Odd use of space for a JSX terminal but stocked full of drinks, clean toilets Just felt very cramped trying to exit and enter terminal through passengers lined up to board planes. Signage was not helpful navigating to ride share waiting areas. Not helpful was the pavements for rolling luggage around the building to get into and out of the building to get to ride shares or rental cars Odder still was that the road and paths were topped off when passengers would leave the building to embark on the aircraft, walking through the active road, through the gated runway areas. I love JSX! The convenience alone deserves 5 stars. I sometimes show up 20 minutes before my flight and there are no lines, no chaos, no airport stress. I dont remember if this location has valet option.. the one in Burbank does. Flying to Vegas feels effortless and like youre hoping into a car rather than dealing with a typical flight. Ever since I discovered JSX as an option for my domestic flights to Vegas I never went back The flights are so fast and easy I simply have zero complaints Prices are double that of standard ticket prices but if I can bypass the TSA check in nonsense I'm all in They occupy a small air bunker conveniently off John Wayne Airport. The checkin process requires nothing more than your drivers license and a quick 2 minutes check in process. They have a waiting area that has plenty of snacks Starbucks coffee and restrooms. Charging plugs galore and wait times are usually minimal There are delays which are out of their control due to weather but with that said the convenience far outweighs the canceled flights and delays that do unfortunately happen from time to time. They offer complimentary cocktails on the flight and snacks, as well. It's about 45min or less to Vegas and the flight is seemless! I highly recommend JSX if you're planning your next trip to Vegas or any of their other convenient destinations. You won't have to put up with the obnoxious traffic or tedious TSA checkin craziness ever again and that imo makes their flights priceless! read more

TERRIBLE FOR CATS!!! 12/20/25 UPDATE: On my return flight from BUR they did NOT require my cat be removed from the carrier this time. I will give them another chance and hope it was a temporary glitch! I still think that the customer service received after the incident was terrible. I have been paying a premium by traveling with my cat on JSX for the past 5 years because they didn't used to make me take my cat out of his carrier before boarding the plane. Without any warning, I learned that had all changed when I flew from OAK to BUR earlier this month. I arrived and checked in around 25 minutes before the flight, as usual. I had already paid for my cat and they acknowledged him when I checked in, but there was no mention of any new or special procedures. The flight then proceeded to be 2 hours late, which wasn't great, but these things happen. Finally we lined up to board and when I got to the front of the line they told me I had to remove my cat from his carrier so they could put the carrier through the xray machine! In 5 years of flying JSX they never had xray machines and they certainly never told me to remove my cat from his carrier. I protested, as anyone with a cat knows that my cat would be terrified being removed from his carrier in that environment and might escape! They made me wait to the side while everyone else boarded the plane. Then they said that there was no way around it and I had to remove him from the carrier or we couldn't board the flight. Fortunately one of the staff saw my distress and offered to help me transfer him to a spare carrier they had on hand and then transfer him back again after his carrier went through the xray machine. It was very traumatic for both of us and I felt terrible keeping everyone on the flight waiting, especially since it was already 2 hours late. I still can't believe that no one thought to let me (and all other pet owners) know that their procedures had changed as it had only been a few months since I had last flown with them, so this couldn't have been the policy for very long. They have a record that I have flown with, and paid for, my cat on many flights over the past 5 years! And someone could have at least mentioned it when I checked in for the flight. By the way it says nothing about this procedure in their FAQ for traveling with pets (https://www.jsx.com/petpolicy). After I took a little time to calm down, I called customer service to see what could be done for my return light next month and was told they couldn't offer any assistance at all and I would just have to remove my cat from the carrier before boarding. I asked to speak with a supervisor, just to see if there was any type of accommodation that could make the process easier and was told I would get an email within a couple of days. I did receive an email promptly, but it just said the exact same thing that the phone agent told me. There was nothing they could do. I responded right away asking if there was anything they could do to assist with the procedure, but after 5 days I still haven't received any response. I'm at my wits end and am posting this review here and anywhere else I can thing of to warn others and hope for some help. read more

Flights here seem fine - but the entire business has no support. Valet parked car, told them multiple times arriving late & they did not put keys for late pickup. No way to find anyone - had to return the next morning & they had no idea where the keys were! There's ZERO after hours support or any type of security or customer service. I love JSX and try not to fly anything else if I can help it. The prices are more than other airlines, but the convenience is worth it to me. You just show up 30 minutes before your flight; show your ID to the check-in agent and check your bag. There is no horrendous line or wait at JSX. They have a decent sized waiting lounge in OC with a couple of offshoot rooms for overflow and while you wait you can make yourself a nice cup of coffee from their machine that makes everything (lattes, cappuccino, hot chocolate, decaf, espresso, etc). I only wish they had adult beverages available like at a regular airport. My vacation starts when I arrive at the airport, but I just wait until I get on the plane to start cocktail hour. The planes are always really clean and flight staff super friendly and helpful. The jet gets to Vegas in less time than a big plane and seats 30 passengers. A big plus is Starlink which is free WiFi during the flight and has great connectivity. I would highly recommend that everyone try JSX at least once. Maybe splurge for your bday and let JSX ruin you forever where you will never fly regular again. Cheers! read more

