Workers were helpful and courteous, I like coming to the small stores like this most of their items are a healthier choice than traditional supermarkets, of course, TJ doesn't have everything so at times I find myself running to a couple different stores to get what I need. Very nice grocery store, large clean isles and a verity of products. Customer service: The only real interaction I had was with the lady at check out, which was brief and she was genuinely friendly. This Trader Joe's was probably the most relaxing one I've been to in years. It's just a nice location and the atmosphere was more low-key. The parking lot was no stress, even though there were a few spaces definitely better than many other Trader Joe's. Lots where it's just chaotic service was good and I found some of the things I was looking for. I did look at some fruits and vegetables and they wanted to buy, but I could see that they were already going bad and decided not to buy them and I needed them so I had to go somewhere else to get them. read more

The good: This is a really nice Trader Joes with an ocean view. The plaza is big and there's plenty of parking. I love their affordable flowers and cute greeting cards. I am always interested in the new products they have. I love that they carry food from various international cuisines. Their whole milk yogurts are also delicious. The frozen food section is superb. They have great options in smaller sizes so you can try a lot of different things without fully committing to a large quantity in case you don't like it (but that's rare with TJ products). The bad: The worker didn't give my toddler stickers when we came. Perhaps, he forgot. The interesting: I saw a basket of lollipops behind the counter too. I am not sure if they hand it out to kids? I've been here a few times and never had any offered to my kids but I did notice they have a basket. I am not sure when they stopped wearing Hawaiian button-down shirts and switched to t-shirts with a Hawaiian flower. read more

10/5/24 Feels like AUTUMN here, unlike Montclair where it was a whopping 95 degrees today! I love visiting this TJ location, staff are always friendly & helpful, fresh produce & seasonal items are featured. It could get pretty hectic (customers & parking) but we always manage to score a spot. I saw some cute looking Halloween & autumn decor. Gourds were for 0.89, got a few for a project I am planning on tackling (courtesy of craft ideas from Roger's Gardens- will post those if I am successful). Got some dark chocolate sunflower cups, these are super yummy btw. Once it starts to cool down, will bake corn bread from the mix I just purchased. I was not looking for those pink and lavender mini totes. I was actually looking for the Valentine frozen heart macarons and my local Trader Joe's were all sold out for the season I called first before driving up the hill and was told there were tons left. I head over and omg there are also tons of the mini totes in a bin. No crazy line of people standing outside waiting for these totes. So I grabbed 6 boxes of macarons and four bags This is a smaller Trader Joe's at the end of Hawthorne Blvd. It's clean and not crowded which is such a nice change from what I'm used to. I think I've been to every Trader Joe's in a 30 mile radius... and that's not a bad thing. One of the classic grocery spots on the hill. Always a good place to pick up interesting snacks, quick frozen meals, and plenty of good bread. They've got a good mix of everything, and it's all held to the standard of the TJ label. This is a wonderful Trader Joes that is nearly spotless. It has one of the widest selections of products I have seen. They offer Trader Joes coffee (in the freezer section near the La Colombe) which I haven't been able to find anywhere else. The store is very clean and not crowded at all, and they also have a lot of flowers, since we visited around Mother's Day. As always, the prices are pretty reasonable and the workers are super friendly. I give them bonus points, too, because it is so close to the beach. Perfect if you are (like I was) sitting at the nearby Starbucks and wanted a snack! Amazing location, great store, lot of goods to pick from, and nice staff! read more

This Trader Joe's is in one of the safest, best view, and most expensive real estate locations in Southern California. It's in the COVE shopping center that has a Starcrooks and Subwaste that overlooks the Pacific Ocean from high up on a cliff. You won't find a TJ in a better location anywhere. But how they get all this food up that hill from the city I have no idea. Easy large parking lot, friendly employees, and a very well healed customers base. You may feel a bit intimidated driving up here without a luxury automobile, but the folks in Trader Joe's will not ask you about it, so don't worry. Just be ready at checkout to say something like, "Meeting friend's at Trump's (his golf course near by) for dinner later, just picking up some stuff here for the "help," "my Rover is get a tune today," and you'll be fine. read more

