Animal sanctuary and thrift store benefiting the animals! We recently bought new towels and pillows so I searched on Yelp for a local animal shelter to donate our used towels and pillows too. Shelters use them in the crates and pens to keep animals warm! I found tranquil trail and was happy to see they were close to our house and open on Sundays. I didn't even realize it was a thrift store I arrived with my donation. The store has both new and used items and proceeds benefit the sanctuary. Love it!! Oh and how could I forget, they have a ton of adorable bunnies in the back :) Thanks to the staff for masking and keeping us all safe!!! read more

I volunteered here last weekend as part of a Helping Hands meet up group. I was so impressed with this facility! It's so colorful and clean and actually cheery. I learned so much about bunnies. They are intelligent beings that like things a certain way, so much that each little playpen is mapped out. When we were cleaning each area out, we knew exactly how to put things back the way things were so the bunnies didn't "riot" and throw things around in protest. Most of the bunnies are litter box trained. Carrots are not exactly healthy for them to eat all the time since they are like candy to them and too high in carbs for them. The hay that they eat helps trim back their teeth since they constantly grow. There was a play area for the bunnies so every few hours, the bunnies got a turn to run around. They are not meant to be caged all the time. I learned that they are meant to be free in the house and roam free with the rest of the family. This sanctuary is very careful about adoptions. They never let people adopt in the same day because they want people to know what they are getting into. There is a year long wait list to accept bunnies from families who cannot handle raising them on their own. This facility also sometimes boards bunnies as well. I really loved volunteering here though and would not hesitate to do it again. read more

This place is amazing! My bf and I came here with the intention of donating some paper towels and vinegar but I was so surprised with this place! They have a lot of cute stuff for us "bunny girls", and they also have a lot of stuff from food to toys for your bunny! The place is clean, the people are really nice and friendly, their bunnies are adorable too! They said they'll help with cutting your bunny's nails for FREE and they also provide a boarding service for your bunny (about $20/day if I'm not mistaken, make sure to ask them about this) I will definitely be coming back here next time to buy some snacks for my bunny! And I'm planning to adopt one of their bunnies once I get my bunny fixed! Thank you for being a good home for all those bunnies, I love this place so much! read more

My teenage children and I went to Tranquility Trail today and were astounded by the beautiful and colorful way the rabbits are homed in the facility. Amazing place! This rabbit sanctuary has dozens of rabbits in open cages where they can be adopted. My grandchildren come here and clean their rabbit's cage, feed him, give him lots of love! I've never seen a place like this! A great learning experience! The cages are kept very clean and each "owner" decorates their rabbit's cage!!! I love that they rescue bunnies that are surrendered and eventually re-home them. It's a wonderful thing. However, it's extremely dangerous to give people false information on rabbit behaviors. Rabbits, like dogs and cats have different personalities. Rabbits are very social, loving creatures. Many of them love to be cuddled, to show affection and like a good neck scratching. Some do not--just like with any animal. The woman who was working that day was very ignorant with her lack of knowledge of rabbits. We were told they don't make good emotional support animals, even though numerous of veterinarians and psychologist say otherwise. She also said they don't like to be cuddled--again, some do and some don't. My spouse and I personally went there to seek further knowledge and recommendations on where we could go to adopt a rabbit. Instead, we were met with snootiness and a condescending attitude because she knew better. By the way, this place does not allow adoptions! read more

