I have been lucky enough to have been hosted at the vineyard twice by Julie and Albert. The first time was through our connection on Instagram, and the second was as a club member to pick up my wine club shipment. They grow and produce a limited amount of Cabernet Sauvignon and only sell to their wine club and a few establishments in Los Gatos. Julie and Albert are wonderful hosts. They make each person visiting feel special and truly engage with you. At both of my visits they provide a delectable charcuterie spread of mixed that also included Julie's famous tomato jam. As someone who doesn't traditionally like tomatoes, I can say this jam is my jam! Each visit has been a unique experience to mix and mingle with other wine enthusiasts from the area. This is a place where you come a stranger but leave a friend.

You are directed to park at the top of the hill and then you take an enjoyable golf cart ride down to the tasting area. On the way day, you get to see a big portion of their beautiful grounds with benches and chairs spread out to sit on if you choose to. I'm sure you can also walk from the parking lot to the tasting area since there are pathways and steps everywhere but I opted for the fun golf cart ride. :) Their wine is fantastic. I quickly glanced at the menu and headed inside. They have nice outdoor seating and stand-up tables. There is seating inside and outdoors. We were greeted by one of the owners who told us all we needed to know about Coterie Cellars. We were told about the list of wines and their flavors. We tried 3 of their wines and went with Caries Corner's Pinot Noir. We also bought a bottle of another wine we tried to take home. We grabbed a seat inside the establishment after a lovely conversation with the owners and family. We enjoyed our wine and just had to try something from the food truck. I would definitely return. The vibes were chill, the wine was great, and so was the food truck. It was too crowded although there were a few guests but two tables were available when we were ready to be seated. Please Note: Food trucks are there on Fridays and its a new food truck each time. The menu changes every couple of weeks. Tastings are only on the weekends and not on Fridays.

This place is owned by a husband and wife team. The tasting room in Los Gatos is cute with several tables, couches and seating at the bar and limited seating outside. You can walk in for a tasting or a glass or two of wine but it's best to make a reservation if it is a larger group. Tasting is $20 that is waived with purchase of 2 bottles or if you become a wine club member. The parking is the difficult part, but it's just to this tasting room. Downtown Los Gatos in general has limited parking. The first time I arranged a meetup event tasting here, it was not that busy on a weekend. Gail, one of the owners served us. What all of us noticed is that while she poured the wine for our tastings, she did not linger to talk about each wine nor did she promote the wine club or even ask us if we wanted to purchase anything. It was not busy at all so can't blame it on that. We wrote it off as a fluke. But, this happened the next time we went as a group and at the various wine walks. Gail will be smiling and will pour the wine for the people in front of us but as my group and I approach, the smile is gone. She will pour the tasting but wait for us to move on - again no explanation on what she is pouring etc. This past week, I was talking to her at an event and she just brushed me off with her hand and talked over me to some one else. I met the husband at the 2024 Vine to Wine event and we had a long conversation, which was a welcome change. Frankly, I don't remember what she poured or whether it tasted good, I came away with the memory of the person pouring.

I went with the saison experience, which consisted of 1 white and 2 reads, and my friend the burgundy flight, which was all pinots. As we worked thorough our tastings we were delighted to be given another extra pour that was similar to our flights. Each time we were given a wine/new wine to try we were provided with some information about the grapes and the style the wine was made - tasting notes with flavor profiles for each wine were listed on the back of the menu with all the wines they had. Overall we had a great experience and both ended up going home with at least a bottle. I went home with the rosé and merlot, and I was tempted to go home with even more than one bottle of that rosé. Definitely plan to come back here and taste again sometime!

Its color was a rich dark ruby, nice dark berry on the nose with rich texture and a smooth finish. It's a great big cab for all your cab lovers, give it a try. The winery is in Los gatos owned by Jim Schwabe & Doug Aumack. They have been making wine for a while ,but this cab is their best ever. They also make a 100% petit verdot,which ,you can taste at the basin restaurant in Saratoga .
