Absolutely a blast! We visited Trapped Escape Room on a whim during a weekend outing, and it turned out to be the highlight of our day! From the moment we walked in, the staff was welcoming, funny, and fully committed to the immersive experience. You can tell they love what they do. We chose the Pandora's Box room (though they had several fun-sounding themes), and it was the perfect mix of challenging and fun. The puzzles were clever--not just your typical locks and keys--and the props and effects made it feel like we were really part of a movie. Everyone in our group had a chance to shine with different types of puzzles, which made it great for families with varying ages. We have tried one other escape room but absolutely loved Trapped! It is so much more than a bunch of combo locks! Appreciate the different puzzles. We had such a great time that we went and had lunch and then came back for another room. Our GM Daniel was AMAZING! The Trials of Merlin was cool! Lots of great props and ambience. More on visual puzzles, than figuring out number or letter lock combinations. Our game master Karlie did a terrific job. Kind of located in a weird location and the building is obviously old, but the games and rooms themselves are pretty good quality. My wife and I did Down the Rabbit Hole and had a great time. The game itself I could tell was a bit older, but the theming and puzzles were great, thematic and flowed together nicely. Nice combination of multiple types of puzzles (visual, logic, etc.) and nothing was unintuitive. Our GM Karlie was also good and gave us hints when there were alignment issues (always love when GMs help with technical things when you've actually solved the puzzle but need to move something 1cm to the left, haha). Definitely recommend coming here, especially if you need a family friendly escape room. read more

We tried the Menagerie escape room with two people and it was amazing! Loved the mystery and spookyness I was definitely on edge at some point. Very fun too and the puzzles were doable for two people. Wished the game was longer but can't complain, that's how much we loved the game. Definitely recommend and are coming back to play more games. Escape room location is in the rear of the business park once you enter off mountain. We went to the Upland location for our 3rd time here. We did Down the Rabbit hole. Our GM was Tyler and was great. The puzzles and theme of the room were fun and all flowed well. I'd definitely recommend doing their rooms, we keep returning and will definitely be coming back to do the remaining room at this location. Have never done this. And was honestly just a little hesitant to try. But my sons were pretty adamant about us doing it. Seriously the most fun we have had in a long time. We really had to focus and work together so the family bonding was good. Fern was so animated and so involved in her job that she was a great piece to the puzzle. She made our experience easy and fun at the same time. We can't wait to go back. The only downfall is it gets really warm in those rooms by we barely noticed because we were having such a fun time. LIAR OF THE PUZZLEMASTER... CONQUERED! We had NO IDEA what we were getting into today lol, but this was where the birthday boy wanted to go. Escape room??!? Okay... LET'S DO THIS! He decided on the morning of his birthday, full on spur of the moment, so we had to scramble for a location that could accommodate a group of 9-10 people and not share "the room" with others (munchkin is still paranoid of getting COVID-19). There are quite a few options in Upland, Rancho Cucamonga, Ontario area as this was a good half way point for All the parties, but not all are private and not all rooms can accommodate 9-10 people. Luckily TRAPPED! had this room available at a reasonable hour, and we booked it promptly! Yelp directions are on point, but street signage is pretty small and there's no signs to point you in the correct direction while driving. Basically drive to the back of the office buildings and you'll see it on the second floor. Parking was easy on Saturday! So how's this all work??? We showed up 5 minutes early. We were a group of 9, age range 13-53. Entry way serves as the gathering area. We watch a few videos about how their Escape Rooms work, and an introduction to our specific Escape Room. Then, our "Liaison" takes us outside and leads us to the "Liar of The Puzzlemaster!" 60 minutes to Escape! One person in group serves as communication officer with a walkie-talkie. We were all novices to the Escape Room world, so it took a bit of time to get our groove on. We reached out only a few times, and we weren't given direct answers, more like hints or clues to nudge us in the right direction. And... SUCCESS with minutes to spare! Whew! Last 15 minutes got pretty stressful, yet a Very fun experience! EASY RECOMMENDATION! Friendly and engaging staff. Definitely looking forward to testing our wits again with their other rooms. Just did Trials of Merlin with some of my co-workers as a team bonding outing and we had a BLAST! All the elements in the room were really thought out. It's the little things that got me excited, like doors opening and the music. Very VERY immersive. Kavin? Kevin? Sorry if I spelled your name wrong lol, was amazing! His acting made it much more fun and immersive! (interacting with him as an actor made it more fun and memorable hehe) Difficultly wise, not too hard, definitely not a very tough room, would say it's an intermediate-ish level, I can go on and on about this room for much longer but for the sake of reading this i'll lastly say it's one of my new favorite rooms I've done overall, and my favorite room I've done with this company! This was my FIRST escape room challenge! My husband and I treated my sister and brother-in-law to an adventurous evening for their anniversary. We were not disappointed and NO we did not escape LOL! There is a little learning curve to get how to proceed but once you warm up to the idea it gets easier. The room we tried was creative and fun! I feel like it could have used some air conditioning because we did get hot moving from room to room. The puzzles are not difficult, just takes some common sense, a little ingenuity and patience. You do need to finish some before you can move on to the next. We loved it and will definitely book another adventure! read more

