on the receipt, but the name shows her first initial and last name which is W, Dale. I truly hope that God heals whatever rotten bad energy is inside of her because she should never ever treat people this way. This is my go-to spot for weekly grocery shopping in Bakersfield. LOVE! There is so much variety here, and I seem to find something new every time I visit. Came in looking for single serving prepackaged oatmeal to take on vacation. I thought they'd have something but all they had were cans of oats. All good though because I got a couple of bottles of Honeydew juice to mix with some post workout drinks, and a couple good (and inexpensive) bottles of wine. The store was clean as always, and the staff was super friendly. No loose carts out in the parking lot, and plenty of cashiers to make checking out quick and easy. Just a little post to restore some faith in humanity. Trader Joe's was my grandma's favorite place to shop, and she would always go here to buy the cheese she put on her spaghetti (best cheese ever)! Every time I pass this place I always say it how she pronounced it in her Italian accent "Trada Jost", but I get such bad anxiety I can never go inside. We are making spaghetti tonight for dinner and when I passed by today I told myself I need to go inside and get grandma's cheese, just do it So I went inside, bricks feeling like they were toppling on top of me every step I took wandering around trying to find this cheese. I finally found it, and first one I picked up and looked at the expiration date is my grandma's birthday I just knew in that moment she was with me! I walked around a little more to try and find the cookies she always bought, and they still have them When I went to check out, the cashier asked me how I was doing and I just started crying telling her I have so much anxiety being in this store because it was my grandma's favorite and I haven't come in in years. She stepped around and gave me a big long hug while I cried, and talked to me. I can't tell you how much I didn't know I needed that in that moment. She then brought me a bouquet of flowers and said she wanted me to have them. I was floored by the kindness! Today I learned grief and angels come in all forms. Anyone that is everyone who leaves a bad review or anything less than five stars for Trader Joe's has no soul. I would never limit myself on the amount of favorite items I have here but for you that come to mind are as follows: eggplant hummus, sweet chili sauce, aged white cheddar puffs, Charlee Bear dog treats, and the sampling table (not an item but a definite must ).And if it's not the food that keeps you coming back for more, it's the customer service. They are helpful, with a sweet demeanor and willingness to start a conversation on a personal level every time you check out. In my opinion that's huge. I am updating Traders to a 4 star review as I find myself here all the time. And, I get addicted to something new every week from the frozen area. This week it is the low fat chicken chow mein (a 5!) And last week it was the less-guilt Mac and cheese (blue box)(a 4.5). My hubby buys the sweet plantain chip bags by the dozen. (Yellow bag, not the ones with the monkey on it) The parking lot should have a video camera showing America's Worst Drivers. It is bad. The spaces are smaller too and the lot is super busy with other stores. So, I have come out often to find myself having to crawl into my passenger side as I have been blocked in. Every time I have checked out, the cashiers are so fun and friendly. Thus, up a star. The sample people and stock floor people a bit grouchy at times though! I get it, it gets very busy here esp. On Sundays!!! I find the produce (fruit) a bit limited and deli meats/cheese/steaks too pricey but other things make up for that making this a great store. This is my favorite store in Bakersfield. They have things that no other store has or has even thought of. It's super clean with wide aisles. I love all the different kinds of bread they have that are not available in other stores. I bought fancy jars of cherry peppers stuffed with garlic and capers that are amazing. The deli Dept has great meats and cheeses and the produce is beautiful. You might luck out and get to taste samples of things in the back of the store at tunes. The place to go when you want to purchase waaaay affordable alcohol and snacks. I hadn't been to Trader Joe's in months - so I was excited for a brief excursion here on my recent visit to Bakersfield. The staff were extremely helpful and even offered up suggestions when it came to choosing certain goods. Though I normally steer clear of Trader Joe's produce - I was pretty impressed with my grapes. Trader Joe's isn't necessarily the best option if you're craving organic food with minimal ingredients but they definitely know what's up when it comes to affordable ready to grab and eat food. A clean, friendly, easy-to-access TJ's right off the highway. After our Vegas binge-fests, we like to stop here on the way home to ease ourselves back into society. Trader Joe's is terrific. Almost everything that they sell here is healthy or healthier for us. The prices are reasonable and the grocery selection is fabulous. Most of their items ranging from the baked goods to dairy products to snacks to frozen food and everything in between uses their own Trader Joe's label. These products are really good too, and are less expensive than the brand names found in most grocery stores. I can also find various beers and wines here that cannot be found in other stores. The staff is always helpful and friendly. From the person offering samples in the back of the store to the staff who rings up our purchases, everyone is terrific. I also like their uniforms.
