The only good thing was the thin crust that was nice and crispy. All downhill from there. The toilet had not been cleaned in a long time which says a lot about the potential cleanliness of the kitchen. The photo I posted hangs outside the bathroom which you can judge for yourself how welcoming that is. It actually matched the waitress who was also very unwelcoming and completely ignored me when I waited at the window to pay because she was too busy on her phone. I stopped in for take out on a Friday around 4:30. I had sampled their pizza once before and wanted to try it again for myself. I ordered the Cataro's special (14") and some pizza bread. I did call ahead to i had wait for about 30 minutes. The lady helping me was friendly. The take out area is pretty bare so no place to sit. I returned to pick my order which was on time. I had to drive 30 minutes before I could eat it. That is a long 30 minutes when your smelling hot Pizza. First of all they packaged it great. No cheese sticking to foil or a mess. The crust is thin and crispy and held up great even for 30 minutes under foil in a bag. Excellent taste. Full of flavor. Plenty of toppings. Checked this place out on a Friday around 5:00pm. The parking lot is pretty small and the dining space is small and dated. It seems like they probably do a lot of carry out pizzas because the dining room was empty when my party of three grabbed a table. Our server was really nice. We ordered some fries, cheesy bread, a small cheese pizza and a large sausage and onion pizza. The fries and bread came out pretty quickly and were tasty. The pizza came out shortly after and the crust is thin and crisp. There was sausage in each bite and it was an all around good pizza. The bill, including all of the food, a soda and a beer came out to around $50.00, not including tip, so it wasn't too expensive either. This place is cash only so know that going in. I grew up about 3 miles from here. My wife and I drove by this place about once a month and always say we're going to try it. We finally tried it abs it was amazing. Super small dining room and parking lot. We started with an order of outstanding garlic bread and had a 14" thin crust sausage and pepperoni with half onions and half fresh mushrooms. The pizza was fantastic. Super thin crust that was crisp even on the center pieces. The flavor was also great with a touch of heat in the sausage. Great job!! read more

I have lived in west allis for around 8 years and I have never tried this once. That was the biggest disservice I could commit. I finally try it and boom new favorite pizza spot. We got a pan pizza, mozzarella sticks, and two orders of garlic bread and our total was $30. Anywhere else including Pizza Hut would be over $40. The quality was fresh and very high. The cheese had an amazingly fresh pull, the pepperoni had great and subtle flavor. The mozzarella sticks were my daughters favorite and got mad when they were gone until she realized she ate them all. We will be back... tomorrow.... Seriously. I was looking for a place for dinner saw the pizza looked amazing and decided to give it a chance. God was I right. Garlic bread was SEASONED!! For $4 I was very happy. We ordered a deep dish pizza for my birthday and I must say I wish I had ordered food elsewhere. Crust had no flavor. Cheap ingredients. We got a large half pepperoni half deluxe. The cheese tasted cheap and the sausage was one of the worst I've had on a pizza. So disappointing because it smelled like very authentic pizza in the restaurant. We had leftovers. The pizza is pretty darn good. It's not fantastic, but it is more flavorful than most pizzas I have found in the Milwaukee area. The problem is that they don't accept credit cards. You may find yourself running to the nearest ATM if you don't have cash or your checkbook with you when you place an order for delivery or eat there. read more

This joint has the best thin crust pizza in the area, but you have to ask for it to be "extra crispy" or it will be too soft. The appetizer sampler is also very good and has nice variety. It is usually about $10 cheaper to pick up the order than to have it delivered for us - not sure why it's that big of a gap. A large pizza and the appetizers comes out to about $35 for pick up. The large pizza is good sized and the appetizers are pretty abundant, so that order can easily feed 2-4 adults comfortably. read more

Without embellishing too much at all...this was the worst meal that I have ever eaten. We were on our way into Milwaukee the night before we ran Tough Mudder the following day. We were looking for an old school Italian place to carbo load before the race at a reasonable price. Yelp had 6 reviews and all were at least pretty good. Upon entering Cataro's, the cobblestone front was nice and the smell was authentic Italian. Then we walked in.....We were met by an empty restaurant at 6pm on a Friday night that had a small college cafeteria feel to it with lighting that is whatever is less than 25 watt bulbs. We should have walked out. Bad lighting later shed some light on the awful food experience. They didnt want you to see what you were eating. Makes complete sense. The next sign that we needed to go was the menu. 1970's paper font with about 20 items. The pasta and the pasta with meat were the same price....$9.75 without an upcharge. We heard the bell ring from the kitchen and our salad soon came out. The salad was out of a bag with an abundance of wishbone Italian dressing and mozzerella cheese on top. Then 15 minutes later, the bell rang again. Our ginormous plate of pasta came out. The pasta was overcooked and fell apart as we put our fork into it. The sauce covered every square inch of pasta and was an interesting color of dark brown. 2 small meatballs were on top that were certainly uneatable. I probably ate 6 partial fork fulls before I couldn't stomach it anymore. On my way to the hotel, I called home and spoke to my wife about the experience. She asked me if I was going to be sick from the meal. I responded not at that point, but the opportunity was certainly present. The awful taste of that pasta and sauce lingered on my taste buds until the next morning. I brushed, flossed, mouthwashed, ate apples and nothing got it out. In hindsight, it was the lowlight of our trip and quite and experience. One that I wont forget. I can only hope that I sway someone to not eat here. Ordered 14" thin crust with sausage cheese onion green peppers on one side and the same minus green peppers + mushrooms and pepperoni on the other side. Sausage and cheese was skimpy at best, crust did not look burnt but was hard to chew. Sauce was good tasting. Had Mug Root Beer that tasted somewhat flat. The pizza ended up being $23, which seemed expensive for what we got. I make pizza at home that has more of what I want in a pizza. read more
