Happy Hour Review! My husband and I stopped into Tree Guys Pizza Pub for a quick bite to eat. Their specialty is pizza which we have previously tried and really enjoyed! This visit, we enjoyed some half priced appetizers and discount drinks. You truly can't beat the 1/2 off prices on almost all appetizers offered. There's a good variety and portions are not lessened because of the discount. We enjoyed The Platter to try a little bit of everything. Our favorites were the Pretzel Bites and Cheese Curds. Our drinks weren't overly strong but you could still taste the spirit some. Service was good both times we visited. read more

I like the direction they are going with their deep-dish pizza. presentation A, sauce C+, sausage C+-, cheese B , crust C-. I want this place to do well. Crust was too sweet and crumbly and did not go well with overall taste , sauce and cheese were average, sausage was not the usual taste almost like turkey sausage instead of Italian pork. I would also add a little more sauce since it is on the thin side. This pizza is trying to be like Geno's but still needs a little more work. read more

We went here for my husband's birthday. We sat at a table that wasn't ideal right by the bar entrance door. The door was practically hitting my sister in law everytime patrons were going from the bar to restaurant dining area. Not a good table to sit patrons at if you ask me. Onto the food now. The pizza was just okay. They put a good amount of sausage on it. The crust was subpar. My sister in law really liked her chicken wrap and fries. I did try their fries which had a nice seasoning on them and their ranch dressing was homemade. Overall, this pizza place is just average. Consistently good for over 20 years that I've been eating here. Everything from the sandwiches to of course the pizza, is great.

We've been coming here for years but for some reason we hadn't been here for a couple years. Must have been pandemic related but whatever it was we just didn't come. Went for a quick Friday night drink and pizza and have to say the changes they made in the bar area made it feel lively. It was loud and busy in there Friday night. Drink specials were perfect. 4 dollar captain Morgan and 5 dollar Tito's were what we needed. Cheese curds were great. Rigatoni with sausage and vodka sauce was good - sauce can use a bit more tomato to add to the creaminess but it was tasty. Pizza was solid as always. Service was on top of their game even though they weee clearly understaffed. Will be back! read more

Quick run down: - "is the thin crust soft or hard?" "soft." Wrong. If it doesnt fold, its not soft. It is not soft. - pizza comes out cut into squares...am i at chuckie cheese?? am i 4?? Now i have to stick my fingers into the cheese and sauce to eat a piece. stupid - most important - the quality: Have you tried cardboard? Very similar. Add sauce and you're there. Not kidding, i honestly thought this was a frozen pizza they got at the grocer and put in the oven, then served. I'm not convinced that isn't the case. Side notes: the vibe is ok but my experience was bad. Loud people in the corner and the overall sound was loud even though it was less than half full. But that might not always be the case. Waitress never refilled my water. Empty... stayed empty. I was chewing ice for 15 minutes. Never did get a refill. Not even once. I went on a tuesday (today...) and you get a "free" pizza (buy 1 get 2). I didn't even take it with me. I tried to tell the bartender to not even bring it bc I wasn't going to take it but she didn't hang around for me to finish my sentence when getting my bill. So i left it sitting on the bar. I mean, how bad does a place have to be to not take a freshly baked pie in a box? Save yourself some cash and get a jacks pizza from the store...same same. Maybe better. read more

