My FAVORITE place to get a pedicure!! They do thorough job and are happy to help you relax. I love the spa pedicure with the green stuff they slather on your legs and wrap in plastic. When they take it off your legs are tingly and feel fabulous! They then massage your calves - and it's a GOOD massage, not cheesy. Lots of chairs (awesome massage chairs) and I rarely have to wait Longer Than a couple low minutes as a walk in. Can't wait for my next pedi!! read more

Absolutely horrible service! My nails look fine but at each point where I asked to have something corrected they choose to go back and forth with me about the service. They do not care about the client only what they are used to doing. Completely poor service!!!!! The nail tech tried to correct me on the polish I'd chosen and the nails I'd chosen to have my second polish on. Once I corrected her she became frustrated and messed up the polish on two other nails by bumping her hand into my fingers. I simply placed my hand down to avoid any other errors. Once she saw the two nails she blamed me for brushing my hand on the towel. After I corrected her again she begins to speak to the other nail techs in their native language. Afterwards I once again requested something: to have the UV Light Lamp actually turned on during my drying set. The heavy set lady at the front argued with me about not needing the light b/c I received a basic manicure. However, any other place will have the lamp continuously installed (they haven't replaced the lights) for HEAT to be applied and smooth out the nail. Yet their argument is it's not needed. But I told them it's what I paid for and what I would like, esp so I don't have cold hands walking out!!!. She just walked away from me and was very rude in front of other customers. I have been to this location a couple of times now as there are limited options for nail salons in my hometown when I'm home visiting family. I thought that if I gave it a few tries eventually the experience would get better, but the service and overall experience declined with each visit. I recently took my mom there to treat her to a manicure before a day of shopping and I've never had such a terrible experience at a nail salon. The first indication should have been that they had zero selection of colors to choose from, and all of the colors they did have had been watered down. For a nail salon, they should have had many other colors to chose from. Next, they rushed through the entire process. The tools were not cleaned thoroughly between use, and still had dead skin on them. They also used a towel on my sister's hands that had just been used at a pedicure station. After our initial polish had been removed, they asked me if I wanted a second coat of polish and a top coat. Isn't it standard procedure to do that automatically with a manicure? I am a fairly regular customer.. I feel that the girls always do a nice job. I brought my sons girlfriend with me to get a full set of nails.. She wanted Pink & white Acrylic because her salon in NY uses acrylic. This is on their price list. After they sat my friend down, the nail tech was nowhere to be found..after 10 minutes waiting....finally when "Lisa" the nail tech so graciously decided to shows up. She seemed irritated that she had to do acrylic. After starting the nails, she said that she didn't have the white acrylic. so my friend had to pick a color... She was very rude, and had an attitude the whole time.. It was just unacceptable.. Needless to say, rudeness does not get you a good tip.. or a tip at all... read more

Worst gel manicure I've ever gotten in my life. Made an appointment at this dirty place 2 days in advance and they took me over a half hour late. When I asked the woman to simply make a straight line she couldn't do it. She didn't cut my cuticle when I asked her to 3x, and I had nail polish all over my skin. Told the lady at the front desk that I was very unhappy, she looked at my nails, called the women over, said something in a different language, completely ignored the fact that my nails looked awful and charged me the full price. Quick service, however I was asked 4 times if I would like to upgrade my pedicure. It was difficult to understand the woman because of her accent. I didn't appreciate the pressure to spend more money. It was highly unprofessional when an argument/disagreement broke out among the workers and someone who seemed to be in a managerial role. Awkward for the clients! Highly disappointed when my nail tech made a phone call during my service. The final straw was when a man offered a massage while I was sitting at the dryer. I have gone to this place multiple times to get my nails done, today I went in for a pedicure as well as a fill. The woman that did the pedicure for me added too much polish to one of my toes so it began to shift under the top coat. When I went back not even an hour later she tried to say it was the way my toes were shaped. The professional thing to do would have been to fix the one nail instead of criticizing the way my feet are. I give them a one star rating and I will never go back. read more

