Ever since I started traveling back and forth to Santa Clara, I've been so glad I found this place. The facility is very clean and well-maintained. All of the sheets are freshly pressed, sanitized, and individually packaged for each room. They even provide shoe covers before you enter, which shows their attention to cleanliness and hygiene. I've had several massages here and have not been disappointed with any of them. i have tried their cupping, gua sha, callus removal, or foot scrub services, all are wonderful. My mom has also enjoyed coming here, especially after spending months caring for my dad. It has been a great place for both of us to relax and recharge. Another thing I appreciate is their availability--they are usually able to accommodate us with same-day appointments whenever we call. This is the second time my girlfriend and I visited this massage spa. While the first time was surprisingly good given the price point, the second time left us with a bad taste in our mouths. First and most important of all, my girlfriend's masseuse changed halfway through the massage without letting us know. While I acknowledge that this does happen at massage spas, what is unacceptable to me was the fact that her masseuse changed from a woman to a man. We were getting a full body massage, so we were only wearing our underwear, and part of the massage had our underwear pulled down halfway so they can massage our butt. As anyone can imagine, this could cause anyone to be uncomfortable when their masseuse was changed to a different gender while being more than half naked. Secondly, my massage was less than subpar. I asked for no facial yet I received one. Fine, I'll deal with it. As I was paying and leaving a tip (15%), which I thought was more than fair given i didn't particularly enjoy my massage and my girlfriend's masseuse changed halfway. However, I was told that 15% was too little and is only applicable at restaurant and was asked to tip at least $20 per person, which would equate to 25% tip. If the massage was good and our privacy was respected, then I'm more than happy to tip that much. However, given our experience, this felt more like a scam. My boyfriend and I recently visited this massage business for the third time, and unfortunately, this experience ensured we will never return. One of our concerns actually started during a previous visit. My boyfriend's massage appeared to begin with a female therapist, but at some point during the session, it seems he may have been switched to a male therapist without being informed. He did not realize this until after the massage was over. We recently saw another review from a customer describing a very similar experience, which made us even more concerned. Whether intentional or not, clients should always be informed if there is a change in therapists during their appointment. On our most recent visit, my boyfriend was satisfied with his massage, but I was not. My therapist spent very little time actually massaging me. Instead, much of the session consisted of stretching, pushing, and repositioning my body. I left feeling like I did not receive the quality massage service that I paid for. What happened afterward was even more disappointing. While paying, my boyfriend tipped his therapist because he was happy with the service he received. I chose not to tip because I was genuinely unsatisfied with my experience. Tips are optional and should be based on the quality of service provided. The front desk employee, Amy, repeatedly pressured my boyfriend to leave a tip for both therapists. Even after he explained that he was only tipping the therapist who provided the service he was happy with, she continued insisting that he tip both. Amy and the therapist then began going back and forth in their language while looking at him and discussing the situation. Although we could not understand exactly what was being said, it was obvious they were upset about the tip and directing their frustration toward him. This made the entire situation extremely uncomfortable, awkward, and unprofessional. No customer should ever feel pressured, guilt-tripped, or confronted over an optional tip. Instead of respecting our decision, Amy continued saying things like "no good" and repeatedly criticized the situation because I chose not to tip. The pressure continued even after my boyfriend had already tipped his own therapist. We felt harassed over something that should have been entirely our choice. To make matters worse, during our massage we could hear loud and inappropriate noises coming from another room involving other clients, which created a very uncomfortable and unprofessional atmosphere. The pressure for tips, the public confrontation, the comments about the tip amount, the staff speaking back and forth while staring at my boyfriend, and ultimately being told not to come back created one of the most uncomfortable customer service experiences we have ever had. We came here multiple times wanting to support this business, but after this experience, we will not be returning and cannot recommend it to others. read more

