I really enjoyed Trash and Vaudeville. It was really boss! Again, I came with friends because I would have never come on my own. The clothes in this store remind me of something I would find on the Dollskill and Nasty Gal sites or at Hot Topic or Torrid. My friends and I had such a great time trying on the clothes. My friend bought a skull white corset and a blue chained skirt. It was very out of my price range but she looked beautiful in it. Another friend tried on 2 white corsets and the other friend, a male one, tried on a lace corset and a lace elaborate coat. The outfit was an entire mood. I tried on 2 very cute and very short pink skirts, a lace pink tank top, and a black and pink teddy/short dress. As I said before, way out of my price range and out of my confidence level, so I left with nothing. The two women who run the shop were so nice and knowledgeable. Especially the young lady with short red Mohawk. Anytime we had a question, inquiry, or were even thinking of one of the two, she was on it. It was truly a wonderful time.

I've been wanting to go here since I was 14 and searched on Yahoo "where do punk people shop." For real. So I finally had some time to kill in NYC, and I decided to make my long-awaited visit. The pieces here are gorgeous on so many different levels. A lot of their clothing and accessories are of course going to be over the top, but I found a ton of them to actually be surprisingly wearable. I found a white leather biker jacket that I fell in love with immediately... it was $800, but it was destined to be mine. When I move to the city, I will be back. A lot of times. The sales associates were also super down to earth and not pretentious at all like I expected them to be.

The best shop in New York City for the dark souls and vampires. The shop is located at 96 East 7th Street between Avenue A and First Avenue and it has been around since 1975. Wow, that's a long time ! It was in a different location and recently moved to this current location in the East Village in 2015. I also found out this store is where Blondie and the Ramones used to buy their cloths and the store was the first to stock on Doc Marten boots. I purchased a lot of things from this store because they have what I was looking for but also I wanted to support stores like this one that sells unique and interesting items. Sadly other shops similar to this all closed down through the years in different parts of the country. Trash and Vaudeville have a wide selection of jackets, dresses, coats, T-shirts, shoes, boots, belts, pins, patches,. You name it, they got it! The people working there were nice too. I'll definitely be back

I went there today to buy a pair of flared jeans after procrastinating for a week then met the amazing staff who had these cool ass tattoos and I loved the whole energy they gave off. I 100% recommended going here I'll be back for sure.

where can you get your tripp nyc stuff that's not hot topic? (no offense) and you don't want to shop online?! HERE RIGHT HERE!!! it's been years since i step foot at this place (actually five i was in this store when it was at St. Mark's Pl) i needed a birthday outfit and i had to come here! it is a bit farther to get to but where there is a will there's a way and i gotta come back to get more stuff i want this place to stay around so my kid can get his clothes here too! stay rockin!

Classic rock 'n' roll T-shirts.

This is a classic, rock 'n' roll, punk rock, New York music staple. It's worth just going in and soaking up the vibe. Everyone who is rocked in New York, went through there. I had been hearing about it through Lee Rocker, bassist of the Stray Cats. I knew I had to check it out. My daughter and I went in there and met Diana. She had been with the store a while. So nice and friendly. Very welcoming. Thanks for letting us visit! Can't lose if you're looking for classic punk/rock 'n' roll/New York, all school, clothing, shoes, accessories!

I freaken love this store! I have been shopping here since my first trip to NYC in 1990 and haven't looked back! There is a fine selection of Tripp NYC, Lipservice, Fantasy UK shoes and various other brands. Yes, some of the fashions are better suited to a 90lb goth girl but they do carry a variety of sizes for most garments. I happily purchased a black denim Tripp motorcycle jacket and some kick-ass faux leopard fur goth boots, similar to ones I had in 1985! I felt like a wee goth lass again as soon I put them on! M got his T & V brand stretch jeans that the manager Jimmy helpfully suggested a smaller size.. and he was right! Some reviews state bad customer service - I have NEVER received bad service - I've even done mail-order over the years and they've given me a discount! I mean, this isn't the friggen Gap or J Crew! That's why we shop there! All the people working there were actually friendly and helpful to M and I. I didn't get any vibes, just cool people working there. If you go in expecting them to kiss your ass, well you may be disappointed and are probably annoying anyways! Oh yes, check the sale rack in the back - we got some great items marked down! M also got a pair of sweet Gun motif Andy Warhol sneaks for super cheap! Love love love this store!

Is it expensive, and what do the prices start off with?

Yeah it's kind of pricey, but like dolly parton once said, "it costs a lot to look this cheap"

For a changing selection of serious punk clothes Trash and Vaudeville is the best- mainly because of Jimmy.

FIRE OR RETRAIN YOUR SECURITY GUARD…read more My boyfriend and I stopped by this store with one goal in mind: buy a couple of tshirts that only this store has. We ring the doorbell, as the sign says, and out comes the security guard who says the store is at capacity. My boyfriend looks over his shoulder and says there's only 5 people inside. To which the security guard replies "do you understand how shopping works?" ....... Um yes we do.... That's why we are trying to visit this store to buy a shirt....from a clothing store? He finally lets us in after someone leaves. The store now has 6 people total. We enter and immediately my boyfriend sees the shirts that he planned to buy. The shirts are in a plastic sleeve and he is only touching the fabric. He's not taking the shirt outside. The security guard comes over and tells him if he needs help. To which my boyfriend responses "no, I just wanted to know how the shirt felt". The security guard then says he can't take the shirt out of the packaging and my boyfriend responds "yeah I'm not." The security guard then calls a staff member to help my boyfriend out. Remember, this is a SECURITY GUARD. He's occupation and attention should be on managing the front door. We then speak with the staff and my boyfriend's asks for a size L and they say they only have a size M but he can try it on. And then proceeds to walk us to the back of the store and tell us to stand in line. My boyfriend and I are midway through the store and we are contemplating if we should wait in line. I'm not exaggerating when I say the security guard leaves his station and comes straight to boyfriend and then proceeds to tell him he can't be at the back of the store because they are at capacity. There's 4 people in the back! My boyfriend explains the staff brought us here and said to stand in line for the fitting room. The security guard then speaks over my boyfriends, says we can't be here and belittles him. Another staff member gets involved trying to deescalate the situation and says he's sorry. The security guard should have informed the staff if there was a policy in place. I sincerely ask him if this is a normal experience to be followed and harassed by a security guard? My boyfriend tells the security guard that he made shopping here very unpleasant. I cannot express enough to not come here. If you are looking to browse, or with any intention of buying, go somewhere else.
