I didn't expect that (thought I'd be in the group room), but proceeded to undress, crossing fingers I would be assigned a female massage therapist, as I wasn't quite asked about gender preference. Lying face down, another gentleman entered the room, and began tending to my knots. I kinda panicked in my mind at first but gave it some time. Luckily, he was very skilled, seemingly dedicating every ounce of energy he had in breaking through all these bricks in my back. I was amazed he could make half an hour feel complete in the way that is experienced in a full hour massage. He checked in periodically, asking if the pressure was ok. I said yes -- though it actually hurt like hell -- because I really needed a deep, deep tissue massage. Whew, progress was made. He later met me at the front door, asking if I was okay. I thanked him, tipped $15 cash, and learned his name: ANDY. The name of my late grandfather who I've been seeing in my dreams recently... wild, right?! Anyway, many foot spas are hit and miss. This one's pretty legit so far! As a note, while the music and lighting was pleasant, a soft, sweet aroma would be nice (the bed had a bit of an older smell, that's all).

It really hurt in a good way. He went over tight areas multiple times and somehow always knew when to stop when it was getting a bit too painful. (You can always ask him to go softer, but my neck really hurt and I could feel the knots as he was working on it, so I just took it like a champ). If you're looking to be pampered like you're in a Beverly Hills-style spa, this is not it. But if you're feeling tired from a rough time at work, like I was, and need to get rid of some body tension and relax at a lower price, this is perfect. I did note that the bed had a little bit of an older smell (reminded me of my grandpa), but I did not mind. The massage itself was fine, but the experience afterward left me extremely uncomfortable due to how the tipping situation was handled. At the end of the service, I only had a $10 bill and politely asked if they could make change. It was not because I was unwilling to tip or trying to leave only a $5 tip. I simply needed some of the cash for something else afterward. I was told they did not have change available and was then told I could use Apple Pay instead, which I was willing to do. However, once I mentioned the amount I planned to tip digitally, I was met with the comment, "Oh, the massage is not good enough?" which I found very unprofessional and awkward. At no point did I complain about the massage or say it was not good enough. The interaction made me feel so uncomfortable that I ended up just leaving the full $10 cash tip and leaving. Unfortunately, the way the situation was handled completely changed the tone of the experience for me. I will not be returning, and I truly think staff should handle tipping situations in a more professional and respectful manner.

I brought my cousin, who's visiting from LA, and she also had a less than satisfactory experience with her masseuse. It seems like my cousin had an older gentleman, who I remember not being the best from my previous visit. He's certainly a nice person, but he could benefit from some additional training in massage techniques. My massage was similarly lacking; my therapist kept rubbing in the same direction on my back and didn't really address any of my knots. In the past, the staff seemed to have a better intuition about where to focus, but today felt quite different. I really hope they can improve their training because I would love to come back--this place is so convenient and the staff is generally very friendly. It's just disappointing to have such a mixed experience.