We started with the baked potato soup which was quite bland, the texture was slightly gritty. Then we tried the Margarita Pizza, but we're pepperoni Fanatics so we had a slap some of that on there. Turned out quite delicious the crust is a little thick for my liking but still delicious. Eggplant parmesan sandwich was better than expected will definitely reorder. I really like the marinara that came on the sandwich but when I asked for a side of it was different AKA pizza sauce. Sat in the bar area cuz the dining room was quite busy for Thursday night. Stopped in for lunch after hitting the nature walk nearby. They have a huge outdoor seating area with a tent for shade and fans. Service was quick and friendly and they let me bring my dog on their patio. Not sure if they are always dog friendly, but they were today. Workers are wearing masks, hand sanitizer is available, and they have enough space to social distance properly. So they are on point with safety measures. They have a variety of sandwiches, wraps, pizza, and appetizers on their menu. We went with the combo appetizer and everything was really tasty. Light crispy batter. No heavy oily texture, which is what typically turns me off of fried food. Green beans were still fresh and crisp tasting. Onion rings were nice thick Vidalia onions, or that's what they tasted like. Jalapeno poppers were spicy and delicious. They give you 2 cream cheese and 2 yellow cheese. Mozzarella sticks were solid. The ranch, marinara, and BBQ sauces were all good as well. The beer was cold, but be specific if you don't want draft as that seems to be their default. Luckily their draft was fine and cold. But I've had bars not clean their taps, and I don't chance it by choice anymore. I've only been once so far, but this was a good lunch stop in a convenient location and their prices are reasonable. Tree guys was yummy as usual. Parking was very packed. We always get buffalo wings and pizza on Thursday. They have a variety of food, beers, and beverages. Overall service was great, but the pizza took a little over an hour to get to us after ordering. I give them the benefit of the doubt because this is the first time this has happened (maybe due to a large order before ours). Sorry, no pictures of pizza, as soon as it hit the table we were at it! I've been to Tree Guys a few times as it's always the last stop on an annual train pub crawl I go on. It's a great Itasca style divey pizza bar joint. They have some surprisingly good beers on tap & on bottle. Much better than I would expect from this kind of pub. Plus, they have Craft Street brews and I give them major props for supporting the most local brewery them all in Chicagoland. The bathrooms here are disgusto. Even more gross is I usually end up using the guys' bathroom because the ladies' one has long lines...and the boys' bathroom is just---ugh. yuck. Service is always meh here. I wouldn't go out of my way to go to Tree Guys however once you're in here, it's always a great time. A lot of locals go but they are the friendly drunk kind that is cool with chatting with everyone. Another surprise is their pizza is actually quite good! Tastes even better after a few drinks! Yum! Visited Tree Guys on the advice of the Chicago Yelp forum. Very cute place, looks smaller than it actually is. I ordered the Tree Guys Favorite, 10 inch. In Chicago I noticed that I don't feel like a fat hog when leaving the pizza places where I ate. I appreciate that. The crust is thin, but not crackery, like a certain chain restaurant. The sauce isn't too sweet, or too spicy. The sauce is really good. The cheese, there was plenty, and it had good flavor. The spinach was carefully placed, and wasn't droopy. The service was AOK. I ordered iced tea, and it remained full. I thought the prices were reasonable, and I was pleased. What I really wanted was a rhinestone Tree Guy's Pizza shirt like the girls were wearing. Not available. I gave this place 5 stars cause it's certainly a huge step up from the resort hotel I was staying at. I didn't order bread sticks, or anything other than pizza. I didn't have much time, and I was very pleased they got the pizza out to me in time to eat it and enjoy it. The skateboard above the coat rack pretty much summed up the coolness of this restaurant. I will eat there again when I return to Itasca. Being from Kansas City, I really appreciated this establishment. read more

The dine-in food is decent. A very extensive menu. Some items are exceptional; others not so much. The servers are hit and miss. Occasionally courteous, otherwise surly. The interior needs some work. Water stained ceiling tiles aren't very appetizing to me. Avoid ordering by phone. I work nearby and we used to order frequently by phone and 3 out of 5 orders would get messed up. Then the owner forgot his place and scolded us, accusing us of falsifying orders to try to get free food. Mr. Owner; get over yourself. Your product is not THAT good. Why would we lie to get free mediocre food? We will take our ample business elsewhere and leave you to your lack-of-business-sense la-la land. So much for supporting the local businesses. Food was delicious and after a small hiccup with my to-go order (for our kids), I was refunded my money for that item, and a delivery driver was sent out with it. Great customer service and we will be back simply because of how quickly the driver came and understanding the manager was. She got this taken care of and the kids were happy! First time ordering take out and received an entirely wrong order. They made good on it but we had to drive back over there and received our order that had now been sitting too long. Tried again and while they charged for the add-on to my burger it was not added on to the burger. We both asked for fries well done and they were more under done than well done. Don't get the sweet potato fries unless you want sugar coated fries with your sandwich. Won't go back any time soon, if ever. It's a shame since there are so few choices in Itasca. read more

Tree Guys you just lost an Itasca customer. I ordered a medium Pizza with sausage, mushroom, onion and extra cheese. The total came out to $26.26. The size of a medium sure isn't like it used to be. Toppings were extremely skimpy - I counted 5 mushrooms. The extra cheese I ordered didn't happen. The taste of the pizza was bland and subpar. I wouldn't eat this pizza if the cost were free. Tree Guys Pizza isn't the great tasting pizza it used to be. We will never go back. read more
