I had the tomato risotto, which was flavorful and cooked to perfection. The fish tacos were also very good. One pleasant surprise was the salsa--it was fresh, flavorful, and had an authentic homemade taste. The mango turmeric lemonade tasted fresh, healthy, and refreshing. What truly made this dining experience special, though, were the magnificent views overlooking the ocean waves. The beautiful scenery elevated the entire meal and made it a memorable experience.

My room appeared to be next to what sounded like a utility or service room, and there was loud equipment noise running throughout the entire night. Sleeping was nearly impossible. I reached out to the hotel by both text and email after my stay and was told the matter would be looked into. It has now been over a week with no follow-up or resolution whatsoever. For the rates Surf & Sand charges, guests should not be placed in rooms with constant overnight noise issues, and concerns should certainly not be ignored afterward. Very disappointing experience from a hotel that presents itself as a luxury property.

It is technically walking distance to the beach but it is down a decent hill and would be a pain to lug your stuff up/down. The layout of the property is a little confusing in the meantime but staff were always friendly and helpful. Rooms are spacious but amenities are lacking. Only one pool open and it's quite small and when we went, overrun with kids. The LookOut Bar has more of someone's makeshift backyard vibe and there's an automatic 20% service charge that wasn't disclosed or posted anywhere except on the receipt once payment was ran. They had a starry night experience that we reserved that didn't happen and we didn't receive any notification; it was still advertised at the lobby and we did return multiple times to the designated lawn but there was no one. Charged twice for parking and was assured it would be taken care of prior to departure but it wasn't and I had to stop by the lobby to get it corrected before leaving. Am a Gold Elite member and requested a late check out but instead of 2pm, the latest was 12:30pm. No complimentary room upgrade offered either, which was disappointing. Walls are PAPER THIN and we had neighbors who were loud late into the evening and then started early. Could hear kiddos upstairs being yelled at as well. The AC is loud and every time it kicked on, you could hear water running and the air seemed to blow at you instead of dispersing throughout the room. May return once the renovations are done but wouldn't pay the nightly rate for what we received.

The facility is absolutely great for an event. Nice layout and scenery, multiple refrigerators,…read morevery spacious and flexible. The BIG issue that we had was with "zillions" of ants. The infestation was out of control for us. We had large salads in bowls as well as a large assortment of exposed fruit. By the time guests noticed, the ants were all over the salads and the fruit...and we, as hosts, felt so ashamed. Guest were worried whether they had eaten infested portions that they served themselves. I mentioned the ant infestation to the manager the following day but he just surmised that the infestation was mostly likely because of the warm weather (?). (Personally, I think that I should have been offered at least some of my money back that I paid to rent to facility.) Anyway, that was a real spoiler for us. Other than that, everything else was ok. What could have been great, wasn't.

I found myself here again last week for a gym event and surprisingly had the same theme - a casino night & taco guy! This clubhouse is spacious and can fit a lot of people. It has a fireplace, bar, etc. Definitely a neat amenity if you have access to use this to host parties and events! Unfortunately at both events, I was too busy socializing and gambling to take any pics!

**FUN 9 HOLES IN LAGUNA**…read more PARKING Valet or guest parking available down the hill. Easy and convenient. AMBIANCE Beautiful views throughout the course, calm setting, friendly staff, and well-kept greens. GOLF Tee time was 10:22am, and we were welcomed right away. Check-in was smooth, we were given a cart, and paired with Marla and Trish, who have played this course for years and made the round even more enjoyable. Holes 4 and 5 were my favorites. There are some challenging shots, but overall it's very playable and beginner-friendly. I'm still learning and walked away with a few bogeys, which felt great. OVERALL I only recently started playing with my best friend, and this has quickly become one of my favorite courses. Great place to play, learn, and enjoy the scenery. I'll definitely be back and hope to make this a regular stop. Highly recommend.

I give this golf course a one-star review. I had a very disappointing experience this afternoon…read more I called ahead to confirm the walking rate for the 9-hole course and was quoted $60 per player. When I arrived to check in, I was suddenly told the rate was $110 per player for nine holes, almost double; and that's for a walking senior!!! I explained that I had been quoted a lower rate on the phone, but the staff member dismissed it, saying he "thought I was a resident of Laguna Beach or Dana Point." That's not my problem. If the course can't communicate their rates accurately, the customer shouldn't pay for their mistake. The course itself is an executive nine-hole layout with no ocean views; certainly not worth $110 for a walking round. It feels as though they're trying to price out everyday golfers and cater exclusively to the wealthy. I refused to play on principle and canceled. I could have paid the higher rate, but I won't reward that kind of bait-and-switch pricing. Golf should be accessible, and this experience left a sour taste. This is an overpriced course with inconsistent, and disappointing customer service.

The Ranch had 4 shuttles to help with the parking and flow of traffic for this event. Packed event but good vibes. It was neat that even people from nearby communities/neighborhoods came out to support the event and tour all the model homes. Each builder had a fun niche: honey tasting from Hapa Honey Farm, lavender sachet station, and a local band playing the oldies but goodies. There were food trucks and dessert tables mixed with vendors (local farm, yoga, etc.). Stretch before you start walking the models because there is plenty to see and stairs to climb.
