Recently did the five epic park tours. It was well planned and organized . The tour guide Dave did a great job with his driver Roland . The tour has a fare amount of bus time due to park distances . But Dave and Roland kept us entertained and informed . I feel lucky to have gone on a beautiful trip. read more

"Tonight the western stars are shining bright again" (Bruce Springsteen) We just returned from Trafalgar's ten-day "Western Frontiers" tour. We flew into Las Vegas and met our tour director and tour group for a Welcome Dinner, boarded a bus in the morning and took off for Zion National Park, Bryce Canyon and Salt Lake City. Next, we headed north into Idaho and Jackson, Grand Teton National Park, Yellowstone National Park, Montana's Big Sky Country, South Dakota's Black Hills and Crazy Horse Memorial, and wrapped things up with Mount Rushmore and the South Dakota Badlands before the tour ended in Denver. Our hotels were the Horseshoe Las Vegas, Best Western Bryce Canyon, Sheraton Salt Lake City, Mountain Modern Motel (Jackson), Kelly Inn West Yellowstone, Doubletree Billings, and the Rushmore Hotel. The tour included 9 Breakfasts, 1 Lunch, and 4 Dinners, and we signed up for a few of the tour's optional activities and meals with entertainment. Our tour kicked off with the group assembling at the Horseshoe Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas for a welcome party, a night on the town, breakfast, and a morning bus to Salt Lake City for Day #2. Day 2 included Zion and Bryce National Parks and an optional dinner with a country and western show. It was a lot of fun. On Day 3 we returned to Bryce for an early morning hike around the Sunrise to Sundown Trail, more or less parallelling the deep canyons and exposing us to some of the most beautiful scenery I've ever witnessed. Later that day, we drove North to Salt Lake City for a tour of the Mormon Tabernacle complex. Day 4 brought us to beautiful Jackson, Wyoming for a half day of dining, shopping, and sightseeing. On Day 5 we awoke to snow and visited Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks. On Day 6 we spent a second day at Yellowstone and were awed by its amazing scenery. On Day 7 we headed to Billings, Montana and the Buffalo Bill Center of the West Museum. We had a Western dinner Be My Guest experience with a local chef. The rest of the tour was loaded with great attractions - the Crazy Horse Memorial, shopping in Wall, SD, Mount Rushmore, the Black Hills, and Badlands National Park. HB was our driver, and our vehicle was a brand new 2025 Prevost H3-45. It was red in color and nicknamed Scarlett! Our tour director was John Rammelkamp and he did an admirable job managing our group of 44. It was an international group, with tourists from the Philippines, New Zealand, Australia, and the Netherlands joining the many Americans. He taught us a new word- "Tourons" meaning a tourist acting like a moron, for example parking his car in a parking lot bus lane. He set up a WhatsApp for the group and shared each day's itinerary and time schedule with us. He played music and showed videos on the bus to break up some of the longer legs of the tour. He was fantastic. Our tour ended with a group dinner and a MAKE TRAVEL MATTER® Experience with Lakota Tribe Member Stephen Yellowhawk. So far I have not been on my trip yet and already there are issues. We had called in August and set up everything on the phone with my friend sitting right next to me. We had planned on going a day early and had thought that they had gotten the hotel for us but evidently not and because we're going in a day early we have to pay for transfers. I think the hotel we are going to be staying at in Rome is booked up so I don't know that we're going to even get in. Then when we're flying back they told us we do not get the transfers because we're flying early but they booked the flights so why do we not get the transfers. if it's same day travel coming and going, I should get the transfer and this is just the beginning! read more

I have been on two Trafalgar tours - one to Italy and one to Costa Rica. Both very different and both fantastic. When I travel, I like to really feel like I have indulged in the local culture... I don't want to just dip my toe in an area and go to the beach. Trafalgar allows you to connect with locals and really feel like you learn about local customs, traditions, and foods. Italy was July/23, and I travelled with my 70 year old mother (I am 40). We saw so much in 10 days, and we absolutely could not have planned that kind of trip on our own (and I LOVE planning trips!). The local cultural elements that were included by travelling with Trafalgar (eating lunch at an actual Calabrian farm, seeing how the locals make cheese there, having dinner and a medieval castle in Tuscany, meeting artisans, who are saving time, honoured artistic traditions in Perugia - there were too many to list) were incredible and so educational. We also made literal life long friendships and had the BEST group to explore with. Costa Rica was July 20 24. Again, my mother and I went on a seven day trip together, and walked away from the trip feeling like we really had an understanding of Costa Rican culture, foods, and how the locals there really live. We helped harvest hearts of palm, explored volcanic hot springs, and learned about the local chocolate trade. Fascinating to learn about a culture and people so strikingly different from where we're from. Trafalgar is an excellent company to book with if you want stress free vacations where you actually LEARN about the place you're visiting. I'd encourage anyone who wants to broaden their global viewpoint while having a GREAT time and meeting cool people to consider a Trafalgar vacation! read more

