    Penne all'Arrabiata

We happened to stumble on this place by chance as we walked around searching for a nice dinner spot. Our server was very friendly and without us having to ask, he immediately brought us grated parmesan cheese and a bottle of Tabasco sauce for spice - a strange choice for Italian food, but with good intentions. To drink, we opted for the house red wine, which came in a pitcher, and was very delicious. I ordered penne all'arrabbiata for my meal and was pleasantly surprised when it came with capers and olives, adding a nice tangy flavor to the dish. My parents ordered a vegetarian pizza and my brother ordered a cheese pizza, both of which were great. They also had a musician going around and playing music for each table. When he arrived at ours, he played an Indian song for my mother, which she absolutely loved. I'm glad I didn't pay attention to the other reviews, especially since they were written over a year ago, and this place has clearly improved.

Overall it was a good experience. Sat outside. Service was quick. Recommend the 3 course meal. Pricey, but you can try different plates. I ate a pizza, was hard to eat with a fork at first

Amazing Italian food. The Bass was paired with Polenta which made the flavor explode in my mouth!!! Just delicious.

The most amazing food. The fish was pared beautifully with white wine and service was excellent.

Lots and lots of restaurants to choose from in Venice but this unassuming restaurant is a true gem…read more It's easy to miss as it's tucked in a corner right by a bridge. Once inside they have a couple tables with small window views of any gondolas passing by. We started off with a plate of lightly fried sardines topped with pickled white onions. The fry on the fish was super light and those vinegar-y onions were the perfect pairing. We cleaned that plate. The lasagna was well balanced with the meat, sauce, cheese. The squid ink pasta was chewy/al dente with a subtle touch of seafood flavors giving the cuttlefish. It was very umami but nothing too overbearing. Delicious! It's a Family business that was been around for many years. Grazie to the friendly staff and chef!

The jovial mood with the waiters with big personalities is gone. The menu you can find online is no longer available so you get a very limited menu to choose from--nearly entirely seafood. So if you have anyone in your party that just wants pasta with a red meat sauce or a non seafood lasagne, not available. We were a party of 8. Two people ordered the scallop appetizers. Pretty presentation on shells. 3 tiny scallops in the shells. More like an amuse bouche. Totally disappointing. The linguine with clams as an entree had clams so small you almost needed a magnifying glass to see them. Couldn't taste the clams and annoying to try to eat something so tiny , and just try to eat the pasta with all those tiny shells. The baby shrimp on polenta was actually good. But again the shrimp were like tiny hatchlings tempura battered. Tasted okay except for those that were soggy from the polenta that was very soupy. I wanted the gnocchi with crab which was on the very limited menu but no longer available. The alternative was gnocchi with a sea bass sauce which I chose but didn't like at all. The gnocchi were good but the sauce wasn't at all for me. We had to continue to ask for side dishes for the bread, butter, olive oil, salt and pepper. We will not return. Poor value for your money. Plus there is a cover charge and service included in your bill which was a surprise. Very sad to see our favorite Venetian restaurant decline so much.
