Tonight we wanted somewhere different for pizza. Joes Pizza may be our new favorite non-deep dish pizza in the Chicagoland suburbs! We phoned our order in and picked up a sausage pizza . The pizza was ready on the money with the time frame they gave us. The toppings were fresh! And the sausage.... Man that sausage was incredible and HUGE. They didn't skimp at all. Their sauce has a fantastic taste. Not only was this mom and pop store awesome, they were so nice to us. The owner gave my step daughter a feee root beer just to be nice. We have been looking for a new pizza place and my middle son found this gem. First time we ordered it was amazing and I thought it might have been a fluke. We are now 3 visits in and now have our regular spot now. Have had Xtra thin, thin, and Sicilian crusts and each of them was good. The sauce is great, ingredients are fresh and flavorful. I agree with the other reviews that Joe's Pizza is awesome. In the Schaumburg/EGV area, it is very hard to find extra thin crust pizza. I ordered a pizza today and Joe's did not disappoint. I asked for extra sauce and cheese well done. When I finally got home, I was surprised that the crust was still nice and crispy. The sauce was great and had just the right amount of sweetness and the cheese and garlic were very fresh, along with the sausage and pepperoni. The gentleman at the counter was very friendly and you could tell he took great pride in the food (he's from Sicily). I think I found my go-to place for thin crust pizza. Very disappointed with this place for numerous reasons. Husband tried ordering from their online menu - 10 inch personal pizza - when he called they said that they don't offer that type of pizza. Really? It's on your menu! Perhaps update your menu if you don't offer something. Pricing is not listed on their online menu - should have been a red flag. Ultimately ended up ordering a 12 inch pizza - crust was doughy and overall pizza was bland. As a pizza lover, extremely disappointed. The sauce was not good, and way too much. To top it off - I ordered anchovies which I have been ordering all my life - this place charged $5!!!! (FIVE!) dollars for anchovies. Who charges $5 for anchovies? Not Lou Malnatis, Giordano's or any other pizza place. Total cost - about $24!!!!! for a 12 inch bland pizza. Really?! Nowhere in their menu does it state that anchovies count for twice the price of toppings. Husband's meat lovers pizza was also overpriced, bland, over sauced and disappointing. Ordered the Mama White Chicken Well Done. This was terrible terrible. He said 30 minutes. Got there at 30 minutes. 7 minute drive home. Pizza was cold. Like cold cold. Had to bake myself another 10 minutes. No sauce. No toppings at all. 17 little pieces of dried out chicken. Yes I counted them because that how little of an amount there was. Some cut pieces didn't even have any topping on them. Spinach was bad on the ends meaning it was either frozen or old. Terrible pie. The guy did 2 things while I was there. 1. Bragging and talking on the phone (personal conversation not taking an order) with some guys sister that neither one of the guys could believe who it was. "small world!!" 2.