Worst customer service I've ever experienced with a travel company. My mom and I originally paid for a river cruise in August, but decided it was too expensive. We tried to change trips WITHIN the company and they wanted to charge us a cancelation fee. We were pissed, naturally. We decided we no longer wanted to travel with Trofalgar and spent a month trying to cancel. We called almost every day and no one could tell us where our funds went. After a month, they decided to deduct AGAIN. It cost us 500$ each in cancelation fees instead of 250$. Absolutely terrible company. Do not recommend. ​ read more

This is our 3rd trip with Trafalgar. We just came back from the European Highlights tour. MJ was our tour guide and she was excellent! She was very informative and very personable. She really got the group engaged. I cannot say enough good things about MJ. I am looking at some tours in 2026 and hope to have a guide as good as MJ. Also...our driver, Karoly was teriffic. On the last day of the splendors of Japan tour today and our bus driver and tour guide ditched us and left me and my 75 year old mother behind in a random neighborhood where walking was the only choice. Not cool at all. If you want to be rushed through the trip without ever enjoying any down time or getting to actually enjoy any of the places they mention, then sign up. I'm a pretty easy traveler but this was just messed up. Ruined our whole morning/ afternoon. I don't think I will ever use Trafalgar again after this experience. read more

I wish I could review an actual trip booked with Trafalgar, but I couldn't even get that far. I had a question about one of their itineraries since the trip I was considering fell on a holiday weekend. I decided to email them to get clarification before I booked anything. Despite receiving a generic response saying that one of their "travel experts (would) get back to (me) shortly" I have yet to hear anything back. That was over two weeks ago! HUGE RED FLAG!! Clearly, their customer service department is severely lacking. Why would I trust them to care of me on one of their trips if they can't even follow up with a simple email? This was such an amazing experience! We went on the Italian Concerto tour 2 weeks ago. We were so impressed by the professionalism of all of the staff- from the initial customer service team that helped us to book our travel arrangements, to the drivers to the tour director. Every day was paced so thoughtfully- balancing lots of great experiences as well as free time to relax and explore. My daughter and I have severe food allergies and the tour guide made advance arrangements with each of the restaurants to ensure that we had delicious alternative meals provided. It was a worry free vacation where we could really take everything in- knowing we were in very capable hands. Our hotels were nicely located- close enough to stroll to the hot tourist spots but just off the beaten path- where we could also really experience the individual neighborhoods and see true Italian culture in our evenings. It's so amazing how different each city looks at night when restaurants, Gelaterias, and piazzas are illuminated with twinkling lights and the cool air makes it amazing to just sit and take it all in. It was a fantastic experience from start to finish and I highly recommend this outstanding company! We will be planning another trip with them in the future! read more

