The Trader Joe's here is good but only enough to get the job done. It's located between Bellevue and Redmond, and really close to the Microsoft campus. The employees are friendly and very helpful but are comparably less upbeat than what I've experienced at other Trader Joe's. What's good? There have always been free samples every time I've been here. Parking is never an issue. The place isn't too packed, but there are occasional more busier hours. What's not as good? I would recommend checking your fruits. I've occasionally found the berries to be moldy. Arguably less options for meat and vegetables here too. If you're planning to do a single trip to the store for all your needs, this isn't the best place for that. All in all, I'll still keep coming here. Like I said, it gets the job done. read more

How about being told: no you cannot return anything UNLESS YOU OPENED IT AND DID NOT LIKE IT!?! That is precisely what I was told by this young girl who seems to be in her 20's. I told her, I will be complaining unless you take my return. I gave her 3 chances to set it right. I also told her I been shopping at TJ and no one ever asked for my receipt. She also gave me a fake number to call when I asked for a number to call to complain. Had she told me that she will be throwing out unopened shelf food due to covid, like at another location I went to where I decided not to return it to stop the waste of food, I would've not pursued the return. Instead, she insulted me and told me I cannot return anything unless my reason is not liking the product. After shopping at Trader Joe for more than 10 years, the company image got lowered due to bad products. [Last year] I gave up heirloom tomato because of constant rotten pieces. [This year] I gave up my favorite Persian cucumber. Too many rot and too often. According to a website, "cucumbers are susceptible to cold injury if held more than 3 days at temperatures lower than 50F/10C. Signs of cold injury are wateriness, pitting on the outside and accelerated decay." There cucumbers must have been in their warehouse more than a week. [Final comment] Packed vegetables would get really bad with decay and mold. There business strategy, efficiency costing sickening foods. read more

My neighborhood store. I've been a customer for 8 years now, but tonight is the night I officially say it: I love you guys. It's a weekday night, the store is pretty empty and I'm humming to Christmas music playing over the speakers. The cashier and the guy in front of me are talking about Christmas plans. The gentleman in front of me mentions something about his wife, and then I see the cashier stepping to the back and coming out with beautiful flowers. "It's on the house, sir" says the cashier. The gentleman thanks him; I can see his eyes getting teary. When he leaves I ask the cashier if everything is ok. He shares that the man has to go through surgery for brain cancer very soon and he wanted to cheer him up. "Everyone deserves some holiday spirit" he says with a smile. We change the subject to something lighter--how addictive potato chips with truffles are. I'm trying to ignore how beautiful this random act of kindness is so I don't cry right in front of him. My Christmas wish this year is that every person in the world has a place in their life where the cashiers can bring flowers to cheer them up when they most need it. This review is for all trader joe's locations and the company as a whole....I honestly have never come across a company which brags an impressive size and manages to cater to customer service so well. The only other grocery store I have ever come across which has proven to have comparable customer service is Oregon based's New Seasons....however since New Season's prices are about 30% higher than Trader Joe's I wouldn't ever really compare the two. Trader Joe's is known for fresh organic foods at great prices. Their selection of food changes seasonally. I have been frequenting the Trader Joe's location in Crossroads by my apartment for the red cans of albacore tuna that's unsalted....only grocery store to have unsalted tuna....my dog loves it....it's a decent part of his diet. The frozen ready made entrees are also a steal. You can have a decent tasting dinner of chicken, beef, salmon, cod, etc. for around $6 or less.....with minimal to no preservatives! In case you don't agree with the purchase you made, they are more than willing to take back any item for full refund without any questions. Every staff member has always been cordial and excited about their job....that's because the company takes care of their members and pays them very well compared to other grocery stores. I know a guy who works at this location who spent nearly 2 decades with QFC. He switched over to Trader Joe's and says he couldn't be happier. Really nice TJ's location. Ample parking, nice wine selection and the cheapest prices on bananas anywhere. Large selection of tasty frozen items, (makes life so easy if you're hosting a Hawk's viewing party for example). I'd like to see more Trader Joe's locations throughout the Eastside! read more

