My husband and I were excited to try this restaurant as it is in close proximity to our neighborhood. I called on a Friday afternoon to see if there would be availability for two people the next evening and they took down my name and phone number, saying they did. Easy peasy. Except that when we arrived the next evening (a Saturday), our reservation wasn't to be found. After a few minutes of polite back and forth to see if they misheard my name, they were able to seat us at a two-top since the restaurant wasn't yet full. Our server and server-in-training were very nice and gave us the specials for the day, however, it was a lot of information all at once and the server was trying very hard, but didn't quite succeed, in reciting everything correctly. It would have been better if he had just read them to us from a notepad. We ordered cocktails, and I found the lack of Italian-cocktails surprising. Don't get me wrong, they got the Negronis and Spritzes covered, but almost every drink on the generic "Cocktail" list had tequila in it...not something I'd expect or want at an Italian restaurant. I ordered a Giardiano and my husband ordered a Negroni; both were lovely! Next, we ordered the escargot appetizer with a side of bread; again, lovely! There was no special escargot utensil like we've seen at other restaurants, which made things a tad messier, but not a deal breaker. From here, things started to really drift downhill. When it was time to order our meal, my husband asked the server what cut of meat was used for the steak dish (Steak Au Poivre). The server, who was training someone else mind you, guessed it was a "big slab of filet" but went back to the kitchen to check; it was a New York Strip. I ordered the Paccheri Braised Pork, and my husband went ahead and ordered the steak, but before he could even ask about the temperature, the server had already veered off to put the order in. In all our prior experiences ordering a steak, if the chef has a preferred temperature, it either states that temperature on the menu or the server lets the customer know beforehand to make sure that's ok. Since that didn't happen and we had to flag our server back down (this took about 15 minutes and the restaurant wasn't even at full capacity yet) to find out that the chef's preference was Medium. My husband asked if he could get it Medium Rare, instead, to which the server replied he'd let the kitchen know. Next, we were served salads, and I think that was the best part of our entire evening. The salads were amazing! When our meal was delivered by a runner, at first glance everything looked great. I dug into my paccheri braised pork dish (delicious! but noticed my husband hadn't started eating because they didn't bring him a steak knife. I kid you not we tried to flag down our servers for over 15 minutes. Surely, they would stop by to ask how everything looked since that is standard practice, right? Wrong. Once we got our server, he informed us that they didn't have any steak knives. That was a first...who serves steak and doesn't have steak knives?? My husband finally cuts into the steak with his butter knife and discovered that not only was the steak not medium rare, as asked, nor was it medium, the chef's preference; it was straight up well-done and tough as nails. He powered through and ate half of the steak but couldn't stomach the rest. Having finished our meals, we were ready to be asked about dessert or if we wanted our drinks refreshed, or heck to be checked on at all. Had we not flagged down servers to ask about ordering wine or for a steak knife, a full hour would have gone by with no server interaction (my husband timed it). Someone we figured to be the owner did eventually come by and take our plates (although we only assumed that because we overheard him being called "Kevin"...we would not have assumed he was the owner by his extremely casual attire; cargo shorts, flip flops, and an old t-shirt). He asked if we'd like a box for the steak; we politely said "no, thank you". Honestly, we just wanted to leave the restaurant at this point, and if we brought up the steak issues, our stay would have been prolonged. We waited another 20 minutes or so for our server to stop by with the check and he informed me that he's comp'd my cocktail "since I obviously didn't like it". I took offense to that; never did he come by and even ask if I was enjoying my drink (which I was!). I was being a responsible adult who knows her own alcohol tolerance couldn't handle more than one drink. It was rude for the server to make that assumption and then tell me about it! We should have been comp'd the drink for how long the entire dinner experience lasted (two and a half hours). There are obviously quite a few kinks this restaurant needs to work out, but I'm not sure we'll be dining there again to see if they were ironed out. Nor will we be recommending this place to our friends and family. read more

Great Eggplant Parmesan! Beautiful seat by the window. Wine selection was very good. The bartender made a good Negroni.

Outstanding meal, apps were great, mains were perfect. The wife and I both throughly enjoyed the Experience.

The dinner salads were inventive and perfectly sized. The entres were excellent. The service was attentive and cheerful. The ambiance was austere in spots, kinda meh, but the murals near us really made our side of the room. read more

The food was wonderful. The portions were large enough that we both brought home leftovers. The beverage prices were a bit high, but a very nice selection of wines. The server was attentive, but when my husband asked for a clean fork, he had to check if there were any? The website has an email sign up, and a contact us section. I did both for reservations, with no response for 3 days. It's a small thing, but if you don't open until 4:30, perhaps a better reservation system, other than calling would help....or have someone actually respond if you offer email/contact us options. read more