Traditional Europe *Travel Director Unprofessional (1). He slept on bus and spent most of his time on phone (2). Wore microphone close to waist we were unable to hear him when you provided information (3). Walked fast and some of the elderly or people in poor health unable to keep up with him (4). High pressure for tips for him and his driver. He spent more time explaining tip etiquette than on historical sites. We received several message in written and followed up with verbal requests. (5). Denied us access to use the bathroom on bus. (6). Made it clear that he was not our friend or should we attempted to spend anytime around him (7). Failed to inform us of property attire when going to Norte Dame many individual were denied entrance (8). Provided false or incorrect information (9). Jonathan usually walked us to a site and gave us limited time to shop Instead of touring us around and explaining sites. We were limited on the luggage we could travel with. Shopping daily wasn't something we could do on a 19 day tour when we didn't have the means to bring it home. While on the tour our travel Director Jonathan Newsam left his man bag at a service station with travel information at truckstop. We had a substitute director Brad. We were afforded the opportunity to have a professional director. Jonathan replace was his friend and I'm not sure he inform his employer. Both our bus driver and Tour Director were extremely unprofessional. The picture of the hotels and description were inaccurate based on the brochure. Most of the hotel were outside of town and the food provided was poor quality. One dinner was so bad that several of us got sick. Sprinkled in the poor quality hotels were a few that were nice. Our tour should have included a tour of the Vatican but we were taken to Saint Peter's square and given time to shop. I suggest if you're planning a trip to explore Europe, your money is better spent buying a Euro pass and hiring guides. We spent most of our time on a bus with infrequent stops that had many cellphone/electrical plugs that didn't work. We were traveling during a heatwave in Europe several people got UTI since we were afforded the opportunity to use the bathroom on the bus or had any idea when or next bathroom break. Some days were traveled up to four hours without a bathroom stop. We were able to get a glimpse of many historical site. Most of which we seen from the out side or had to quickly take picture when our driver sped by. Some site we recognize on our own when our tour Director was napping. One one occasion, I asked for clarification since I did hear him. In a loud voice, he responded. I've already informed you 3 times, you need to listen. Several of us discussed that none of us heard him because of the location of his micro phone. Jonathan mannerism and attitude made him unapproachable. Our driver would not greet us and was always in a bad mood. Several days towards the end of our tour Jonathan changed his tone. Played music and appeared friendly. One the same day, he began hard pressing for his tip and sent us detailed explanation of how we should rate our tour. The Hotel Schweizerhof provided food that was spoiled for dinner that was spoiled and made people sick. Hotel Quattro breakfast had spoiled food. Not provided any time in Florence to explore. Hotel Cristallo Assisi was a dump, air conditioner was not working properly rooms were dirty, dinner was poor quality and breakfast food was spoiled. Most of the meals provided by Trafalgar were poor quality with mostly pastas and very little variety. read more

If I could give a zero, I would. Booked with them, put a deposit down and some additional dollars, also bought the insurance, etc. I was told I could cancel within a certain period of time without losing the additional dollars I put down. Well we cancelled within the time because our friends were not able to get on the trip....called and they basically told me to go pack sand. They kept all of my money, telling me its all "policy", go fight with the insurance. Friends warned us not to book with these yahoos, and I should've listened. Let me pass on their advice, and do it with my own bad personal experience to back it up...."Dont book with Trafalgar". We've travelled with EF Tours.....it was awesome. Concerto tour In ITALY saw some amazing places with an added detail to these experiences. Tour guide was responsible and friendly. Trafalgar not a tour for solo travellers, I asked for my own bed and had to share the small bed with a stranger who ended up bad mouthing me within 2hours of my arrival pure textbook bullying to harrasment. Never again, tours are to large. Food most meals seem to accommodate americans diet like chicken brown gravy, disgusting. Best to take the vegetarian diet. The only hotel worth it was the one in Frienze, all others were tiny. I don't recommend Trafalgar for a pleasured trip but if you want to see lots, yes, that is what I appreciated I wanted to see everything. read more