I love this Trader Joe's as it is close to my house, clean and modern. The cashiers are always really friendly and staff willing to help you find stuff. I never have to wait in line for long and parking is easily available and free! I love the seasonal wine & food they have as well as trying different free samples of food at the back of the store. read more

Let me start out by saying that I usually love TJ's. I tend to buy most of my groceries here and adore everything in their freezer section. A huge step above other grocery stores. This location, however, has a MASSIVE issue with slow product turnover within fresh produce and bakery items. Last week I bought muffins that still had 7 days before the "use by" date. The next day I went to grab one and their was mold speckled all over it. Yes, the store manager refunded me but that required an additional trip. Again, today I went to buy raspberries and when I got home saw that the use by date was 6 days prior. I usually am good about checking these but the print was so faint that I missed it. The thing that irks me the most is that every time I have quality issues (there are more times than these 2 sadly) I let the manager know very nicely and he says he will fix the shelves. Never happens. I am in ~1 time per day to get a salad for lunch and check and always see the same issues. Also - lines at lunch time are INSANE - why do they not have 1-2 express lanes?? read more

I love Trader Joe's. This location is especially great since it's more spacious than other locations I've been to in WA. Their crew members are awesome, as always. I was walking by their cheese section & commented to my friends about how I've always wanted to try their chocolate cheddar. One of the crew members overheard & opened up a cheddar cheese for us to try right then and there! (FYI, he said it makes an amazing grilled cheese.) I always go in expecting to bring back something new to try, which is another reason why i love TJ so much. Here's my list of TJ staples that I get almost every time I go. Must Try: -Cookie butter (duh) -Prepackaged salads. I always get the lemon chicken & arugula salad & the Farmer's Market salad. -Soycutash- frozen edamame, corn, & red peppers. My favorite frozen vegetable blend. -Inner Peas- Not only is it a delicious snack (that I usually finish in one sitting), but how can you resist the adorable green pea cartoon on the packaging? -Pomegranate Green Tea- very lightly sweetened, and delicious -Trail Mix- once you enter their nuts section, you might never leave. There's so many awesome trail mixes & dried fruit combos here. -Any of their chocolate. And there's a LOT to choose from. read more

I am giving one star because I can't give -100. Its worst grocery store I have ever shopped in. We usually shop in fred Mayer's or qfc and never had bad experience with it. We tried trador joes last week. Here are the list of things that went wrong. - Cucumber had fungus in it. - Cabbage was saur -Bread was expiring on same day I purchased.(I should have noticed) - Orange juice was tasting like preservatives overkilled it. We threw it the same day. - potataos have some jelly coming out of it. All of the stuff went bad before expiry. This might sound fake but I swear not a single bit is lie. I am definitely a fan of this trader joe's. They have a great selection and their staff is very helpful. It isn't extremely crowded on the weekends and you can always find parking because it sits on a large lot. Love this trader's. I am a total fan. read more

Love going here! I always find more stuff to try (good and bad thing?) A few items I've bought: -almond butter: yummm -mango& cream AND coffee latte & cream bars: perfect size that won't make you feel like a fatty -garlic naan: better than ones I've gotten in Fred Meyer -falafel wrap: good lunch for on-the-go -cookie butter good but not spectacular as everyone makes it IMO -chia seeds: good, but definitely better value at Costco -milk chocolate covered peanut butter pretzels: uhm YES there's tons more, but I am blanking right now. My one years old opened a box of large box of blueberries while sitting in the cart and they went all over the floor. It was a huge rain of berries on the floor. About three employees came to me right away with the nicest energy and support. People who work here are happy, energetic, healthy and super kind. Thank you!!!! I love TJ's. Being from Cali, I'm used to seeing them everywhere and wish there were more stores in my neighborhood. There's one on the other side of town which I'll go to, even though there are 5 other grocery stores that are much closer. What I love about TJ's: 1. Cheap and delicious wine selection (this store does wine tasting Thursday - Sunday) 2. Cheap seasonings (~$2 per bottle) 3. Great frozen food selection - my favs are the palak paneer, chicken tacos, pork gyoza 4. SAMPLES and FREE COFFEE! 5. Fresh produce - especially love the Brussels sprouts and ready to eat beets 6. Dips! Hummus! Guac! 7. Good cheese and nut selection 8. Lots of grab and go items like salads and sandwiches This one is there new-ish location with larger aisles and plenty of parking. It can get extremely busy around 5p when the nearby Microsoft folks are heading home (I used to be one of them. Would stop every day on my way home when I used to work in Redmond - not great for my bank account but fun way to unwind from work). This will always be one of my favorite grocery stores to shop in and I heard that there will be one built in downtown Bellevue soon - can't wait! read more