This place is simply terrible. Some months ago, I came in to get a pedicure done. I arrived at the exact same time as another customer. The woman at the desk told us to have a seat. While sitting, 2 more customers came in and was told the same. The woman at the desk asked the 3 other women in there to get services what they were getting done and placed them at a table to get helped. She never even asked me, nor looked at me. I was so embarrassed. I rather than put up an obnoxious scene, I walked away in Shame. I should have learned my lesson after this first terrible experience, but I came back to give another try. What did I do that for? I wish 0 stars were an option, because that would be my rating. Today, I arrive to get a gel Manicure and was refused service. I asked why and the woman at the desk informed me that I was too late to have services done. Not to mention, she welcomes 2 other customers after me. She walked away to speak with another woman and came back telling I still could not get services done today. I asked for the name of the manager and said her name was May. When I asked to speak with her, she (May) refused to speak to me. The woman on the phone continued to tell me I should have come in earlier and I can come back tomorrow. She went onto say, that although they close at 8:30, it is their practice to stop accepting new customers at 8pm because of closing. I asked her for clarification 3 times on this, as she accepted 2 customers after me! I'll never go back and will tell everyone I know about these experiences at Tranquility Day Spa!!! read more

I have never, ever, in all of my mature, experienced years...been treated SO poorly as I was in this nail salon yesterday! It takes a lot to make me cry...but this place brought me to tears. This was my first visit to this place. Walking in, the receptionist was on her phone and hardly glanced up at me. I asked for a gel manicure and she just pointed her finger behind her, saying "go there, go there!" I glanced around to get my bearings of where "there" was and saw someone pointing at a chair for me to take. As I approached her, the manicurist at this station never even looked up at me or greeted me. Not one word. She roughly grabbed both my hands, made some sort of disgusted expression and literally tossed a dirty plastic box of fingernail color samples in front of me. At this point, I had a pretty good idea of what direction this appointment was going to take...and it was not a good one! She began crudely removing my existing polish and then took an enormous, very rough emery board to my nails...and my cuticles... and my skin! I balked and she grabbed my hand back toward herself. This was just the beginning of how this treatment continued. She verbally scolded me for taking my fingers out of the soaking water to find a nail color in the box and when I took my glasses off to look more closely at the color samples...she took my glasses, folded them up and placed them on her own side of the station!!! It was beyond my comprehension that she was being so obviously hostile and angry!!! Right after that ridiculous action, I spoke out loud and told her that this situation was NOT going to continue. When I got up to put on my coat and scarf, she reached down into the soaking water, wet her fingers and flicked the water up at my face!! ABSOLUTELY UNBELIEVABLE!! I was so upset and angry..I asked the 'busy on her cell phone' receptionist to get a manager for me to speak to. She led me to a back office where a very young woman was also on her cell phone, with children playing on the floor at her feet. When I described the situation to her, she asked the receptionist which manicurist acted this way. The receptionist repeated the manicurist's name to her. The manager just shrugged her shoulders and said nothing to me. I turned and left, steaming and angry beyond words! This situation goes well beyond any acceptable business behavior. The woman who did my nails was rude, continuously talking to her co-workers with the language that I don't understand. I have been getting my nails done for many years. I can tell from going to Tranquility for a few years that there are or were only a couple of nail techs that used to work there that were any good. I believe they are gone now. The spa looks beautiful , but the quality of service that backs the spa is horrible. Its a gamble to hope that day you get in that you can get someone who does quality work. I suggest you look elsewhere than this mall spa. read more

I brought myself, my mother, and my fiancee in before our wedding. My fiancee got a manicure, and his hands look great. My mother got an herbal manicure, and she loved it. I got a full gel set, it was my first time so I didn't know it was going to burn a little when it cured, but the service was great. We didn't have to wait at all, they sat us all down immediately and got to work. No one was on there phones, and they were very polite. I would defiantly go back again. read more

