She was able to work my knots on my hip and thigh and I was able to walk normally. The staff members are very welcoming but the quality of the massage was not great. I wanted to try this spot out because the reviews seemed hopeful but I was let down. I got a deep tissue massage hoping to help loosen up some knots in my left trap. I spoke to the nice masseuse plenty of times to ask if she can massage with more pressure which she did not do for whatever reason. Today I came to receive a 30 minute massage as I didn't have much time for an hour but my back was hurting. Everything they started was really good but the manager or whoever was at the desk replied "that's it" when it came to adding a tip. I added what I could at the time but to her it didn't seem enough to her. I've never had this kind of customer service, as they try to guilt you into tipping more. Every massage session i had with TDS has always been very good, no matter whomever was my masseuse. 90 minutes (Swedish) is my normal session per visit which shows the massage quality experience. Therefore my- tip was $25 plus to show my appreciation. I have issue with my leg ever since my 2 Achilles tendon repair, surgery that i had. There are an Asian grocery store/Popeyes/Pho/Liquor store/Filipino food/Hawaiian food/Chinese Boba/Viet Bakery/etc in that small shopping center-fyi. Shell gas station on the corner (Hostetter Rd/Capitol Ave) Mondays & Fridays might be a challenge to find a parking spot because of the grocery shopper days. Therefore, I called for an appointment for my dad. My dad told me the masseuse named Judy, who was extremely helpful and massaged the right spots, he said he had never, ever felt so relief after a massage from anywhere else. He tips Judy $35 dollars because he think it was worth the price (it was fairly low anyways). My partner a d I had experienced 2 inconvenience situations. We will never come back! Waste of time & money. Our first inconvenience experience was, we booked for 2 people massages. Upon our arrival, the masseus named Judy acted surprised that 2 of us showed-up. She was only expecting 1 client. So, we left. With Judy's kindness, she offered us $5 discount pp if we come back. We came back after 1 week and we had good massage experience. Yesterday morning, we called to make another 1.5 hours massage for 2 people in the evening (6:30pm). When we arrived, the masseuse Judy look very tired and was not very accommodating. She mentioned to us that she was already tired and asked if my partner can do just 1 hour, instead of 1.5 hrs. My partner got disappointed because it was a needed massage for his aching back & wrist. He insisted for 1.5 hr massage because thats what we booked it for. During the message, he felt Judy's hand was very, very light on the pressure level, even after my partner had requested to put more pressure (2 times). Finally, my partner gave up on his message after only few minutes and said to Judy, "I can tell you are tired, you may cut-short of my massage to 1 hour only." My masseuse named Sophia misunderstood, she finished my massage for 1 hour only instead of 1.5 hrs. I told Sophia, the change of time was only for my partner but not mine. Due to language barrier, Sophia didnt get it. Both my partner & I got short time without prior notification from the salon owner nor the masseuses. Inspite of this inconvenience, we still give the 2 masseuses some tips because it's Christmas season but in all honesty, they dont desserved it due to lawsy services. We left at 7:30pm and the salon don't close until 10pm. We asked the owner, if they will close early because her employees are already super tired. She said, no. How can they still accept clients if the are only 2 masseuses available and they are both dead bit? 2 unpleasant & inconveniences we experienced are good enough reasons to NOT TO RETURN to this place. read more

I have never had such an intense and painful massage before. When the masseur (I did not ask her name) was massaging my shoulders, it was making a grating noise and I felt I was being torn apart. With a face mask, I was unable to breathe when she was massaging my upper back and it made me nauseous. I also felt my bowel was being squeezed when she was massaging my lower back. While she was massaging my arm/hand, I felt a sharp pain on my finger, and I realized that my 2-day old cut wound reopened that caused bleeding again. When she was massaging my thigh, I gasped with pain, and she finally asked me "Are you OK?". I wondered if any other customers are OK with her massage. You might enjoy it if you like a super-strong massage. For me, it was too much. read more

She held on to my throat while massaging the shoulders with her thumb, Not realizing that she is digging into my throat!! By far the worst massage I ever got. Overall, I would give this place a 3.5 but I have to round up to 4 start because there are no half stars. I made an appointment for 2pm the next day. When I arrived, I was asked if I had any problem areas that needed more work. I really appreciated that because I don't always get asked that question. I was asked about the temperature of the room, which was fine. They would turn on the room heater, if needed. The Swedish massage was pretty good but my problem was the multiple interruptions. She left the room twice to answer the door and left me waiting until she returned. She also took a while to come back with heated towels to remove all the oil. I wish she would have massaged my feet as well. If my massage wasn't interrupted, I would have given a better rating. I will come back again and hopefully, get an uninterrupted hour next time. Great massage- actual deep tissue with Sophia. She has actual experience with massaging, she finds your knots and she gets to work. Its not just her strength but also her endurance/stamina to go for over an hour. TL:DR After a long drive from LA to SJ I needed a massage to relax. Its almost impossible to find someone to massage me, everyone claims to do deep tissue, or shiatsu but really its just some elbow work and not enough pressure. Most massage places with anything Thai in it within SJ, are pretty much advance booked, so good luck and plan ahead. Well I stopped by and went for 90 minutes. Huzzah, here is Tranquility Day Spa, Sophia immediately asked me where I needed attention (mentioned Neck, shoulder, back?) very much so and I asked for hamstrings and the sides of my shin. She immediately goes to work and says its too difficult (and I understand) she suggests to do some back walking to loosen up everything (this works really well). Then she is able to go through my shoulders, and back with her thumbs and elbows (which is perfect). She has the most Vicious neck massage with her thumbs, and was surprised how I didn't make a noise or comment. Honestly it was pretty painful, but the good kind and I am fine the next day. Keep in mind, she will go the extra distance to go full strength and it may not be for everyone. But be communicative as she will lessen her strength. I forget to mention but the back walking did go for about 15 - 20 minutes, about an hour or so just working on my back with her hands and elbows. Great massage, and will be stopping by when I do make my way up again. read more
