Saturday afternoon visit, a few other places had a 45 minute to an hour wait. Tried here and it was only a couple minutes. Busy place, was bustling. Here is what we liked * Good selection of local beers and it was cold. * the flat bread was good, little crisp and decent amount of toppings * The salad was good, nothing bad to say about it but nothing out of the ordinary- decent size * For being busy service was attentive. What could Of been better: * Not a big deal but the tables are close, you have to enjoy dining with other people. Maybe get to Know them Overall good little place just off the main strip.

This place was pretty busy, so it seemed like it would be the best option in the area. The views were great from the patio and everything else was average Food: I was actually surprised to see a lot of Cajun options o the menu! I probably should have ordered one of those , but I opted for the burger instead. I ordered it "medium" but half way through it was rare (I'm not sure how they managed that but it's kinda impressive). The bun was soggy and the side salad was not worth it. The fried okra appetizer was the best part. Seating: They have some outdoor tables but those were full. The inside tables were packed as well. There was bar seating and seating at the patio railing (which had the views) Service: Service was a bit awkward. Everyone was nice, but it wasn't clear how to order, if the order was put in and I was good to go, how to get a water refill (I didn't get one until they refilled when I got the check) Price: Overall for the food (I didn't have a drink) it was pricey for the quality of the experience. Parking: The whole area was a bit challenging parking wise but that was expected with a downtown like this

Great find if you like Cajun food they do a decent job. Rotating selection of local taps and cans. Service was friendly and spot on, the place is clean and decently priced. We enjoyed blackened catfish and shrimp & grits (creamy and delicious!) with jalapeño cornbread. The cornbread is not listed as a side, but for $2 they give you a big slab which is toasty and easy to share. Spice level was mild on our dishes, but hot sauce is on each table. Good for groups. Inside/outside and bar seating. If you are in the area give them a try. They have a big burger and sammie selection along with a kids menu. Enjoy!

    Cheese curds

This was the best burger I had the whole trip! We sat outside on the street and had a great time! We started with the cheese curds that were 10/10 when dipped in their homemade ranch. They also came with a side of BBQ sauce which I didn't really understand, we preferred the ranch. The Mardi Gras burger was piled high with bacon, pickled jalapeños and other toppings that complemented the juicy burger patty perfectly. The jalapeños packed a punch so I knocked half of them off and went back to munching. Delicious! The side salad was fresh and I enjoyed one of their homemade vinaigrettes. Our waitress was a lot of fun and we got in and out of there in about an hour. Not busy at all on a Friday night around 8p.

Beer, wine, ciders they have all the drinks!

Casual dining, scrumptious food and after a day of hiking a cool beer and hard cider made it a complete 10/10! Downtown Golden Colorado has lots of places to choose from for dining and we picked one of the best! Friendly, fast service reasonable prices, mystery beer deals on Thursday. What more could you want? The menu has clever wording to describe the options for food. We got a Mountain Fig Pizza. Delightful flavors to the palette! Yes, I will be frequenting this restaurant again, as should you! The beer and ciders are cold and go down easy on a hot day!

My group of friends needed a place to watch a football game on Saturday night, and this place fit the bill. There were a few TVs, and we got them to change the channel on the TV above our table to the one we wanted. We got some truffle fries and boneless wings to start. The wings were a lot better than I thought they would be, but they were a bit pricey. I got the chicken sandwich with Cajun fries. The sandwich was a little thinner than I expected, but the fries were very good. You do have to pay to upgrade from chips to fries, which was annoying. This place had a good amount of seating and could seat a large group. I do think it is overpriced, but the food was good.

We chose this place on a whim because it looked fun and smelled good. We also wanted some local beer and this place delivered exactly what we were looking for. It's cute inside and out, and the service was all around great. Delicious beer and totally scrumptious food! I loved the Storm Peak Maestro West Coast IPA and practically licked the salad bowl clean and devoured the sweet potato fries. Definitely a wise choice if you're in Golden!

