I love this trader joes. Big, lots of options, fresh veggies and fruits and dinner ideas. I like that there is always someone that is willing to help when you have questions. It doesn't take long to check out, even if you have a cart load of stuff. All the cashiers are friendly and always try and have a nice conversation with you while they are checking out instead of the awkward small talk at other grocery stores. They always have a good variety of fresh flowers when you walk in the door too! read more

Beware and lack of courtesy! Been going to Trader Joe's for years. Been getting sick with severe stomach problems on many of there foods and had to throw out much for the last year. This Monday 3/27/17 bought over $200 in food. Fresh for can not eat free frozen food anymore. There frozen food has been making me sick. Especially the frozen chicken. There must be something in the chicken that is making me sick. On the fresh food bought Monday, got severe stomach problems. Right now can not eat any food. Called re return of fresh food today. Talked to man that was very rude and said yes and can return, and cut me off re asking another question. Returned food later about 5 pm. and lady very rude. Insisted on name of person, said ok will do this time and can only give credit. Very rude! Said was it the food. Said do not know. But got severe sick on Tuesday on eating food. read more

The worse customer service and return policy I ever know. I usually shop here and spend hundreds of dollars for personal and business stuff every month, many times we bought products here and didn't like it, we don't even bother to return since we have no time and uncovinient. Today we found out the products we bought is expired and was not open yet, so I do my regular monthly shopping and though I could try it out, the guy at the return area shaked his head and say " sorry, you can't return this one if you don't have the receipt", well, it had the logo "TJ" on the products so why could not exchange it for the same bottle which is not expired? Horrible the way they handle, so I left store and let them keep their expired products and don't even spend any more here, even a penny! read more

I scanned through the reviews of this Trader Joe's location and chuckle at the comment on "chaotic parking" and the fact that there are two $$ signs for this grocery store! Like anything, it's relative to your experience. Coming from a girl who shopped at the West LA's Pico Blvd. location and with the utmost respect, "Girl, buckle your seat belt!!!" If you think the Thousand Oaks' TJs has chaotic parking, then Pico is a war zone. A swirling mess of bumper carts and short tempers. It's like people are stocking up for Armageddon at the West LA Trader Joe's every day. And $$??? So that would make Ralphs $$$. So on that level, I do love this location. In my experience, there is always parking in this medium-sized lot. What makes it sometimes frustrating are the drivers in the Conejo Valley who are either old or just slow. (Ya know, you can start to turn your steering wheel before your entire car is out of the white lines. This is not a 3 point turn test.) The aisles are wide, the shelves are stocked, the employees here are quite pleasant and nice. The wine guy with the crazy hat recommended some tasty wines. The really tall dark-haired guy always makes pleasant conversation and told me about some new stuff they got in. And the checkers in general look you in the eye and ask how you are doing like they really mean it. As I type this review, I have the new Sicilian pizza in my oven. This one is fancy, I had to drizzle some olive oil midway through baking. How I heart Trader Joes, especially this one. Now for those of you who walk in Trader Joes and turn right back around complaining about how small it is and how you can't find your name brand product, allow me to explain the Trader Joe's mystique. Trader Joes is like the swap meet of grocery stores. Every visit, I browse the aisle, not just shop, but browse, looking for new product, something new to try, a new bargain. Beware! My mom had her wallet stolen out of her purse here this week. When she went to the DMV to replace her license, the clerk said "let me guess you were at Trader Joe's on Arboles. You are probably the 20th person in the last two weeks with the same story. " when we told Trader Joe's manager this he said he had never heard of anyone having anything stolen and brushed us off. They do not have cameras and were disappointingly blasé about the whole thing. read more

At all Trader Joes locations, every single staff member is great. But I like this location better than the Westlake one. It's nice to get away from those raging westlake moms that will run you over with cars and/or carts. The store layout is less congested and they have wine tasting from 2-7. The people who work there are awesome. Now I agree with Catherine - West LA's parking is terrible, but that's to be expected of LA. However, the parking situation for Thousand Oaks standard is really, really bad. Getting in and out is incredibly awkward. I LOVE coming here. First, I never make a trip without going to the back and getting a sample of whatever they are making. I've made a few of the dishes and have never been disappointed. They have great prepackaged sandwiches and meals. Lots of food to choose from appetizers, lunch, dinner, snacks, coffee, etc. They have a great deal on kale, it's pre-chopped and pre-packaged. We get it for our guinea pig. Less expensive that other markets and ready to go. The staff is ALWAYS super friendly and helpful when you need something. It definitely seems like a fun place to work. read more

