A blonde woman manager is discriminative towards service dogs. She made my husband feel very uncomfortable by giving him a rude stare after he said our 7lb dog was a service animal. He felt so uncomfortable that he walked up to the customer service booth and literally showed her official documentation and the services our dog provides. Just some feedback for management to train your employees how to have better mannerism and etiquette when dealing with service dogs. read more

It's a Trader Joe's, so that's the upside. The downsides are the atmosphere and customer care. The layout of this location is cramped and awkward. No matter how many times I've come here, I always have to hunt for certain items that are placed in unlikely places. Unless you're going at an off-peak hour, you'll be running into and dodging both shoppers and staff, which makes for a rushed and off-putting experience. Checkout experience is the same--awkward and cramped. As for customer service, it used to be more friendly. But times have changed. When I was in the store yesterday, the checker had his back to me when I arrived at the register as he was busy talking to a bagger. She saw me, but she didn't make a motion to her "crew" mate. I finally just put my items on the counter, so neither of them could avoid the transaction. The checker begrudgingly turned around, but he didn't greet me and began talking incessantly to his coworker behind me. He didn't bother to even look my direction as he handed me the receipt. No one likes to feel ignored or like he or she is getting in the way of an employee's social hour. I think it's high time that the management at this location steps up their game and trains their "crew" to be professional, polite, and welcoming. From a loyal Trader Joe's customer, I score your store a low rating for lack of friendly service. I'm giving two stars rather than one because, like I said, least it's still a Trader Joe's. read more

Ohhh I get to be the 100th review for this great Trader Joe's location in the neighborhood of Fairfield! Wait. What was that? You've never heard of Fairfield? Neither did I until I met my husband almost 25 years ago. But it's the midpoint between San Francisco and Sacramento and has a population of about 110,000. Every time I visit, I feel like I've stepped into a time warp. But thanks to the shopping center, Solano Town Center, all of the shops inside and along the perimeter of the mall are current and thriving - like Trader Joe's! The staff are always warm and friendly. They are especially helpful, too! I always make a stop here to purchase goodies for the office back in Hawaii. And it never fails, there's always a worker asking if they could assist with finding something or if I had questions. Also, the prices are the best! For example, a tub of Shortbread Cookies or Peanut Butter Cups are well under $5 each. Throw in a cool looking reusable bag for $0.99 to carry it all and you're all set! Great place to shop daily for groceries or a quick stop for unique "Trader Joe's" pick-ups we can't find on the island. This location is near Ross and Babies R Us. The parking lot is spacious and won't cost you a thing. read more

For the days when I don't want to walk a mile to get a few food items I will go to Trader Joe's. A place that is not large in comparison to other stores, but on a whole still has a lot of great quality options for everyone. If you have a large family it may not be cost effective to do your grocery shopping here. Although for our home of two they have exactly what I need when I don't want to get the bulk or spend those extra dollars at Costco. For a few bucks the Trader Joe's kale that is cut, cleaned, and ready to cook makes healthy eating easier for when I want to have salads. You can get one or two vegetables for cents anywhere, but I appreciate not having to go a block browsing through all the produce. On a more indulging note I love getting their brand of ten pack of hashbrowns. Two bucks or so and a little oil on the pan and you don't have to go to McDonalds! The red Thai curry sauce is a favorite of ours for a easy weekday chicken dinner. We do like to add flour to make the sauce more thicker! Do you need flowers for a birthday or just because? Trader Joe's has the loveliest while also being surprisingly affordable. I have been on the receiving end and have given their arrangements and each time there are always smiles! I have yet to try and explore more of what Trader Joe's has to offer like their Greek style feta dressing and their acai purée packets. I recently purchased their soyaki sauce and thai yellow curry sauce. I can't wait to try them out and see how those turn out with our meals! To end on a good note their customer service is usually friendly and very helpful. It makes the experience that much better and makes you want to come back. It's a long time since I patronized a Trader Joe's Store. So many good buys here. From the local brand items, to the farm fresh vegetables, they are terribly missed. You see back in the Hawaiian Islands, we aren't privy to having one of these chains on island for good ol country grocery store. This is a small store however it's has a full stock of a great mom and pop shop. One of my favws are the dunkins. These are biscotti type biscuits perfect for, yup like the namesake....dunkin. You dunk them in coffee or milk. The also sell an assortment of cookies as well as snacks. They also have refrigerated items which include ready to cook meals, salads, dips, spreads, potatoes, entrees like breakfast items. Mmmm yummy. They also sell fresh bouquets of flowers.this is such a nice store to shop. The best part, No Lines!!! So while I'm here on the mainland, i stock up on my favorite items and bring them back home to enjoy. So hurry up Trader Joe's get one store opened on the island. read more

