I have driven by Transfer at least 2000 times. Why did it take decades for me to walk in the door? Tonight is jazz night, and it feels like I walked into cafe in New York City. Holy moly, amazing sideline to a killer ensemble and patrons out of central casting for a gritty New York drama. Their Blood Orange Negroni was like a tonic after a night of Pinot Grigio. Pizza looks amazing, service is impeccable. Why oh why has it taken me so long to come here?!

Best pizza in the Walkers Point/ Bay View area!! This has been my go to take out spot since moving to the neighborhood. Super easy online ordering, and prompt pickup at the side entrance always makes it a smooth transition from restaurant to home. Now the pizza itself.... delicious! That solid combo of a crunchy/ soft crust with a nice crisp bottom is great! I consistently get the Hawaiian and have a hard time keeping leftovers for long (if at all).

1st time trying based upon reviews. Not impressed! 1.Waited an extra 20 mins to pick up my takeout because they burnt my pizza which they acknowledged prior. 2. Dedicated take out parking was a log jam because people were squatting when their pizzas weren't ready yet. Although when I arrived at my dedicated pick up time, they asked me not to park when I arrived. 3. Most importantly, not impressed with the overall taste, the crust, the sauce, none of it. I was expecting a lot more based on the reviews and it fell flat in every way. Maybe it was rushed because they had to replace it, but I won't be returning much better options in Milwaukee for sure.

We stopped by Transfer for an early Valentine's Day dinner and to use our City Tin coaster! We were able to be seated right away and they were just using the front part of the restaurant. It is such a nice environment and the staff is so friendly and on top of things. They even were able to hook us up with a special topping they don't normally have. My reason for not giving it 5 stars is that I think the pizza just might not be my style of pizza. I never gravitate toward it for some reason, but I know other people really enjoy it! The staff and environment are really great!

Visited friends in Milwaukee and they suggested this spot. Lots of room for seating, cute diner style bar area. We didn't have any drinks at this stop but looked like a full bar. I ordered a classic pepperoni pizza but my two friends were vegetarians and there were tons of options. Pizza was so good, perfectly cooked crust and flavorful toppings. This could be fun a spot for friends or family. Kid friendly!

Pie for pie the best za in the city! Transfer has been a staple in the MKE pizza scene for decades, and for good reason. They have an excellent variety of pizza options, but you must try one of their garlic sauce pizzas! 2 of our favorites are the Garlic Special: garlic cream sauce, cheese, sausage, mushrooms Or Garlic Lovers: garlic cream sauce, cheese, pepperoni, sausage You really can't go wrong with any pizza you order, although I will say the dill lacked any hint of dill flavor, so that was disappointing. The service is great, very attentive and helpful navigating the menu. Also fun: They have live jazz music every Thursday! Most pizza spots are made to carry out, but Transfer has created a warm and inviting space to dine in on some tasty za!

Honestly some of the best pizza in Milwaukee. Great place to hang out with a group! I would definitely go back!

A scrumptious Sunday evening meal! Hubby and I haven't been here in what feels like 5+ years so when someone reminded us of this gem we knew we had to go on our next date night. Such a cute atmosphere. We got a little two top but I'm determined to return at sit at the bar, it's such a vibe. I got the pear martini and would absolutely get it again, 9/10, sweet and refreshing which is exactly what I needed on this summer evening. We started with the Bruschetta, just the basic one, and boy was the flavor awesome!! For pizza, we opted for a large Diavola and added onion (because I'm obsessed w onions). And it was very good! I'd give it a 7.5/10. I feel like there's gotta be better pizzas on the menu but it's so hard to chose. My husband had the idea of a sampler pizza where you get a quarter of all different pizzas because it's honestly so hard to just chose one or two. We had 2 slices to take home (perks of ordering 1 large), and I will get to enjoy them for my lunch on Monday - lucky me!!

Food came out super fast. Was pretty good. They have nightly deals. Our waiter was a little pushy and seemed short with us.

I always point people to this spot when they ask where my favorite pizza is. I love the unique combinations that they come up with. We got two pizzas and some spinach artichoke dip. Our server had a lot of energy and was very attentive. We made a reservation on a Thursday and I'm glad we did because the place was poppin. There was live music, too.

I called ahead to make sure they had room, and we arrived around 6:30 p.m. Food: We started with a couple of beers, and I also ordered one of their specialty cocktails, the Girl in the Neon Moon. I think of it as a Miller High Life Summer Shandy, and it was very tasty. For dinner, we ordered the Street Corn, a Double Palomino Burger, and the Hot Fried Chicken Sandwich. The Street Corn was just okay. I'm used to street corn being roasted, and their version was sautéed. In my opinion, roasted or cast-iron-charred corn delivers much better flavor. The burger was excellent. They nailed the medium-rare temperature, the patties had great flavor, and everything arrived hot. The toppings added great texture, although the bun struggled to keep up with all of the delicious beef juices. The Hot Fried Chicken Sandwich was nothing short of amazing. They use chicken thighs instead of breasts, which are almost always more flavorful. The chicken was lightly battered and perfectly crispy. The pickles and mayo were a great complement. I ordered the hot sauce on the side and mixed a little into the mayo, which turned out to be the perfect choice. The fries were also very good. My wife said she'd come back just for another order of those. The portions were generous, and we ended up enjoying another meal from the leftovers the next day. Service: Several different servers took care of us throughout the evening. We were seated quickly, water and menus arrived right away, drinks followed shortly after, and all of the food came out hot. Everyone was efficient and helpful, but we never really connected with any of them. The restaurant was only about half full, so I don't think they were simply too busy. It wasn't a deal breaker, but it's always nice when the service includes just a little conversation along with taking care of the essentials. Atmosphere: It's a neighborhood corner bar serving surprisingly good food. The bar itself is attractive, with oversized, comfortable bar stools. The dining area is simple but comfortable, with plenty of space between the tables, and the noise level made it easy to carry on a conversation. We're really glad we stopped in and would happily come back. Next time, I'd skip the Street Corn and order the Brussels sprouts instead, but I'd keep everything else exactly the same.