I came here on a thursday evening (730, place closes at 9) I ordered a Deluxe Pedi ($38) My toenails are uneven and I can see streaks in the polish. As soon as I sat in a chair I felt rushed. When I got there, there was two women who were sitting down before me but I managed to be finished first even though I know they were getting Deluxe's as well, based on all the scrubs/treatments. The deluxe included 20 minutes of "reflexology" but it felt like I was just getting my legs lathered in oil for 20 minutes. It was awful. My daughter was left waiting in her chair for over 15 minutes for somebody to get started on her. I had to ask twice for them to add more hot water because she was sitting in the cold. They didn't put her in the cute children's pedicure chairs & the woman said because they don't have massagers, but the massager in the chair they put my daughter in was broken as well. Just because she's a child doesn't mean that she should receive any less treatment as the next paying customer, I did not appreciate that & it ruined her experience. The woman took off her glasses before painting her toes, and when I got a closer look at her pedi on the way home there was polish smeared all over the tips of her toes, like she wiped it away the access with her fingers instead of polish remover on cotton. Please don't let the appearance of this place fool you. It seems to me like they're just trying to get as many people as they can in/out for profit with no regard to their customers. read more

Nooooo, what the heck was I thinking? Years later, I decided to give this place another go while visiting family in the area. Should have known from the get-go it wasn't going to go well...went in for a pedicure and eyebrow wax (after the last experience, even I don't know what the hell I was thinking trying that again). After I picked out a color three groups of two came in. All getting pedicures. I watched as they seated one group of two and didn't say anything, because whatever - no big deal. Then they took the next group of two, at which point I asked if there was some place else I should be waiting. The person who responded used the word "sweetie", which I despise. You are not my close friend nor are you my grandmother. Don't call me sweetie. When they went to help the third group of two I spoke up that I was still waiting, and they finally took me. Pedicure was fine, nice hot stone massage, otherwise, pretty much what you would expect. Then the eyebrows. AGAIN, I didn't notice until after I left, but AGAIN the brows are WAY lopsided and one got seriously shortened in length. I purchased a combo manicure/pedicure at this place. Although all the perks included in the package, along with the affordable price, were nice, the service itself was horrible. The lady who did my mani/pedi was frowning and irritated the entire time, and kept barking orders at the other workers while she was taking care of me. On top of that, I could hardly understand a word she said, as well the other workers I tried to communicate with, and when I asked her if she had a nail strengthening polish she could put on my nails, she totally didn't understand me either. I ended up just putting on my own nail strengthening polish at home. When the service (and language barrier) is so bad I can't even get a coat of polish, you can rest assured I will not be going back to Tranquility Day Spa. read more

I have been going to tranquility for a few months and generally go to Lucy. I came in this morning and asked for Lucy the woman was clearly angry but said that's fine. A different woman came over, not Lucy and started doing my pedi (no big deal). I picked the $40 deluxe pedicure which includes some extras like a 15 minute message. The woman threw the stuff on my legs washed them off and then started panting my toes, no message, no orange scrub, nothing I had payed the extra for. Again, fine but then I asked for a light pink nail color in which she put a tan on me. I told her I didn't love her color and was hoping for pink. The woman got again very angry and said this is pink, which it wasn't, but again fine. After applying another color on top of the one I didn't like and again having to complain because it looked like someone colored my toes in with hot pink highlighter, she stormed off and took the nail polish off. Lucy never came in, because apparently she was not working today which they lied and said she would be here. I ended up leaving and going somewhere else to get my nails done because of how awful the pedicure was. Most of the girls here are great, but this one woman was mean and rude. I have had a few pedicures and have been twice for gel nails. The pedicures are okay. The gel nails-- they didn't use sterilized supplies. They were rude and it looked like a kindergartener painted my nails. I had polish all over my cuticles and the polish was peeling off in 3 days. I wanted to like this place but after 2 very bad gel polish applications and being treated so rudely and the unsanitary supplies- I'm done. I do not recommend this place. Beware read more