I used to go to this store a lot, but now I seem to go to the TJ's in Davis more. But wow, was I surprised by this little gem. The are doing a great job with this place. They are keeping it well organized and stocked. Speaking of organized, I really liked what they are doing with the beer section. All the TJ's you can buy the beers one can/bottle at a time, but in other stores you have to disassemble a 6 pack to get the one. Which, I don't like doing, but also makes a mess of the display. What they are doing different here is having them already disassembled and displayed as singles. Love it, I ended up buying way more beer because of that. I almost got one can of everyone brand/flavor. There rest of the store is great and everyone is always asking if I needed help. Thanks guys. read more

First off I'm a African American black man with a full time job and a wonderful daughter whom I provide for. I was discriminated against by the manager M. Patrick (he's white no disrespect I'm not racist & never will hate anyone based on the color of their skin) at the Fairfield branch today when I returned items that were given to me that wasn't in my cart. I did receive all of my items I put in my cart. It was foreign objects in my cart that I wasn't raised eating. The cashier either made a mistake or did it intentionally that's neither here nor there. Mr. Patrick embarrassed me in front of the whole store saying this seems suspicious loud enough for all to hear and I had a receipt for it. I purchased at another Trader Joe's store and didn't realize I was given the wrong items when I got home from my birthday vacation in Santa Rosa. My girlfriend has a more appealing look she's not African American & he showed her the upmost respect after he made me to look like a criminal at a store I shop at all the time but will no longer be spending my hard earned money there due to the blatant disrespect based on my skin pigmentation. People were in my business not even knowing me nor the situation but the jokes on them because they have to meet Jesus one day and it will be their time to be judged & they will not be found innocent as I was today at the store. I pray that management does the right thing and remove him from his position because racial discrimination is against the law in the work place. And the people that knows I'm a regular didn't even do the right thing & stand up for something for once in their timid lives. Very mad, I got bagels for my little girl Karen. When she opened them the next day it had pieces of mold!! My poor baby took a huge bite of mold and ended up in the ER!!! I've been shopping here for over 10 years. I have NEVER had a bad experience. Knock on wood! My store--just from my perspective--looks organized and the atmosphere is warm and inviting. Workers have tact and manners. I even saw 2 employees assisting an elderly couple that were vocally on the blunt side (that can come across as rude and callous. The company's credo is about the shopping experience. Well, I can believe that. My industry is still recovering from Covid. I would probably be here everyday if there was one in Vacaville.. Having lived in the apartments above the TJ's in Berkeley during college, I would definitely say it's both a blessing and a curse. Easy to run down and grab something while cooking, but a money sucker when you're hungry for some late night snacks.. The best thing about all the TJ's that I've been to besides the food of course, is the customer service. All the workers are friendly and they genuinely seem like they love coming to work. I love stopping in here for groceries, snacks, and to check out the new products at the end of the aisle in the back. Funny thing, I was carded yesterday for buying 'Brandy Beans' - basically boozy chocolates.. I love Trader Joe's! I have been in love with this grocery store since living in Emeryville for so many years with one of the first and only local neighborhood Bay Area Trader Joe's around at the time. I remember it being the only grocery store I would frequent because at that time, there were no other grocery stores in Emeryville or in close vicinity. I would have to drive into Oakland, Berkeley, or El Cerrito to shop at a grocery store. I learned early on how to enjoy great quality gourmet food items at a very reasonable price. It was wonderful to have Trader Joe's right down the street to pick up my grocery items. I haven't been to a Trader Joe's yet that doesn't always have a friendly staff. And the location in Fairfield certainly hits the mark! They are all welcoming with happy smiles as the door. They never seem bothered or too busy to stop what they are doing to answer a question or direct and even guide you to whatever you may be looking for. They never act hassled or put off by any of your questions at any time and if they don't know the answer, the go try to find someone who might. The customer service given at Trader Joe's is by far ONE OF THE BEST! i don't know how they find them or what they do to train them and keep them so kindly spirited, but it is such an enjoyable experience. Other retail stores and shops should really get the same type of training as Trader Joe's staff!! As all of Trader Joe's I've been to, and I have been to many now, the selection of items may be limited and seasonal, but the quality of goods is without question, most exceptional. Most Trader Joe's are much smaller than your local franchise grocery store, which makes it much less overwhelming. And you are more likely to find some incredibly amazing unlikely or hard to find items that you may overlook and not find in a big chain grocery store. Their specialty items, especially in their frozen section are fantastic! I have yet to not enjoy anything that I have tried. There are so many favorites! There is always a nice selection of cheeses, olive oil, nuts and trail mixes, snacks, cookie butter, wine and I can't forget the beautiful affordable flowers and plants! There is so much more and I could go on and on, but I would be here all day. Just go check it out at a Trader Joe's for yourself, if for some crazy reason you have been living under a rock and haven't been to one yet! You are definitely missing out! Trader Joe's often would offer samples of the featured items of the day. There would usually be a team member in the far back corner between the refrigerated dairy items and the bread and bakery items, cooking away on a back burner, convection oven or a microwave. The samples use to be plentiful and extremely persuasive to purchase the items, but since the COVID-19 pandemic, I notice that the sample items are no longer. It's great that Trader Joe's practices the recommended safety and health guidelines during these crazy unusual times. Fairfield Trader Joe's has been especially careful and conscious of the COVID-19 social distancing and safety guidelines and have been noticeably taking the proper precautions to keep all their staff and customers healthy and safe. I especially applaud them for this, especially because sometimes they receive some bad flack for this. Thank you Trader Joe's for being thoughtful and keeping in consideration those people who surround you. I have nothing but high praise for this Fairfield location of Trader Joe's. Man I love this place! My Favs: Store brand beer, cheesecake, fish nuggets, scones, sour dough bread, swordfish, flour tortillas, kefir, eggs, sour cream, kale ready to eat pre-washed. Any dark roast coffee. Their fresh flowers are the best. AND Chocolate anything! The pesto needs work, I don't love the yoghurt as it's too runny. I miss sarsaparilla, chocolate sugar free velamints and rye bread. They take the masks and cleaning seriously here and I love that. Parking is right out front and the staff are friendly. read more

