This review is about Jane. I love Trader Joes so I hate to do this. I've been shopping at this one for 17yrs. Been to many different Trader Joes and their service has always been impressive no matter the location. Part of the reason why I love Trader Joes...their service. If you ever need any help they will gladly drop what they're doing and assist you as if you're the most important person. I've even had employees appear, what seems from nowhere, and help me because they saw me struggle with something. I rarely receive the kind of service Trader Joes offers anywhere else. You name it...whole foods, gelsons, ralphs, vons... So what happened? I went there late. They close at 9pm and I got there around 8:30. I get it, when it's nearing closing time everyone wants to be done so they can go home earlier. But why should that be my problem? Or maybe that's not the reason why I was mistreated? Maybe I was in her way? I was in the back section looking for cookies. They're on these racks, those produce display racks. This one's round, and they stack all the cookies and bakery items on them. I saw a bunch of trays laying on the floor near it but don't recall seeing anyone. I saw the cookies I was looking for and walked to the side they were on. Started picking through the packages to find the flavor I wanted and suddenly I felt someone looking at me. I turned around and Jane gave me the nastiest look. Not sure why, I'm just trying to find my cookies and be on my way. She then said in a completely unprofessional, rude, and condescending tone..."You know that if you walk to the other side you can still look at those?" I was in disbelief. She then continued with her attitude by saying..."I wouldn't want to accidently hit you while lifting these trays." I was in such disbelief I didn't know what to do. Even though the cookies I were looking for were on that side I walked to the other side. And then I said to her, "I would have walked to this side in the first place but the cookies I'm looking for are on that side." Although, I really wanted to say something else! I found one of the cookies I was looking for but couldn't find the other flavor. In the meantime I felt as though she said something about me to another female employee. I saw them looking my way and whispering with each other. Made me feel even more uncomfortable. I wanted to leave but the cookies I couldn't find were for my mom so I definitely wanted to try to find them. I didn't want to ask her but since it was for my mom I did. Very awkward. She started walking quickly so I left my shopping cart there with 1 bag of cookies in them. I followed her to another section and found the cookies my mom wanted. I grabbed them and walked back to my cart...which was gone along with the bag of cookies. Jane was talking with 3-4 female employees and 1 male employee. I could hear them laughing. I asked them if they had seen my cart and the bag of cookies I had in it. Jane shrugged her shoulders and they all scattered giggling. Then one of the girls pointed to a cart with some boxes inside. I said no that's not mine. I can't say for sure but I had a gut feeling they had purposely taken my cart and misplaced the other bag of cookies. It was a really uncomfortable and unusual experience. Something I never thought I'd encounter at Trader Joes. What's even more unusual is that I encountered another anomalous experience that night. While this was all happening, Jane said something to the girl who was working the sample station. In response to Jane that girl started venting something about customers. She was loud, deliberate in my view. I couldn't believe what I experienced that night at Trader Joes. It felt like I was in the twilight zone. read more

I love TJ so much!! Cheap and affordable foodies here! Love how I always see worker restocking around the veggies/salad/fruit area!!! Food are fresh and delicious! Cashiers make u feel very welcoming and easy to connect with! Always a great experience here, at this location!!! read more

Besides being the best trader Joe's with the most ample parking this trader joes now has a special place in my heart. I want to give their employees and management a special thank you after we were attacked by a random woman who yelled at my 6 year old daughter for standing behind her while she attempted to pull out her cart, then had her vicious adult daughter continue where she left off when i asked her to direct her words towards me the adult and not a child. The employees ran to our aid and diffused the situation. They walked us through the store and made my kids feel safe and better. I thought they would feel confused or distaught but management showed them they had done nothing wrong and treated us with the upmost respect. Not one tear from the kids at the end of the ordeal. It could have had a very different ending had it not been for the employees and Chris manager. So much gratitude toward people that take the time to look at children as people worthy of respect. I have frequented Trader Joe's for many years. When this one opened some years back, it became a regular weekly thing for me. Then when there was a grocery store strike, this became my main market. I really like the idea that they have a great selection of ready-to-go salads. And my husband is okay with my packing them for his lunch. The produce selection is smaller than my local Ralph's, but what they do have is quite good, and usually at a better price. Especially the berries! I also get frozen veggies here and some other tasty treats like an amazing French Apple Tart, that is on a thin flaky crust. Not too sweet, and very quick from the freezer, to the oven, to the table. I like the pita chips, the cinnamon and the cheesy garlic and so do both my kids. (They're adults, but still my kids.) I buy a variety of different herbs and vitamins here as well. I don't know if they actually do any good, but what the heck, it seems like a healthy idea. read more