I go to Trader Joe's for price and selection. Value is good. Many times, prices for similar items are lower than Ralphs or Vons. It helps if you remember prices of what you buy often. There are not many items from national brands but many are Trader Joe's brand. Item quantities are relatively small so this is the opposite of Costco. Employees are easy to find and always helpful and cheerful. Useful since I don't always remember where items are. Ambiance is upbeat. Decor is laid back and tropical. I especially like the fresh flowers and plants. Greeting cards are low priced and fun. read more

I've been to several TJ's from LA county to Inland Empire, San Diego & also Central Coast (Ventura/Santa Barbara) this one for being in LA county is by far the finest TJ's as they are fully stocked, employees are always polite, helpful & friendly and well the little tiny fact it's in a immaculate location off the PV penisula facing the awesome views of the ocean. They have a great selection, people are friendly, clean restrooms. What a gem of a neighborhood market ! Especially during this time of "Stay at Home" orders and limited shopping outings, Trader Joe's has been a blessing ! They keep well stocked, including fresh produce, meats, cheeses, nuts, snack foods, pantry staples, dairy products, bread and bakery items, frozen entrees, vegs, seafood, desserts, large variety of beer and wines, and while supplies last even paper goods and cleaning supplies. Joe's has it all figured out to help all of us get what we need while " social distancing" for safety: Entrance line marked to give folks space, wipes at the entry, only 4- 5 shoppers at a time in the store, spaced out registers, and very helpful limit of 2 per item to prevent hoarding that hurts us all ! It is not safe to shop here. As a brave patriot exposed this past week showed, carbon dioxide is a clear and present danger to everyone that is forced by the (gherstaple?) to partially cover their mouth in order to prevent the spread of disease to other shoppers and employees. We all have our local grocery stores. They're close and they're just easy to get to, so we go there all the time... In some cases they're not that great, we just go to them because they are close. This is never the case with a local Trader Joe's. I have always been a fan of Trader Joe's. They have unique items, a GREAT wine selection, and the staff at the various stores are always friendly, helpful, and nice. The store in Redondo has been around forever and I used to go there all the time. When I moved up to the hill a little over ten years ago I used to have to make the drive to the Trader Joe's in Redondo or hit the one on PCH in Torrance. The problem with that one is the parking lot is always a mess. So, when this one opened a couple of years ago that was a great addition to the community! This Trader Joe's has all the items you have come to expect from the store and, as is the case with the other Trader Joe's, the staff are always great. Recommended !!! read more

I love this Trader Joe's. The store is always clean and well stocked and the crew is invariably nice and extremely helpful. The only negative is some of the customers. Like people that buy perfectly good tubs of chocolate then leave it on their counter in the sun so that they get melted into a disgusting blob. Then then want to return it and get a refund as though it's Trader Joe's fault and then have the nerve to complain about it. It makes you wonder at what point did people loose their moral compass! People need to take responsibility for their own stupidly and not blame others and expect the rest of us to pick up the bill. We all end up paying for people's abuse of stores return policies! I like this Trader Joe's because it's so close to home. Like all the other Trader Joe's their parking is always busy and crowded. I know they frequently stock the shelves because I see their staff doing it and I haven't run into any expired food items so far. They have a great wine selection that is reasonably priced and, most importantly, organized. They sell a great-tasting peach Bellini and a killer chocolate chip cookie ice cream sandwich. Obviously the rest of the neighborhood shop here, too, because it's just as crowded inside as it is outside. The employees are always nice and friendly, but oftentimes the wait in line is long because some customers do all of their grocery shopping here. read more

I really like this Trader Joe's! I'm equidistant from two different stores, and I always gravitate to this one. First, the view helps, nothing like driving along the ocean to get to the store, it puts me in a Zen state of mind. Second, the staff is always great, and the store is really clean and well stocked. The store format here is a little smaller, but they have everything you could want, plus there is generally plenty of parking, AND, they have a Starbucks about 100 yards away. My kids also love finding their hidden store mascot, the hermit crab. Bravo to this location. read more

Bad and disappointing customer service. I came in to purchase 6 bottles of wine and the classy casher who tabs me up was in a hurry to go to her break. Didn't package my items correctly and expected me to carry my bottles in one plastic bag which very unsafe. You should train your people how to work properly with customers. Shame on you!
