This isn't the closest Trader Joes to me but it is only 15 minutes away and there is a lot in that shopping center that I enjoy so its worth the trip. I went here and somehow got lucky and got the brand new stripe totes that everyone was raving over. They seemed to be pacing bringing them out throughout the day so it made it less chaotic. This store is always really clean and spacious so it doesn't feel overly crowded going up and down the aisles like some of the other stores are like. Parking here is also pretty easy with a large outdoor parking lot as well as a parking structure just across the way incase it is crazy busy. Overall I am a Trader Joes lover so this store is one of my top locations to go to in my area. read more

I've been shopping at the Trader Joe's in The Village at Pacific Highland Ranch for years and it's one of my favorite locations. The fresh produce section is always excellent with tons of fruits and veggies in great condition. They also have a really large selection of organic produce. The staff is always friendly and helpful. If something is missing from the shelf, they're happy to check the back for you right away. The store is clean, well stocked, and has that classic Trader Joe's feel with good prices. This is still my favorite Trader Joe's in San Diego! It's conveniently close to home, has plenty of parking, is less crowded than other locations, and is near my gym and nail salon--basically, it's my weekly go-to. That said, I'm heartbroken over the discontinuation of some of my favorite items: eggplant hummus, freeze-dried rambutan, cauliflower rice, high-protein veggie burger, smoky BBQ coconut aminos, island salsa, brown rice avocado roll, vegan jackfruit cakes, Cuban-style black beans, coconut cashews, mixed nut butter, and several hummus dips. As a vegan, I love the variety TJ's offers, but it's disappointing how quickly some favorites disappear, even when they seem super popular. Current favorites include freeze-dried mangosteen (and all the other varieties), affordable greens and slaws, refrigerated Salsa Especial, organic juice shots, stevia drops with no weird aftertaste, frozen acai and fruits, dried fruits, affordable nuts, seeds, grains, and canned goods. Seasonal items always get me excited, too--fall is pumpkin season, and I'll splurge on anything pumpkin-related (yes, even the scented body butters and candles). Lastly, I have to shout out the employees and customer service here. They're always friendly and genuinely happy, which makes shopping such a joy. It's one of the main reasons I keep coming back. This is my first visit to the Pacific Highlands Ranch Trader Joe's. I checked the ice cream aisle to see what the choices were. I was happy to see Root Beer Float Bars. I'd never seen them before. I bought a box to try. This treat is like a 50 50 bar. The outside consists of frozen root beer while the inside is creamy vanilla ice cream. The frozen root beer had a delicious root beer flavor which went well with the sweet vanilla ice cream. Vons has a version which is good but the root beer Trader Joe uses has a bolder flavor. Aldi sometimes in the summer has Barq's root beer float treats but I was unable to find them this year. Trader Joe's has my fav Root Beer Float Bars. Store was clean, well stocked, and had a good selection. Employees were nice. Great shopping experience. read more

Here for the snacks but contemplating flowers too...While you may not find every grocery item you need, you will find some you didn't even have on your list. The snack section and the flower department are on point. My favorite snacks include the Giant Purivian Inca Corn (which is like a corn nut but bigger and not as hard), chocolate covered pretzels (keep them in the freezer and thank me later), and the Rutland Red Leicester Cheese (which is only available in the fall and I wish it was year-round). I actually have several other staple items that I pick up there from dried fruit to dried gnocchi, I usually pick something up from every aisle. The floral department always has a nice plant when you need a quick gift, and flowers that you can mix and match when you want to feel like a florist and make your own creation or premixed bouquets that you can just plop in a vase. The floral prices are always a good deal, just like most of their food pricing. Did you know that Trader Joe's employees rotate jobs around the store? I think that is why they always know where everything is. From what I hear, they treat their employees well with retirement plans even for the part timers. Parking... I have never been to a Trader Joe's that seemed to have enough parking, but you know what? It is worth all of the circling and circling and waiting for a spot. read more

Shrinkflation has impacted some of my favorites at Trader Joe's. The downsizing of their mineral water was the first. Now the most recently purchased box of organic Mini Peanut Butter sandwiche crackers has just the smallest dab of peanut butter. It's been ruined. You can't taste the peanut butter. I'm feeling disappointed. I'd rather have a price increase rather than have an unacceptable tasting cracker. read more

Something is wrong with their equipment. There is a high-pitched continuous. SQUEEEEEE! blaring throughout their produce and refrigerated sections. Something is wrong with a compressor. I cannot believe people shop here and tolerate this.. I mentioned it to two different employees, and both of them said that it annoys them like crazy. One of them has nightmares about it, but it is less audible by the registers and in the dry goods area. I've decided I will never shop here again, just based on that sound. I was in there less than 10 minutes and felt assaulted by the noise. I will never subject myself to that again. It's a shame that the managers haven't done anything to this noise. read more