The head Manager I believe is name "mickey" or michelle" woomer is very rude and disrespectful, not only to customers but I have witnessed her talk down and treat some of her employees with no integrity and disrespect. I went to return the roses I bought that same day. It has been only 3 hrs since I bought it and the roses looked like if they were dying already. Normally I wouldn't of gone to return them but because this was for my mother who passed away, I decided to return them. I wanted the freshest and the prettiest one for her. I went to return it at the front desk and explained that I am sorry to even return it but it was for my mother. The staff were super caring and took care of the matter with ease. My Husband who was shopping while I was refining my flower also got the friendly service from the staff and his recommendation of the new beer they had. As we were proceeding to check out, one of the staff brought me a dozen of beautiful roses and told me to take it for my mom. He said they were sorry that it didn't work out the first time but hopefully this will. I was so touched by this, I don't know how to thank them. I'm so glad to know that there's still people like this. Thank you and I'm sure my mom will appreciate it. read more

It's like a universal law of Trader Joe's markets that the parking lot has to be awful. This one is no exception with it's tiny little spaces, but it's still about 2343290242 times better than most other Trader Joe's. The employees are nice and don't seem like they hate their jobs. The selection is great. I work around here but live in a different area where the Trader Joe's sucks. Will still go here after work rather than go to the one near me simply because the parking is better here read more

Big fan of Trader Joe's in general and this one in particular. Overall wine selection and outstanding help with price/performance wine tips make this a "best of" for wine buying, even if a lot of the rest (offbeat foods) is off my palette. Bottom line: go for the wine! read more

Excellent location (and so convenient in the same shopping center as Smart and Final and Subway!) and great employees. The employees always check in to make sure you're finding everything you need. I miss this location with the huge parking lot and all...now I'm in Sherman Oaks and while that's a great store, it doesn't hold a candle to the Chatsworth location. I would've never thought of writing a review for TJ's, but they just consistently deliver quality customer service. What a well managed grocery chain. Today, June 23, I needed to be in and out in 5 minutes and the minute I walked in, a young lady helped me find cookie butter and all the other stuff I needed to locate. At the cash register, like a bozo, I forgot my bag! Justin quickly picked up an empty cardboard box and placed all my items in there. How awesome is that compared to other markets? They are, in my opinion, the Four Seasons Hotel of grocery chains. Keep it up! read more

I waited a long time for TJs to move into Chatsworth and I want to make sure that they don't leave. The staff is great - always helpful and friendly. The parking is great and it's easy to get in and out because the staff will quickly open new registers if lines get too long. They also make sure that customers are not harassed by solicitors at the entrance Solicitors must keep their distance from the entrance, which is very much appreciated. read more

I Love Trader Joe's for so many reasons. They are the cleanest market I have ever been in,& that means alot to me.There produce is exceptional, & their cheese is out of this world. Have you ever tried their Mini Carrotts Cakes (oh my gosh, you would think you had died & gone to heaven).Everything at Trader Joe's is delicious!! Their flowers are beautiful & their greeting Cards are great. Most of all are the people that work their, they are the BEST in the WORLD!!! I Love chatting with them as I am doing my shopping. Thank You Trader Joe's for making grocery shopping such a delightful experience; I feel so SPECIAL when they unload my grocery chart especially when they greet me with such a warm SMILE!!! The one thing I do miss is their Fresh Meat Market (maybe someday soon economy willing they will put in a meat market where everyone can enjoy affordable meat ).
