I took my daughter out for some one on one time and let her pick the itinerary - Menchie's was the last stop, as she's obsessed with frozen yogurt. This location is conveniently located with lots of parking. There's a few tables inside and there's a couple outside, but it was one of the 90 degree days, so we opted to stay inside in the AC. This yogurt spot is comparable to other frozen yogurt joints I've been to. Probably about ten yogurt flavors to choose from - we both tried the cake batter, and it was soooo good. Tasted just like cake batter (imagine that lol). The toppings bar is pretty impressive. Between crushed candies, cookies, sprinkles, whole candies, sauces, and more, there's got to be at least 50 choices! I went with cookie dough, crushed graham cracker, and crushed peanut butter cups. My only complaint is that service wasn't great, and we used the restroom here and it was absolutely filthy - black ring around the inside of the toilet and overall just not very clean so it obviously had been some time since anybody gave it any TLC. Both my daughter and I didn't load up our bowls, so for a treat for the two of us it was about $12. Worth it, in my opinion. Great option for the rest of these hot summer days! read more

Came into this location will never do it again. Not only do the staff not know anything about why the ice cream machines aren't working properly. They just say all that happens sometimes. They also are on their phones and also they don't even possess the app for to get points. I was sitting at that table amd got up for 1 min to help my kid and when turned around it was missing and i saw it in the trash. No apology from anyone not even bothering about it. I spent 10$ on a cofe that I did not had a chance to drink. Next time if you have customers in the store check with them before trowing a brand new heavy and hot coffe in the trash. and it's best to hire someone that can speak English as well and can apologize for the mistake she made. Came here for a girl's night. They had sampler cups out so you could try as many flavors as you wanted before committing to filling your cup. I got the cake batter and the vanilla/chocolate swirl. Endless toppings bar with all the cookies/brownies/candy/fruit you want, and hot fudge/chocolate/caramel drizzles to finish it off. Flavor is good, the place was clean, service was friendly. Great flavors, amazing assortment of toppings, it wasn't very busy and the business was very clean which was very good to see. The only down fall was the cost. It was nearly $50 for 5 fro-yos. That's 2 kids, 2 pre-teens and 1 adult. Not many toppings either. To me that was very costly. They need to lower the cost and I think the kids need a smaller cup option. read more

Staying in a local hotel this Menchies was within walking distance so naturally I visited a couple of times and I think I must be spoilt by my local Menchies as this one left me disappointed: 1. The flavors were really lacking. out of 12 flavors 4 of them were Vanilla of varying kinds, 2 Cake flavor (Vanilla and Cheesecake) and with 2 outdated flavors (Pumpkin and Java Chip from last Fall) along with the basic Chocolate, Watermelon and a few others. 2. The price is significantly more here at 54c an ounce. Menchies is franchise yet I was pretty surprised to see a higher price than California when the average annual income is less. That aside I had to get my Frozen Yogurt and it was conveniently located in the shopping plaza. The staff are all young and seem like they would rather be anywhere else, not the happy smiling staff expected.. whatever. After struggling to decide between the limited flavors the toppings bar kind of made up for it with lot's to choose from and all of my favorites - Mochi, Cheesecake pieces and Reeces. *TIP* Sign up for Menchies rewards and earn free yogurt with $5 Birthday credit. read more