I've been going to Tranquility for a few years now and I have no complaints. Yes, some of the people are not the best but others there are great. I have fake gel nails and love them! The one time I had a problem they were very nice and fixed it with no problem. Since I'm a regular there when I break a nail they fix it for free. I've never had the manicure services so I can't comment about that but I do my nails and get pedicures in the summer all the time. I recommend going to this place. read more

Bad. Last month I had healthy thick nails. Today they are paper thin due to the scraping and filing to get the "shellac" off. The are not certified in shellac or opi gel nails They mix and match products and did I mention file my nail bed!! The worst tech is Lily. Totally ruined my nails. They asked me to sign in for the pedicure and then the 3 4 ppl standing around the front desk got completely confused as to who will do it. I came to tranquility one evening after work for a manicure and pedicure. The wait time was approximately 15 minutes, which is reasonable considering I didn't have an appointment and this is a busy salon. I chose my color and was escorted to the back for my pedicure. From the moment I sat down the technician was trying to persuade me to consider a gel manicure instead of a traditional manicure that I requested. I told her I've had them in the past and wasn't interested this time. She proceeded to do a poor job on my pedicure, seemingly more concerned with chatting with her coworkers than focussing on my feet (which needed help!). She even set a timer for my 20 min leg/foot massage but took 2 phone breaks to return personal text messages on her iPhone. My manicure was next. She barley took the time to cut my cuticles. The polish seemed to be going on thick and uneven. I expressed concern but she told me it was fine and an extra coat would do the trick. My nails were so disappointing - I could have done a more professional looking manicure at home for free. Fast forward to the next morning (literally 12hours later) my manicure is chipping and peeling from around my cuticles. I called the salon and spoke with a very curt woman who asked it I had a gel or regular manicure. She told me, and I quote: "regular manicures don't last as long as gel manicures." It had been 12 hours. I ended up going to another salon to have my nails and toes redone. To be fair, I've had some good experiences at Tranquility in the past but the inconsistent quality of service is enough for me to avoid this place in the future. This place is honestly awful. the people doing your nails don't talk to you unless they're telling you how much to pay, and a lot of the time they're on their phones while they're doing your nails. they also try to force you to get gel nails, which are even more money, simply because they want more money for themselves. they charge more than indicated on the sign outside and expect a large tip, even if they do a bad job. my nails looked horrible and while they were drying, the lady insisted that she would get the money out of MY wallet for me because I would mess up my nails. she then proceeded to go through my wallet, taking her tip. it's way overpriced for the quality of nails and customer service you get. don't go here read more

This was the worst experience I've ever had getting my nails done!! My technician was harsh, and careless, throwing my hands around and bumping things into me. She wasn't listening to what I said I wanted and did a poor job in all aspects of application. I spent most of my time thinking about how much I couldn't wait to get out of there! I have been a frequent customer of TDS in Enfield from it's humble beginnings as "Fancy Nails". I love the staff, the service and the people. I have gel nails done and pedicures. The Herbal Spa Pedicure is truly reasonably priced and completely relaxing with the fresh scent of jasmine or lemon grass, hot rock massage and as always, excellent service. I have my eyebrows done all the time and they are great. I am sure like most places, one or two people just have a bad day and miss the mark, but overall, 99% of the time, they are on point for me. read more