Seems like a pretty new store - haven't noticed it in the past. As always with each Trader Joe's, you can expect the produce to be fresh and the shelves to be stacked. The employees are super friendly and helpful. This store is a bit smaller than most but maybe just efficiently displayed. I also do like the spacious parking lot. It makes it easy to get in and out without driving around trying to find a spot. read more

It's a very basic grocery store with limited amounts of food. They only had a small selection of meat and vegetables and frozen goods. I had to make trip to Whole Foods to make the rest of my grocery shopping. Only go here if you need basic foods like eggs or milk and maybe some fruits. I will probably go to Safeway from now on. read more

This is the brand new Joe's location for Bellevue, WA. It's bigger than the last, the parking is easier, and it happens to be closer to my house. Everyone was friendly, I was greeted by the produce stocking guy. The cashier was wearing a wine cork necklace. Everything is new so it was big, bright, and everyone was cheery for HALLOWEEN DAY. All the same great products you would expect from a Trader Joe's but I bet for awhile this one will be even more fresh and friendly than the others. read more

TJ's is the best. I buys most of my groceries here. Affordable, high quality food, unique items, helpful staff. I have to stay away from their frozen food aisle because it's just way too delicious. They have deep-fried mac n' cheese balls that are almost exactly like the Cheesecake Factory's. It's so unhealthy but so amazing. I can't believe how nice the staff are! They never look annoyed or inconvenienced when I ask for help. And the cashiers are so friendly and quick! It's rare to find that in a grocery store. I've heard they are paid min. wage there so I don't know how they can be so happy to help you, haha. They always grab more cashiers if the lines start to pile up, I've never waited more than a couple minutes at check-out. I just feel overall welcome here. Their brie is affordable and reallyyyy good. Some of my other favorites are their sliced mangos, pre-made salads, their chocolate lava cakes, chocolate covered potato chips. My goodness I could go on about this place for forever. read more

I can't say enough amazing things about traders joes! Prices are always cheaper than any other store. You can get Greek yogurt for over a dollar cheaper than Safeway, along with a bag of organic spinach for 1.99. Safeway can't top that! I also really recommend there frozen section, so many amazing Indian/Chinese/Mexican items, along with traders joes wine! It's about three dollars and it taste pretty good. I like this "new" Trader Joe's. Shopping is much more pleasant with the wider isles, and parking is good. I wanted to get some of the handmade tamales (only available in Dec) so although it was the weekend, I headed to TJ's. Hint: traffic and parking is great if there is a Seahawks game going on. Eliminates a portion of shoppers. This morning,( a Monday,) I called to inquire if the tamales are available nationwide, as I have a son in Boston who didn't know about them. Took some time to research by the employee, but yes they are ! He also mentioned they freeze well, and he had already stocked up. Me too. I think the checkout stations are smaller than the previous store. As I only go every couple of months, my cart is overflowing, but the checkout person managed it well. Unfortunately, I don't have many positive things to report about this Trader Joe's. I have now found 3 different items I use fairly regularly in my kitchen that they don't stock at all - dry beans (kidney, black etc), corn flour and peas (frozen or otherwise). Further, at this location at least, I've often found the fruits (the berries, in particular) much less fresh than I'd like them to be. I understand that Trader Joe's trademark is to sell unique items of high quality but personally, I'd rather shop at a store like Whole Foods, which provides the same health and environment benefits but additionally stocks most of the products that I need. read more

I have been shopping here since they opened around the corner (when Longs was next door). This is a bigger store which is nice, but I kind of miss the old one.