We used to do another tour company for many years but sadly our preferred dates were already sold out for that other company ).. Anyways, this Trafalgar tour was great, though more pricey.. The hotel accommodations were very good and within the city, near to malls, shops, transport lines etc.. What annoyed us was the Tour Director mentioning many times " we have the best spot in this and that, early time to get in the castle etc.. before " THe COMMON PEOPLE " start to come in. Everything! Lack of customer support! Lack of customer service! Lack of empathy for their customers in a difficult situation. I was on the Imperial Europe Trafalgar guided tour starting Aug 29 until Sept 7, 2025. They select all the hotels. Our first hotel was Holiday inn Munich West Park. My hotel room had bedbugs. I was full of bites 18 in my right arm alone and several on my legs and feet. I told our tour director and he told me to buy anti itch cream and get a disinfectant. I reached out to my travel agent who reached out to Trafalgar. No response. They finally sent her an email after I returned home with a Bedbugs information sheet. WTH? My whole trip was ruined I was in agony. Munich was the start of my trip 8 days to go. I was in pain from the itching and scratching. A terrible experience. Prior to this trip I had been on a few Trafalgar tours all good but this was worse. I don't know what was worse the bedbugs or Trafalgar not caring about my safety and well-being. Never again!! Stay away! They do not check out the hotels they put you in. You are at their mercy. Now I know why my tour guide didn't care about my situation he's just being like Trafalgar. Not for seasoned travelers, or people who need detail. First and last tour with Trafalgar. We did the Imperial Europe tour, and they don't provide any details as to bus travel time or when you'll be free to do whatever you want until the day of. You will spend about half the tour on a full bus. A quarter of the bus came down with COVID (including us) and there were no rules to ensure that everyone else wouldn't get sick. Hotels were good (except Salzburg), provided meals were awful. We didn't get to do the one additional tour that we actually wanted to do. It was canceled on the way, and we wasted the entire day waiting to move on to the next city. Barely had any time to do our own thing. Total Nightmare! Could not dream this up in a million years! Heathrow Airport totally closed for about 30 hours due to a mechanical disruption of power because of a fire at the power grid. The Nightmare began the moment our flight was delayed with Trafalgar/Costco Guest Services telling us there was nothing they could do to help. Their help to us was saying by the way we see you purchased travel insurance that has "cancel for any reason insurance"so don't worry you are covered. What? Where was the service promised that if anything went wrong they would be there 24/7. Trafalgar/Costco Guest Services would not assist us in getting a new flight they said that was the airlines had to reschedule us. The airlines said that it was Trafalgar/Costco that had to reschedule our flights because we booked and paid for the flights with Trafalgar/Costco. Back and forth with phone calls between Trafalgar/Costco and the Airlines trying to get anyone to help. This was going on for hours and hours I emailed the travel guide Patric he told me to contact European Guest Services who said they would be contacting North American Guest Services. Can you See the run around we were having. All the time wasted and any available flights were getting totally sold out AND here we were Just kept getting the same answer, well we see you purchased travel insurance with" cancel for any reason" so don't worry. You never get or can ask for the same person to talk with either. Travel Insurance they kept saying Not that simple as we are finding out. We are hopeful of course, all we wanted was to take this tour. The event at Heathrow Airport was out of our control. We were at the mercy of Trafalgar/ Costco Customer Guest Services. Still waiting three weeks later as our trip was suppose to start with us leaving Chicago on March 20th. Not sure if we will ever be able to go. And if we are out of thousands of dollars! I booked a "costsaver" land-cruise tour through AAA in Chula Vista and was incredibly disappointed. If I could give zero stars, I would. 1. I checked into my hotel in Athens and was told to review the lobby bulletin board for my pre-cruise meeting. The only posting that seemed to fit was at 6:30 pm the following evening. I tried to connect with Nadine_Greece (as posted), but she never responded to her ig message (and still has not, as a courtesy). When I tried to reach out for help, I could not find anyone. Fortunately the Zafolia hotel connected with Nick (a local Greek tour guide who was great) and he arrived as soon as he could but was still late making us late for our pre-booked dinner reservations. There was a communication breakdown and we ended up suffering. 2. The cruise brochure offered some options for each day (which we studied and selected) but when we arrived at our group meeting, it was clear that only one option was available. We didn't know what we were doing until our first day. Additionally, Costsaver only books inside cabin rooms, and that was not clear until we arrived to unpack. 3. The Zafolia hotel lobby was beautiful, but the rooms were a little dumpy. Our toilet wouldn't flush properly and they couldn't fix it. The bathroom counterspace was incredibly scarce. Some shelving for personal toiletries would have been appreciative. Also, there were no USB outlets for charging phones - he had to take turns using our converter. Finally, the door between the breakfast restaurant and the rooms sometimes didn't give proper access. While I notified the front desk, this issue never was fixed. 4. The Costsaver Celestial Cruise was not enjoyable as I would have liked. While the vegan food to order was delicious (thank you Roy and Jean Pierre!!!), our tour guide Anne was flat-out rude. She mentioned twice that Ephesus was nice because "there were not groups of Muslims openly praying in public" (WTF!?! What a bigot!). She publicly chastised me in front of the group because my nephew and his mother were a few minutes late to the morning meeting. I couldn't reach them because the inside cabins has ZERO cellular service. I explained a 630 breakfast for a 730 pick up time for 3 people sharing a cabin was not enough time to get ready. She was condescending re: the vouchers (initially rejecting them) but then ultimately providing a refund (almost as easily as she took our money - go figure). When asked questions, she would start out, "As I said..." Anne also suggested we "buy" a large bottle of water on the ship. In front of the group, I suggested instead we use our own water bottles and refill them for FREE at the bottle refilling stations - she ignored my comment. Additionally, I needed to use the women's room in Ephesus and the line was really long. I probably waited in line for 20 minutes while my group shopped. I was still in line when my group started their tour in Ephesus without me! As a result of this trip, I'll stay clear of AAA Travel, Trafalgar, and Costsaver. read more