Our primary reason for flying JSX is that it completely eliminates the "hassle" of regular commercial air travel. No having to get there one, two, three hours ahead of time and having to sit around in a crowded, noisy, smelly terminal in uncomfortable seats for all that time. No interminable check-in lines. No long lines for annoying, intrusive security screenings. Instead you just show up something like 30 minutes ahead of your flight time and usually within five minutes (10 maybe if folks ahead of you) you're checked in and have had your items initially security screened. You do still have to run your carry-ons through an x-ray machine prior to boarding but it's pretty quick and straightforward. Over the course of numerous flights originating out of Orange County airport we have experienced none of the delays, employee attitude, poor equipment, or other issues some of the poor reviews have talked about. Our experience has been that the employees have been universally gracious, welcoming, courteous, and professional. The waiting room at OC airport is certainly not comparable to a first class lounge experience, but it is absolutely comfortable and serviceable. (See photo). The waiting room at Reno on our return flight is less so TBH. Borrowed/shared space it seems and not much of it. Single stall bathrooms for each gender, so lines develop. This definitely could use some improvement. The aircraft and equipment on our flight were clean, functioned properly, and felt 100% safe throughout. The stewardesses on our flights were friendly and very capable and efficient. Overall a great, albeit fairly expensive experience. Highly recommended. read more

I was expecting this airline was going to be Epic from what I've heard from a ton of people! Wrong, the waiting room at John Wayne was very small and not much to speak about but this didn't bother me much. The airplane itself was scary, the arm rest was broken so my arm kept getting inside the area the tray table is kept..;not comfortable or nice. We had to put our carry on in this bin at the front of the plane. The stewardess was NO HELP what so ever! Maybe she just assumes everyone has taken this airline before, NOT. Also there was a little step up to the seat which was pretty dangerous and I almost fell,..The stewardess was suffering from "pretty privilege" since she was absolutely not helpful to me at all! When the plane landed I thought it was gonna fall apart, talk about rickety... After arriving at their terminal which all by itself on Rock Ave. I had to call a cab since there weren't any waiting and Uber didn't service this area... What a miserable experience! read more

First time using JSX and it was an amazing experience. At the time of booking the ticket, John Wayne Airport was the destination from Dallas Fort Worth. I would of liked to land in Burbank but that option was not available to me. I was told that I could switch flights at Las Vegas to arrive at Burbank but that seemed more of an inconvenience than to drive myself to my final destination. I had my dog with me and I didn't want her to experience more anxiety than she needed to. Overall, this chartered flight allowed my dog in the cabin with me and not in a small carrier she can't fit into so I was very happy. The flight was on time, I got 2 alcohol beverages at no charge, arrived 20 minutes before boarding and it was a smooth ride throughout. The stewardess were so friendly and caring to make sure we were comfortable. Highly recommend and it's worth every penny. I want to fly like this all the time if I can afford it. The parking lot here is small and packed. If you have someone picking you up, they should come early so they can secure a spot by the door and wait in the car. Easy to find and private driveway so you're not in the hectic line of arrivals or departure lanes like you normally would have to navigate with the crowds. read more

I picked JSX because I had to move state with my elderly and much loved cats (job relocation). I was stressed about traveling with my pets but after much research I'd read loads of great things about JSX. I reached out to them via their web chat and was reassured that they were different. The agent told me that my cats had to stay in their carriers at all times and would not be required to be taken out at security. One of my biggest fears was my cats trying to run away while I tried to hold them in a scary new environment. "Great I thought!". I called to double check before booking and was told the same thing. So I booked. Fast forward 2 months. I'm boarding the flight and in an incredibly noise airport hanger with the doors wide open get told to take my cat out or I would not be boarding the plane. People are staring, I'm crying. It's awful. I might as well have just flown AA at least then I would have had power at my seat. The flight attendant just looked at me blankly and said "yes. They don't work" when I asked for help. The waiting lounge was also over crowded and full of barking dogs. Happy your dogs x as n d my but surely you shouldn't be letting them gruel and bark at other people and their terrified pets. I would never fly JSX again. read more