First time trying one of Trapped's escape rooms. It was an awesome experience with my family. The staff was very welcoming and very helpful throughout. They are located on the 2nd floor of a business park. It was a bit difficult to find at first. We apparently choose the most difficult room since we chose to do an escape room that night spontaneously. We were able to ESCAPE the Puzzle Master room with about 7 minutes to spare. I don't wanna spoil anything, but you just like to say the room was really cool and uniquely put together. Good times and good vibes at Trapped Upland and would recommend it to others! read more

Returned to Trapped for our second time. My daughter and her friends enjoyed a birthday party. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. The Down the Rabbit Hole room was perfect for the 12 year olds. It challenged them a bit but not too much. The hints were just the right amount of helpful. We played all three escape rooms at this location and really enjoyed! We played Down the Rabbit Hole first which was a wonderful unique theme. All of the rooms are very immersive and we really felt like we were lost down a rabbit hole!! Good variety of puzzles including some we hadn't seen before! Next we played Menagerie which was our favorite. The gamemaster Jet was so into it and we loved our interactions with him. We loved the urgency in this room as well as the technology! Lair of the Puzzlemaster was somewhat difficult but we still enjoyed it and felt really immersed. We really loved our gamemasters Rory, Jet, and Sam! We went in with a group of 7 adults, all around mid-20s. Some of us had previous experience with escape rooms, others, this was our first one. Staff was incredibly helpful and really got into the lore of the rooms as they introduced us to the room. They give you a walkie-talkie to ask for hints. At one point we did accidentally change the channel on our walkie-talkie by mistake, but they were able to get us to change the channel on our end without really breaking the immersion of the lore of the room. We did "Lair of the Puzzlemaster," not knowing that this one was rated as one of more challenging rooms compared to the others. But we were able to finish and escape with 17 minutes to spare. Trapped! Escape Room - Lair of the Puzzlemaster - Escape Games Near Me - Upland, California

My friends and I have tried both The Lair of the Puzzlemaster and The Menagerie at the Upland location. We enjoyed both, but I think Menagerie was more interesting with the way it plays out (not just the plot, but what Trapped has decided to do. Taken from their website: "[The Menagerie] is an adaptive experience! This experience will change depending on your team's performance. Additional puzzles may be revealed depending on the time remaining in your adventure." Which we found to be unique and interesting. First of all, the location is kind of hard to find (like many escape room places seem to be. It's like a puzzle in itself sometimes). Like another reviewer said, Google Maps will have you turn into a small shopping area, but you have to drive to the very back to the old office buildings and Trapped will be on the 2nd floor. (Be careful going down the stairs afterwards. I ate it once, and my friend almost ate it tonight...) There's a good variety of puzzles in terms of difficulty level and type. There were some we knew what to do with, some where we needed a slight nudge, some where we needed an obvious hint, and some where even with the hint we were still stumped until someone had an epiphany lol. There are lock and keys, special locks, mechanical devices, probably just a lack of "techy" and flashy stuff. I find that their puzzles are overall pretty creative. They don't rely on your standard logic game puzzles. We did the Puzzlemaster room awhile back. If I remember correctly, that one relies on a walkie talkie to communicate with the GM, which I'm personally not a fan of since it can be hard to hear or you sometimes forget where you put it in the chaos, or the battery dies, etc. Menagerie you can communicate directly from the room. I think the only con is that I think with both rooms, my friends and I didn't know we had solved them lol. So it was kind of anticlimactic and a very delayed "Yay!!!" as we were confused at the end. That might just be us though and the fact that we've done both rooms very late in the evening. Menagerie currently has a special Halloween edition during October with a live actor, etc. I'd say it's worth checking out for those who like extra scares. My friends and I, we are perfectly fine WITHOUT live actors because we're on edge enough, me especially lol. Case in point, my friend almost attacked the GM with a mannequin arm... (Btw, a shout-out to our GM tonight!!! She was awesome!!! I feel bad that I didn't catch her name but she did a good job with story telling and giving hints without giving away too much... And of course being a good sport when she walked in to find one of us holding a mannequin arm like a bat lol... No GMs were harmed.) read more