We were left halfway through our tour unable to use any of the communication "tools"!trafalgar had given us.we had to set up our own transportation to catch up with the tour group. Booking the trip was so incredibly easy!!!! The representative on the phone was very nice! Very knowledgeable and able to answer all my questions. Booking was insanely easy! We did The Best of Ireland and Scotland with Andrew Speed and Eoin Lynch. They were both so incredibly amazing and a huge factor in making our trip memorable. Andrew was such a bundle of knowledge! the way he told us the history of the land and all the various stories throughout the trip felt like such a treat! I could listen to him for hours! HE also worked very hard to time everything perfectly. Somehow ever single stop we made, we were able to see the beautiful sites and shop all the stores before the other tour buses ruined the scenes with all the people or before the weather turned bad. He was like the tour guide/ weather doppler all in one. Eoin Lynch was also a huge factor in our amazing trip! He managed to get us on time at every stop I believe! I also have never trusted anyone more than him to drive me or a bus full of rowdy people through the country, or small cramped winding city roads, or across narrow cliff sides. His driving skills truly are impressive! But the dedication he took every single day to keep the bus clean was also something he should be commended for! The Tour Director, local tour guides, hotels, meals, transports, schedule ... all better than I expected. I would recommend Trafalgar without reservation. We have booked a tour to Britain at the end of August. It is the only tour in August that is not marked as "Definite Departure", which means they have enough people signed up for the tour. This worries us about going on the trip at all. Trafalgar will not provide how close they are to being "Definite". We would book the next tour, 3 days later, if they are not close. The dates are inconvenient but at least it would happen. Otherwise, their customer service has been great. read more

My husband and I took the trafalgar tour called great italian cities. We got to italy one day before tour started . 10 days before the tour was to leave we received an e mail stating we were NOT going to the vatican museum because they couldn't secure tickets???WHAT! But you can do it on your own in your free time. So I right away booked a tour to leave the morning after we arrived, so glad I booked that extra day. It cost us an extra 350$ for the tour and car service to and from. Also was promised St Peter's basilica we didn't do that or St Mark's basilica. Also felt rushed on some of the tours we did. This tour was supposed to be a leisurely pace and it wasn't. The tour guide and driver were wonderful, but I won't do trafalgar tours again we were disappointed. ​ read more

I will never travel WITHOUT Trafalgar! This trip was amazing and I felt so taken care of, informed and cared for. I couldn't have given myself this experience nor would i want to. The places we visited were excellent, the accommodations were great and the coach was comfortable and clean. No AC in the hotels, no ice in the drinks, i never liked the food as it was bland and just not my jam. Im a foodie so this was tough. But still it was experiencing a new culture so I just embraced it. Stevie knows how to drive that Coach! He is so amazing, kept us all safe and on time and was very friendly. I gave him an extra tip on top of my prepaid gratuities because he impressed me so much. He shook my hand in appreciation. I don't have enough words to describe the appreciation I have for James Creegan. His knowledge, wit, smile, and ability to speak in a way 1) we can clearly understand and 2) keep our interest is something to applaud! He knows his stuff and kept us all so well organized. There was about 50 of us on our tour and no one was ever missed or left behind. He danced with us laughed with us and answered all our questions. James is the MVP!!!Lots of us got sick from people who were already sick. It would be helpful if the director would mention wearing masks more than once or hand out masks. I understand you can't force people to wear them but continuous reminders or masks available would help. We started with about 8 coughing and ended with about 80% of the bus sick. There were more pros than cons so that's a win!!! Highly recommend and I will be using them again. Sadly, 1st and last trip with this company. We have traveled a lot, and I can honestly say I will not use Trafalgar again. Everything about the trip was a disappointment, starting with not being advised before the trip to bring a reusable bottle as water is NOT provided. In the past, they apparently "sold" water. The bus was turned off every time we stopped and not restarted until all were back on the bus. I learned quickly to get on last to avoid how hot the bus was. We stopped at multiple visitors centers because they were free and were time killers. The hotels were sub par; not in town, no views, inconvenient... Not enough time to check out cute towns; stops were tacked on to meals, which are time-consuming no matter what. Specifically stated "no pork" at the time of registration and yet this was definitely not taken in to consideration. Highly allergic to feathers and this was pointed out. However I still had to ask for something different. The tour manager acted as if he had never been to the area; he read aloud everything and didn't know answers to basic questions. Well I never thought that I would be writing a bad review but I am. Back in June of this year the wife and I booked a three week (the best of Greece) vacation tour to through Trafalgar. We paid for travel insurance not knowing we would need it. Traveling from Los Angeles we arrived in Greece and was informed that our luggage was lost. We filed a claim with the airport and when we walked out to get our ride to the hotel, there was no one there. I called the trafalgar number for transportation and was told that we had to take a taxi to the hotel because the driver couldn't wait any longer. The taxi was about $60 dollars total, whereas I paid trafalgar $50 per person. Since we had no luggage or clothes, we went shopping for a suitcase and clothes just to get by. We made the best of a bad situation. I even called my travel agent who said everything will be taken care of when we returned home just save receipts. At the end of our Athens site seeing trip, we took a 6 hour fast ferry from Athens to Santorini for the next three days. We had a great time. We took an island hopper back to Athens for a one night stay at the hotel and then to the airport to travel back to Los Angeles. Well, while on the flight from Santorini the travel guide informed us that we didn't have transfer vouchers to board the bus to the hotel. So we took another taxi to the hotel. When we made it home, I filed my insurance claims with the insurance company for luggage and clothes and I filed a claim with Trafalgar for the two taxis that we had to use. The insurance company paid right away. But being a repeat customer of Trafalgar I was SCHOCKED that they had refused to reimburse me for my out of pocket cost. I even said I paid for a service that I didn't receive and wanted a refund for that. Again denied. My travel agent felt so bad that she eventually came out of pocket and paid us. I WILL THINK TWICE BEFORE USING THIS COMPANY AGAIN. read more

