Horrible at packing groceries. Who packs cartons of eggs with a watermelon?! I was asked if I wanted the watermelon in the bag and I said if it fits, sure, (assuming everything would go in one bag because I didn't buy much) but if not, that I didn't mind carrying it. Whenever I forget my reusable bags, I feel as though they always charge for extra, unnecessary paper bags because they only fill them halfway. And, as a consumer, it's quite irritating when they take initiative to double up on the bags without disclosing or asking first, charge for them, and when I go to lift the bags, they aren't heavy at all. They could have easily fit everything in one bag and I could have carried the watermelon and spent 10 cents instead of 30. read more

If I could leave zero stars I would. My daughter loves Trader Joe's because they give out stickers. Today we went to this store but they had no sticker or candy. I came in today by request of one of my clients that needed a Trader Joe's run for some crackers and blueberries. I was in and out quickly and swiftly! I'm a regular at this particular Trader Joe's because they usually have stock on eggs. Glendale Trader Joe's are always sold out. Why is this a big deal? A couple of weeks ago, Ralphs and Vons were selling a dozen eggs for $7. Trader Joe's is the cheapest of all the markets when it comes to eggs. Trader Joe's is selling their eggs for $2.99 and I'm eating at home more because I'm saving up for a Las Vegas vacation. read more

The store has everything you'd expect from a Trader Joe's, and the parking lot is as cramped and impossible as those at all other TJs. What sets this location apart is that it's the meeting place of all of the Karens in the universe. They're cutting you off with their BMWs in the parking lot, flipping their tennis hats/ponytails as they cut in line, talking loudly into their massive cell phones while handling all the produce. It's really quite a sight. It's not a great advertisement for La Canada. And frankly, I often drive farther to the TJs on Arroyo, where the people aren't so entitled and oblivious. read more

This Trader Joe's is smaller than the one in Montrose and Glendale, but has everything "TJ's" that your looking for... except: BASIL alot of times. Yup, the basil supply here runs out pretty quickly. I am told that there is a "pizza guy" in town that buys it all up when he runs low. Oh well (shrug). Anyhow, the best part about shopping at this location are: from the employees to the customers that shop here, people are very friendly and considerate... a small town kinda vibe. If you can, please shop at another Trader Joe's. Although the cashiers were very friendly and helpful, the front desk individuals near the entrance were very unwelcoming. They stared us down at the entrance and followed us everywhere we went. They even came to follow us outside to the plant area. We were the only Hispanic family at the store at that time and it definitely felt very intimidating being stared down. I hope those two individuals can improve their customer service skills as I've been to TJs and have never experienced such behavior or profiling. read more

Trader Joe's, what can I say about it? I am a long-time TJ fan/customer and have been to many locations throughout the many SoCal locations. I like this location since it is close-by to my gas (hydrogen) station and next to Ralphs. Additionally, this location seems fully-stocked, with lots of available parking, and, most importantly, well-maintained clean bathrooms. Some reviewers have complained about mistreatment about Covid-19, but I understand they are just doing their jobs. Maintain six feet social distance is a small ask not to get sick. Last night, I do recall I had to wait in line with six people in front of me and did not have to wait long. I will return again soon. read more

This review is for Josh Kendall, who is one of the store managers. I had been shopping here for years and had always been happy with the products and staff, until one day I encountered Josh Kendall. He was very rude and arrogant and talked to me with an attitude, as if he was in higher social class. Because he was so rude, I even asked him whether he had a bad day and reminded him I was a customer and he should be polite to me. When I asked to speak to a manager, he was even more arrogant and pointed to his name tag and told me "I am the manager!". I wonder what the hiring process is that allows such a rude person to become a manager and treat the customers so poorly. I've talked to other managers there and they are all very nice people. When you shop at this Trader Joe's, watch the staff's name tags and be careful when it says Josh Kendall. read more