We do almost all of our grocery shopping here and now I never want to go to a "regular" grocery store. I love 90% of the things that we've tried- not going to lie, some of the pre made/frozen food hasn't been great, but overall, way more good things than bad ones. Prices are great too, and for the few things that cost more to buy at TJs, I feel ok spending the money and supporting the company. Other reviewers complain about the cashiers being slow but I have never waited more than a few minutes, and the everyone who works there is really friendly and helpful! read more

I love my local Trader Joe's! It helps that I can easily walk to this location but everyone is so friendly and helpful here. Cashiers always talk to you and are nice and cheerful while you check out. If I ever have a question an employee will always help me find what I'm looking for. This is a super place - lots to love and very handy place to shop. This location does not have the same local charm as others as it was a supermarket that had closed down - somehow Trader Joes can turn bad locations into gold mines with their draw!!! Prices are always good and quality plus service great. Wine cheaper than Costco. We like the cheeses and the Basile plants. The fresh live Basel Plants are a delight - brighten up your kitchen, porch and pallet. There are lots of new things all the time. Enjoy !!! read more

Neat place. Wish they were bigger and had a few more choices so I could get more things from them. Staff at every store I've been to...has been awesome! They're always friendly, helpful, have good humor, and make you seem like family when you're there. I've even had a couple different employee's go on my entire shopping trip with me to find everything on the list I had when I was new to the area and the store...now that's service, and is very hard to find. Parking is sometimes rough, but I suppose that's due to their popularity, lol, true, and or locations, when/if they have to share the lot with other businesses. The other downfall, which I was warned about by friends and employee's, is that when you finally find something you love, Trader Joe's discontinues it, and I've run into that already with my favorite tea, their own brand, called Renew. read more

Friendly staff. Prices for essentials such as eggs, milk, bread etc. are great. However, i purchased chicken twice last month and both times I had to return to the store because it smelled disgusting. The staff was happy to exchange it for my both times but that's it. Well I only make a complaint or write a negative review if a situation escalated to an "unacceptable level". The Store Manager and Area Supervisor really need to do something about some of its employees. They are just plain rude and not tentative at all! Some employees act like they do not want to be there, and they treat customers like if they were talking to "their buddies". This is unacceptable! Something about the location in Thousand Oaks? Who knows? This Trader Joe's continues to be unacceptable becuase of the behavior of some of its employees! Other TJs are excellent, but this one is the one to avoid. Oh, Trader Joes on Arboles, how I love you. From the minute the blasting AC hits you as you enter the automatic doors, to checkout, to enjoying your groceries at home, the entire TJ's experience at this particular location is not to be missed. The staff at this location is phenomenal. In the aisles, they are always there to assist you with whatever you need to find. They are very knowledgeable and will even go into the back if a certain item isn't in the shelf. At the samples station, the recipes are fresh and exciting. Be sure to try the juice sample and get your free coffee! And at the checkout, the cashiers are always engaging and friendly. They will discuss their favorite products, give you recipe suggestions with your items, and engage in good old fashioned small-town conversation. I love the small town vibes of Trader Joes TO. I must be getting old because I'm starting to really dig this company. Reasonably healthy foods at decent prices! They also have coffee samples brewed & ready to amp up your shopping trip. I usually down one at the start to make the visit more productive. Vroooom! This location can be a bit of a challenge, though. The parking lot is obnoxious; connected to a gas station & strip mall with L.A.-like entrances that front high speed main streets. The entrances are highly sloped to please 4x4 owners who wish to catch air entering the joint... but prove obstacles to the general public. Everyone who turns in must come to a complete stop, often backing up traffic. Once in the lot, parking is hit or miss. Try to avoid driving past the front door because there will usually be a stream of super slow pedestrians who walk slower than tortugas. read more