When I needed to call Trafalgar, I could almost never get through, had to stay on hold for hours. Last trip was Britian and Ireland highlights in May. Our tour director Nikki was great. Two hotels were subpar!! Most of the travelers got COVID on the trip. We could not travel home as scheduled due to having COVID and therefore had to change our flight. I wanted to book our own flights with the tour but did not, thinking it would better to book the complete package with Trafalgar. I was wrong!!! Trafalgar charged us $700.00 to change our flight home for two people. Trafalgar informed me that i would be charged a change of flight fee due to the airline. When I called United Airlines and inquired what is the customary change flight fee for COVID, they informed me no charge!! Buyer beware, do not book with them. read more

TOO EXPENSIVE we took best of Italy for 13 days tour, which is actually 11 days because they're counting arrival and departure day as part of the tour. It was TOO EXPENSIVE. and focus of the tour seems to be the sales and marketing of either leather, gold or glasses/crystal. We had to also buy all the excursions because otherwise it's not much else to do. And TOO MUCH TIME is spent on the road between cities !! and WiFi hardly worked on the bus so you had to wait to get to hotels to use theirs :-( read more

Update: this morning after 2.5 hours I finally got to talk to Katrina at Trafalgar. She was very pleasant and seemed to really want to help. I think She was new and put me on hold a couple of times to check with a supervisor. But I think she might have resolved my problems. We will see in a couple days if I get my docs emailed again like she requested. She did figure out the problem on my other trip in Amat and that's been corrected. So I changed from one star to two. I'll upgrade again in a few days if my docs arrive. Cudos to Katrina. I understand they are hiring and training and trying to get caught up on employees that the let go during Covid. But there has got to be a better way. At least taking our numbers and calling back would be better than holding for 3 hours! Well I'm leaving for Ireland in two weeks! My travel doc say they can be downloaded. But they are not there. I've waited 2.5 hrs and 4 hours on hold and no one ever comes on. They must have one customer service person out there In CA. This is awful. So glad I booked my own airline tickets. Because I will show up at the hotel even if I don't get my docs! This really is nerve racking! Their customer service gets a F! read more

Tour of Eastern Canada - beware - there is a lot of walking on this tour, up and down steep steps. And, a lot of riding on the bus. It Is a 5 1/2 hr drive from Montreal to Toronto. The seats on the bus were not very comfortable and it was cold on the bus. We loved visiting Quebec - there is so much his there. Just be ready for Long bus rides and lots of walking. We enjoyed the Western Canada tour so much more. read more

Not for seasoned travelers, or people who need detail. First and last tour with Trafalgar. We did the Imperial Europe tour, and they don't provide any details as to bus travel time or when you'll be free to do whatever you want until the day of. A quarter of the bus came down with COVID (including us) and there were no rules to ensure that everyone else wouldn't get sick. Hotels were good (except Salzburg), provided meals were awful. Barely had any time to do our own thing. Were hustled from one city to the next, and didn't have one morning to sleep in. read more