I cannot say enough good things about Jarod and Alonzo at Trader Joe's! I had taken a differently abled senior in so she could buy her groceries. She had a large order. After they rang up her food and it was time to pay, her payment card had insufficent funds. They were very kind and patient with her. The process took about 15 minutes to figure out payment, but as a team, it all worked out. She was able to pay for all of her groceries. She was confused while things were working out, but they remained kind and patient. Some cashier folks in stores don't act so kind when challenges come up with payment so Alonzo and Jarod went above and beyond; including grabbing other items for her and offering to help to the car. Even though it's on the smaller side, this Trader Joe's still has a great selection of items. Fresh flowers, fruits & veggies, organic items, wine, frozen items, etc... I come here if I'm looking for something special or different. There's always something new to try. The staff is friendly and efficient. Lines are always moving quickly. Shelves are stocked full with many different items to choose from. Located in Fairfield, it's just down the highway from me. Nice having one not too far away. read more

I do not frequent Trader Joe's very often, but when I do, I SPLURGE! I literally become a kid in a candy store as I stock up on as much junk as possible; meyer lemon cookie thins, cheese puffs, and milk chocolate covered pretzels. These are some of my favorite items, OH and how could I forget about the most delicious Moscato I have ever tasted?!! Seriously their "Moscato D'Asti" is so AMAZING that AMAZING doesn't even do this wine justice. I had the absolute best customer service experience last night that just made my indulgence seem a bit more justified. My guilt over these calorie packed items went away the more I talked to the cashier. He was so friendly, talkative, and super personable. He gave me kudos on every item I was purchasing. He even made a few suggestions for my next visit that I will definitely take him up on. He filled me in on some of the special items they have only in summer, which was nice to know since I do not come to Trader Joe's often. I may need to change that! read more

We were on our way to San Jose and this was convenient for us to stop by to get a few groceries like Ginger Beer/Ale. Im always a fan of Trader Joe's. This particular one was different so far. The environment looks similar like all Trader Joe's and the products are always the same. The staff relatively were trained the same. The only difference for me was that this place used the BELLS a lot. I never been to a Trader Joe's that used the BELLS. Perhaps they all used them but I never witnessed it. This one was the first time I saw the BELLS being used. Frankly it was very entertaining to see the cashiers seeking help for Price Checks by ringing the BELL at their station. The place was clean. I was also curious about a new item I saw in one of the aisles, the pistachio cookies with white chocolate. I asked one of the workers if they knew if this was a popular item or if it was any good. She told me that it was popular and opened the package for me and my sisters to buy. I ended up buying it, of course but i appreciate their great customer service! I was craving something light, fruity, and refreshing to cool off with, so I thought I'd check what Trader Joe's had to offer since it was right across the street from my job. Also, I've been meaning to eat healthier so why not. Upon walking in, I noticed the place was busier during later parts of the day than in the mornings. I looked around and saw sale signs for a few items like their cookies and some flowers. After grabbing a basket I immediately went to the frozen dessert section. Found a box of mango cream bars (which I am now obsessed with), and eventually left with that plus a strawberry chia smoothie & kale chips. All for about $10 at check out.