Good food with big portions at a reasonable price. Nice atmosphere too. My only gripe was the mid-level snobbery when asking for a table. This guy asked us if we had a reservation, we didn't, it was Thursday at 5pm. He tried to sit us at the bar and outside before agreeing to "look for a table" for us. He found one. There was only 1 occupied table and they filled just 2 more the whole time we were there. I don't know why he had to have attitude about it. If I owned a restaurant, I would want my customers to receive friendly greetings. read more

This is a Place You Really need to try! The Food is Fabulous! Loved Everything! The Customer Service is Great! The Roasted Vegetables are the Best I have ever had. The Freshly Made Pasta is So Very Good. I have had the Halibut, Crab and Lobster Cakes, Lasanga, and Mozarella Sticks. Going back soon to try the Eggplant Parmeson. Food was great. Leftover Lasagna and Zucchini Roulades rocked. Service was good. Restaurant is very loud , not sure that can be corrected, tables extremely close, that can be corrected. Made a reservation for 6pm. When we arrived we were seated right front of window. Sun was was very bright and would only get worse for the next hour. No window shade. We asked to be moved. There were many tables empty but were told by the manager they were all reserved within the next hour. Our options were to eat at the bar or outside on the patio. We opted to leave. Room to improve.... Lacks traditional Italian seasoning and is weak on flavor. The new decor is somewhat sterile but very clean.

First off we really enjoyed our evening at TP and have been anxiously awaiting the opening! Food was delicious and very different from any other restaurant in Augusta which is a thrill unto itself. My calamari scampi and house salad were both so tasty and generously portioned. While my husband enjoyed his steak, our server ( who was very sweet) was not sure of what cut of steak it was when he ordered. Entrees came out before salad was finished or wine served. No cracked fresh pepper offered but the table next to us had it. Again, substantial delicious portions though and very reasonable prices. Ambience is nice but gets loud as the crowd increases. Big rectangular room . Little room between the 2 top tables promoted too much noise and conversation crossover. It would be nice to push 2 tops together when possible and give couples more space and privacy . Was hoping for a more intimate dining experience. There are Beautiful semi circle banquettes , but they were never filled the Saturday-night we were there. My review is rather "picky" especially for a newly opened restaurant, however I submit it in the hopes that the staff and management may take into consideration a few things were noted and "missed" in the spirit that it is meant . I preface this review with the fact that my experience was immediately negatively influenced by the restaurant not being prepared for children by not having high chairs put together. They had one chair put together that was in use by another child. To add to the matter, it was Mother's Day. We had 5:30 reservations and the restaurant was by no means full, and we were seated at a small two person booth table, in which our 1.5yr old had to sit in our laps. We were given a bottle of water for the table but it was never served to us, even initially- we did not order other drinks. I ordered a Peroni without looking at the menu, however they do not serve the popular Italian beer. Ordered the Stuffed Paccheri to start- my husband liked it, I wasn't a fan because it was fried- would have ordered something different if that had been in the description but it was okay. We ordered the Spaghetti and meatballs and Cacio E Pepe. The spaghetti was great, noodles al dente, meatball had a little spice to it. The Cacio E Pepe was not great- watery, separated cheese that was not adhering to the noodles. Was like the noodles must have not been cooked and tossed in with the sauce. So it was super bland, not creamy and even the pepper just wasn't enough. It was also made with Bucatini noodles, which I think was a poor choice. Side salad was super salty to us but others seemed to be eating it no problem so maybe we just got a bad batch. We unfortunately did not opt for dessert because we were ready to escape as soon as possible for having to wrangle our baby all night. (our very well behaved baby who does great at restaurants with appropriate seating). So- all that to say I do hope they make improvements because we really need a great Italian restaurant and I love the traditional Roman dishes. The atmosphere inside and out were nice. I could see them needing some more fans outside, but the lighting was a great touch; would be even better if they added some music for the ambiance. Hopefully they resolve the child seating issue and improve the Cacio E Pepe.. that's a pretty basic dish. read more

My wife and I have wanted to visit for months but we had a baby right before they opened and tonight was our first wonderful experience with this lovely restaurant. We went for our late anniversary dinner tonight and will definitely be back. Jacob greeted us at the door and gave us a great table. Jason waited on us and was extremely knowledgeable about the menu and bar. Jason and chef and the lovely bartender went above and beyond to make our experience memorable. From drinks to appetizers and entrees everything was fantastic. Jacob checked on us several times to make sure we were enjoying ourselves. Jason couldn't have done better. I wish we had room for dessert as they looked absolutely amazing. The escargot was delicious and my wife loved the olive sampler. Our martinis and bottle of brunello were on point too. The risotto and chicken parmigiana were perfect. My wife and I are in the food and beverage industry and can't say enough wonderful compliments about our visit. If you're looking for the Americanized Italian chain restaurant this is not necessarily for you. Chef and the infamous owner Kevin Goldsmith have brought more traditional Italian to the CSRA. The ambiance was welcoming and the noise level was perfect. Thank you to everyone mentioned and everyone that we didn't actually meet that made our anniversary so wonderful.