The Merlin room had the potential to be an amazing room, but we had issues with faulty technology that made the experience disappointing. We also encountered two puzzles that had either not been reset, or somehow didn't work so we spent time trying to solve a puzzle that had already been solved. Some of the videos that played went on for a really long time too, which made us have to wait to keep playing. I've only done the Merlin room, so I don't know about their other games, but the employees said this room was only a month old, and we felt like it was already falling apart. Location wise, it's in the back of an office park, so it's a little hard to get too. I wish there was more signage. read more

My bf and I did the "rabbit hole" game in the Upland location After reading the reviews we were excited to try this one. We have done a fair share of escape rooms especially most of them in San Dimas and in Las Vegas. However, we were really frustrated with this room. The room itself and the attention to detail was really cool, but it was dark and really hard for us to see a lot of the clues, especially a couple of puzzles. After 30 min had passed trying to figure out one puzzle, they offered us a flashlight, which we didn't know we could ask for because it was never mentioned to us in any other escape room. We were really frustrated that we wanted to give up after that. It felt like we wasted so much time because we had poor light which also caused us to not noticing another clue that was part of the same puzzle. For us, it literally blended into the wall, I had to ask specifically where it was. We wouldn't have noticed it and we found out about it because of the clues when asked for help. This also wasted a good amount of time. Also, I do understand that it's an experience, but it was really hard to make out what the rabbit voice was saying that we had to ask 2-3 times. The music, the sound effects and the voice used to give clues was a bit hard to hear. Which also wasted sometime because we had to ask them to repeat. Lastly, I really believe the clues given could have been clearer. Some of the clues didn't make too much sense based on certain words that were used, so we had to keep asking for multiple clues to understand what they meant. It's a lot of money that we spent for this experience and we quite frankly felt cheated out of this one. read more

This was my first escape room ever and my boyfriend's second. It was such a great experience and so much fun. The puzzles were challenging but not too difficult. The ambience was perfect. I felt like I was really in the game. Our game master Matt was really helpful and got into character . That completed the whole experience. We just went through their "Lair of the Puzzle Master" room and had an amazing time. Our "Game Master" Karla absolutely sold the experience. She was amazing!  So accommodating and helpful.  We had a young boy in our group that has a neurological disorder but is high functioning.  Things can become very real for him.  Without any warning, requests, or anything Karla noticed him struggling and incorporated some reassurances into her "script/character". So not only was the experience great, the puzzles were great (challenging for our group, but still good), but Karla sold the whole thing and went so above and beyond to accommodate us.   We will definitely be going back because of the positive experience she offered us.  10/10 highly recommend Trapped! read more

A super fun experience! The rooms were so immersive and exciting. We did "Down the Rabbit Hole" room that seems heavily based on Alice in Wonderland. The puzzles were fun and challenging but not overly difficult. My favorite part was the Game Master as "Mr. Rabbit." The voice modifier was adorable and hints were extremely helpful. You get unlimited hints and no penalties for using them. Our Game Master Forrest was amazing! He even dropped little hints and reminders throughout to keep us immersed and on the right path. He let us know that we were the fastest group he's seen solve the room! It was nice that he was actually involved and interested with our group. My only gripe was that larger groups likely won't have a ton to do. We had a group of 5 and there were times where some of the group was just standing off to the side. But any group smaller would have a great experience. So I definitely don't think that's worth taking stars off. Overall, will keep coming back for different experiences. read more