We really loved the Blackened Catfish Cajun Po'Boy sandwich. The fish was well seasoned but in a way that really allowed you to taste the fish itself. I was very impressed, and almost ordered another one if my stomach only would've had more room for it.

I said it was the best burger I ever ate. My husband, whose hobbies include crushing joy with logic, said, "No it wasn't. It was an ordinary burger. You only think it's amazing because you almost died." Had to settle that debate, so we tried it without the kill-me-hike warmup this time. Food I don't like my burgers swimming in their own juicy filth. And these burgers are dry, juicy, beefy, and didn't almost drown in their own fat. Even the bun (brioche, I think) stayed dry as summer heat. Plus, their fries are that kind that almost seem battered. Crisp on the outside, potato-y on the inside. We also tried the deviled eggs, which was a nice update to an old classic. Atmosphere This is perfectly casual with outdoor dining (great for dogs). Big umbrellas and coverage from the summer sun. I've never eaten inside because why. Service Perfectly competent. Nobody gave us a pony. Nobody accidentally set us on fire. The food arrived quickly, while the check took its own scenic route through the restaurant. Everyone was friendly. No complaints. Value Expensive burgers at $18-22 each. But I only have burgers a few times a year, so when I do, I'm going to demand one of these from now on.

Solid 5 stars for a buffet (probably a solid 4 just as a pizza place)…read more This is our second time stopping here on vacation -- going back to Woody's was actually one of the reasons we wanted to hit Golden again. It's on the south side of the main downtown drag. It gets quite busy even at off-peak times, so there's usually a wait of some kind. Head up to the door, get on their list, and they'll call you when your seats are ready. We got a little lucky since there were only two of us and there was open bar seating -- we sat at the bar, had a beer, and did the pizza buffet from there. It's not just a buffet, either. You can order off the menu, get your own personal pizza, or do a two-slice-and-a-salad deal, which is a cheaper version if you don't want the unlimited all-you-can-eat. They also have a full-service bar with cocktails, beer, and everything else you'd want. Salad bar -- one of the best buffet-type salad bars I've found. It's not the largest -- the salad section doesn't go on for miles, it's actually a pretty small setup -- but everything is fresh and the range of ingredients is big. Fresh salads, multiple dressings, several crunchy toppings, a bunch of vegetables, black olives, peppers, and two or three different proteins to add. Really, really like it. Also included with the salad bar buffet is their beer soup -- kind of a cheese soup. I skipped it this time since I didn't want to get that full, but I've had it in the past and it's super solid. Definitely something to try on a cold day. Pizza buffet, under $20/person -- there's a window with all the pizza sitting out, usually four to six at a time, right behind where they're making and cooking them. You can walk up and request whatever you'd like -- the chefs are right there, so you can say "hey, can I get a barbecue chicken pizza?" and they'll put one together and set it in the window. The range is usually about three normal pizzas -- pepperoni, supreme, plain cheese -- and three odder ones, like a buffalo chicken or a beef barbecue cheddar. I also saw one with ricotta and prosciutto. So they're not just doing standard pies; there's a really big range to choose from. The pizza quality is good. I wouldn't call it super thin crust, and it's not super thick where the toppings are -- but the edge of the crust is a thicker, doughy handle you can grip and gnaw on, and it's very tender and flavorful. If you're a crust eater, you'll like this crust, and you can dip it in sauces or dressings from the salad bar. Service was top notch and everybody there was friendly. One thing that stood out: the bartender asked the guy sitting next to us if everything was good, and he said he was just waiting on a buffalo chicken pizza. She called straight over to the kitchen and had them cook one. They still put it out on the buffet, but he got exactly what he wanted. Pro tip: Under $20 a person might sound like a lot, but come hungry and it's a steal. I ate probably fourteen slices -- I drove down here with the intent to get full, and it wasn't a bad full. Highly suggest going, and I'd return if I find myself in Golden, Colorado again.