Just came back from the 13 day four Island Adventure. The tour guide Elizabeth was A+. The Aston Hotel was C-, old and lacked the restaurants. Honolulu I will never visit again, do to all the homeless people. We had to shut the windows at night based on all the profanity. The other three island were great. We took the same tour in 2017 and stayed at the Marriott vs the Ashton, which was so much better. NOTE: to Trafalgar, this is not Europe; we need the name tag back! LouisV read more

We have now used Trafalgar for three trips. Booking a trip could not be easier. They booked our trip to Italy, a 15 day excursion to Greece, the Greek Isles, and Turkey and also a trip to some of the National Parks i.e. Grand Canyon, Zion, Bryce, and also some great stops in Az to start the tour and ended the tour in Las Vegas. Every trip was outstanding with everything being taken care of from start to finish. The cost were reasonable and the service from the booking agent to our guides, transportation, and hotels were all superb. Trafalgar leaves nothing to chance and since covid have added wellness directors to be available on the trips. I don't think you can beat the service and the experiences that Trafalgar provides. We are in the planning stages our next two trips one to the Holy Land and Jordan, and taking our adult children and spouse for a family vacation to Italy. Do yourself a favor and look into Trafalgar for all your travel needs. read more

Ok that Egyptian trip ended up awesome. That was the best. Best tour guide ever Mohamed Abdel-rahman. He rocked it all and knew everything. Thanks. Don't use this group as they have not done what is best for their customers. The CEP should be ashamed and embarrassed However, we planned a July 2021 Scandinavian trip a year back and Trafalgar or the country canceled it due to Covid. I called for a refund and the girl said no refunds after a bunch of talking she offered half of my $5,000 back in a form of refund I took that. The more I think about this mess, now I want that other half refunded Also. I don't want you sitting on my $2500 and I don't think you should be. You should actually be issuing $200 vouchers to come back for another trip not hold my funds. I understand if I cancel I get no money back or a credit for future but I didn't cancel this. Please refund my $2,500 on a trip you cancelled. read more

We did the Wonders of Egypt Tour. Overall the tour was very good. Our Tour Guide Adel was Outstanding- knowledgeable caring kind funny and made sure we all stayed safe. We learned so much not just about ancient history but about Egypt, Islam and the world in that area. We were there when the war broke out with Hamas. The busses were excellent as well. My one major complaint was that they said our trip on the Nile would be on one of three ships and then it was not. It was on a much smaller older ship and the rooms were super tiny. It was clean but the rooms felt "unclean" in a sense, the carpets being old and just no room to move around wiht two people. But the staff and service was the best I"ve ever had anywhere. read more