They start you off with a ginger, milk, salt, and lemon foot soak and add hot stones to the massage for free. Took a quick 30 mins foot massage here and they were prompt to get us set up. Everything was good for the most part except the lady who gave my massage probably had some garlic for lunch so her breath was a bit strong. I didn't want to complain but without that, it would have been a much more relaxing experience. The massage itself was good.. great pressure and good time spent. I used to come here pretty regularly a couple years ago and this "spa" has changed a lot, not for the better unfortunately. They used to do foot massages which apparently are not available anymore despite the name. I got a body massage today which is priced at $40 for 60 mins. My massage was just ok and the ambiance was subpar. After my massage was over I was offered a tiny cup of lukewarm water and that was it. It also seems like their massage styles are not consistent because my mom got the same massage a couple of weeks ago and she said they used hot stones for her which they did not do for me. However they lack customer service as they took payment for service prior to the actual service and demanded tips. She has excellent technique and asked if I had any areas to emphasize during the massage. I had sore legs so she did a great job relieving the soreness. I'm not one to leave scathing reviews (or really leave reviews at all) but my experience today warranted some speaking out about. I'm not the kind of person to get caught up in bad experiences with the service industry since we've all been there and know how hard working in that industry can be sometimes. That being said, I'm not sure if I can, in good conscience, recommend anyone come here. First off, from one I understand, a lot of "cheap" places like this get by on keeping their prices so low by not paying their therapists wages--maybe thats why there's reviews where people have been complaining about being asked for a bigger tip. I'm not saying necessarily that Seoul Foot Spa is one of those places, but it's just a reality of the industry worth bearing in mind, especially when the prices seem uncharacteristically low. I'm not sure at all if my massage therapist today was at all qualified to be doing what she was doing. She seemed to be improvising a lot of the time and not really know what she was doing. I've had other massages before that have been a lot more methodical; they do the same thing on either side of the body. The therapist I had would do wildly different things on each side, especially towards the end when it became clear she couldn't be bothered anymore. Despite having no claim to knowledge of pressure points or massage therapy etc., it did feel like there were times when she would exert pressure on my body in ways that seemed...not right. (I don't know, it's just one of those things where you can intuitively tell between good pain and bad pain.) Additionally, she left the room several times, for up to 5 minutes at a time. She would just disappear without a word and be gone and then come back a while later. She picked up the phone twice during the session. And when I got out, I realized the session was 50 min out of the 60 that had been paid for. Most of these things are trivial in and of themselves, but altogether just struck me as being a little unprofessional to say the least. I found myself questioning a couple of times whether or not my therapist was actually properly certified. Maybe that's harsh, I dunno. I think these bad reviews are bogus. The ambiance was quite dim, and I do not see a reason for decorations in a massage area when your eyes will be closed the entire time. My mom bought the ten set of coupons and I had a full body massage for the equivalent of $30 which is a great deal. A deep tissue full body at the Hyatt is $150 and more or less of the same quality. It was very relaxing. If you don't want them to talk to you just ask them not to. Another consideration is that most of the workers are Chinese. In Chinese culture massages are seen as a method of healing which can benefit you for a much longer time than just a day. The masseuses are trained in Zhang Yi, otherwise known as Chinese medicine. For over an hour of full body muscular therapy they only charge one coupon ($20) so hell yeah you need to leave a good tip. read more

I had just been to this foot spa recently and it was OK and not that great. I have experienced much better foot spa in santaclara, sunnyvale area like dynasty, nirvana etc. But what i disliked the most is that the massager kept demanding/nagging for more tips. The massager was telling that people usually give around 10-15$ as tips and how come you give me just 5$!..Amazing part is that he was demanding this infront of the entire staff and people were kind of supporting him. How ridiculous it is to demand so much of tip, for a 20$ massage with 5$ of coupon discount!!. I have never experienced this type of tip demanding anywhere in US in my whole life. The worst massage experience I've had. The place has no decorations. All the other massage places I've been to had the lights dimmed. This place had bright lights, white walls, and no decorations. The massage experience was horrible. The person massage me would leave in the middle of my massage and not come back until 5 mins later, I can hear him or his friend texting on the phone, they kept on talking during the massage, and never listened to any requests. I read some reviewers complain about front desk guy asking for more than 20% tip. I did not have that experience. You should believe the bad reviews. I didn't at first because people can be harsh especially when it's comes to getting a massage. But let me tell you, IT'S BAD. We just left a few minutes ago. My husband and I wanted to get a foot massage but apparently if you want the foot massage you have to purchase their Combo which is 30 min foot and 60 min body. It is the most expensive massage on the list. We chose to just get the 60 min body for $40 each. Here's where it starts off awkward. Most places that we have been to ask for payment and tip after the massage. We paid of course but they didn't start my husband's massage until he added a tip. Correct me if I'm wrong but shouldn't tips be based on level of service? The service hasn't even started and they were asking for a tip. He said we would give cash, which is what we normally do anywhere else, when we were done but to start his massage he gave in and said to put in $4. He only did this to get his massage started. My masseur didn't really ask me what kind of pressure I wanted or if I was ok with the pressure, which was either too light or too intense at certain points during the massage. She even left a few times during the "hour". My husband's masseur did the same thing and left a couple times. In total we only got a 45 min massage each. To top it off when we were leaving I gave the cash tip that we thought was fair for the service we got - $14 ($7 each is more than 15% of the cost of each massage). One of the masseur gave us a mean ass look and smacked her lips then she started saying something in her language. They were demanding I give them more. I HAD to give another $10. So total tip was $24 which is $12 each. Let's do the math here - what is 25% of $40? $10.... so basically they demanded a 25% tip for shitty service and a sorry ass attitude. Do yourself a favor and turn away. There are 2 other foot spas on that same side of El Camino that are literally down the street. One is in the same plaza called Amazing Foot Spa. read more

Although I was very happy with the massage, it was not a totally great experience. While my friend and I had our massages in the same room, the massage therapists were talking to each other and laughing. Although they were quiet, I felt it was unprofessional.