After 21 Yelp check-ins and counting, I felt I finally owed it to my hometown Trader Joe's a review it so rightfully deserved...especially since one stipulation was that I reviewed ANYTHING where I had some kind of experience whether transactional or entertaining. To those (and I've found many) who felt a review for a "chain business" was beneath them, your apathy and disregard for the true usage and business model of Yelp dismayed me. With that being said, let the claws come out!: Bananas ($0.19 ea.) - Forever a swimmer, these were one of my staple grocery items that must be bought here. The size and shape were usually good. Sometimes I had to wrestle the older customers for the green ones that lasted longer. Stay away...those are mine! Milton's Whole Grain Plus Bread ($3.49) - A bit more pricey than most loaves, this particular one was generally lower in both calories and sodium for those who were watching either. The taste was great and the heartiness held you over throughout the day. Plus, I found this loaf to stay fresh longer so little to no spoilage. Wines...wines...wines ($35.44) - I found that this location carried a unique and varied selection of varietals from regions all over the world at some of the best prices compared to other grocery, liquor or specialty stores. Sure, they had a staple collection of wines but during each visit you're almost gauranteed to spot something new. Atmosphere, décor, ambience - Quaint, snug but familial may be the best descriptive words. The shopping carts and carriages were parked outside. Once inside, a small fruits and vegetable section to your right, refrigerated items along the right and back walls. A couple short aisles of canned and packaged goods in the center, the wine section in the left-hand corner, other alcohol and water along the left wall, and finally 4-5 checkout aisles with a customer services counter in the corner before you left. Plenty of natural and electric lighting that guided you. And since each store handled its own decorations and marketing, vibrant colored chalk messages scrawled on black boards and displays were found everywhere. I like how you can always get a parking spot at this Trader Joe's. Also, it isn't one of those cramped stores--the aisles are broad and the store never feels crowded so it is easy to navigate and you don't wait in line a long time. It is easy to get to (right off of Gould) and near a Starbucks! The staff are also friendly and helpful (as at all Trader Joe's). Finally, they have a picnic table near the flower area, in case you need/want to eat your lunch. read more

Friendly staff, parking is a bit tight, but there are always cars moving in and out. During the safer home order, TJ's did an awesome job in keeping crowds minimal inside and although there is a line outside that extends all the way to petco's it does go by pretty quick. Probably waited in line for 10 minutes vs 20 minutes at Ralphs. Best to avoid morning traffic when the line is longer. I like how employees provided you a card with wipes and antiseptic spray before going in. I am happy that they limit how much meat and eggs and recognizing that individual customer's shouldn't be allowed to unfairly empty the stores . Super impressed! read more

I'm always a fan of TJs- recently I was in La Canada (at HomeGoods!) and decided to look up a nearby Trader Joe's for some weekly provisions. Their parking lot is shared with other businesses, so you're bound to find a spot even if it's not superclose to the store- no biggie. They had an impressive display of orange pumpkins on hay bales out front, as well as the fun Cinderella-style ones in multiple colors. Inside they had all of the fun & novelty "everything pumpkin spice" seasonal offerings- I picked up some pumpkin ravioli, pumpkin muffin mix, and my usual grocery staples. This TJs is spacious and wasn't overly busy for a weekend afternoon and the standard friendly service- I wouldn't hesitate to swing by again when I'm in the area. read more

The staff here and I believe all the Trader Joe's are just amazing! I've yet to have an associate not willing to assist me in finding something in the store. Incidentally, I can often ask them if they tried a particular item and they'll give me their honest feedback. And if I buy something and it's not to my liking, I can bring in the packaging with my receipt and get store credit or an exchange for something else. But what I appreciate most, is that I can ask any associate for suggestions on creating a gift basket. They provide me suggestions based off what they see and have tasted. In short, like other Trader Joe's, this location has a great staff just like the other locations. read more