Muris Kemura with Trafalgar Tours went above and beyond to make my Rome and Tuscan Highlights trip the experience of a lifetime! Having been born and educated in Rome, Muris has a real passion for Italy. His knowledge and enthusiasm were contagious. The entire trip was well planned and perfectly executed. I saw more on this adventure than I would have ever dreamed of experiencing on my own. Muris organized dinner in a vineyard with dancing, a class with a Tuscan Chef accompanied by an amazing Tenor and guitar player, a wonderful "Be My Guest" dinner experience at a Tuscan farm and so much more. I did all of the optional experiences and I enjoyed every one of them! We had a group of 37 on our tour and Muris would often show up with special treats for us. He gave us cannolis at Pisa, strawberries in Cinque Terre, focaccia at the Accademia Gallery in Florence and so much more! Muris took special care with my food allergies and even gave me a note in Italian explaining my allergies that I could present to wait staff when I had meals on my own. What kind of sales business doesn't answer the phone? If they can't answer a few questions on the phone before people book a month long trip to Europe, how will it be after they have your money? I looked online and it appears that THE TRAVEL CORPORATION owns Trafalgar Tours and many others below. I guess if you have a monopoly on travel tours, you really don't care about it. My Magical Mystery (Covid) Tour: I was recently on a 2-week bus tour with Trafalgar Tours. The actual tour and Tour Director were great. Trafalgar does a wonderful job planning and executing their trips. Unfortunately, it turned out that persons with Covid were on the bus trip from the beginning, and after days of constant coughing, about 1/3 of the tour became quite sick. Most of these people were 60-80 years old, making the situation even more dangerous. I lasted until the final couple days until becoming ill. When I got home, I tested positive for Covid. I wanted to investigate Trafalgar's Policy to see why this was allowed to happen. Much of it comes down to a rebounding travel industry trying to get customers back and not alienating anyone. It is the problem no one wants to talk about. Here are my conclusions... Trafalgar has a purposefully ineffective Policy regarding spread of Covid on bus tours. It is based on not taking responsibility by not requiring testing of sick passengers and not removing Covid positive persons from the coach. It places the responsibility of managing this issue on the Travel Director, who while trained in health protocols, has no actual company Policy allowing them to protect the other travelers from a Covid sick individual. This puts everyone on the bus at risk. A couple things about Covid that makes it particularly tricky on bus tours... 1. Covid is an airborne virus mostly spread by coughing. It can stay in the air for 3 hours. Anyone within 6 feet is in range breath it in. Wearing a personal mask is only effective for short periods of time. A loaded tour bus has no place to hide. 2. Covid is rarely spread by surfaces as was initially thought. It is good to disinfect items for regular germs, but it does little to combat Covid and other airborne viruses. Trafalgar's system of consistently cleaning the bus sounds good but is not very effective. 3. Covid is mostly spread by persons with symptoms. The only effective way to stop the spread is to isolate that person from proximity to others. Trafalgar's policy says that the client's wellbeing is their priority. Then it says it's your responsibility to stay healthy based on other requirements of countries and airlines. There is no requirement for a traveler to be Covid boosted or have had a 72-hour test before getting on the bus. The policy does not include asking for a person with Covid to isolate or leave the tour. Even if it is an unstated rule, the traveler will avoid getting Covid tested having just spent thousands on the trip. It is left to the Travel Director to deal with a sick passenger without telling them what to do. If the passenger has no travel insurance, Trafalgar will not refund the trip. This forces the infected person to stay on the bus and infect everyone else. Trafalgar's Incidence Response Protocol suggests testing and distancing measures by the Travel Director. This can be assumed to be voluntary since there is no policy in place to support this. The Travel Director is put in a tough position, since they are working for recommendations and tips, cannot alienate the Client at the risk of losing their rating and salary. Distancing measures are mentioned numerous times in the Policy. On a full bus, there is no space for distancing, so leaving the bus would be the only option. No distancing measures were taking on our tour, despite the large numbers of sick people. In the end, all of this could have been avoided if Covid sick persons were not allowed on the bus in the first place. It was discovered that the infected individuals knowingly went forward with the trip without regard for the other passengers. The requirement of a 72-hour negative Covid test would have solved this. More so, when it became apparent there were sick people on the bus, testing should have been conducted and if positive, those individuals should have been removed. Trafalgar is a private company that can require these simple measures in their Policy. This would allow the Travel Directors to do the right thing and actually protect the health and wellbeing of all the other tourists on the bus. Trafalgar would be wise to reconsider their current (non)approach and get ahead of this issue before it becomes a bigger branding concern. I for one will not be going on another bus tour with Trafalgar without better safety measures in place, mainly because I don't want to become sick again and I am uncomfortable watching elderly passengers risk their health. Giving their status as a well-respected tour company, Trafalgar could instead be more pro-active and be seen as a responsible leader in the industry that protects their mostly older travelers, while still providing great tours with excellent service. read more

Just returned from Trafalgar's Best of Greece tour. I can not say enough about how wonderful this experience was for me and my son. Our tour director Ioannis was the absolute best for every aspect. His knowledge of the sites, the history, the local foods, and people were far above what I expected. His organization of the trip was unparalleled. He made sure we left on-time, got to the sites before all the crowds, and created a schedule where you never felt rushed but felt like you saw everything you could. We did not take the optional tour of Santorini instead of opting to go to Mykonos for the sandy beaches and night life. The only hiccup to the trip was Air Canada who I will now call Air Cant-ada. Our luggage was left behind in Denver and we had to spend the first 4 days scrounging for necessities and additional clothes that we washed in the sink. Again, Ioannis came to the rescue. When the bags finally arrives in Greece, he coordinated with AC to have them meet us in Delphi and with the hotel to pick them up at the local bus station and bring them to our room. We also never took any of our pre-booked flights on AC. They were either delayed for equipment issues our outright cancelled. When booking this trip from the US or Canada, specify you DO NOT want to fly with AC. If you are looking at this trip, please understand it is NOT for those with mobility issues. My fitness app said I climbed over 112 flight and walked over 50 miles. The paths are often uneven and the stones can be slippery as these are over 4000 years old. The bus was new and the driver was amazing. We went to a olive oil farm and tried different flavors with a great dinner. There was a trip to a honey farm where we donned bee keepers suits and learned about bees and honey production also tasting many varieties. Ignoring AC, I'd give this tour a 10/10.
