Service was good, food was prepared nicely and arrived at our table very quickly which was nice. I had the blueberry pancakes, they were delicious. The blueberries were a little tart but still tasteful. The other people in my party ordered plain pancakes and the Italian sausage frittata, they said was delicious. The coffee was over priced at $3.50. For three people we paid $10.50 just in coffee. Overall I liked this restaurant but it is a little too pricy for breakfast in my opinion. read more

My husband and I are from Ohio and we stopped at this cafe for breakfast on our way to Sleeping Bear Dunes. The food was very good with generous portions. We enjoyed the egg/bacon/hash brown breakfast with homemade Cuban bread toasted and cinnamon roll. The staff are very pleasant and friendly. It was so good we returned the next day! read more

My wife, 6 yr old and I arrived on a red eye and thought the food photos worth a try. Gotta say the Cuban inspired breakfast options were so satisfying. I loved the Rubin Frittata with pile of hash. The Cuban toast was so fresh tasting too. Wife tried the con leche semi-sweet coffee and our daughter had tried taking all her sweet toast. The little did great with her Cuban French Toast (which I got to finish off with delight as well). Thanks to our attentive server Tony for great friendly service. We had to turn away the last couple coffee refill offers...a service skill that seems to have faded with time. The Cuban coffee was excellent! I suggest drinking it black. read more

Greeted and seated immediately. Our specialist, Michelle, was fantastic. Answered our questions with confidence, which to me is a barometer. My husband had the Cuban Coffee and loved it. He ordered the Banana Walnut Pancakes and Bacon which were amazing and reasonably priced! I had the Steak and Blue Cheese Frittata with Hash Browns and Cuban Toast and I will be talking about them for a while! Seriously, everything was so tasty AND affordable! Do yourself a favor and frequent this terrific place often. We ate breakfast there both days were were in TC. Everything is made on premises, waitstaff and cook couldn't be nicer, a funky, homey, first rate little restaurant. I'd give them ten stars if I could. read more

This place looked good but during Covid would not seat our party of six as a party of four and two. They tables were available but the rational was they would then have a line. It did not make any sense. Maybe if you pretend you don't know each other you could get food. read more

This use to be the Happy Hog, but it now serves a really good breakfast for $7. 2 eggs, hash browns, bacon and toast(Cuban bread, my personal favorite). Plus a very good cup of coffee. read more

I really love this Cafe! The food is delicious. I have stopped here a few times and always try something new. I highly recommend the Veggie Fritatas (generous amount of fresh veggies and avocado), biscuits and gravy (the best), and the Cuban Coffee ( strong and flavorful). All outstanding. Enjoyed the Cinnamon biscuits-all made from scratch. The servers make the dinning experience very pleasant and enjoyable. Happy to have Easter Breakfast this morning at my favorite Cafe. Wonderful place to eat. Quaint, with great views. I had a favorite place across town I would get a burger for lunch. This restaurant has now replaced it. Best burger in town. Staff was very friendly, definitely a smaller place with limited seating. Only waited a few minutes to be seated, we were placed at a small table in the middle of the floor. Service was pretty quick to take our drink and food orders. Took 15 minutes get our food, which is not bad on a busy day. Food was pretty good, I got the corn beef frittata. My girlfriend got the Cuban French toast. We were both pleased. Both orders with coffee came to $25.44, which is a pretty reasonable price if I do say so. read more

Slow service as in 30 minutes to get breakfast. I would hate to think how long if they were busy. When the food finally did arrive bacon was raw (literally ) the sour doe toast was warm bread. The hash brown potatoes were more of a hash beige potato. On the upside the pancakes were good and the cinnamon roll was very good.... to bad I didn't order what the smart people ordered. To be fair they did try to take it back after we were about done. At least they didn't charge us for the egg and bacon. Not a place I would recommend to friends. read more

This is a great new breakfast and lunch spot in TC. We came in around 11 on a Sunday and we were seated immediately. The coffee was excellent. All of our dishes were super tasty and the portion sizes were huge. I got the biscuits and gravy and it was the best I've had anywhere in town. My wife got the veggie frittata and our friend got the big breakfast. The pancakes were awesome! You owe it to yourself to check this place out before word gets out and it is overrun with fudgies. read more

I recently had breakfast here with a friend. She had the salmon and dill omelette and apparently loved it because she actually stopped talking. I had the full breakfast with eggs over easy, bacon and pancakes. Everything was cooked perfectly (pancake snob here) and the syrup was awesome. Coffee was tasty too. I loved our server and the friendly cook delivered some of the food. I cannot wait to go back for the monkey bread French toast! read more

Really enjoyed this cute cafe! Excellent waitress. Takes awhile to get in (as does everywhere working on 50% capacity), but worth the wait. My husband got the Cuban coffee which is basically a shot of coffee and it was delicious. He had the corn beef hash and I had the frittata. Both were so good! Nice place. Busy on the weekend. Wait staff good. Only bad thing was I ordered my bacon and hash browns extra crispy and they came out soft and bad. When someone asked for crispy you need to make sure they are crispy. I don't want to send it back and wait even longer. Get it right the first time. ! read more

Waitress forgot to put our breakfast order in so service was very slow. Coffee was not refilled quickly and was weak for $3.50. When we finally reveived our order the bacon was raw. The French toast was nothing special, just thick bread. We won't be coming back. read more

On our way out of town at the end of our vacation, my family stopped at Traverse Bay Cafe to get a late breakfast. As soon as we sat down and got our two kids unwrapped, we found out that the cafe stopped serving breakfast an hour earlier, so we apologize to the waiter and started packing up to find breakfast elsewhere. Without pause, the waiter told us not to worry: they could cook breakfast for us. During lunch hours, they made large breakfast portions and fresh coffee, and it was all delicious. This was a very good experience that made the hectic travel home much less stressful. I would highly recommend eating here! read more

Place is NOT suited to hold more than 6 people. Our male waiter was less than interested in serving us. He was not inviting and was not eager to earn a tip. However, the two female waitresses were friendly and kind. The food was hit and miss. Some dishes were simply impossible to mess up - I.e. eggs. Next, the facility. The bathroom is in the kitchen and accommodating if you were 100 lbs soaking wet. The kitchen was a sight to see. The overall condition of the building was poor. If you had ONE place to eat for the rest of your life, save yourself and go somewhere else. read more
