Trader Jose in Pleasanton is loved on Santa Rita road near by Macy's furniture. There are free parking in front of the store . However , it is usually full and you need to Park a little farther away then walk . They have a new items section that I found very helpful. All the new items are displayed on one tall shelf and it is better than reading the newsletters and look for them in different locations of the store . They sell their sturdy trustable shopping bag for 99 cent . It is large , well made and with pretty graphic designs. I hate to pay to get a paper bag then it torn out after one use or in the middle of walking to my car ! Trader has top quality of Angus beef ( rib eye , sirloin) , organic chicken , salmon and other seafood. It has a huge fresh fruits and vegetables section .Healthy bakery and snacks . It has healthy ingredients and the prices are lower than Whole food . Many products are imported from Europe. It is clean , organized, carry all the food and non food items for daily use . Excellent service and friendly staffs . What else can you ask for ? I vote this as my number one choice of grocery store.

Canvas mini tote bags......lining up at 5:30AM.

A 10+ I do 90% of my shopping there. The other 10% other local markets. Friendly staff, great prices and oh yeah the occasional canvas mini tote bag frenzy.

Shout out to Majid! I have chatted with him about TJ products and have also gone through his line a couple of time. I know customers want to just get in and out of the store but I actually enjoy chatting with the cashiers. So Sunday morning, I intentionally went to his line and we chatted about big department store closures. It makes the early Sunday morning shopping a little more enjoyable. Side note - Belgian waffles with pearl sugar is available now! Also I feel like the parking isn't so bad as other Yelpers have mentioned.

Plenty of parking available. Huge and spacious store with shelves that are well stocked throughout. The staff here are super friendly as always. Had a wonderful experience shopping here.

05/16/2026. Be careful when buying food here. The orange juice was spoiled and smelled and tastes very bad, and the cucumber was yellow inside and tasted terrible. I wasted my time, energy and money buying spoiled food and got stomach now. Food quality and freshness need serious improvement.

Parking lot is a bit scary - lots of crazies. Lol

11:45 AM: I was happy to do my shopping at this location, and I stepped into the store ready to grab my veggies, only to be met with the most infuriating sight. As I reached for the organic baby spinach, a staff member completely blocked my access without a care in the world. I politely asked for a bag since she was literally putting them up on the shelves, but she flat-out refused, continuing to stock the shelves right in front of me. She rudely said, "No, grab it yourself!" It was beyond belief how rude and disrespectful she was being. Her name is Betty, and she is an absolute nightmare to deal with. Manager Ramirez, you seriously need to train your staff on how to treat customers with respect and decency.

This location for Trader Joe's looks pretty new, and there seems to be plenty of parking. The staff workers are friendly and nice. They were restocking the shelves but were patient not to impede your shopping experience.

Ask the Community - Trader Joe's

How much is a pac. of fresh basil? How much is a pound of fresh strawberries?

Mind you, we are in the off season so no one can predict quality issues or it being in stock..but probably a pack of basil will be around $2 for a small package and pound of strawberries should be around $4.

I came to this Trader Joe's today but it looks like they're closed permanently. Are your store…

Yes, 3903 Santa Rita Rd. Just a block away!

Today however, solidified my never using this store again. No shopping carts anywhere near the door, not the biggest deal as I only needed a handful of items, but left wondering if they expected customers to scour the parking lots to find one? Inside the store no hand baskets anywhere to be seen, walked down each checkout stand and no baskets there either..!! Walked up to the manager station and saw who appeared to be a manager, she was having an open heated discussion with another employee, never even looked up towards myself or the elderly man in front of me standing in front of the counter. I walked through the store to grab my items in my arms and get out of there. Stopped at the Ice cream aisle And Dryers ice cream was $8 & change which is significantly more than what Safeway is typically selling it for! Skipped that, found small packets of pickles on the end cap, grabbed one, and went to the checkout. I asked the checkout woman, who can only be described as "sullen", where the hand baskets were, she tersely replied "we don't have any".. Then came the pickles, they wouldn't ring up, she hollered at a woman in the self checkout asking about the price, she hadn't even seen them before. My checker asked her to go look up the price, had to ask 4 times, had to describe how to go look up the price. Woman comes back, says there's no price on the display, ( which is already what I said) and she says "just charge $2.. (I'm not even sure that tiny packet is worth $2, but I just want out of there by now.).!! Checker barely looks up at me, as she slides my stuff down the counter, gives a 1/2 hearted "thanks".. So much more letdowns, more employees than customers, not one of them made eye contact, most were milling around looking like they were trying to find something to do.. (Which wasn't asking any customers if they needed help).!! I was relieved to be driving away, drove to San Ramon Safeway and bought all of the other stuff I needed, Dreyers Ice cream was $2 cheaper, I was so much happier at Safeway that I spent $120.00 there.!!

Said I could speak to a supervisor at the customer service counter. Nobody there with a sign saying Customer Service was closed. Not even a suggestion of where to get help? Asked the closest cashier for advice about what to do. She was actually friendly but didn't know, referred me to a crabby career cashier who had no interest in assisting. Said there should be someone coming later today I could talk to. (not helpful) Said they were doing price changes so shelf tags might be wrong. Where is Weights and Measures when you need them!?! This Walmart is a prime location to rack up some fines. Unfortunately it seems that when trying to save money, management cuts payroll first, causing customer service to go down the toilet.

I was shocked to spend $11 on just a 20oz bottle of Pepsi and a bag of potato chips -- $7 for chips and $4 for a soda is completely unreasonable, even for "organic" products. I shop at places like Whole Foods regularly, and even they don't charge those kinds of prices. When I asked the cashier to clarify, the response felt dismissive, as if I should just accept the markup without question. To make matters worse, as I browsed the store, I noticed several items that were past their expiration dates. If you're going to charge premium prices, the very least I expect is for the food to be fresh and safe to eat. That's just basic quality control. Unfortunately, between the inflated prices and expired goods, I can't recommend this store. I love supporting neighborhood spots, but this one left a bad impression -- both in service and value.

Instead of feeling relaxed and enjoying the shopping experience, I often feel like I'm competing with people who are rushing around trying to grab items for online orders. I really think Whole Foods should consider having a separate area in the back for employees who are picking and packing delivery and online orders, rather than having them do it alongside regular customers. The store should feel like a place where customers can comfortably shop, not like a warehouse where everyone is rushing to grab products. I hope Whole Foods will take this feedback seriously and find a better way to balance online fulfillment with the in-store shopping experience.