She was either having a bad day or lazy and sloppy...my gel manicure is horrible and even went back and had her "fix" it. I had been to this spa once before and it was just 'OK', with employees shouting at each other over a botched job I was'nt sure I wanted to go back but I had family coming for the 4th and wanted to look nice so I thought I would go back, and its just a 10 minute drive for me from Suffield, BIG MISTAKE!!! This time I took my 11 year old daughter with me so she could get a Mani - Pedi too, it started out alright, I didnt hear any arguing and the wait wasnt long so I thought so far so good, they kept trying to convince me to get a Luxury Pedi but I had seen it done and was not impressed so myself and daughter opted for the regular Pedis which went just fine, next we started our Manis of course 'they' tried to convince us again to upgrade but we kindly declined, my Mani was short and rushed and sadly to say it wasnt much of a Mani, but my daughter on the other hand received a wonderful Mani which made me happy, I also got a Full Acrylic Set and thats when it started going wrong, she got glue on my finger tips which wouldnt come off and that stuff kind of hurts, she didnt paint my nails properly at all, so when I pointed out 'missed' areas she quickly did took care of them and sat me at the 'Drying Station', my daughter was already done, so she went to get a snack from Target, when she came back I was done 'Drying' so we started to leave when she moaned that her thumb nail was all smudged over and peeling off, I could'nt believe it, I thought 'an' already so before we left I took her back, 'they' fixed it and we thought everything would be fine, so after 'drying' we left, this time she was EXTRA careful, by the time we got in our SUV to leave she screamed her nails were peeling and she was right, every finger had polish chipping and literally peeling off and the same thumb was peeling too, I was so mad but didnt have time to go back, then I noticed my own nails were already chipping and one was smudged which I didnt see before, I mean REALLY I had sat under the 'dryer' TWICE so how could this happen and then within THREE days ALL of my nails were chipped, how does polish CHIP off of Acrylic Nails within 2-3 days and I payed $99.04 for just my daughter and I, nothing fancy was done I was beyond angry!!!!!!!!! I did get a refund for my Mani and my daughters Mani minus the Pedis and taxes We will never go back and I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone, there are salons not nearly as nice looking with much higher quality work and products, so in short if you do go here expect to pay higher prices for crappy work! I went to Tranquility today and asked for the basic mani-pedi package. First off their pamphlet says it will be $30, they charge me $40. I didnt mind the jump in price to much but was kinda surprised that they haven't updated the price sheets. I started off with the pedicure, it was AMAZING! The water was warm, there was a little liner around the entire tub. The massage chair worked wonders. The woman who did the pedi was great! Off I went to get my mani. Now the same woman went with me from pedi to mani and I thought nothing of it. She seemed to have started rushing. My hands didnt soak for long the water was freezing. She shaped my nails into a horrible looking round tip which is not how I asked them to be shaped, and I normally shape them as a squoval. She really didnt need to mess with the shape as I told her. The hand massage was ok. She started painting which was no biggie but due to her being rushed there are streaks in the paint, bubbles all over the place, and they have already started chipping. I left about three hours ago and have not done anything to cause this chipping. Regardless three hours is still too soon for this sort of disaster! I will go again BUT ONLY FOR A PEDICURE!!! They also had a pregnant lady waiting for over 45 minutes in a pedi chair before they began her pedicure, they had completly forgotten her!!! read more

this nail salon is terrible, first off the 'receptionist' doesn't greet you, and just points you to the clipboard to sign in and doesn't give you a wait time, when you FINALLY get sat in your seat, you hear the receptionist yelling at her workers across the salon while you're TRYING to relax. My nails looked terrible, I received a french manicure, the white line wasn't straight it was all curvy, it looked like he hacked away at my cuticles my five year old niece could of done a better job. After debating in my car if I should return and complain, I decided I should, so I told them they looked terrible, and he talked to the guy who did my nails. (obviously I don't know what they said it was in Vietnamese) I told him I don't have time to get them re-done, but a new guy took me over anyway and redid them. The second time around they were a little better, but I definitely WOULD NOT recommend this place. Also, they all have their own little caddy boxes, and doesn't even look like they SANITIZE their tools, they just pulled them out. RED CARPET NAILS on Hazard Ave is way better.