Not a big fan of this location. The past month or two I have been coming here it's been messy, dirty, and condiments are usually empty. One issue I have is that any yogurt that is supposed to be "white" in color, such as the cake batter flavor, always comes out as "yellow." This hasn't been an issue with the location nearby to me in Puyallup. Excuse has been, it's a different milk, but I call bs with that excuse. I only get to this location 3-4 times a year. I like it better than the one I go to in Seattle all the time. This one has friendly staff - always smiling, helpful, and busy keeping everything stocked and ready. Often, I only find one flavor that is out (usually a special flavor). The toppings are fresh, which is really nice. When I was there last week, the blueberries, strawberries, and mangoes were fantastic! I find that froyo places often skimp on quality toppings such as fruit because the yogurt masks the flavor. Not this location. Those fruits were amazing and completely enhanced my yogurt experience. They have great merch, the store is nice and air conditioned, seating outside, and a clean bathroom. These all seem like simple things but really, I've seen other stores fail in these areas too many times not to give credit where credit is due. After visiting Yogurtland during my vacation in CA, I was disappointed to find that the only thing comparable to my experience there was Red Mango - which is nothing like it. SO, finally my wish has come true, and here opens Menchie's! 10-12 flavors of yogurt at one time, a plethora of toppings (fruits, candies, nuts, cakes, etc.), and enough syrups to keep you satisfied. I've enjoy all of the fruit sorbet flavors (YUMMMM), but if you're in a chocolate kind of mood, the german chocolate was delicious! I also hear a rumor that they have a red velvet flavored yogurt and I can't wait to try that one. There are enough combination of flavors to keep you interested for a LONG while. I do agree that they should have different size cups, but at least this is a start. I don't mind the price - it's a little more expensive than Yogurtland (30cents/ounce there, compared to 40cents/ounce here), but really, how much frozen yogurt are you going to be eating?? So I've been here a few times before, and it's always been kind of quiet. Probably because the weather has been so cold. But today happened to be the warmest day we've had in awhile, so of course everyone is going to hit up Menchie's. When I got there, there were only about 7 other people in there, kind of quiet. And the employees were standing behind the counter talking to each other. I asked for a waffle cone, and he said he would have to make a fresh one and that it would take a couple minutes, no big deal right? Well, of course he asked me if I wanted it dipped in chocolate, how could I resist? BUT-- he forgot to mention it would take 15 minutes for him to make it. (If I had known that, I wouldn't have gotten it..) ALSO, for about 5 minutes, both employees were in the back, leaving nobody at the register to help customers who ready to pay. & By the time I finally got my waffle cone, the place was packed with families just done with school activities & work. And of course, what little kiddo doesn't want a waffle cone? So you could imagine it got kind of crazy in there. I guess my point here is that they need to be more prepared for afternoon rushes. And maybe even hire a couple more people. Especially with the warm weather we've been getting. Also, I was very disappointed in the waffle come because it was soggy as soon as I got it, I was expecting it to be crunchy. I'm not saying it's the employee's fault, because I don't know what the guidelines are, but it is very poor management if you can't make extra waffle cones so there's not 15 kids running around for 20 minutes waiting for one. Snowed in, roads are icy (today ._. Which is February. [I ain't going to tell you what day!]), sick and no work! So makes for a perfect time for a frozen (Menchies) review and if your just like me, that thought it was ice cream as well. (Until somebody with class and just a nature of always being right and pointing things like a person that has llama excrement all over their face, told you it was "frozen yogurt you simpleton.") But we all make harmless mistakes! (So I forgive you!) But let's snowball into this review. :3 Atmosphere: I could say that Menchies is a very generic structure to all of its locations and if you've stepped inside one, you've literally seen every single one in the world. (._. Well if you've never stepped a day into the city streets [ever in your life] or Amish I guess you get a "free pass" card) So for that Amish family that's finally getting back to the real world and reading this from your Macintosh 650 with a nubus card I shall give you a setting for you! This location is quite small. Walking in you are presented with the cash register in the center of the building. A couple of tables next to the entrance. A small fridge for ice cream cake (or is it yogurt? *googles* nope fro-yo cakes. I know what I'm doing... *whispers: "Thanks Google.") Those cakes are perfect for fathers that have messed up too many times with their kids, so that'll buy him a couple of weeks to get their act together and for one lonely middle age guy. (that is actually married with kids but likes to have an excuse to eat a cake alone. ._.) In the back you are introduced to the fro-yo machines and their ever changing flavors. (Like a desperate 6 year old boy trying to impress a crush with the ever changing of different toys every day.) This location is surprisingly clean and to that I have to be amazed. (CUZ HOW DO YOU NOT HAVE YOGURT ALL OVER THE FLOOR??!?!._.) Customer Service: Well since Menchies is self serve there is very little customer service. But you get some of the best friendly greetings and transaction interactions. They're very courteous and have never had anything bad to say to them. Food: Well with its 77 flavor rotation through out the year I could say that I'm happily entertained every month of the year. (Kinda like my poodle does when he destroys a toy in mere hours and I'm too infatuated with how cute he is so I buy him a new toy. [I'm a slave to this dog ._. By choice... or is it!?!]) Once you have picked your flavors (aka had more than 100 samples while the staff shake their head at you and finally take the tray sample away.) Move the section where you can add candy and sprinkles. (Another AKA O.O pile up on your sugar while kids look at you with amazement and jealousy and for you to flaunt how having a job and adding more sweets to your container is all growing up is hyped up to be!! [Oooh is that recess yesss]) and lastly drizzle it down with either caramel, chocolate, marshmallow and peanut butter liquid. (I mostly like to reanact The World After Tomorrow scene where the city gets engulfed by the ocean. Over and over again so my container is the scene set of the island of Gilligans island.) The outcome is delicious and for what it's worth this location has never had complaints on how its fro-yo have tasted. :3 Conclusion: Friendly and warm customer service (like the camp counselor everyone loved back in the day. [Kids love him and moms approved!]), fairly and mostly clean environment (Which I'm almost amazed every time cuz I have dropped this fro-yo all over my clothes. ._.) And a very flavor flavor variety and delicious topping options. I shall come back to this fine establishment over and over again. So come on down! The fro-yo is great! (Side note I just learned that hipster kids were saying fro-yo not frozen yogurt. Hopefully I didn't say it much haha ._.) read more

I still think their frozen yogurt is good, but with so many other places to compete with, it seems like they don't have a great variety of flavors like they used to.