Was on a flight from Burbank to Napa November 14, 2025. Flight was almost 3 hours late and my wife and I missed her birthday lunch. No apology. Refused to tell us why the flight was late. Hid the amount of time we would be late. Called Customer Service and they were non-responsive. Asked for a supervisor and was told someone would call in the next 24-48 hours and nobody called. JSX is expensive. It used to be worth it for the superior customer service and convenience, neither of which exist at this point. Buyer Beware! Don't use them. New OC JSX "Terminal" Review. I write a bit about JSX. This is an update to an earlier review. First impressions are always important - the new JSX OC terminal is at the end of a large warehouse building - easy to get to and about the same size as the previous terminal on the other side of the airport. Not overly impressive, amenity laden or extraordinary. All major airline lounges beat JSX handily at this game. As do most higher end doctor waiting rooms. So don't get there early to relax before your flight - or work - or eat - or anything else. This terminal isn't for you. There is water, soft drinks and a coffee machine. So bring your own snacks. Seats inside the terminal are reasonably comfy, if uninspiring. Staff as always is friendly and courteous. Very rules driven, they always smile when telling customers what they Can't do. Don't dare taking an extra personal item on the plane. You are allowed one and only one. No matter how small/light/fragile or stow-able it is. Dems da rules. Unless you are traveling with dogs for some reason. Or brought your lunch. Or brought lunch for the dogs. You need ID to obtain your boarding pass - you need ID again to proceed through screening, you need your ID, Boarding Pass and an additional placard to walk to the plane - unfortunately you do not get to keep the placard as a souvenir of your thrilling experience on JSX - I'm sad, it was a nice placard. After many years of air travel, I'm not sure what the big deal is about JSX. It is NOT remotely close to flying private, nor is it the same cosseted experience as first class on any major commercial airline. At about the same price (or slightly more). To me the sole and singular advantage of JSX is the ability to fly into smaller airports (Burbank, Boulder, Scottsdale, Concord etc). If that has value for you (it does for me) - then suffer up everything else and do it. Just don't expect perks, mileage credit, storage space, amenities and big comfy airplane seats. And Don't bring any extra items - unless you have a dog. read more

We still made it 10 minutes prior and they did not allow us to board !!! So despite their slogan about being relaxing and accommodating to their clients they have proven to be far from it. For a client who has flown many times on this airline they need to DO BETTER!!! We got a measly refund one way because they failed to inform us of the changes the flight reservation still said leaving from Santa Ana not Costa Mesa !!! Being a medium spending Vegas gambler, MGM Resorts offered me a credit towards a flight on JSX from Santa Ana to Vegas. I needed to take a solo trip over and back so why not give this a chance. First, you can usually find flight (right now) for $99 if you book in advance. Similarly, Southwest is $49 for certain flights, but you get what you pay for. The booking was done for me, so that was easy. I had 3 flights to choose from leaving on a Sunday, but only 1 flight available to return on Tuesday. Thanks to traffic, I arrived only 15 minutes before the flight. There was also confusion in the small parking lot as cars that were dropping people off didn't seem to know where to go. I finally just hopped out in the driveway because we weren't moving at the moment. No problem. While I was standing in a short line waiting to be checked in, a JSX employee asked me for my ID and a the (what seems to be now standard) Covid-19 questions to help speed the process of getting my boarding pass. I think the check in took less than 10 minutes. The waiting room is small, although it appears to be 3 rooms? I didn't have time to check them all out because we told they were ready to board in about 3 minutes. You walk down a short regular office looking hallways, and right onto the plane! Talk about your curbside service! The plane is a smaller jet, but you can still stand up to walk to your seat. First thing I noticed is while the plane it clean, it shows some wear and tear. I was tired and hoping to maybe close my eyes a bit, but the seats weren't high enough to rest my head. I was in row 2 though so I have a great view of the ground as we flew to Vegas to keep me entertained. The captain came on to provide some flight information, timing, altitude, and a Vegas weather update. They have regular outlets to charge your phone or run your laptop. How awesome is that?!? However, there's was no internet. Being only a 40 minute flight, we were offered a free beverage (both alcoholic and non-acholic) and a small snack that was a little more than Cheeto's. Upon arrival in Vegas, we were asked to remain on the plane while they unloaded our luggage. When I got off the plane, I understood why we waited. All our luggage was in a row, with the handles extended for easy grab and go. All in all a great flight. Again though, the parking lot in Vegas was a little confusing. It's pretty tiny and not a lot of room for loading passengers, but people did get picked up. Total time to get from my house to my Vegas hotel? About 2 hours, and for the most part, stress free. read more
