Camarillo is in for a treat because Boochies Matcha Bistro is officially open! My bestie and I stopped in for a midday pick me up, and we were impressed immediately upon walking in. Boochies has created a space that feels tranquil, beautiful, and inviting, the kind of place where you instantly want to sit and stay awhile. Boochies is the first concept of its kind in the area, and that alone is exciting. I have so many friends who are matcha fanatics, so having a spot serving ceremonial grade matcha right here in our local neighborhood feels like a big deal. And I learned so much during our visit. Boochies sources their ceremonial grade matcha from a family owned farm in Kirishima, Japan. They offer five different grades of ceremonial matcha, and part of the fun is getting to learn about the differences when you visit. We had the pleasure of meeting owner Rebekah aka "Boochie" and she couldn't have been lovelier. You can feel her passion for what she's building. She walked us through the different matcha variations and helped us navigate the menu. It was my friend's first time trying matcha, so she went with a classic iced vanilla matcha. I was looking for something refreshing and healthy, and Rebekah encouraged me to try the Fat Burner Lemonade with matcha, berries, cucumber, kale, and pineapple. YUM! It was super refreshing and such a unique way to enjoy matcha. We're already planning to come back for the breakfast bites and honestly we're just excited to have a space like this in Camarillo. :)

The drinks are very delicious! I had the rejuvenator and it's so delicious. The ingredients that they use are very healthy. They use honey instead of sugar. Their employees are very knowledgeable and very helpful, that kid Grey gave us amazing recommendations. I highly recommend this place.

Randomly decided to look up Matcha around me and found this six minutes away. We had to go check it out. I was a little scared because I never heard anything about it. But the drinks were so good. The bistro was welcoming as well and I enjoyed the Freewater.:)

We ordered a few drinks, and each had a great personality and flavor on their own! I hope they open in Westlake!

It was so amazing to find a place that values clean ingredients and uses so many super foods in the menu! We really don't have places like it here in Camarillo. I ordered a salted caramel matcha and created my own pizza which I was so excited to find came gluten free and dairy free! As someone with many dietary restrictions it was the best feeling knowing I could pretty much order anything on the menu and be in the clear! The matcha was delicious and the best I've had in a really long time. Finally matcha done right. Highly recommend this place.

There were a couple people already waiting in line when we arrived, but no one at the register. After a few more minutes the people ahead of us got tired of waiting and left. We had already had our minds set on a few menu items to try so we waited. The team member who took our order was very nice but a bit slow at the register. We weren't in a rush, so it didn't really bother us. The husband was quite hungry, so we ended up over-ordering -- House Chips & Cheese, Potato Bacon Pizza, Short-Rib Melt and Pastrami. It all came our pretty fast and it was ALOT (lol)! The House Chips were generous, fresh and tasty. The Potato Bacon pizza was delicious! The sandwiches, although flavorful, were kinda skimpy. We felt that we were biting into mostly bread. The fries were hot and super crispy. Service was great overall. There's a flat screen TV in the middle of the dining room that was showing college football. I liked that takeout boxes for leftovers were easily accessible to everyone. There's ample seating inside and several picnic tables at the shared area outside. The layout is nice with three connected establishments -- Freda's, Rori's and Topa Topa. Something for the entire family! :)

Their employee Christian took our order immediately and was very patient and efficiently accommodated our requests for adding basil and cooking it well done. Wonderful idea that accommodates groups with more options when visiting the establishment. After about 10 minutes Christian came out to inform us they had run out of mushrooms...then asked if we'd like to try their highly requested potato and bacon...we welcomed the possibility. He then very kindly brought us out delicious restaurant made potato chips and cheese dip, on the house, since he felt we had waited so long for our pizza. He immediately struck me as a very kindly brought and considerate young man...something that seems rare these days...especially when viewing society as a senior citizen. I highly recommend the quality of the pizza and enjoyed the service provided as well.

The number one rule at the beer garden says "children must be supervised at all times," and the second rule says "no running, climbing, or roughhousing." Unfortunately neither of these rules are ever followed or enforced. I thought my last few trips here were flukes, but clearly everyone in town is using this is as their evening spot to enjoy daycare and a beer. Definitely will be ordering online moving forward, but will not be coming back to the taproom until I have kids of my own to not supervise and scream in people's ears during dinner.

That was a HH the likes of which will never be seen again. But I digress...TODAY is today! Great, private parking lot with easy in/out. We came in for a lovely dinner and got just that. Seated immediately and in a comfy booth along the wall, perfect for people watching. SO. MANY. PEOPLE! I wasn't expecting a restaurant to be so full on a Tuesday night, but when you're as good as Ottavio's you develop a loyal following of locals who enjoy their time here. Many celebrations were obviously being had in just our little portion of the restaurant. There are multiple rooms, accommodating various sized parties, and the hot, delicious Italian faire just kept coming. Fresh, warm bread was delivered with our water and we dove into that doughy deliciousness strait away. Hubs went with a 50/50 plate of spaghetti and cheese ravioli with a meat sauce and added meatballs. I snuck a bite of the meatballs and they were very good, as was the sauce. I opted for the Tortellini Silvana, which was described as cheese tortellini w/sauteed chicken, fresh spinach, basil and sun dried tomato cream sauce. It was FABulous! Light and delicate sauce with full flavor. A generous portion, I took about 1/2 home! Our entrees each came with a choice of soup or salad. Hubs chose Italian Wedding and I went with Minestrone. (Side note: I knew well and good I would be having 2 soups, so I wanted to try both. ;-D) Both were made from scratch and delicious! I was impressed with how fluid the staff worked along side one another. Drinks then food then boxing and the check and - voila! - table turned and on to the next group, all while maintaining a welcoming and pleasurable attitude and friendly service. We are sure to have another meal here, next time we're craving old school Italian, homemade, handed down family recipes in Camarillo. Cheers! "CC"