You don't know how much something means to you until it's gone. Many moons ago, I moved outside of California, and it was a good lesson in absence makes the heart grow ticked off. You leave the Republic of California, and all of sudden there's a vacuum of three fundamental human rights: good Mexican food (outside of Mexico), In-N-Out, and Trader Joe's. Now, of course, I never take my local Trader Joe's for granted. It's harder to do so when this specific store is centrally located with accessible and plentiful parking, shelved with constantly stocked items, and serviced with friendly and helpful managers and clerks. My Peruvian Inca Corn anecdote is telling. Wife's favorite snacks are these steroid-sized addictive corn nuts that are in-store label. Lo and behold, these normally well-stocked crack snacks were nowhere to be seen. I asked the friendly, Hawaiian shirt-attired manager, and she immediately ordered some through her supply chain. In a couple days, cold sweats from Inca Corn withdrawal were avoided in a nick of time. There isn't a visit that I pine with longing hope that I'd find the infamous unicorn item: the Nduja Spicy Salami Spread. It made it's first appearance in the smoked meats aisle in 2015, never to be seen again. Today, it's fallen in the hallowed halls of Trader Joe's legend as an urban myth. Sometime, Trader Joe's, you can be too cruel. Maybe I'll take my business elsewhere. read more

The store is well stocked and checking out is a breeze. The only advice that I have is to avoid the store when the nearby school lets out in the afternoon, as the students tend to crowd the store. read more

Trader Joes has been my "outing" since COVID. No really...truth. During this pandemic...I feel most comfortable with TJ's and the way they are handling things. -The line to enter has clear markings where everyone should be standing. -I see them cleaning each cart as they are returned -there is an employee standing at the door to control foot traffic. -In the earlier days, they even controlled foot traffic inside (if an aisle was too crowded they asked us to go a different route and go to that aisle last. -they keep a smile on their face even with some grumpy customers. -they are restocking constantly -checkout line also has clear markings I feel comfortable going here... During the pandemic there would frequently be a long line to get in the store on the weekends due to capacity constraints - thankfully those days are gone! The flowers here are consistently very fresh and fairly inexpensive. The store is usually well stocked, except sometimes certain produce items run low. This is the only grocery store in the immediate area and worth a stop. read more

My go-to spot for local groceries. I always love the environment here and I'm OBSESSED with the TJ's frozen food. My favorite TJ branded items here include: oat milk, organic fruits, garlic naan, chicken tikka masala, elote chip dippers with guac, and MUCH more... the list could go on and on. I also love buying the small plants here that have the cutest pots. The staff and cashiers are so friendly and helpful. Trader Joe's is my safe place and a snack haven. I'm a huge fan of Trader Joe's and go for weekly groceries so I really hate to leave this review but I have to. I was in the store earlier and since it being a new store to me I needed help locating the blueberries and I kindly found an associate by the name of "Connor" he literally made an audible "ugh" and pointed in some random direction. This all happened without him even looking up from what he was doing. I felt so disrespected I had to report him and lo and behold he is a MANAGER. I was very please with this Trader Joe's with their quality fair priced products and super friendly service. I picked a number of items such as avocados, pistachios, organic round tortilla chips, and fingerling potatoes, not to mention an inexpensive bottle of Malbec. I was happy that they offer pistachios that have 50% less salt, and that they offered a lot of good quality Hass avocados for a reasonable price. I usually get netted bags with four avocados. The registers were busy but they quickly open new lanes to allow purchased to be completed more quickly. The lady at the register was quite friendly and chatty, but in a good way. read more

I love Trader Joe's. This one is no exception. They have wine sampling along the far right side of the wall. If you plan to go in this area, you will need to be of age. The section for sampling food or nonalcoholic drinks aka the tasting area is in the back left corner of the store. This location has room with wider aisles and is well stocked. Love Trader Joe's! Their staff is always friendly, they carry quality products at a fair price, and their stores are always clean. This location is right off the Ted Williams Highway in the Pacific Highland Ranch shopping center. There is plenty of parking, so you shouldn't have any problem. With every Trader Joe's trip we always check out the fresh reasonably priced flowers, fresh produce, free samples bar, and beer/wine selection. Our staples here include: bananas, seasonal produce, frozen fruits, almond butter, spices, dried fruit, plantain chips, and beer/wine. love that they have mini carts for kids, my son enjoys being able to push our cart around for us while shopping. read more

I have gone here a few times to pick up a little something for my snacking urges (when not sick) and usually go in and out of the store pretty quickly. Floral arrangements are on your left when you walk in, cashiers on your right. Walking straight along the floral arrangements - you'll eventually emerge into the veggie, fruit, and juice areas. Plus there is a sample area in the back. Towards the back of the store will be the milk area. Within the aisles, there's frozen food, kitchen or bathroom necessities, animal food, snacks, and a wine section. Staff's been nice every time I check out. Never had a problem. Parking lot is a bit cramped - but if you go on a non-rush hour day, it's not too bad. read more
