The deep tissue is definitely not your "relax and fall asleep" kind of massage -- it's more of a true deep tissue massage where she really gets in there and works out the knots. I walked in carrying a ton of tension and walked out feeling like my shoulders had finally unclenched for the first time in forever! What's crazy is she's tiny, but so strong and relentless when it comes to getting those knots out. Don't let the size fool you -- she will find every tight muscle you didn't even know you had... and probably a few you were hoping she wouldn't find. You can remove as much or as little clothing as you like. I laid down on the comfortable table and waited for my masseuse. You can choose a male or female masseuse when you make your appointment. Laura came in and described what she was going to do. She asked if I had any areas on my body that were bothering me. I let her know my low back is an ongoing issue. I really appreciated that she asked me that and how much pressure I would like for the massage. I have to say, this was one of the best massages I have ever had. She did a combo of deep tissue and Swedish massage all over my body and also focused more on my low back. The hot stones felt really good and the heat level was just right. Parking is fine with three spots in front of the business and more areas to park on the sides. It did not seem like a busy area and parking does not seem to be an issue here. Amanda asked me if there were any areas she should focus on and also let me know I could let her know if I needed her to adjust the pressure. I've been getting massages in the San Jose area for years and Amanda is the first masseuse to ever ask me those questions. They also did a layer of heated towels between the sheet and the blanket that was magical and again, not something we've had done in other massage locations. I booked a deep tissue w/ Tammy based on a few reviews recommending her & she was open last minute but now I'm questioning those reviews. I'm only giving 2 stars because she was nice & HONEST. When she left me to change she mentioned next time she would recommend someone else. It didn't settle right with me so when she came back I asked why & she said they are better at deep tissue. I told her I was fine changing therapist if it meant getting what I booked but she said it's ok she would do it this time. That should have been my que! Although friendly & talkative, she felt like she was just rubbing lotion on my body, not massaging & definitely no technique or flow at all. When I asked her to add pressure she dug her elbow down my spine & traps without an actual technique to get the right the spots. The crazy part was she didn't massage my neck, shoulders or feet (all the areas I carry tension) at all then asked me to turn over so I thought maybe then she would massage my feet & neck but nope, gave me a quick 60 second pat down after me turning over & it was done. I walked in at 430 on the dot to check in, they walked me to the room, after changing I laid there for at least 5+ minutes before she came in & she left in the middle of my massage for about 5mins (she said she was turning on the steam room for me, but I didn't book or have time after my massage so they should have asked in advance) and my massage ended at 535. So pretty sure she shorted me at least 10mins of my 1hr massage. When I walked out to pay, they asked if I wanted to leave a tip, despite the poor massage & STILL charging me for a deep tissue when I didn't get one I still tipped 10% (which should be for good service not every service in my opinion). Tammy & the woman charging my card leaned over to see how much I tipped & they both made a comment & walked away. I was still standing there. Another customer walked in & the woman came back out & I said "hi am I done, did the payment process" and she responded oh yeah you're done. How do you just walk away after seeing a tip you didn't like? I wish I wouldn't have left anything after that. Tammy did recommend William so I'm considering coming back & trying him but after the payment experience I'm questioning.