They tell you on the menu that it will take an hour to prepare. Do NOT do what we did at my table and select something else. Our food took an hour to arrive ANYWAY. Wish I had the burek, because my chicken was disappointing. They give you five little slices of rye bread (for four people) and one pad of whipped butter while you're waiting. The appetizer came out 20 minutes later. The restaurant was a neat tribute to times gone by. The restauranteur revitalized a former Schlitz tavern, and preserved the Shlitz branding. You'll see the Schlitz globe on the spire of the building's exterior, and inside you'll see an oversized, cool ,retro Schlitz pendant light fixture. The tabletops are old school retro Formica, complete with metal edging. There was a large painting on masonite next to our table. The vibe is something I can appreciate. The service was warm, charming, and patient. The server offered recommendations, and told us a little bit about each dish. One of the kitchen staff came out to greet us and see how we felt about our meals. The food. Okay, again, it was just not my thing. For an appetizer we had the stuffed grape leaves--I've eaten these many times in my life. These were as good as any, and one of my favorite things to eat in a Serbian restaurant. We each had something different--one of us had eggplant, another stuffed, peppers, another the goulash, and I had chicken breasts in paprika sauce with a small side of rice. Everything is stuffed with rice. Everything. Everyone seemed to enjoy their food enough. I came in starved, having not eaten anything all day, and it was after 8 when our food came out. I was not a fan of my chicken dish--chicken prepared with the bones in -AND- the skin on (it seemed slimy to me). It was that sliding-off-the-bone slimy, that most people describe as "juicy." The flavor was onion-y and something that my palate processed as sour--and I tasted this all evening. This is not a dis to the restaurant. I think if you like this type of food, you can enjoy a good meal here. Dishes were about $28 on average. At that price point, I'd rather enjoy something else. Give it a shot. The service was impeccable.

We reviewed the menu while we waiting for seating, which took far longer than we wanted, more than 30 minutes standing in the cramped lobby area with a bunch of other people. Hats off to their host for being friendly and even a little entertaining and I like that you can order coffee at the register area and drink it while you wait. Too bad you can't get a cocktail out there. The menu sounded great and we were ravenous so we were excited to order. By the time we were seated we were limited to about 40 minutes to get to a ticketed event, all in. I told that to our waitress so she could pace the meal accordingly. While I understand that she can't control the kitchen time, I don't think she showed any expediency or attention to my statement. Spoiler alert - we were late. Two of us ordered the biscuits to start with jam. I was happy to try them and they were good. My coffee based martini hit the spot, but it was spilled a little when it hit the table and our server didn't say anything or wipe it off. My mom liked her bloody Mary and it was decent. When our food came I was immediately disappointed by the appearance. My chilaquiles looked like they had sat under a heat lamp for ages - the egg was dried and over firm. My chips were spicy, but 100% soggy and nasty. My black beans were - meh. Not a good dish overall. My mom actually didn't find fault with her Honeypie Benedict. I tried the hollandaise and it was fine. My cousin did not enjoy her Hopple Popple skillet at all. (Potatoes, bacon, caramelized onion, mushroom, bell pepper, cheddar, two scrambled farm eggs) She found it difficult to find any egg, as it was apparently shrunk into tiny bits. The potatoes were like fries and it was overall bland. Not a winner. We certainly won't be back. The dishes don't live up to the interesting descriptions of them and the hype seems to be from an earlier, better time for this restaurant.

Then we ordered the Chili Crisp Deviled Eggs (comes with two pieces), Crispy Thai-Style Oyster Mushrooms, Cappelletti, Slow-braised Bison Cheek, Cha Ca La Vong (Catfish), and the Wood-fired Bavette Steak. Where do I begin? First off, everything was fantastic! Delicious, creative, and memorable. Some dishes even had us ordering seconds! First the Chili Crisp Deviled Eggs: so creamy! We ended up ordering another plate of them (four orders) because one wasn't enough for the four of us. The Crispy Thai-Style Oyster Mushroom: insanely seasoned! It was crispy and the kick of the Thai chili peppers, made it our tables favorite (we ordered another plate of this)! The bits of crunch rice mixed in was also a pleasant surprise. The bits of green beans and cucumber was a nice way to cool the kick of the spices. The Slow-braised Bison Cheek: It was very interesting. Very soft and when paired with the polenta cake, mozzarella, and carrot, it tasted amazing. Cha Ca La Vong (Catfish): Also very interesting. It tastes very similar to a Vietnamese catfish soup! The pineapple fish sauce paired amazing with the glass noodles. The only complaint I have about this dish, was that the glass noodles weren't fully cooked, so they were a bit hard. The Wood-fired Bavette Steak: My god, this was amazing! It was perfectly cooked, the dark chocolate bordelaise paired with the mushrooms and steak was incredible. Like I said, everything was amazing!