This review is inspired by crew member Cesar. His customer service is exemplary. Even though we have had minimal interactions in the past, he recognizes me and my wife (even wearing masks) and makes it a point to greet us. We don't go to the store that often either, kudos to his memory as well. In a time where society is keeping us distanced, I appreciate old school customer service and graciousness. I love Trader Joe's! They're my go-to grocery store. I get all my grocery staples here. See pictures for some of my kitchen staples & good deals. Some highlights for me: 1. Unique spices and seasonings! Everything but the bagel, onion salt, umami seasoning (this is new!) 2. Baby avocados - 6 for $2.99. Perfect size for one person/serving and amazing deal! 3. FREE SAMPLES 4. Life changing almond butter - I've tried many and this is by far the creamiest one. The oil often separates but this one doesn't at all. It's JUST almonds. 5. Great produce prices. 6. Great, health conscious lunch options. My current favorite is the lemon chicken and arugula salad. 7. Pre-made chicken!! Perfect to throw into salads or wraps. 8. Quinoa/lentil based pasta. Really great GF options! 9. Breakfast trek mix is easy to throw into your bag as a quick, filling snack. 10. Cauliflower gnocchi- amazing freezer meal option. 11. PLANTS - great deal and great variety. 12. I even love their skincare products like their lotions and cleansers! (This is a game-changer, making TJ a one-stop shop for all I need!) I want to live here. I honestly come here to just de-stress sometimes... I don't know why, walking through the aisles make me SO HAPPY! I love Trader Joe's! They have a great system set up to battle Covid-19. They limit the number of people in and out of the store. My favorite is how they hand you a clean cart as you walk in. No need to clean it yourself. The store itself is pretty small but they carry all I need. I love their banana chips (it's a purplish bag). I can literally eat a whole bag in one day. The employees are super friendly and willing to help. Everything is typically well stocked and the store is always neat/clean. Parking may suck sometimes since the parking lot is shared with other businesses like Starbucks and an urgent care. I really love their frozen section (their pot stickers + orange chicken are delicious). There are clear instructions throughout the store to ensure the safety of customers and employees. Make sure to read the instructions at the registers as well. Their flowers are also always beautiful here. read more

I was just at this store and bought a few items and one of the item was Red Seedless Grapes and once i was home my girlfriend noticed they were rotten and mushy, she said it should be a crime to sell fruit and produce like that. I live over in the city of Sunland, so by the time i drive back there and the gas i spend going back there is not worth it to return them. So in the trash they went The grapes cost me $3.69 The store should really make the drive over to my place and bring me another basket of grapes that are good in quality. The best thing i can think of is not to buy any produce from this place. This is not the first time this has happened to me, the last couple of times i just shrug it off, but i figure i should warn other people. The store is kept clean and the parking lot is fairly large. The store has a lot of great items... The person or people working in the produce section needs to check the stock more often or maybe they need to be re-trained for their job so this does not happen in the future. read more

This TJ's is my absolute lifeline for eating semi-healthy semi-prepared packaged meals and not all fast food crap like Jack-In-The-Box tacos and dollar chicken sandwiches. This TJ's blends in with all the others and I wouldn't recommend coming here between 5-6:30pm on weekdays unless you want to deal with minivan mom's grabbing last minute fix-its for their kids. My other recommendation would be to park as far away from the store as possible to avoid said distracted minivan mom drivers, carts, kids, and old geezers driving Cadillacs who have no idea of the turning radius of their huge cars. Just yesterday I stocked up on the essentials... BBQ Chicken Pizza (only $3 each), frozen chx breasts, frozen veggie packs, and some pre-made salads (most run about $3-$4 each) for lunch. And sadly yes, I'll probably be back to TJ's in a few days avoiding moms, kids, and Cadillacs to restock the shelves at the bachelor pad. read more

I like this TJs. They are very careful about the pandemic, cleaning every cart, making sure everyone is properly wearing a mask and offering hand spray if you want it. There is usually a line, but that's okay with me because the store isn't crowded when you get in, and you can move around without being nervous about distancing. The staff is friendly.