Bunnies, bunnies everywhere bunny. My son and I have started to volunteer here and not having grown up with pets I don't know who is more shy- me or the bunnies. I'm ecstatic to share though that I've gotten over my initial discomfort and petted a few of the bunnies!!!! Tranquility Trail is a very peaceful and low key place. The moment you open the door there is soft music playing and you can take your time cleaning out the bunny cages. My son and I like to talk and play with the bunnies while we clean and we also enjoy talking to the other regular volunteers there. Bunnies really do have their own personalities as I'm learning. It would make a lot of sense but when most of the bunnies are kept in small cages, there isn't a lot of room to jump (get the pun?) for joy! This is also a great place to teach litte ones about love and care in a non intimidating environment. And hands down the best place to adopt a bunny. Yelp has incredible search engine mojo so I hope any time someone does a search for bunny info, my reviews on Tranquility Trail pops right up. Oh, psst, Tranquility Trail is plenty busy on weekends with volunteers but could use some more volunteers during the week. I find it very relaxing in there. If I was a bunny in a shelter, waiting for a forever home, I would want to be a bunny in this shelter. There is no question that all the rabbits are deeply loved and cared for here. The staff and volunteers are pleasant and friendly to all who come in the doors. One is welcome to walk through the facility, which is always so clean, and any questions are answered. I appreciate that they have strict guidelines for adopting a rabbit. They want to be absolutely certain the rabbits will be going to the best homes possible. They couldn't take the domestic rabbit that I found loose and abandoned in my neighborhood, because they were chock full. HOWEVER they gave me free donated supplies and more information and so much literature and have been there every step of the way as I care for a rabbit... that I randomly found... that had babies suddenly. I came for the first time this afternoon and I know it will not be my last! I have two young rabbits that I have been struggling to trim their nails. I heard that they would do it for free and that they have an amazing selection of rabbit toys, food, treats and so much more. I found this place by surprise, I was actually thrift store shopping and then was pleasantly surprised to see bunnies everywhere! I had a pet bunny for 10years and it warmed my heart to see so many having a great dwelling. Everyone working was kind and took time to talk to me about each of the bunnies. This place is better than words can describe. They give the best care that a bunny can get. They allow you to visit with all of the bunnies (and if you get there at a good time you can help pass out daily treats) and they know each bunny and their personality like their own pet. Who does not like playing with furry little creatures. I started volunteering at this place today & it is just awesome on what they do for these special little creatures [Rabbits]. In fact they are expanding next door to help get the "Backyard Bunnies that they rescued some help. They also have several events coming up: August 28th a Bunny Baby Shower for those that were rescued from the Backyard Bunnies rescue, A Huge Yard Sale on October 15 and 16th call for directions, and a Holiday Pet Festival on December 4th at West World. While they may do great work for the rabbits, they need to work on their relationships with their donors...it's generally poor practice to chastise someone who was trying to make a donation for a silent auction fundraiser and in the SAME sentence then tell them what they owe for the items they bid on. Not a great way to get donations, but, it would seem that they are only concerned with their rich donors. When. Replied back to their message that I would pass on the items and would look to support my local rescues they then proceeded to send me another chastising message and then blocked me from responding to that message and blocked me from their Facebook page. It must be nice to be a nonprofit and just decide to dismiss people who have been past donors. read more

This place is excellent! It's a bunny supply store as well as a rescue/safe haven for other bunnies. We are presently fostering a bunny from them and they have been SO helpful. They take great care of their rabbits, you can tell that the owner and employees/volunteers really love these rabbits and will do eveything they came to ensure they are well taken care of whle they are at the sanctuary as well as after they have been adopted. My daughter was going to volunteer there. I received an email to fill out and had questions. so we dropped by to get my questions answered and get started. I mean the place is really nice. I'm passionate about bunnies so naturally I love that place. They're really good at working with animals but not really with people. Like I had a bad experience there once and the owner, I guess that's who it was, acted like it was my fault for having a bad experience rather than seeing what she could do to remedy it. Just totally on the defensive. She just came at me so aggressively. So I just felt like mentally and emotionally that was a little too toxic of an environment for me personally. So my advice is, if you have kids that wanna learn about rabbits and stuff, great place to take them, just be careful.. read more

They also carry ox bow and other great products. Toys littler everything you need for your fur baby. The rescue presents itself to be very friendly. The Sanctuary is very clean, peaceful for the bunnies, nice music and a great concept . Proceed with caution especially with young children. I took my granddaughter there for her " first" school service project and introduction to volunteering .She chose the bunny sanctuary and was excited about volunteering. We attended the orientation and proceeded to sign up for the hours she needed . On our last visit there, while my granddaughter was doing her duties, I happened to asked ONE question to a volunteer (Denise) and was chastised for not remembering "what was told in orientation". (excuse me) She even went to the pens after my granddaughter had completed cleaning them and proceeded looking for mistakes. She would then go and "tattle" to the co-owner/volunteer (Kelly). Not once did she discuss what she perceived to be wrong in the cleaning, but displayed at attitude of "I'm going to get you". I felt that it is the expectation of the Sanctuary that you should not forget "every single word" said in orientation because if you do...you will be criticized if you ask a question or happen to forget a step in the process. At the end of our 1 1/2 hour service I was looking at the calendar for a time to come back and complete my granddaughter's service hour she had left. It was then that Kelly confronted us with Denise's report. This was full of criticism delivered in a very condescending way.. Contempt is the word that comes to mind. I did not appreciate the treatment nor the delivery style. She informed us we could not come back to complete my granddaughters remaining 1 hour of service because I asked a question and supposedly made a mistake! My granddaughter did fine, but she too must get punished and not return! A volunteer organization should encourage and nurture young volunteers and not make the first attempt of community service negative and a bitter experience. Outside of the mandatory orientation, questions should be welcomed and encouraged, not be punitive. This would have made it a very positive experience. I have volunteered for several organizations and have been a member of many Boards. Never in my professional or personal life have I had such a horrific experience. The word is out to pass on the opportunity to volunteer at the Tranquility Trail Animal Sanctuary. There are many organizations that would love to make the first experience for a young volunteer one that will be positive and encourage further community service. read more
